How time flies! It has been 43 days since Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal and Mataji Sarojini Ammaiyar arrival in Malaysia. They came to bless my daughter and son-in-law at their marriage, and stayed on to visit and grace the homes of members of AVM; met many devotees of Agathiyar from within and abroad; led us with prayers in homes and temples; held satsangs; and blessed everyone.
Tavayogi performed prayers in the homes of 12 devotees and in 3 temples, besides gracing the homes of many others. Many received the blessings of Agathiyar through the Jeeva Nadi readings that was read out by Tavayogi.
It has been a very fulfilling trip for Tavayogi and Mataji we believe. We had had many good moments with them too. Sri and Srimathi Balachander were a great host, while during their stay in Kuala Lumpur. They leave for India tomorrow.
How time flies! It has been 11 years since I met Tavayogi in Malaysia. He came to officiate the local chapter of his Sri Agathiyar Gnana Peedham, and moved on to address the public in numerous venues; initiating numerous Peedhams; coming again in 2007 as the patron and officiating the First World Conference of Siddha Philosophy in Kuala Lumpur. Through him many devotees came to the path of the Siddhas. I was one of them.
Today we stand strong and faithful to the path and the guru through AVM or Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia.
As I look back to the days when I got introduced to Tavayogi, it brings back fond memories.
Tavayogi arrived in Malaysia to officiate a branch of the Sri Agathiyar Gnana Peedham at Batu Caves in 2005. This movement advertised extensively the event in the local Tamil language dailies. I never subscribed to any Tamil daily but during this period my neighbor Augustine George used to pass a copy to me everyday.
I read the adverts and realized that the name Thangarasan was familiar. I searched through my 'treasure' of old newspaper cuttings and bits of notes and found the leaflet that Nadi Guru Sentilkumar of Avinashi had passed to me way back in 2002 when I went for my very first Nadi reading. The leaflet mentioned Tavayogi as Thaai Veedu Thangarasan and he was building an ashram at Kallar. That leaflet was me first link to Tavayogi who was to become my guru later in 2005.
I wanted to confirm in person whether he was the one mentioned in the leaflet, so I called the number of the organization in the advert. I got an appointment to see Tavayogi. He confirmed it was his leaflet and he listened to me talk about my Nadi reading and Agathiyar's instruction to me to follow this path. He told me I had come to the right place, explaining to me the activities that he was carrying out at his ashram in Kallar. He invited me over to his ashram. Tavayogi decided to initiate me and called the organizer to arrange for it later that evening. Tavayogi invited me to bring my family over too for his talk scheduled for the evening too. That evening he initiated me, my wife and 8 others.
Agathiyar first brought me to the Nadi, so that he could reveal the reason for being here; and later brought me to my guru, so that I knew where I was heading.
Agathiyar himself then came into our lives through a murthy or bronze statue in 2010. My family and I were conducting libation or abhisegam as instructed in Agathiyar's Nadi with whatever little knowledge we had then. Tavayogi on his part, added on another task, instructing us to start the fire ritual or homam although we had no prior knowledge nor experience doing both these rituals. He gave us the confidence and urged us on. Later in one of his subsequent visit's, Tavayogi helped fine tune these procedures.
We followed every single instruction of both Agathiyar and Tavayogi todate.
After 8 years, in 2013, I made my way back to India, this time with my family. My maiden trip was in 2003, followed by another in 2005, hot on the heels of Tavayogi after he invited me over. The five days in 2013 was entirely spent with Tavayogi and Mataji at the Kallar Ashram.
So it was only natural that we were pretty excited when Tavayogi and Mataji confirmed that they would attend my daughter's wedding. They stayed on to meet other devotees and brought many more to the path of the Siddhas. Tomorrow they shall leave for India.
