Agathiyar once told me to walk tall and walk with pride for we have come to his path. He took pride in us finally stepping into the way of the Siddhas. Similarly, what brings pride and cheer to the parents? Seeing their children grow up to be fine individuals with good values. My second daughter is growing up to be a fine lady. Her thoughts are deep and far-sighted. Here is a piece she wrote on kindness in her blog at https://journalofafox.blogspot.com/2017/08/the-world-only-seems-to-be-getting.html. She opens her post giving us a bleak future but soon seeing some light at the end of the tunnel tells us "Why should you be kind? "
The world only seems to be getting darker as of late. The hatred, anger and fear seems more prevalent among our fellow humans, either for their own personal needs or the needs of around them others. In the toughest of times, we often wonder whether there is any love and kindness left in the world. Why despite being taught to always be kind, many still choose to be mean, to be selfish, to bully, to have hate and instill fear in others. Why at times where things are hardest, it's almost tempting to give up being kind, and instead succumb to selfishness. I mean, what is the point right? What do I gain from being kind?
She has this nature to share her knowledge with those who seek and ask. As for us, we have no choice but to listen her out. Hahaha. On our family trips, she would doze off the very moment she got into the car. I would reason with her as to the reason we took such trips was to see new places and new things. Then she would stay awake for a while. But the danger in her staying awake was that as a school-going child, she would read so much about science and talk about what she had read all the way to our destination on our family trips. I would then ask her to go back to sleep. Hahaha.
When everyone was of an opinion that it was a waste of time, a solid two years, she found that it was worth her while to opt to continue her studies in the Higher School Certificate (HSC or STPM) after her SPM or formerly known as Malaysian Certificate of Education (MCE). She began encouraging others to continue with STPM. On completion, she got the course that she very much wanted, Media Communication, partly impressed I suppose by her uncle who is a journalist.
She has a mind of her own and usually gets away with it. Agathiyar, Lord Murugan, and Goddess Ma regard her as their child and have taken good care of her. She too appreciates all that they have done for her. As she draws and paints well, we commissioned her to create the album cover for our audio Cd "Agathiyar Geetham". Her hand-drawn painting graces the cover of the album.
As her nature is to help others she posted study guides to those who were struggling academically in another blog of hers at http://stpmassistant.blogspot.com/. When she discovered that she had an eye problem and we were told about it, we realized that many, like us, do not detect it till it was too late. All this while since she was 10 years of age, we had been to the Optometrist who had been prescribing her glasses. We never knew she had a problem with her vision till we decided to see the Ophthalmologist. She produced a video to educate others to have their eyes checked with an eye doctor or Ophthalmologist who provides Medical and Surgical Eye Care and not the Optometrist who provides Vision Care and Eye Care Services. When Supramania Swami pointed out that her eyesight would be affected after looking into her horoscope when I was with him the very first time in 2003, we thought he was referring to her short-sightedness. Never did we anticipate that her condition of myopia would lead to Retinal Detachment.
Currently, she is in South Korea under a student exchange program and her urge to share did not stop at our shores but she is bringing the sights and sounds of Korea into our living rooms through her YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL3LB2Tc1xfxl-4Ps5DwGIw
She who was self-taught and learned many trades from YouTube tutorials has given back to society by making her own tutorials for others to follow at https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlSyEwd8Byx-wxnVFnKCb_WKbZY4-MDxT
She is very enterprising too. She makes bracelets and sells them online under her own brand name "Charmed Malaysia".
My older daughter too took up blogging at http://berrysweetprincess.blogspot.com/. These days she has too much on her hands with two kids aged 4 and 1/2 growing up and another coming. Following in the footsteps of her aunt is my 4-year-old granddaughter who has made her own tutorial.
Acharya Gurudasan or who we lovingly address as Master Gowri had sacrificed his time to sit with me to document a series of videos on Kriya Yoga that is uploaded at https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvUzM8981rWBwptgC62XVdD1RyyiNe_jb
I have encouraged many readers to write and contribute to this blog their experiences with Agathiyar. Many took up the call including Thiru Mahindren, Dr.Jana, Shrimati Gayathri, a journalist too from Kerala, Shrimati Sowmiya from Chennai, Shrimati Kogie from South Africa, Sanjiv Ji from New Delhi, who contributed their pieces while Shrimati Vinthamaray started her own blog at http://soleathman.blogspot.com/. Meanwhile, Thiru Surendran interviewed many on his travels and these videos have been uploaded too. These are more ways to share what we know with others that give us a purpose in life and much joy.
