AGATHIYAR, THE SAVIOR

It is we who consecrate the space we live in, giving life to things that we touch. We do not realize our potential and the power in us until we reach the tip of Bhakti, or devotion. Bakti and love can do so much. Similarly, hatred and enmity can drive us to do equal damage to lives and property. If the former creates, the latter destroys it. The body can heal itself. We can heal others, too. We are our own masters. We can change our fate. All this is possible if we bring God within us. Just as it is said that during a thunderstorm, the positive electricity or streamer meets the electrical current flowing towards earth, the JeevAtma in us that is a part of the larger ParamAtma, is meet by ParamAtma coming to earth and claiming its other half as told in the Puranas too, of the story of Lord Siva and Parvathy separated and later returning into each others arms and embrace, dancing the cosmic dance. The Jothi in us merges with the Arutperunjothi from beyond, becoming an expression of divine love, compassion, and kindness that knows no bounds, status, color, language, race, or religion. This is the state of the Siddhas. We have to strive to achieve this. In doing so, the Siddhas would assist us in all means. There is no point in being merely a follower among the thousands. We need to personally know the guru, not online or through books. We need to sit in his presence and learn, not online or in books. We need to sit with him. We need to travel with him. We need to serve him. We have to gain the trust of the Guru and be patient. Tavayogi said that the guru would test his student, keeping him with him for some 12 years before even sharing his thoughts. We have to become "the one" among the thousands. Agathiyar had Pulastya, with whom he shared much. Ramalinga Adigal had Kalpattu Aiya, coming for him after his disappearance some 25 years on 26 April 1902, to lay Kalpattu Aiya in Samadhi. Ramakrishna had Vivekananda. I was privileged and am honored that Supramania Swami and Tavayogi took me in as their student. If Tavayogi gifted me the Asanas and Pranayama practice, which Agathiyar said was a treasure, Supramania Swami gave me all his merits gained from his 40 years of Tavam or austerities. As for Agathiyar, who tells me that we have known each other for crores of years, he came back for me after all those years.  He remembered me, but I forgot as I was lured and got preoccupied with many things, and forgot what I came for. He stood by me patiently, hoping that someday I would turn my look towards him when he could show himself to me and make me recall all the good times we had together. That day has arrived. I am deeply indebted to him, the shepherd, for coming back for me, who had strayed away from the flock for all these years.
