This blog is about ordinary people who come together to walk the extra mile for the cause of Agathiyar and Siddhas. Here is one such story.
He was jobless after leaving his lucrative job in aircraft engineering in Singapore, just to be closer with his family. That is when his friend mentioned about the Olai Suvadi or Nadi reading. After several failed attempts in calling Nadi Nool Aasan Ramesh, he finally managed to get an appointment. But that too was postponed to another date. Finally he had an appointment at 4 pm on 11.1.2013. As he made his way to the Nadi center, it began to pour. Drenched and soaked to the skin he stood at the door of the office of Nadi Nool Aasan Ramesh. After drying himself with a towel handed by Ramesh, he sat down to listen to what Agathiyar had to say. He read the 1st and 10th Kaandam, detailing all about him and his career respectively. He was taken aback when he heard his name mentioned in the Nadi. If the Nadi was supposed to have been written many thousand years ago, how did his name appear in it? He was amazed. He went again to read his Parikara Kaandam and again the third time just to accompany someone else at his reading. But as the person did not turn up he decided to read his 4th and 9th Kaandam, about his mother and guru, respectively. Agathiyar revealed that he was his guru. Hence began a wonderful journey for Bala Chandran Gunasekaran on the path of the Siddhas.

Immediately after this reading was over, Bala called me since AVM was mentioned in the Nadi. He came over to AVM and played me the audio recording of his Nadi reading. Subsequently he made his way to AVM several times. He brought along his long time childhood friends and buddies - a wonderful group of souls. Bala began worship of Agathiyar and the Siddhas in his home, slowly bringing his family into the worship too.

He gathered his friends together and started a group Thondu Seivom to further serve the community better. Thondu Seivom started their journey by lighting up 108 ghee lamps followed with a prayer and an annadhanam or serving free food at the Sri Supramaniar Swamy Temple at Batu Caves on 2.8.2015.
During one of his many trips to India, Bala and Thondu Seivom performed a massive annadhanam at Thiruvannamalai too.

An offshoot of Thondu Seivom, AmuthaSurabi was started specifically just to carry out Annadhanam or feeding the poor, homeless and those in charity homes and orphanages.
With his devotion to Agathiyar and adhering to the sage's words, Bala brought together his immediate family members and relatives too to host monthly annadhanam sessions at a home nearby.
His family and relatives then took it upon themselves to cook and serve food to an even larger crowd estimated at 1,000 during the annual Thiruvizha or temple celebration in their hometown recently.

Today he stands tall and proud of achieving many goals that he had put in place, thanks to the cooperation of a wonderful team of schoolmates, family and friends and most of all Agathiyar's blessings.
AVM is proud of these wonderful souls who have taken up Agathiyar's mission and put it into action. This post is dedicated to these amazing humans who have chosen to walk the face of the earth in this era of the Siddhas. We are sure that their service towards Agathiyar and humanity would not end here but grow multi-fold and expand beyond boundaries.
