It was raining continuously since last night. I wondered if people would come out to Batu Caves on a rainy day. As we reached the parking lot in the Murugan Temple at Batu Caves we were surprised to see many cars and people going about with their devotion with umbrellas opened. My family and I paid our homage to Sri Ganesar and headed for the cave temple. After climbing the 272 steps we had a darshan of Sri Velayuthar Swamy. We climbed a small number of steps further taking us to the Valli Deivanai Murugan Temple. Here AVM, Thondu Seivom and Amudha Surabhi family gathered to light 1008 ghee lamps and prayed for the safety and well being of all of God's creation and the world we lived in.
Agathiyar had directed AVM to conduct this prayer at Batu Caves on a Shasthi Tithi through a Nadi reading for Surendaran Selvaratnam last December.
Bala Chandran Gunasekaran monitored all the arrangements to make this event a success.
AVM honored Varma masters Arunan and Yuvaraj for treating and healing the sick and also for their effort in promoting and teaching Varma and other martial art forms.
After prayers we gathered at the temple grounds to distribute food parcels. We fed the monkeys, pigeons and fishes too before heading back home.
