KALLAR ASHRAM

Kallar Ashram that greeted and took me in its shade, giving me my very first ashram experience is set to move once work on the new temple complex is completed in a year's time. Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal, founder and guru of the Sri Agathiyar Gnana Peedham and his foremost disciple Mataji Sarojini Ammaiyar are currently busy supervising ongoing preliminary earthworks at the new site.

Kallar Ashram, the grounds where Agathiyar's Guru Puja and Jayanthi celebrations have been carried out annually will see a new bigger and more spacious venue to host this two day event.

I was fortunate to meet Tavayogi in Malaysia in 2005. Subsequently I ventured to visit his ashram upon receiving his verbal invitation besides making a pilgrimage to other temples directed by Agathiyar in the Nadi. When I began to inform him over the phone of the numerous places of worship that was listed in the Nadi, he interrupted telling me that he would take me wherever I need to go.

After visiting my very first guru Supramania Swami in Thiruvannamalai, I arrived at Kallar to be greeted by Tavayogi. It was a very modest ashram with only the very bare facilities. There was no electricity and water. The thatched roof and a three feet brickwall provided shelter from rain and shine and protected us from the animals respectively. It also housed the single granite structure, Aaru Aathaara Peedham. A shed adjoining the Peedham was used as a kitchen. A zinc cabin that was to be our quarters was placed alongside. There was a single latrine and toilet for foreigners use. Tavayogi slept inside the Peedham.

Mataji used to travel from her hometown to serve Tavayogi and visitors at the ashram when called upon. The Government was in the midst of building homes for the natives on the grounds beside the ashram. These move brought electricity and water supply to the vicinity of the ashram and an opportunity for Tavayogi to feed these people. Tavayogi extended his hand to provide clothings and stationeries to the kids too.

Tavayogi initially held the annual prayers to commemorate the establishment of the Peedham, later seeing the adverse effects that the furious weather had had on the people and the surroundings, he decided to perform the Maha Pirapanja Yagam. This became an annual affair with 5 yagams or sacrificial fire pits lighted. Slowly it evolved into the Sarva Dosa Maha Nivarana Yagam that was meant to eradicate diseases and illnesses, bringing good health to all participants and the surroundings besides calming down nature. The number of yagams too was increased to 108 to enable more devotees to participate.

With more people coming to know of the existence of this ashram, both in India and Malaysia, these devotees began to contribute towards the upkeep and expansion of the temple complex. A dining hall, meditation hall, a bigger kitchen and more latrines, bathrooms and toilets were built. What was once an earth floor was cement rendered and later was tiled.

Mataji was instructed to bring over to Kallar Ashram a granite statue of Agathiyar that she had made on the instruction of Agathiyar in the Nadi many years ago. Well wishes made a fiber statue of Agathiyar and later that of Thava Murugan too. Agathiyar on his part sent a sadhu to deliver a majestic rudraksham that  is worshipped as a Shivalingam. Tavayogi was gifted with a Jeeva Nadi where devotees have their queries answered.

The modest ashram has grown in its size of its devotees and its only appropriate that it moved to a larger facility. Agathiyar granted Tavayogi's wish when devotees came forward to assist in purchasing a new ground. Let us come forward to do our bit for Agathiyar by erecting a beautiful monument of worship and gain his blessings.

THE MOST COMPASSIONATE GURU

What started as a website INDIANHEARTBEAT to store my already deteriorating artwork that was collecting dust too, later carried a journal of my maiden pilgrimage to India, moved on to include my travels with my masters, and finally through SIDDHA HEARTBEAT became an avenue that showcases the workings of the Siddhas.

What started with devotion to the Siddhas, paved the way for Agathiyar to come to Agathiyar Vanam in the form of a bronze statue, and with continuous prayers, performing of homam and libation, brought Agathiyar to reside, hear out devotees prayers and grant their wishes.

What started as a private puja, had gone viral, with Agathiyar blessing, to stream live the event at USTREAM.

Devotees began to turn up at Agathiyar Vanam. Kind and encouraging comments started coming in from readers. Its nice to receive these constructive views and it motivates me to carry on giving more towards the propagation of this wonderful margam or path. I share more of these comments below:
  • Thank you sir for this enlightening post. I read another wonderful post by you about agathiar saying that he is inside all of us and and we all are inside him, but I cannot find that post again. I would kindly request you to tell the title of the post or please post another beautiful article on the same revelation by father agathiar!
  • Hi. I commented a few days earlier about karma questions. They are kind of solved now. I really love your blog and it is my only hope! Actually I want to share with you my story! I think you are the only one who will understand. I actually read a lot of false spirituality stuff that made me believe that god is a maniac who has already fixed our destiny and we cannot do anything about it. It also told that the atman is a prisoner inside its own body and the body behaves of on own and we have to endure the effects of the karma. Through your blog I understood that the atman acts through the body!
  • Dear Shanmugam Avadaiyappa, I found your blog while doing some google researches on Nadi Astrology. Digging through your blog, I understand that you have a deep and vast knowledge on Nadi Astrology. As I am looking to experience the wonder of Nadi Astrology, I am writing this message with the hope of asking you for your recommendations of some Guru in Nadi Astrology so that I could reach out for a reading. If they could be reached out and perform the reading over the Internet, it would be more ideal as I don't live in India. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards.
  • Hi Mr. Shanmugam. I was going through your blogs....which were very inspiring in the spiritual path. Thanks for sharing your experience. One help I require....I was interested to go for a reading to find out some solutions to my problems. So can I seek divine help from Swami Tava Yogi... Regards.
  • Hi Shanmugamji. Thanks for your blogs about Siddhas. I am a regular visitor to your site and it's really inspiring. I have been trying very sincerely for a guidance of Agathiyar Maharshi thru Jeevanadi...tried to get in touch with Sri Tavayogi but it seems appropriate time of meeting has not come... I was just come accross the Gnanaskandar Nadi in your blog..can u please guide me with detailed contact information for the same.... Thanks once again for your divine blogs ... Thanks & Regards.
  • Vanakkam. I am deeply interested to hear the NAADI JOTHIDAM offered at Gnana Peetam Tirukoil. Pl get me to have that divine opportunity.Thanks.
  • I would like to have an aappointment. I am want to see nadi Horoscope. How much it cost for one person. I am coming from coimbatore can you tell me where i have to divert from ooty road.
  • Great.. யார்க்குரைப்பேன் என்னசெய்வேன் ஏதும்அறிந் திலனே...
  • Dear guruji, My name is ..... and I live in London England and am writing to you to respectfully ask your help, would it be possible to get jeeva naadi for my self? I was I. Malaysia and was directed to a naadi reader by .... but I am confused as my reading has not materialised and I don't know why. Please if you could help me I will be In your forever debt.
  • Dear Shanmugam - I got up this morning to discover that you had indeed replied to my question on YouTube as to where to get more information. I spent most of this morning reading your very well-written blog! Thank you for response and your blog. My introduction to Agastya and siddhas started a while back following the agasthiar.org website, and more recently when I started reciting His "Karya Siddhi Malai", and various prayers to Sri Lalitambika. I am Malaysian, resident in Singapore for a long time. My second sister lives in PJ. A quick question: are Nadi astrology readings available in KL? How could I arrange for one? Thank you very again and God Bless. I look forward to hearing from you and to watching your live streaming events soon.
But the biggest motivator is yet Agathiyar. I went for my 53rd Nadi reading last evening. I share his blessings with you.

OVERCOMING FATE

Man wants the best in life. But does he achieve all that he wishes for or aspires? Why then does he face adverse situations? Agathiyar says it is all due to fate or vidhi. Fate is an accumulation of karma or actions done in previous births that fall into two general categories, paavam and punyam, the results of good deeds and the results of bad deeds respectively. The law of karma states that you reap what you sow. Based on one's past good and evil deeds, certain karma has to happen in one's present life. To facilitate this, Erai creates a conducive birth and the circumstances for these karma to take place. A birth then takes place at the time when the planets are placed such that the karma can come into effect. One's astrological chart would depict the positioning of the planets conducive for these karma to take place. The truth is nobody can escape from the clutches of karma. Karma necessitates the need to take numerous births. Hence starts a cycle of births.

Until a man comes to this realization, he has to carry out performing rituals. By doing rituals one indirectly is doing charity. When one is told to help another or to do charity it does not come easy for most of us. But when one is told to do rituals, he readily does it. To start a ritual, one needs to purchase numerous items and things to carry out the ritual. Hence the families and industries are sustained when man makes these purchases. Now indirectly he has helped another. It is similar when one performs atonements or parikaram too. He is given a mantra to chant. He is asked to go to the temples to worship. He is encouraged to share his hard earned wealth with others through the act of feeding the poor, donation, and gifting supplies towards the sustenance of temples, priests and Nadi Gurus. By following these parikaram, his karma is slowly shed. When karma leaves, his doubts leave him as well. He has a clear understanding that he has to work towards gaining Erai's grace and work towards living a life devoid of karma. Agathiyar says it takes many births just to come to this understanding. Man must utilize this birth to attain this state. Towards this purpose, he has to have determination and be focused. To receive Erai's grace Agathiyar advises us to live a Sattvic life. Agathiyar understands pretty well that it is not possible for all this changes to take place in a wink of an eye. Yet however difficult it may be, man must learn to battle his weakness no matter how many times he falls and fails. He then starts to rewrite his fate. Intelligence or buddhi drives fate. Fate in turn has intelligence in its clutches and drives it. Hence fate gains control over one.

Fate and destiny cannot be changed. But the most merciful and compassionate Erai is all forgiving. For those who have come to realize their mistakes, Erai shows some leniency and an exception. Erai provides certain avenues for him who has repented to be saved from the 'gallows'. An opportunity to escape 'detention' and 'torture' comes in the form of doing Dharmam (upholding righteousness, good virtues and charity) and Thavam (devotion and austerities) that is required of him. This is what the saints have been telling us all this while. "Dhanamum thavamum seivaaraagil vanavar naadu thiranthidume," says Avvai which means the gates to Erai's kingdom shall open up the moment Dhanam and Thavam is done. Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal says, "Dhanamum thavamum ungalai paathukaakum kavasangal". Agathiyar himself says, "Dharmathin vazhi sella sella karmathin vali kuraiyum appa".

Living just for the sake of a body and its myriad sensations is akin to living an animalistic life. Man needs to go beyond that and strive for a spiritually uplifting holy experience and purpose. Man has to be totally aware of the consequences of all his actions, has to consider that which is permanent, that which leads to a state of permanence, figure out how to attain that state, and take the necessary steps and actions that will lead one to that state. Does that mean one has to drop all desires, drop his expectations, leave his family and kin, and engage in austerities in solitude? Agathiyar says that would be a desirable thing to do but he acknowledges that not everyone is fated to do so. To one in this high state of spiritual advancement all other mundane things will start to fade into obscurity on its own. Having achieved that high state, Agathiyar reminds us to live like a normal person.

THE NEW KALLAR ASHRAM IN THE MAKING

THE PAST

Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal's wish to build a temple for his guru Agathiyar is about to become a reality. When I saw the Kaanda Nadi the very first time, Nadi Nool Aasan Sentilkumar of Avinashi who was in Malaysia, passed me a leaflet. It was about a Swamiji named Thaaiveedu Thangarasan's intention to build a Temple for Agathiyar and an ashram at Kallar in the hills of Ooty where breathing techniques, yoga asanas and meditation would be taught. The leaflet mentioned that to accommodate the devotees a Dharmasalai, Thavasalai and Dhiyanakudil too would be built. Devotees would be fed too. That was in 2002.

The leaflet by Tavayogi seeking fund to build a temple for Agathiyar released in 2002
I met Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal when he was in Malaysia in 2005. I brought the leaflet that I had kept and asked him to verify if the Thaaiveedu Thangarasan was indeed him. Tavayogi explained what he was doing and showed me photos of activities conducted at his ashram. He invited me over. I left for his ashram right after he returned home. Hence started a beautiful relationship.

THE PRESENT

Over the years Kallar Ashram has had numerous facelifts with devotees roping in to upgrade its facilities.

Present day Kallar Ashram
THE FUTURE

Kallar Ashram will now move to a new place once work on the construction of a new pyramid shaped meditation hall and a guru pooja stadium is completed. With Agathiyar's grace, the land has been purchased and work has started and is going on under the watchful eyes of Tavayogi, with donations from the generous devotees and the public.

THE GREATNESS OF SIDDHA MARGAM

Agathiyar has guided two beautiful souls well. They came to know about Agathiyar and the Siddhas. They went for a Nadi reading. They followed all the atonements and parikaram that Agathiyar mentioned to them in the Nadi. They went to Kallar Ashram to receive Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal's blessing. They went on a pilgrimage to temples, samadhis and caves. Today they stand proud after being accepted into Agathiyar's fold and his path - the Siddha Margam. Siddha Heartbeat too is proud and congratulates them.

Moondravathu Kan - On Kallar Ashram

Photos courtesy of https://www.facebook.com/moondravathukan2014

I had a chat with Rohit Raveendran on Google Hangouts yesterday, when he told me about Vendhar Tv crew's arrival and shooting of the above episode at Kallar on the appointed day of his Jeeva Nadi reading.

I share our conversation with readers of Siddha Heartbeat.
namaste sir. i red your blog,it was so amazing. i really want to share somethign but you are neevr available online :(
After the initial formalities he continues to inform me of his trip to Kallar.
stayed at kallar for a few days...each day was amazing and miraculous.
great. when was that?
some 10 days back, funy thing was that did i mentioned smell in my room and miraculous appearence of your website on my computer screen. well your blog appeared on my monitor automatically and that's how i came to know about kallar. remember.and also i mentioned you about super strong plesent smell in my room at that time.it was lords grace,as mentioned in nadi.
n the moola matra right?
yes...agasthya said it was vasantha darrshana. i was so mooved,by his words.
in the nadi?
yes.darshan in the form of smell. but ofcourse he said it was due to my past life connections and all. i asked tavayogi few questions about spirituality a few days back before my reading..agasthya clarified it too.
great to hear u had areading
i didn't go for reading alone but to stay here actually.
good. i am sure u came back satisfied
yes,i want to go there on purnami. on the last pournami siddhas were present ,as revealed by the nadi.
yes also during guru puja
ohhhh.....i remember pleasent smell during pournami pooja, mataji is very sweet.
yes she is a wonderful lady.
and down to earth too.
what did tavayogi tell u?
he said something like i had siddhar valipadi,so i came there...and we chatted a lot about vasi yogam, enlightenment etc:......he said was asking too many questions but he was sweet.....i think he is living totally detached to the world. agathya told me worship of body is enough, but still why he prescribe siddhargal pooja.that i can't understand..
worship of body ?
like body is temple and all, worship of body means pranayama, mantra japa etc:....internal worship i mean.
that is the eventual state, but first u have to start from the basic I suppose. siddha puja brings u their grace. their grace helps you perform pranayama, mantra japa etc:....internal worship without encountering dangers n problems n obstacles.
oh ok i understand........some 10 people came for reading, sitting there was actually a live experience of reading siddhan arul series. then we have a real understanding of nature of karma. like one amma lost his son of no reason. she cried at me,after reading the nadi.......everything was clear. sir how can we nullify karma.
agathiyar says go all out n help others, feed others, do charity. this increases punya balam n atma balam. it then offsets your present karma.
on the day of my reading,a few people from tv channel came to record the andi reading *nadi. while agasthya was revealing me the secrets ,they tried to record but all of a sudden the camera man and mataji started coughing.
yes saw the promo this morning.
Moondravathu Kan - [Ep 147 - Promo]

https://youtu.be/qdPpmVhRvBA

so stopped the recording....but in genral they stayed for 2 days and interviewed.
eager to watch that episode. heard it was aired last wednesday. have to search youtube for the full episode.
they interviewed me too......
great. what did u say to them?
well i didn't completly reveal to them agathya came and guided me,but i told them it was divine will which brought me there and all....they asked me my opinion on tavayogi and 7 kg rudraksh.
tvayogi acted as if reading..then all of a sudden words of agasthya came on nadi. GREETING TO vender.
VENDER IS THE NAME OF TV CHANNEL.:)
like welcoming them in Tamil? the crew.
yes. i dont exactly remember the words but it was beautiful tamil.
that means the had the blessing of Agathiyar to shoot the episode
yes.....i think you can see the amma that i mentioned on the programme who lost her son
its about time people knew about the Nadi. she was interviewed too?
no they recorded her reading i think. lord asked me to go to a particular sannidhi. it will be open only on friday but i wend there on saturday. i sat there and prayed. all of a sudden the poojari asked me to remoove my shirt run inside and have a darshan.
u r blessed
it was like reliving experiences of hanumat dasan. i mean i never expected that, nobody could...it was a miracle.
so it has been a very fulfilling journey to kallar rohit.
invigorating....... i actually wanted to stay and do seva for few days, mainly cuz i believe agathya is my grandpa,so some vacation at grandpa's house. they have plans to build a big ashram...... but it will take some time.
they have already started work on it rohit
oh i see.......nice to know so many things happening. i could still smell the spicy air at the ashram. by the way your blog entries are really amazing, the way you write make readers eyeball stick to the monitor.

sir somebody raised the question at kallar, one a pariharam is did how long will it take to effect a change.....in my case i think i am blessed but does it vary from person to person why is it so?
I sat through a reading for a Chinese lady. I was asked to translate for her. I was there with my wife for our reading when Ramesh tells me she was coming over. she was crying over the phone. I never wanted to translate cause need to listen to their stories. but was caught that day. could not say no.

she came crashing into his office crying. It was all hell in her office. Ramesh brought a nadi out. Agathiyar immediately calms her down. He gave her so much motivation so much so I got motivated myself listening to Agathiyar. he said he knows who was behind all her troubles. asked her for 10 days to settle things at her work place. the only parikaram he asked her to do was place a lotus flower for shiva on 3 consecutive sundays. as it was a saturday we told her to start placing on the day itself n another the next day. she went back smiling and confident. i felt confident too. i was amazed at how agathiyar brought a total change in her immediately just by speaking to her.

i went back to ramesh on tuesday. he told me the lady called to say all her problems were solved. Agathiyar asked for 10 days to work on it but he solved her problem in 3 days!
amazing
he asked her to place flowers for 3 weeks but accepted 2 days parikaram. sat, n sunday. thats how fast he works on some. but for others he has to seek out Brahma, plead with him to bring changes in their fate. it takes time. he will ask to be patient cause of the intensity of their karma.
yes i understand,sir
Rohit had contacted me last year and had wanted a Nadi reading. On Tue, Nov 25, 2014 rohit raveendran wrote:
Dear Shanmugam sir, i have spend yesterday morning and today evening reading your blog, lot of amazing and interesting details were revealed to me thank you so much....i would have never contacted you or even visit you blog if agasthya hadn't given me an electric shock from the mantra which happened to load on it's own..i think the siddha masters have certain agenda for making me contact you :) ..it is such a wonderful blog that you have written and thank you so much sir

Sir, i would really love to get a reading from tavayogi, could you please tell me how much he charges for a reading..also would you mind telling me from where have you got the thirumoolar nadi(as i am a devotee of moolanji ) thank you once again
 Agathiyar finally fulfilled his wish.
