Recently KP from Africa went for a Jeeva Nadi reading at Kallar, she was asked to read Yogi Ramaiah's books by Agathiyar. She wrote that later at Thiruvannamalai, a Swami whom she met promised to help her find Yogi Ramaiah's books in South Africa. On returning home to South Africa, she used to question Agathiyar why he had placed her somewhere "far away from him and the people who knew him." since she "felt disconnected, distanced and lonely." KP was in for lots of surprises. What she did not know was that Agathiyar was working to bring his children to assist her.
Soon afterwards she received an email from the Swami at Thiruvannamalai pointing her to a person whom he thought could assist her find Yogi Ramaiah's books. After calling the lady to place an appointment to meet her, KP was amazed to step into her office. KP says, "The room was identical to the waiting room at the ashram in Kallar. Babaji, many siddhas, swamis and Agathiyar graced the walls of the room. The place looked like an ashram." The lady offered her personal copy of one of Yogi Ramaiah's book. She spoke about the Kriya yoga classes that she held at her premises. Not only was KP given the Yogi's book, she was shown her Kriya yoga teacher too, personally initiated by the Guru himself, Yogi Ramaiah. KP was later introduced to several others, all "devotees of the siddhas." KP had the opportunity to participate in their Homa ritual for Agathiyar and the other Siddhas too. All this took place in her very town.
KP is full of gratitude and writes, "Needless to say I no longer feel disconnected, distanced and lonely. I was shown and taken directly to the place and people I am to walk with.", by "My dear father …. Agathiyar"
It is wonderful to hear that Agathiyar has mentioned Yogi Ramaiah in KP's Jeeva Nadi reading. When I came to know about Yogi Ramaiah many years ago, I very much wanted to meet him. I was told that he frequented Malaysia often. Then in 2006, I came across in a local Tamil daily that carried the news that he had passed away on 12.7.2006, a Guru Purnima day, at 3.30pm in Malaysia and preparations were being made to bring his physical body over to India. He was 83 then.
I rushed to the address, a temple for Babaji, where his mortal frame was laid before he was to be moved to his birthplace. Not many people were around then. His devotees were chanting Babaji’s Naama Japa. I paid my respects to him and joined the chant before leaving shortly.
Ramaiah was born on May 9, 1923 at Ananda Vilas, the mansion of SA Annamalai Chettiar, in Kanadukathan. His family had served Ramana Maharishi for 3 generations. A Sadhu, Chela Swami used to frequent their home too.
Just as he was to leave for the USA to further his studies, Ramaiah contracted bone tuberculosis which disrupted his plans. The disease took its toll on him and he was immobilized for 6 long years. During that period, his wife and servants cared for him at San Thome in Madras. But Ramaiah used this time to his advantage by reading a lot. During these years, Prasanananda Guru aided him in meditation while Omkara Swami shared with Ramaiah his knowledge of yoga. Ramaiah also published his first book based on Omkara Swami’s life, "A BLISSFUL SAINT." In 1952, he had a visit from Mauna Swami too, a disciple of Shirdi Sai Baba. Shortly afterwards, Ramaiah had a vision of Shirdi Sai Baba himself. Ramaiah asked Baba if he was his Guru. Baba replied, "No, but I will reveal to you who your guru is", and Ramaiah was shown his guru Babaji.
One day Ramaiah succumbed to the pain and misery that he was undergoing and decided to end his life. He held his breath, not letting it go. Suddenly he heard Babaji's voice. Babaji told him, "Do not take your life! Give it to me!" Surprised and taken aback by the divine intervention, Ramaiah surrendered himself to Babaji.
The next day, upon awakening, Ramaiah felt that he was healed. Summoning the doctors, Ramaiah was given a clean bill and certified fit. To everyone's astonishment Ramaiah had indeed healed completely. Very soon Ramaiah regained the use of both his legs. Shortly in another vision Ramaiah saw Babaji limping. He questioned Babaji as to why he limped. To Ramaiah's surprise, Babaji replied that he was taking on Ramaiah's illness (bone tuberculosis)!
Meanwhile Ramaiah seeing an advert on VT Neelakantan’s book, "No 9 BOAG ROAD" which was based on Satguru Rama Devi, requested a copy from VT Neelakanthan. VT Neelakantan met Ramaiah at San Thome and hence began a friendship between the two; the 51 year old Neelakantan and the 29 year old Ramaiah.
Besides delivering the book, VT Neelakantan shared a secret with Ramaiah too. VT Neelakantan was visited by Babaji at his prayer room in Madras every night! Babaji requested both VT Neelakantan and Ramaiah to collaborate and establish a Yoga society named after him, the Kriya Babaji Sangam in 1952 and also its information arm, the Kriya Yoga Magazine, and to spread his teachings in a series of books, "THE VOICE OF BABAJI AND MYSTICISM UNLOCKED," "BABAJI'S MASTERKEY TO ALL ILLS," and "DEATH OF DEATH."
Later Babaji began appearing to Ramaiah too. Ramaiah now 31, was summoned to Badrinath by Babaji in 1954. After three days of Ramaiah wandering along the mountains, Babaji revealed himself physically to Ramaiah. Ramaiah received training from Babaji in Kriya Yoga. Ramaiah became acquainted with Babaji's principle disciples, Annai Nagalakshimi Deviyar and Dadaji, too.
Back in Madras in 1955, Ramaiah continued his tapas. He started worship of Kali. He came to be known as Yogi Ramaiah.
Under the instructions of Babaji, Yogi Ramaiah, moved to Bombay with his wife, to study physiotherapy. While there he did many wonders, curing the ill with his knowledge of yoga and physiotherapy. Soon he returned to Madras to practice.
From 1956 Yogi Ramaiah and his wife took to the road to preach, teach and heal, which brought them to Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Vietnam. In 1954, Ramaiah initiated the "Parliament of World Religions and Yoga", which since then was held annually. He published "SONGS OF THE 18 SIDDHAS" in 1968, based on preserved old palm leaf manuscripts of the writings of the 18 Siddhas that he had collected over a span of 25 years.
After his wife passed away, he journeyed again to Malaysia and also to Australia and New Zealand before moving to the United States in 1968. From a small following, known as the "American Babaji Yoga Sangam", it mushroomed to more than 50 yoga centers throughout the world. Ramaiah built many holy shrines and temples too.
A Malaysian travels all the way to India for a Gnanaskandar Jeeva Nadi reading, hoping for a solution to his problem but Lord Muruga in the Nadi gives him a mantra instead. Puzzled he returns home but puts into practice what he is told. This beautiful episode revolving the Jeeva Nadi was posted at http://kaumarapayanam.blogspot.com/2015/06/blog-post_3.html today.
A Malaysian went for a reading, seeking if Lord Muruga would show any indication whether he would recover a large amount of money loaned to someone.
The Malaysian had tried for some time to get a reading and finally was called over on a Pournami or Full Moon to the Sri Skanda Upasagar who was in possession of the Jeeva Nadi.
After reading the Nadi for a moment, surprisingly the Upasagar was asked to hand over the Jeeva Nadi to the Malaysian for Lord Muruga had a mantra as an upadesam for him. The Malaysian cried out in joy when told.
The Nadi was handed over to him. Letters began to appear in the Nadi. It carried 13 golden letters that when read together formed a mantra. The Malaysian wrote down the mantra.
Lord Muruga asked the Upasagar to show the Nadi to the Malaysian again. This time there was nothing written on it. It was blank. The Malaysian cried his heart out at the compassion of the Lord in showing him what a Jeeva Nadi was.
The Lord again appeared in the Nadi and instructed him to go over to Thiruporur and chant the given mantra 108 times. He was asked to take Chidambaram Swamigal as his guru. The Lord told him that he would perform miracles the moment he begins to chant the mantra. He was asked to write down all the said miracles and bring it over the next time he comes for a reading.
After returning to Malaysia he called the Skanda Upasagar to reveal his intention in seeing the Nadi earlier and relayed the good news. He had come to see the Nadi if he could regain back a huge some of money that he had loaned someone but was puzzled when the Lord did not answer his question but instead chose to give him that mantra upadesa. Upon returning to Malaysia, the amount that was due to him for the past 8 years, and that he had given up any remaining hope of retrieving, was returned to him. It amounted to Rs15lakhs.
He was happy that the Lord had indeed given him a solution. He promised to come annually to pay homage to Gnanaskanda Murthi at the Sri Gnanaskandashramam.
I never knew about the existence of the Nattadreeswarar Temple, a unique temple right in the middle of the Kaveri river until Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal invited my family and me to tag along that day on 13 October 2013. We had just returned from our hike up the Kallar hill to have the darshan of Agathiyar in the form of a 3 feet granite statue tucked away among the boulders and jungles of Kallar.
When Mataji filled us in on the uniqueness of the temple sitting in the middle of Kaveri and one having to traverse to the temple by a coracle or parisal, we were doubly overjoyed. We had never taken a coracle ride and it would definitely be a wonderful first time experience for the family and me.
The proprietor of Gita Press had arrived at Kallar Ashram that morning as we were in the hills. He had invited to take Tavayogi and Mataji to the Nattadreeswarar Temple at Kangayapalaiyam near Erode. As I was in Kallar visiting Tavayogi with my family, Tavayogi invited us along.
We freshened up, took our lunch and set off for Erode in two vehicles. It was already late evening as we arrived at the banks of Kaveri. As the Seth had a very good relationship with the priests at this temple he set off to meet them at their home while we strolled down a path to the edge of the waters. It was a magnificent sight to behold. The temple stood atop a rock looking majestic as the Kaveri circled it, caressing and paying homage to the Lord within the temple walls.
The Seth returned with the priest, Saravanan Manikam Sivachariyar. We were told his father the senior priest was already at the temple. As we waited for a coracle to leave the island temple and fetch us on our side of the bank, we were disappointed to notice the senior priest board the coracle too to cross the river. He had locked up the temple for the day and was returning home! As the coracle reached our bank, his son offered to take us over. This brought joy to all of us gathered on the bank waiting anxiously to have a darshan of Lord Nattadreeswarar.
Two coracles were needed to ferry us across, as they were of the smaller size. We made our way across the calm waters of Mother Kaveri, with Mataji, Devanthiran, my family and me cruising with the Shivachariyar in one, while Tavayogi, the Seth, Prabakaran and several others followed us on the other coracle. I took the opportunity to request the Shivachariyar to explain about the significance of the temple. He gladly filled us in. It was a unique experience for the family and me taking the coracle to cross the river to the temple.
Once on the island rock, we had the opportunity to see Lord Shiva close-up, something we never dreamed off. The Shivalingam is also unique as it was formed/made by Agathiyar out of the river sand from the Kaveri river. Another uniqueness in this temple was that Agathiyar was directly facing Lord Shiva in the inner sanctum. Lord Muruga had greeted Agathiyar on arrival here and is depicted with his right foot forward. We were indeed blessed to be brought to this temple to have a darshan of Agathiyar, Lord Shiva and Lord Muruga too.
We place on record our gratitude to Tavayogi and Mataji Sarojini Ammaiyar, the Seth from Erode, Saravanan Manikam Shivachariyar and his father, and the kind souls who rowed us over to the temple in the coracle.
Jnana Jyothiamma too was called to this temple. Just as Agathiyar showed her a spectacle in the form of a play of lights at Kalyana Theertam, he choses to amaze us through his numerous lilas or plays again at Nattadreeswarar Temple. Here is an interesting turn of events that brought her to Nattadreeswarar Temple. Although I had posted her story earlier, I thought it would be appropriate to recap it here again.
On 24 October 2013 Jnana Jyothiamma sent me a mail on fb.
At about 10am she receives a call from an unknown number .. 111. As she does not entertain unknown callers she ignored this call too. But the phone kept ringing. On the third ring she picks it up. She heard a boy's voice on the other end. He said "Amma .... How is your leg pain?", referring to her long standing pain. When asked who he was he replied Kandhan. Thinking it was Kandhan Gurukal of Panchesti Agathiyar Temple she asked him from which number he was calling as the number seemed to be different. He laughed and it sounded like a boy's laugh. He asked, "When are you coming to my temple?" Still thinking it was Kandhan Gurukal, she explains she was not able to go over to the temple the week before as she was at Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia. When she told him that he replied that he knew and that he was aware and had even given her his darshan! He continued by reminding her, "You had come to Sangameshwarar Temple long back and done Tharpana at the Thriveni ... remember?" She told him that she could not remember that temple. He helped her recollect, "Bhavani .... with Maheswari", but she still could not recollect.
Kandhan gave her a mobile number, that of one Saravana. He tells that the priests at Nattadreeswarar Temple will return soon and asked her to call Saravana immediately. He stressed to Jnana Jyothiamma that he wanted her there and cut the call. She called that number. A man picked up the call. She tells him how she came about having his number and the reason for calling him. Without a moment of hesitation he tells her it must be Lord Muruga himself and speaks about Lord Muruga welcoming Agasthiyar, holding a parrot and would fill her in on its significance when they meet in person.
Jnana Jyothiamma queries him on the name of the temple and what it has got to do with Thriveni. He replies that it is Nattadresswarar Temple. Jnana Jyothiamma now taken aback on hearing this informs him that it was only a week back that Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal had visited the temple with his disciples referring to my family, me and others. He surprises her further that he was the person who ferried the group across (us). He invites her over too. He instructs her to be there by 8 am in the morning so that she could witness the libation rituals or Abhishekam. She finally asked him what his name was and he replied, "Saravana," This conversation took place between 10 - 10.30 am on 24 October 2013.
After receiving the invitation from Saravana, Jnana Jyothiamma was contemplating on going to this temple either in January or February of 2014, corresponding with the Tamil month of Thai, but suddenly it became apparent that there was an urgency that she should be there for the Karthigai Deepam festival on 17 November 2013!
She had called Saravana again but sensed it was a different person this time. The man on the other end addresses himself as Senthil. She asks for Saravana but he asks Jnana Jyothiamma why she had not come over yet. He continues relating to her his well laid out plan. He tells Jnana Jyothiamma to make her way to a particular hotel once she was in Erode. Someone will fetch her to Kangayampalaiyam the next day where all arrangements have been made for her to participate in the Abhisekam or libation ritual at Nattadreeswarar Temple. The caretakers of the temple will be attending the festivities. She can meet them. She can choose to either follow the temple priests over to the mainland during lunch break or she can have her lunch at the temple. She can participate in the prayers later that evening before she is sent to the Erode bus stand to board the bus back.
We were both amazed and puzzled. We could not make sense of the calls and the callers. It was all so mysterious.
Just before she leaves her home on the night before Karthigai Deepam on 16 October 2013, she gives me a call to say she was leaving. The next day I receive a call from her. She tells me she was already at Nattadreeswarar Temple in the company of Agathiyar. The Abhisekam had concluded earlier in the morning.
On arrival back at her home she messages me on fb on 18 October 2013.
... back just now .. time 23.40 ... Monday. Had to postpone my ticket, as I just couldn't make it back the same day. Will either send you a detailed message/ mail or will get on SKYPE after a day or two. I need to take some rest. Lord Muruga gave me his Darshan. Our coolest daddy too.
After having a brief rest she messages me again on 20 October 2013 recalling this extraordinary spate of events that took place at the Nattadresswarar temple. She mentions that it will take a week or so for her to recover completely from exhaustion due to the very intense experience at Nattadreeswarar Temple!
She goes on to clear the air about the confusion over the callers, Saravana and Senthil. Saravanan Manikam Shivachariyar, who accompanied Tavayogi and my family across Kaveri, says that he did not speak to Jnana Jyothiamma on the number she called the very first time, given to her by the mysterious caller, Kandhan and added that it was not his number. It was only the second time that she called, just two days prior to her going over there, he says he picked up her call and conveyed the plans for her to arrive early to participate in the Abhishekam and regarding what she had to do. When she showed him the number and time of the call, he just brushed it aside, gave a laugh and said, "It is Lord Muruga's game."
She takes us back to the moment of arrival at Erode earlier. On arrival at Erode at 9 pm, she was astonished to find Thiru Chandrashekar, President of the Temple Trust and its secretary, Thiru Gandhi waiting for her. They accompanied her to a hotel close by where reservations had already been made for her. They informed her that the senior Gurukal would accompany her to the temple and asked that she be on the river bank by 7 am the next day. The next morning she took a cab and got off at the river bank. A very senior priest and a lady were waiting for her. The priest and she got into a coracle while the lady remained behind. Just as the coracle started moving, the senior priest told her that he had been informed of her arrival, to perform some rituals, by Lord Murugan the previous night and was also instructed to accompany her.
After listening to what he had to say, she asked him, "Does Lord Muruga speak to you?" to which he replied that in his lifetime, this was the second time Lord Muruga had spoken to him where he heard his voice. He adds that Lord Muruga had revealed that she has had received Dheeksha from Agathiyar directly. Lord Muruga was obviously referring to Jnana Jyothiamma receiving Dheeksha at Kallar on 20 October 2011.
On reaching the temple shore the senior priest proceeded towards the temple where he immediately beckoned two priests along with his son Saravana Manikam Shivachariyar, and gave them instructions to start the Abhishekam for Lord Muruga first, then Agathiyar and followed by Lord Shiva. These rituals were over within an hour and a half. There were very few devotees in the temple besides the priests and two committee members. She was led downstairs where breakfast was served. After breakfast was over, the devotees left and Jnana Jothiamma was left with the priests. The senior priest told her that she could rest on a chair near Agathiyar's sannadhi, as it would be very calm and peaceful upstairs. It was around 10.30 am then. After she makes a call to me in Malaysia, and just as she thought she would close her eyes for awhile, suddenly out of nowhere, a squirrel jumps onto her lap and into Agathiyar's Sannadhi. That is when she hears a voice coming from inside Agathiyar's Shrine calling out to her "Magale Magale". Before she could open her eyes, she was instructed not to do so. Agathiyar gave her some messages!
At 4 pm, a huge congregation of people gathered as preparations were made for a massive Yagam or sacrificial fire pit a short distance away from Agathiyar's Sanctum. Saravanan Manikam Shivachariyar explained the significance of the massive Yagna. He said they conducted this Asthra Homam on Kartigai Deepam on Agathiyar's directive, where all the temple committee members and the owners/builders of this temple were the only ones allowed to witness.
Jnana Jyothiamma narrates the history of the erection of the temple.
I'll now tell you a brief history what was narrated to me later by SK Mayilswamy's grandson, Sarath, a cute lad of 15 years and looks exactly like Lord Muruga. SK Mayilswamy (SKM) is a leading cattle fodder businessman in Erode. His great great grandfather was the one who cut and carved the rocks and built a small temple and on the instructions of Agathiyar. Originally this entire premise where the current temple now stands was one huge massive rock in the middle of the river. Long before Agathiyar came here, Lord Muruga had been here doing Tavam. Agathiyar had made a Shivalinga using the sand from the river bed and had installed in this place and was worshiping this Linga. This was three Yugas back. Agathiyar gave instructions to SKM'S great great granfather to build the temple structure. He built the structure of Lord Shiva, renovated later by SKM'S grandfather. SKM built the current structure.
A few steps if you proceed towards the left from Lord Shiva's shrine, you can see a flight of steps leading down. At the basement of these steps is a huge rock, where Agathiyar had sat and meditated to attain the Siddhi "Mahima" in order to help him balance the earth on the south side of India as instructed by Lord Shiva. SKM while renovating the temple, did not cut down this rock but had instead built a huge room surrounding it. Both of us, Sarath and myself meditated there for a while. No one is allowed to go to this room downstairs near the rock. Just behind Lord Shiva's Shrine, there are three idols of Lord Balaji and his consorts made of juices extracted from herbs including extracts from the Aathi tree, treated and made into these idols. Everyday these idols are cleaned with oils that has been extracted from the Aathi tree, which is in the temple premises for more than 3000 years.
The Yagam performed by Saravana Manikam Shivachariyar started at 4.30 pm witness by about 30 people. Jnana Jyothiamma says she had never seen nor heard of such an intense and massive Yagam performed on such a grand a scale and magnitude and intensity as this. It ended at 6.30 pm, and was followed by Abhishekams to Lord Muruga, Goddess Amma and Lord Shivan. Here is when another miracle takes place. Jnana Jyothiamma explains in her words this mystical event.
It was during the end of Lord Muruga's Abhishekam that Lord Muruga gave me his "Kazchi" It is not a Darshan he gave me. It was his Kazchi. The Effulgence was BLINDING and I almost fainted. It was just a few seconds and the Effulgence disappeared. This Kazchi was right inside his "Karuvarai" and on top of his head. I couldn't stand nor even see anything clearly after that. Everything looked glazed.
Later she helped the other ladies light 1008 Deepams which was customary here before the main Deepam was lit at the Temple Gopuram.
She writes about that moment too.
What a magnificent sight to behold! The air was filled with the chants of Aum Nama Shivaya ... Hara Hara Mahadeva. This locale, the abode of the Gods ... glimmering with the Deepam Lights and the Beaming Gopuram with the Jyothi. In the stillness of the night, the only sounds heard were the high pitched tones of the people praising the Lord ... Nattat Ayya ... Nattat Ayya ... Arunachala Ayya ... Aum Nama Shivaya. The flow seems endless .... keeps going on and on ... Never in my life had I witnessed eight Abhishekams and a massive Yagam, all in one day. Four Abishekams of mine in the morning and four Abishekams of Sarath's in the evening.
This was followed by the day's last puja and all the rituals were over at 8 pm. Upadesam by the senior priest and Annadhanam followed. As Jnana Jyothiamma bid farewell and mentioned her gratitude to the senior priest for waiting on her at the river banks and escorting her over, the senior priest surprised her saying, "I came to the temple early today as it was Karthigai Deepam. Maybe Agathiyar came with you." He blessed her with the following parting words, "You can come here any time you want. This is your home. Your father is here."
He had Selvaraj Gurukal pack some food for Jnana Jyothiamma which he did promptly, and had him accompany her back to the mainland. She narrates what awaited her as she boarded the coracle again.
All I knew was I just entered the coracle and lay down as I felt extremely sick. After a couple of minutes, Selvaraj Gurukal woke me up and helped me to get out of the coracle and helped me to my car. All through the crossing of the river, I felt my head was placed on the lap of a woman. On alighting, I asked Selvaraj Gurukal where was the lady who was travelling with us. He replied that there was no lady who came along with us. He said, "Amma, only three of us were there. Me, you and the ferry man".
She later called Selvaraj Gurukal to thank him for all the services he had rendered to her while at Nattadreeswarar Temple and asked if the senior priests had accompanied her in the morning, as he (the senior priest) had mentioned earlier, that he did not. That is when she is met with another astonishing news. Selvaraj told her that she came alone. She asked him further, "But inside the temple he was giving you all the instructions for the pooja?" He replied, "Yes Guruswamy was giving us the instructions, but you entered the temple alone." Jnana Jyothiamma was bewilded! "Now who was the senior priest who came along with me in the morning? Who was the lady who was standing with him and she did not enter the coracle?"
I started this blog with an amazing story, that of Molly Menon, who came in search of Agathiyar and found him. That very first post was dated Sunday, 28 July 2013. Agathiyar personally gave her teecha in the confines of the Dhyana Kudil at the Sri Agathiyar Gnana Peedham at Kallar. A few days later she was provided a Jeeva Nadi reading in which Agathiyar confirmed all that had taken place earlier. She went back home to the USA only to return after a year to participate in the Sarva Dosa Nivarana Maha Yagam held in conjunction with Agathiyar's Jayanthi and Guru Puja, conducted by Tavayogi Thangarsan Adigal at the ashram grounds at Kallar. Since then she had travelled many miles gaining insights and experiences, walking the path of the Siddhas, till Agathiyar finally asked her to stay away from the public's eye and continue her tavam. Agathiyar blessed her with a new name too. Henceforth she shall be known as Jnana Jyothiamma. She will emerge a saint in years to come, to lead others too on this magnificent path, the path of the Siddhas.
Almost two years on, Agathiyar performs another miracle on another soul from abroad. I was brought to tears (of joy) reading her mail where she narrates her experiences and how the most compassionate father, Agathiyar, brought her to his fold just as he had brought Jnana Jyothiamma from abroad to his side.
I shall step aside and let KP personally take you on her magnificent journey of discovery.
My salutations to you. My name is KP. I hail from the southern most tip of Africa, namely South Africa. I got your personal email address off your blog when you kindly provided it to another devotee. I sincerely apologize in advance for using it, it is not my intention to invade your privacy in any way.
I am a frequent visitor on your blog and I thank you profusely for being the instrument which led me to Agathiyar. My story is extraordinary, having said that, I believe every person fortunate enough to experience Agathiyar, would have an extraordinary story.
Your writing is truly magnetic and the manner in which you selflessly share the personal experiences of your journey and your knowledge to educate us tiny atoms is sincerely admirable. The wise Agathiyar has certainly chosen an exceptional soul to impart the work of the siddhars.
The purpose of my email is to humbly seek your permission to share my story with you, on a private platform (perhaps on this email address), and given that you are so far travelled on your journey with the divine one, any insights or thoughts you may have, I would be most grateful to receive. Blessed Regards, KP
She wrote again later,
Thank you for your prompt reply. I have been documenting some of my experiences of late, in the form of a manuscript, like a story particularly for my kids because I want them to understand how rare and amazing these experiences are and for myself, so I can read it over and over to feed my soul. I attach it as a word document and I apologize in advance for it is a long read.
Again, I must thank you for being instrumental in guiding me towards this path. I am aware that you have played this role in the lives of many and you may see this as part of the work during your journey. For me however, you will stand out as a flag, one that signalled the path ahead for a major life change, one I am immensely grateful for.
I refer here not just to finding your blog and the connection to Kallar, but largely to the education I have gleaned from your writings. Warm Regards, KP.
Each time she wrote I was bewilded by the amazing feats Agathiyar was showing through her.
My apologies for the delay in replying. You are most welcome to post it on the blog. I am sure you will edit it as Agathiyar would have you do it. I am very social media shy so perhaps you could give me an alias.
Since finding the path in February, I have read many personal experiences shared by Agathiyar devotees and I longed to have an experience of my own. If sharing my experience with others all over the world results in them finding Agathiyar and the siddhas; we can all return to him (Agathiyar) in our next birth.
I would love to have shared photos or video footage but astonishingly I have none. This is another reason why I had to document it, it is almost as if I was meant to "feel" the experience and not rely on a visual memory of it.
However, having said that, something I did not mention in my previous email, Agathiyar, in the reading, bestowed upon me the responsibility of building the new ashram. After my reading Thavayogi Thangarasan Adigal asked me to "set foot" on the cleared piece of land where the new ashram is to be built, before I was to leave Kallar. This is the only picture I have. Perhaps I am supposed to look forward from here on or see the new ashram as the new beginning for me as well, I do not know, but this was the only visually captured memory I came away with (photo attached).

I am aware that you were bestowed with the same calling when the present ashram was being built. If you do not mind, I would like to revert to this conversation to seek your divine advice and guidance.
To digress a little bit, I wanted to share another little miracle that has occurred since returning from India. My dear father in the reading asked me to read books by Yogi Ramiah.
A kind swami we met in Arunachala mentioned he would help me find the books in South Africa.
After returning home, in my prayers I asked Agathiyar why he had put me on a continent so far away from him and the people who knew him. It felt disconnected, distanced and lonely.
Soon afterwards the swami emailed details of the person I needed to contact to assist me with finding the books. I called the lovely lady and arranged to meet with her. I arrived at her place of work and was swept off my feet. The room was identical to the waiting room at the ashram in Kallar. Babaji, many siddhas, swamis and Agathiyar graced the walls of the room. The place looked like an ashram. She offered me her personal copy of a Yogi Ramiah book and went on to tell me about the yoga she teaches in that very room. It was not just yoga, she was a kriya yoga teacher. I knew exactly what was happening, there was no question about it. I knew I had to bring the yoga in at some point but it was arranged for me, my kriya yoga teacher was chosen. She amazingly was initiated by Yogi Ramiah himself.
I had been doing the yoga for a few weeks now. My dear yoga teacher invited me to a satsang which took yesterday. This was held at the yoga studio. I did not know what to expect. Again I was beyond surprise. Her guru from out of town was present, together with other devotees. I was to find out that they were devotees of the siddhas, they not only knew of Agathiyar but they had prepared to perform a homa for Agathiya and the other siddhas yesterday. I had been invited to a sacred prayer for the saints in my very town. I am still astonished. I was introduced to the warm and friendly guru who, unbelievably was initiated by Yogi Ramiah and Babaji. Needless to say I no longer feel disconnected, distanced and lonely. I was shown and taken directly to the place and people I am to walk with. My dear father …. Until the next time, have a great day further. KP.
And here is her beautiful journey of sheer astonishment and marvel.
Towards the end of February, 2015 I stumbled upon a blog, quite by accident, or so I thought. I subsequently learnt that there are no coincidences or chance experiences, as we often perceive them to be. The photos of the Agathiyar Gnana Peedam in Kallar caught my eye and from that very first visual, I experienced a physical energy vibration under my skin, which flowed through my body. This was accompanied with a spinning sensation at the top of my head (crown chakra). It felt strange at first.
For the days that followed I frequented the site with increased curiosity. Again, I followed the links and arrived at the ashram in Kallar. I viewed the prayers and visually absorbed the statues and the inside of the temple with piqued interest. Each time I indulged myself with these visits the vibrations I experienced became more intense. I remember little else other than the distinct knowing that I had to go there.
Now would be a good time to mention (again) that I live in South Africa, yet, it did not appear to be an irrational thought to go to Kallar at all. I did not dwell on this desire for long. I conferred with my husband about my experiences and an unexplainable feeling to go the ashram far across the world from us. My longing to go was not challenged. He immediately trusted my instincts and supported my mission.
By the 3rd of March (only a few days later), he had booked us two tickets to go to India. I promptly embarked on planning an itinerary with great zeal. On the 6th of March, upon checking, I discovered that our passports had just expired. The 9th of March (a Monday) we frantically applied for new passports. I did not panic and knew unexplainably all will be well, a reaction unfamiliar to me. The new passports were produced and ready for collection within a week (around the 16th - 17th of March). We fetched them without delay and applications for visas were submitted. Visas were granted (around the 24th - 25th of March) and all documents were in order by the 27th of March with only a weekend to spare before our flight to India, departing on the 30th of March. We managed to pull all of that off in less than a month.
The night of our impromptu journey arrived. We boarded our flight timeously, but had to sit through a one hour delay while baggage and other flight contents had to be re-loaded to apparently, balance the weight on the aircraft. I buffed off this technical hitch as a much bigger mission absorbed my attention. My husband however, was concerned that the delay may result in us missing a connecting flight from the UAE to India. The flight staff assured us this would not happen given their airline was delayed and our connecting flight was with their airline as well.
Our delayed arrival in the UAE however, did result in us, including many other passengers missing our ongoing flights. For us, missing this one flight resulted in missing another from Chennai to Coimbatore as well. The drama that usually follows when negotiating with airline personnel went into action. All other outgoing flights were fully booked and the next flight available to us was some time the next day. Our appointment and requirement was to not just be in Coimbatore, but in Kallar by 9h00 the following day, a Wednesday to have the Jeeva Naadi reading. I astonished myself once more and did not panic.
After much collaboration and negotiation the airline managed to accommodate us on an earlier daytime flight to Chennai to enable us to catch another flight with another airline to Coimbatore on the morning of the reading. (Our original plans were to arrive in Coimbatore the night before and take a leisurely drive to Kallar in the morning).
We arrived in Coimbatore on the Wednesday, 1st of April and departed from the airport a little after 8h10. There was no time for a hotel check in hence we headed straight to the ashram in Kallar. The driver had heard of the ashram but was not sure of its exact location. After driving for some time we decided to make a quick stop to buy garlands and fruit to take to the ashram. We stopped again several times during the drive to ask for directions and local people were happy to show us the way. We arrived at the steps of the Sri Agathiyar Gnana Peedam and began our ascent to the ashram. I looked at my watch at this point and it was, miraculously, 9h00. There was no rational explanation as to how we surmounted the many obstacles to get there at 9h00…
We reached the ashram, washed our feet and stepped into Agathiya’s holy abode. We had come all the way from the very tip of Africa to a remote place we had not heard of a month ago. It felt surreal. Thavayogi Thangarasan Adigal had just begun his prayer. We participated and gratefully took his blessings at the end.
After a while, we introduced ourselves to both Marthaji and Thavayogi Thangarasan Adigal, who were expecting us, as we had previously communicated telephonically and via email. Marthaji wrote down my husband’s name in a notebook. These would be the names of people who would have a reading on that day. She explained that he (my husband) could have the reading, which would benefit the family as a whole, and I would be called in when the reading was being explained/translated. I had no idea of how the process unfolded but I accepted this.
We sat and waited patiently, with others, in the comfortable waiting room. We were blessed that the waiting room was cool almost as if it had it’s own cooling system. It was incredibly hot, temperatures we were not used to. In our hurry to get to the ashram we did not take water or anything to drink and after some time, thirst began to knock.
During this waiting time I admired all the pictures and paintings of Agathiyar which graced the top end of the waiting room walls. I silently communicated to him that I was not exactly sure how this reading process goes. I expressed my confusion as well as my delight at being there. I reminded him that I had come all the way from South Africa because of some gut feel and some energy vibration and that I was beginning to see question marks relative to receiving the answers I sought or having a reading. I then firmly asserted that I was not leaving there that day without an audience with him.
My communiqué with the revered saint was put on pause when the lovely lady who cooks at the ashram brought out cups of a beverage for all the people in the waiting room. I am still unsure what the beverage was, it was like steaming hot tea; the most delicious hot drink that had the magnificence of having a refreshing and cooling effect. The welcome drink took care of thirst, hunger, heat etc. for the rest of the day. I marveled at how all our needs were being synchronistically accommodated.
Minutes before it was our turn for the reading, my husband turned to me and conferred, that the trip was about me and my experiences and that we had come all the way because of my instincts to be there hence I should have the reading, and that whatever came out of the reading would still be applicable to us as a family. I listened in silence. I did not oppose his view either, but wondered if such a change could be requested. I looked up at the picture of Agathiyar and controlled the urge to go “YES”.
When it was our turn, my husband went in and explained his decision to Thavayogi Thangarasan Adigal and Marthaji. I was readily invited to have the much awaited reading. I sat down beside Marthaji, in front of the highly respected Thavayogi Thangarasan Adigal. My emotions ran high. I did not know what to expect. Some knowledge of readings from internet postings was all I had, which did not serve me then. This was now the real thing. My mind began to run rampant about what was to come. I considered making a run for it but I could not find my legs.
Thavayogi Thangarasan Adigal smiled warmly, disarmingly, magnetically pulling my mind and thoughts back to a level of calm. He together with Marthaji began a casual conversation around my country of birth, the people, the culture, languages etc. quickly pulling my attention back to reality and a minimal level of composure. I could easily have a conversation around such areas of interest. I was still unaware of the magnitude with which the impending reading was to change my life, irreversibly.
The guru picked up the sacred instrument gifted to him by Agathiyar and began to read ….. Marthaji began to write….
The reading is in Tamil. Guruji reads a bit. This is followed by a disarming smile. He stops and enquires if I understand Tamil. I ashamedly confess that I do not. He comforted my anxiety saying that he would explain in English once the reading was done. He continued with the reading. There was that smile again. My confusion stepped up a notch. I beat myself emotionally for not being able to understand my ancestral language.
“You are kali from abroad”, he translates in English. (He probably recognized my restlessness and translated bits of the reading before the end).
I struggle to comprehend this, although he communicates this in English.
“Agathiyar says, he has been calling you from abroad”
My disorientation escalates, tears well up in my eyes and a mammoth lump takes hold of my throat.
“Agathiyar says he has been calling you from abroad for your future spiritual upliftment”.
Relief flooded over me. So there was a “calling”. I was responding to something, I thought hurriedly. We were barely two minutes into the reading when I received the biggest shock in my life. Actually this news could easily be the biggest shock in anyone’s life.
Agathiyar says “You are his daughter. He knows everything about you but you do not know about him”.
I am blindsided with guilt. This is true. I have only just discovered him, I thought sadly. I am unable to respond to this. I began to grapple with tears, confusion, disbelief, loss of words, incoherent thoughts and an undeniable sense that something mighty had brought me to Kallar.
The reading went on to reveal the following:
A bit about my work .... previous birth .... Agathiyar confirmed in the reading it is time for me to reconnect with my spirituality ..... A bit about my good husband .... I must pray to his statue. And he will save me .... I have a good spiritual line ...... I still have some karma to work through hence I was provided some remedies, temples I had to visit, the Kalyana Theertham being one of them, the Agathiyar Falls and a few others.
I was left trembling, tearful, choked, disoriented and still confused. I struggled to comprehend any of it. Although I had heard it, I still had a desperate need for it to be true. I wondered if I was asleep. I needed time to digest it. I was relieved that my instincts and experiences were indeed that of a “calling”. I was expecting to be told of a “calling” on some level but I never dreamed of having known the dear saint in a previous life, moreover as an adopted daughter. It left me reeling in bewilderment, amazement and wonder. The revelation felt like an electrical reboot to my system. To say this was a “life changing” experience is perhaps an understatement.
A few days into our journey, we made our way to Agathiyar Falls, the Kalyana Theertham and one of Agathiyar’s caves. Our driver approached the town, fetched his elderly uncle who lived in the area, and drove on towards one of Agathiyar’s mystical wonder abodes.
On arrival we noticed the clear sky, the large shade providing trees, the clean fresh air and the surrounding mountain terrain which were breathtaking. The water spilled over the fall with absolute glory, drenching and splashing devotees below with it’s energizing prowess. I wondered in disbelief how the drop of the fall and the speed at which the water gushed over, did not present any danger to the believers below. The devotees below were not only safe but were having the time of their lives. My husband showed me to the side of the fall for woman and went off to the opposite side for men, to have a massage under the falling water. I treaded over the rocks carefully, gingerly making my way towards the water. At first I stood at a far end where I was able to get drenched but little water splashed over me.
A lady passing me advised warmly, “Go and stand over there ma, you not getting the real water to fall over you”. Someone had noticed. I moved cautiously further on until I was directly under a full flow of water. (It is interesting to note here that Manju Harsha Vardhan of Bangalore was guided by a similar lady to another spot away from where she was taking a bath. Surprisingly she spoke Hindi to Manju, which she understood - Editor).
It felt invigorating, and …… quite safe. I closed my eyes and gave myself to the restorative, calming, karma releasing therapy I perceived it to be. The water flowed over with the gentleness and affection a parent gives a child. It felt as if someone standing at the top of the fall was tipping a vessel of healing energy over. It was mesmerizing. When I felt ready I stepped back a few steps from the fall, to behold it’s beauty. I absorbed it’s sheer magnificence. It filled my eyes with it’s majestic, divine beauty. I was in awe and grateful that I was given the opportunity to experience it’s blessings.
My thoughts moved to noticing a beautiful yellow butterfly flying towards me. I followed it’s movement with keen curiosity. It flew towards me, circled the top of my head and flew off downstream. I mentally communicated my gratitude and delight at being there and asked for guidance for the rest of our travels.
After a quick change of clothes we made our way up the long, welcoming steps (I am told 100 steps), to visit the Shiva Temple, Mother Krishnaveni’s home and the Kalyana Theertham. Midway up the steps, I began to feel muscles in my legs I did not know I had. The fierce India sun was grinning with all it’s might. Again, these were temperatures unfamiliar to us, but I was acutely aware that this too was part of the karmic penance to accept. I acknowledged the sun’s strength and accepted it’s challenge.
We arrived at the top after the arduous climb and paid our respects to all the deities. The Kalyana Theertham disseminated a celestial, powerful spiritual energy, which I had recently read. Being there radiated an energy within me on a deeply personal level. This view all around was breathtaking. There was the sweet sound of flowing water in the stream below the Theertham, the glorious mountain terrain extended far into the distance, the beauty of the surrounding trees and greenery, the brilliant blue sky on that day and the magnificent sun giving life and energizing everything below. Who would not want to live here? (The same thing Jnana Jyothiamma said too - Editor)
During this time, we realized we were alone. We were told one of Agathiyar’s caves was in that vicinity but we were unable to find it. After much searching we gave up on finding the cave and made our way back down the gruelling 100 steps.
Back at the waterfall, all the way down the steps, we are informed by a Park official that the cave is “up there” however we would need to take a guide to go up with us. We were exhausted and silently wondered how we would manage another round up. The enthusiastic guide was ready to go convincing us that we had to see the footprints of Agathiyar in the cave.
We were back on the steps. I chose to ignore the sun’s effort to beat me again. I continued to focus on the reward, the cave. We arrived at the top once more, the guide moved towards the stream and pointing across the stream briefly explained the route. It sounded dangerous, scary, and almost impossible. We were already beyond exhaustion and close to dehydration. The driver backed away declaring that he would not be joining us. My husband and I looked at each other, our analytical minds racing to establish a logical, rational decision. It was not the time for a logical, rational decision. We had decided. We motioned the guide to continue and we followed.
We hopped over rocks bare footed which felt to the feet like a griddle. I imagined the sun laughing with glee in response to me accepting it’s challenge. The terrain became more mountainous and the rocks became more difficult to scale. The guide picked up his pace being familiar with this trek. The climb demanded the use of hands, feet, legs, knees, using one’s buttocks, stomach etc. sliding, climbing, jumping, crawling etc. After approximately 20 minutes on the trail, I could not feel my lower body. The perspiration melted off my face. I struggled to move forward. Each time we enquired, the guide responded that we were almost there. This was his response around five times.
As we continued, we caught sight of the driver. He had unbelievably changed his mind, and decided to follow us. He made good progress, got ahead of us and caught up with the guide. My husband was closely ahead of me. By this time he had already had a few slips, slides, cuts and bruises. I was taking strain. I began to question my decision to embark on the quest, which now appeared beyond my physical and mental capability. My thoughts became scrambled. I had started to lose focus on my goal, reaching the cave. I constantly thought about the return journey which hampered my mental stamina to move forward. I felt delirious. The guide saw me falling behind. He threaded backwards towards us. He got to my side and began to guide me through every step forward, literally. He told me where to step, where to slide, where to grab hold of a branch, where to jump, where to crawl etc. He encouraged and motivated me with every step I took forward. From this point on, all I could hear was his voice. I did not know it at the time but a divine intervention was in place to get me to the cave.
While this went on, the driver Ramesh miraculously finds a little packet with camphor and match in it somewhere on his path, in between rocks. Again we do not realize the significance of this extraordinary find until much later. A few meters away from the cave, the guide left, got into the cave and used the match to light up the camphor to illuminate the cave.
By this time, I had again slipped into despair. Both my feet were in a narrow ravine and both my hands clung onto a branch just above my head. I was in a physically safe place, where I unintentionally chose to break down. I cried hopelessly clinging onto the branch, although there was no risk of falling. I told my husband that I had given up and would not get any further. I asked him to go on without me. I had literally given up. I was disappointed and angry with myself for failing to make it to the cave. I felt weak and disempowered. I was pushed to a point of near collapse. My thinking and brain functioning appeared to have shut down. My thoughts were few and muddled. My helpless weeping went on.
My husband tried hopelessly to get me to let go of the tree and drag myself forward. He tried to take hold of my hands. I still clung to the tree. He asserted that the cave was really just a few meters away this time. I did not believe it. He tried desperately to get my attention. “You can do this”, he stressed. He tried to point out how close we were to the cave. He reminded me that this was just a physical hurdle, and I had succeeded with more complex hurdles before. I continued to weep.
My husband relented, turned around on the rock and asked me to get onto his back. He was going to carry me to the cave. I comprehended his intention and was astonished. I thought it was ridiculous. He was as exhausted and beat as I was but he was willing to carry me to the cave. I am unreservedly grateful to have a husband who would offer to do this for me.
I paused the weeping. A feeling of physical and mental strength rose within my body. I looked ahead and could see more rocks and greenery as opposed to doom. I took my husband’s hand and dragged myself forward. There were a few dragged steps, a few climbs before we joined the guide and the driver who were already at the cave.
I put my arms around the rock outside the cave placing my head on it. Perspiration melted off my face, which I have never experienced in my life. I was completely overwhelmed. I got to the cave but there was a force, a power, and an unquestionable energy, which carried me there.
The cave was illuminated. The guide pointed to the footprints inside the cave. They were distinctly visible and of a small footed person. I was awe struck. I peered in and around the cave and could not believe being there. It felt like a fantasy. There was ash around the footprints. The guide pulled some of it towards him together with some dried flowers and handed it to me. Writing this today, some days later, I still wonder if I had really been there. Although I felt emotionally and physically exhausted I distinctly remember the feeling of bliss, peace, tranquillity, contentment, serenity …… a sensation of being far removed from the trials of the earthly plane and human birth…..
It was a taste of something, dreamlike, intangible….
It was hard to believe such a place could exist on earth.
The journey back to the Theertham and to the bottom of the steps was astonishingly, “a hop, skip and a jump”. I needed absolutely no assistance and it took less than half the time than getting to the cave.
Going to the cave tested my mettle on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to burn, perspire, crawl, weep, struggle, suffer etc. to atone for my karma. It was by far the most invaluable lesson in my life, guided by the divine wisdom and compassion of some extraordinary souls who walked beside me selflessly on my journey of karmic penance.
Before leaving I acknowledged the mighty sun for showing me some grace and relief without which I surely would not have succeeded.
This is the era of the Siddhas, we are told. We suddenly see an emergence of interest in the Siddhas and their works too.
Sri Velayudham Karthikeyan has a blog Siththan Arul at http://siththanarul.blogspot.com that carries numerous posts revolving around the mystical Jeeva Nadi of Agathiyar and the Siddhas. These stories are mind blowing and an interesting read. Saravanan Palanisamy of Malaysia has sketched and painted numerous illustrations to accompany these amazing stories.
Agathiyar has been providing readings to guide and advise mankind through the Nadi, in the possession of selected individuals too.
I have been posting portions of my Nadi readings initially held close to my heart and rather private, on this blog, I thought it was time I shared them, although I had to do some extensive editing before I could post it. Each time I went for a reading, I sat with awe and anticipation thinking what Agathiyar and the rests of the Siddhas would have to say. Even after having read the Nadi 50 times, the feeling was still the same. I was just as excited as I was the very first time.
If one follows the many Nadi readings and the revelations and guidance from the Siddhas, he will not fail to see a pattern develop here. Maybe it is specific for this particular individual or it could also relate to others, that, readers have to vouch after going through these Nadi revelations.
The Siddhas break the ice by revealing information very close and intimate to us, that even the Nadi reader cannot possibly know. Once they have caught our attention, they begin to tell us why we are here. We being here in the very present is because of our actions in the past, they tell us. This could be the actions of the immediate past or those done way back in time. Or it could be an accumulation of several actions through the many births that we had once taken.
An individual is first brought to the knowledge of the existence of these documents called the Kaanda Nadi most commonly found in India in the possession of several individuals from certain families. Many have been handed these treasures, passed on by their forefathers while others have been blessed to have received them in mysterious ways.
Initially we are told that the Nadi is a document written some many years ago for every individual on the face of the earth, including those yet to be born. It is more than a premonition or prediction of the individuals future. It is a revelation of one’s past lives too, implying that there is access to these past records and that they are available somewhere out there, said to be the Akasham. It would then mean that every word said and every action done by the individual is recorded carefully and stored away to be referred to at another moment in time. Now why would that be done, unless there is reason to refer or need to use these records. Recording in detail one’s life must surely have some purpose. The next course of birth is said to be dependent on these records. They ascertain or determine the next birth or one’s future. These records could also be in the medium similar to celluloid or movies where a particular frame is called up and previewed to ascertain what took place in the past.
By revealing the existence of the Nadi and its contents, a well documented and preserved piece of work, we are shown our past, present and the future. As we tag along we realize that it is more than a document purportedly revealing about an individual, etched out on strips of dried palm leaves some time back in the past by the munis, rishis and sidhas, but a means of communication too. The palm leaf on which these revelations are written, only act as a medium for the Siddhas to pass on their messages. These then are the Aasi Kaandam or Jeeva Nadi. Undoubtedly, the Siddhas could come in more than one ways to a devotee to relay their message, but here, they chose to communicate through this medium.
The Nadi is still a mystery to me. This mystery will only be revealed in all its entirety if and when I am blessed to come in possession with one when gifted by the Siddhas. They would also need to teach us how to decipher their messages.
Its heartening to know that the Nadi is put to good use by all parties. Many people have come to know of their existence and have made their way seeking out these Nadi often frequenting those places where a reading is offered.
Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal was a successful merchant dealing with clothings at Thirupur until his calling came. He left behind his family to manage the family business while he began to seek enlightenment. He was 50 years of age then. After several years of wandering he was directed to Kallar by Agathiyar.
The Peedham in the initial years
He stayed in a makeshift hut which slowly grew into the present day Sri Agathiyar Sri Thava Murugan Gnana Peedham Thirukoyil & Dhiyana Kudil.

With the number of devotees seeking Agathiyar’s blessings and his Arul Vaaku, or revelations in the Jeeva Nadi, Agathiyar has graciously provided for another alternative site through his devotees to house his Peedham. A good samaritan had purchased the 2 acres piece of land on the Ooty-Methupalaiyam trunk route some 2 kilometres from the present Ashram, and donated it towards the building of the new temple complex.
Excavation of rocks in progress at the new temple grounds
Tavayogi is in the midst of building an ashram cum temple for Agathiyar and the Siddhas at this site. Preliminary earthwork which included removal of existing rocks and cut and fill of the existing grounds was completed and the Bumi Puja conducted recently on 23 April 2015.

The conceptual drawings were made available to Siddha Heartbeat recently. Tavayogi has envision several buildings and facilities and has worked it out with the Architects and Engineers. These include a meditation hall that would sit 500 people and where Agathiyar, Thava Murugan and the 18 siddhas will be housed too; a temple for Lord Shiva or the Agasthiyalingam; accommodation for visitors to the ashram; the cook house and dining hall; a cowshed or kosala; a garden park to feast one’s eyes on the greenery and those of the surrounding mountains too; and a collection of 27 trees known as vriksham corresponding to the 27 stars or nakshathiram.

Two samaritans have taken up the cost of providing Bhogar's and Tirumular's statue.
Meanwhile we in Malaysia are passing the hat around to help Tavayogi realize his wish to build a magnificent abode for Agathiyar and the Siddhas, that would do us proud too. Members of Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia have pledged to take up the cost of other Siddha statues namely: Gorakkar, Pambatti Siddhar, and of course Agathiyar himself.
Once the new Ashram is completed, Tavayogi will continue the various rituals and activities as carried out currently. Tavayogi had initiated a celebration to commemorate Agathiyar’ s Jayanthi annually and later introduced the 108 Sarva Dosa Nivaarana Maha Yagam, or sacrificial lighting of the fire pit as the highlight of the two day festivities.

With coverage of the Kallar Ashram through the many social media and television networks and by way of mouth and recommendation, the number of devotees frequenting Kallar Ashram on Full Moon days, the annual Agathiyar Jayanthi and Guru Puja days, and who come for a reading of the Jeeva Nadi in possession of Tavayogi has outgrown the capacity of the existing temple cum ashram premises.
Siddha Heartbeat thanks Vendhar Tv for the beautiful coverage of Kallar Ashram and the good soul who posted it on Youtube.
Sri Velayutham Karthikeyan had highlighted the Jeeva Nadi in Tavayogi's possession on Monday, 29 July 2013. I reproduced that too below:
