BHOGAR'S JAYANTHI

As we celebrate Bhogar's Jayanthi today, 13 June 2015, Barani Natchathiram in the Tamil month of Vaikasi, it brings great joy recalling my visits to Palani and Bhogar's samadhi. I have always considered Palani as "Twilight Zone" for its many mysteries.  

On this day, let us recount the many amazing accounts of Bhogar coming to the aid of his devotees as revealed to the late Jeeva Nadi Guru of Chennai, posted by Sri Velayudham Karthikeyan on his blog Siththan Arul.

Once Agathiyar delivered a private message for the Nadi Guru forewarning him of an incident that was to take place later in the evening. Agathiyar revealed, “A man shall approach you this evening at 6 pm. Although he looks like a vagabond, he is rich and a great devotee of Shiva too. However, he does not have peace of mind. As a reason he left his family. Certain miracles are about to take place in his life after he returns from here.” 

Just as Agathiyar had forewarned in the Jeeva Nadi, a man appeared at his home at the said time. The man could hardly walk straight. The man enquired if he was the Jeeva Nadi reader. The vagabond then held out a small bottle. The Nadi Guru took a glanced at the label on the bottle and was taken aback. It was a pesticide and was only half-full. He looked at the man and realized his mouth was frothing. The Nadi Guru enquired what had happened to him. The man replied that he had consumed the poison. The Nadi Guru felt a chill go down his back. To the question as to why he came there, the vagabond replied that he wanted to see the Nadi. 

“What? In this situation?” questioned the Nadi Guru. 

“Why not? Would not Agathiyar answer?” was his reply. 

When the Nadi Guru asked that he seek medical treatment first, the vagabond adamantly stood fixed and insisted the Nadi be read. No amount of coaxing would make him leave the place to seek medical aid. 

When the Nadi Guru refused to read the Nadi for him, he said that he only wanted him to find out from Agathiyar if he would survive or not? 

“Just ask Agathiyar this question and I shall be on my way,” he said. 

The Nadi Guru who was greatly disturbed made him sit down and rushed to have his bath and prayer before returning with the Jeeva Nadi. Agathiyar revealed a secret to the Nadi Guru. 

“This man is a devotee of Shiva. He came up the hard way in life and made his riches in a very short time. He is married but does not have a child. The relatives used this issue to separate the couple. He left his home some time back without anyone’s knowledge. The families, thinking he had died, are in the midst of dividing his wealth amongst them. He had travelled to north India and now has sought me.” 

Agathiyar added that he would live. The Nadi Guru told the man that he should survive. The man replied that he did not believe it and to the Nadi Guru's horror consumed the remaining portion of the pesticide. “I have consumed the remaining poison, now how can I survive?” he argued. 

He was out to prove Agathiyar wrong. Not knowing what to do, the Nadi Guru rushed to his prayer room and returned with some Palani Navabasana Murugan Vibhuti Prasad and Sandhana Kappu Prasad that he had. He gave it to the man, asking him to consume the Prasad. Surprisingly the man did as asked and left the place. 

When the Nadi Guru reminded him to head for the hospital he replied, “Why should I? Agathiyar has said that I shall survive.” 

The Nadi Guru could not sleep the whole night long, thinking about what had transpired that evening. He sat for prayers at 3 am and asked to know if the man was still alive. Agathiyar in the Nadi replied that he was hale and alive. He also mentioned that the man was cured of his stomach ailment, which he had had for the past twenty years. 

“Moving about as a vagabond eating all kinds of things, subjected him to a stomach ailment. He had sought medical attention but was not cured. He seeked out some Siddhas in Kollimalai to relieve him. After taking these herbs, he was better but not fully cured. Finally, he came to me. He had strong faith on me. As he was a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva, I decided to cure him but he resorted to drinking the poison when he could not bear the stomach pains. The Navabasana Vibhuti Prasad and Sandhana Prasad that you gave him cured him completely. The Navabasana countered the poison and acted as an antidote for his stomach ailment. Otherwise it would have led to cancer.” 

Just as Agathiyar ended his revelation in the Nadi, a group of people gate crashed into the Nadi Guru's home with weapons. They looked like hit men. 

“Where is the vagabond who was here last night?” they questioned the Nadi Guru. 

The Nadi Guru tried to calm them down. He invited one of them who seemed to be their leader to take a sit. He questioned him as to why he was looking for the vagabond. The leader refused to divulge but kept asking about the vagabond’s whereabouts. He questioned the Nadi Guru on the vagabond’s purpose and reason to come to him. The Nadi Guru narrated what took place the night before. 

After listening to what had transpired the night before, the leader seemed interested in the Jeeva Nadi and asks if Agathiyar could reveal everything. He asked the Nadi Guru to find out from Agathiyar if the vagabond was alive. He revealed that he had to deliver the vagabond to someone in return for money. The leader then took a seat and turned to his followers and asked them to take a seat too. 

The Nadi Guru took up the Nadi. Agathiyar revealed about the leader instead. 

“He sought to search out for the man in return for a huge sum that would aid in his daughter’s eye operation,” said Agathiyar. 

The Nadi Guru told the leader what Agathiyar had mentioned in the Nadi. The leader immediately fell at the feet of the Nadi Guru and started to cry. He acknowledged what Agathiyar had mentioned in the Nadi as being true. 

The Nadi Guru put forward a proposal to the leader that if Agathiyar could show another way out of his predicament, would the leader give up the idea of looking for the vagabond. 

Agathiyar revealed more. 

“In the past birth a kid had lost his eyesight due to the leader’s action. As a result, his daughter was losing her eyesight in this birth. Even if he resorted to carrying out what he had come for, his daughter would not regain her eyesight.” 

Then Agathiyar stated three conditions if she was to see again. First: the leader was to change over a new leaf. Second: he was to seek out a Siddha in Kollimalai. Third: he was to serve in an orphanage until his life’s end. The leader agreed to do the first two but explained that he could not carry out the third because he was married to three wives and had to support them. 

Agathiyar provided the remedy in the Jeeva Nadi, "If the juice of the 'Nethira Thosa Nivarthi Puspam', a flower that bloomed once in three years in Kollimalai, was applied to the eyes and on the head daily, his daughter would regain her eyesight.” 

Agathiyar added that a Siddha at Kollimalai should provide for this unique and rare flower. 

“Carry out this treatment for ninety days. She will regain her eyesight. She would not need to be operated on. Leave for Kollimalai immediately”, instructed Agathiyar. 

Hearing this, his followers objected to him leaving for Kollimalai before finishing their ‘business’ since they had already received payment for it. 

The leader motioned one of his followers to come forward to seek the Nadi too. Agathiyar revealed about him too. He too was asked to seek out the Siddha in Kollimalai for a remedy for his wife’s ailment. Hearing this, the follower too began to cry. He acknowledged that what Agathiyar had revealed in the Jeeva Nadi was the truth. 

Both of them told the Nadi Guru that they were leaving for Kollimalai immediately and left the premises. 

Some time later, the Nadi Guru was keen to find out what had happened to the vagabond and those hit men. 

Agathiyar answered, “The vagabond who left the family and ventured to the north had made numerous reports to the police regarding his safety. That is how the family came to know that he was still alive. One of the family members engaged these hit men to ‘finish’ him off. Unfortunately the one who sent out the hit men is admitted in the hospital and is in a very bad shape. Now the family had repented and have accepted the vagabond.” 

After a few months, one of the hit men arrived at the Nadi Guru's door with his family. They fell at the feet of the Nadi Guru. This man’s wife had recovered fully. The Nadi Guru was told that the other man’s daughter too was cured and he had taken up Siddha medicine, became a practitioner, and took it upon himself to help all those who were in the same predicament. 

The hit man narrated what had taken place in Kollimalai. After looking around the Kollimalai hills for the Siddha mentioned by Agathiyar, in vain, the men laid down to rest under a tree. Suddenly an old man tapped one of them and asked him by his name. The hit men were amazed how this stranger knew their names and how he identified them correctly. He asked both of them to follow. The old man then led them to a hut. He told both the men respectively that the wife and daughter should be cured with the medicine that he was giving them. He handed one of them an extract of a plant in a bottle to apply on the eyes of his daughter and assured him that she would begin to see in thirty days. He asked him to come back for more if needed. To the other man, he handed an herbal preparation in a powder form to be taken with honey. His wife’s heart problem will be cured in twenty-seven days, the old man assured him. The men handed him some money, which he refused to accept saying that the money was taken to exterminate someone and that he did not want ‘stained’ money. He went into the hut and did not come out for a long time. The men peeked into the hut but there was no one. They waited awhile longer but since he did not turn up, they eventually returned home. 

The Nadi Guru enquired if they went back to the Siddha again. He replied that they went to Kollimalai again but there was no hut at that spot and they did not meet the Siddha. When they enquired those who frequented Kollimalai, about the Siddha and his hut, to their surprise, were told that they had not come across any hut or Siddha there. 

The men were ready to fulfil Agathiyar’s remaining directives. Agathiyar directed them to recite the Surya mantra on Sundays for six weeks and assured them that on the sixth week they should both land a job. They will be required to part with a portion of their wages each month, which was to be given to an orphanage to feed its children. They left the Nadi Guru, thanking him, Agathiyar and the Jeeva Nadi. 

The Nadi Guru approached Agathiyar to find out who the Siddha was. 

“That was my disciple Bhogar. He carried out my wishes and had dispensed the medicine to both of them personally”, came the reply in the Nadi. 

Agathiyar added, “Bhogar still lives and moves around in Kollimalai. If one prays to Bhogar for assistance, he shall take the form of a Siddha practitioner and treat them, cure their illnesses and save them. The other Siddhas in Kollimalai are his disciples and their treatment is effective too.” 

To another question from the Nadi Guru, “How can one identify Bhogar?” Agathiyar explains, “Bhogar shall have a twinkle in his eyes. He shall emit the aroma of tulasi herb or jawathu essence vibhuti.” 

Many months later, the vagabond, who left his family and ventured into north India, and later challenged Agathiyar by drinking poison, and eventually returned to his family, stood in front of the Nadi Guru with his family. He had survived the encounter with the poison. He was reunited with his family who had repented for their misdeeds towards him. He had willingly donated a third of his property to an orphanage. 

I saw a similar sparkle in Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal's eyes as we left Lord Muruga's sannadhi and Bhogar's samadhi at Palani. He turned around towards me and enquired, "Yenna Magane?", after seeing me in bliss. I just walked up to him, and laid my head on his chest, thanking him silently for bringing me over to "Twilight Zone".

In another episode, Bhogar reveals a cure for aids. Agathiyar most graciously delivers Bhogar's remedy for Aids to an individual who seeked out Agathiyar's Jeeva Nadi. Agathiyar explains the human body is susceptible to 4128 diseases of which Aids was listed as 3798th.

Agathiyar instructs him to carry out atonement for each member of his family to remove their past karma and only then to undertake a journey to Sathuragiri or Pothigai where certain herbs were available for preparing the Siddha medication prescribed by Bhogar. The individual took his family to Sathuragiri as instructed by Agathiyar hoping someone will deliver the cure. But no one was of any help to them. After 45 days someone delivers a note to the late Jeeva Nadi Guru of Chennai from that individual mentioning that he had run out of cash and food and nearing death, but he and his family are adamant to stay on until the family was cured.

After 25 days the Jeeva Nadi Guru is told of a miracle that took place at Sathuragiri.

The family had decided to end their life as no one could help them with identifying and preparing the herbal portion as per Agathiyar's directive. That is when someone resembling Agathiyar and another person like Bhogar appeared to the family of four and directed them to follow them into the deep jungles of Sathuragiri where they prepared the medicine for them and had them consume it. The medicine put them to sleep. Upon awakening the family realized they were in Sundaramahalingam Temple at Sathuragiri!

After 3 months, the family appeared before the Jeeva Nadi Guru, hale and healthy and cured of Aids and alive to tell their tale.

Sri Velayudham Karthikeyan, administrator of Siththan Arul, once narrated his personal experience with Bhogar at Palani, to me. Here is a translation of his amazing encounter.
Bhogar's Jenma Natchatththiram is on 27.5.14. My relative and I had been there last year (in Palani for the event). Before leaving, we prayed that Bhogar should give us his darshan. He came!
I did not realized initially. As I looked up while answering a question from my relative, someone walked pass me, his eyes fixed on me. There was a sparkle in his eyes. I wished him. He gave a smile and nodded and continued walking past me. We were sitted on a bench at that moment.
Realizing that I did not realize who he was, he walked some distance and stood there as if doing something. Since there was a large crowd, I did not heed him then. 
When we moved to another spot, again he passed us looking at us as he walked by. He disappeared around a corner behind us. Only then did my relative and I realize the significance of the moment. We gave chase. But he was no where to be seen. I became disappointed since I had missed a good opportunity.
Then I thought to myself. I had asked for a darshan. He had given me what I had asked for. I should not be asking for more nor should I regret. That was the compassionate Bhogar.
Karthikeyan concluded with a description of how Bhogar appeared to him, "Aanaal nalla uyaram. Thejasaana sareeram. Aazhntha paarvai", that is, "But he was tall, a body of Thejas, and a deep penetrating look."
குரு போகர் uploaded a mantra of Bhogar, if chanted, will enable one to get Bhogar's darshan and blessing. This mantra is from BHOGAR JANANA SAAGARAM.

THE SONG OF BLISS (PART 3)


Thayumanavar (1706 – 1744) was a Tamil philosopher and Hindu saint who propagated the Saiva Siddhanta philosophy. He wrote several hymns of which only 1,454 are now available. His first three songs were sung 250 years ago at the Congress of Religions in Trichinopoly. Thayumanavar's key teaching is to discipline the mind, control desires and meditate peacefully. About the human being and his mind, he remarked, “It is easy to control an elephant, catch a tiger's tail, grab a snake and dance, transmigrate into another body, walk on water or sit on the sea; but it is more difficult to control the mind and remain quiet.”
… the dharmakartha of the sacred Vedaranyam temple welcomes Muthukrishnan Naicker, the king of Trichy. The grand reception impresses the feudal ruler so much that he makes the temple official his minister. In course of time, the minister marries, and in answer to his prayers a son is born and named Thayumanavan. Meanwhile, Muthukrishnan Naicker passes away. Soon after, the brilliant Thayumanavan is appointed minister by the king’s successor. Thanks to his brilliant ideas, the kingdom advances in several aspects, but the minister’s mind is ever after seeking the philosophical meaning of life. When one day the king asks him about a famine in an area of the kingdom, Thayumanavan squeezes a cloth and the arid area gets rains aplenty!
This miracle understandably astonishes the king and he recognises the greatness of his minister and becomes his disciple. Soon Thayumanavan begins visiting sacred places, meeting people and teaching them values. He prevents animal sacrifice to appease the gods and while on a visit to Rameswaram hit by famine he brings rains through his prayers. Soon he sheds his mortal form and is revered as Saint Thayumanavar….

Thayumanavar lets us on a secret - the reason for taking birth again and again and hence shows us a way to end this cycle of birth.

வேண்டா விருப்பும் வெறுப்பும்  - அந்த 
வில்லங்கத்தாலே விளையும் ஜனனம் 
ஆண்டான் உரைத்த படியே  - சற்றும் 
அசையாது  இருந்துகொள்  அறிவு ஆகி நெஞ்சே 

Birth arises because of our likes and dislikes. As the guru spoke, be still.

னாகிய மேனியில் அன்பை வளர்த்தேன்

Detaching myself from the senses,
I suppressed them,
And fostered my love
For the body that is He;

Unto opening the flood-gates of the Ocean
My twin eyes streamed in tears of joy;
My body horripillated in ecstasy

Thou art not the earth

My Lord, indeed, is dear unto His devotees
He is Truth embodied;
He is the Silent One of Bliss
He is the Gracious Master Guru;
He placed His Feet on my forehead;
I knew myself
And became dead to my mind. (Chorus)
இறப்பும் பிறப்பும் பொருந்த - எனக் 
கெவ்வணம் வந்ததென் றெண்ணியான் பார்க்கில் 
மறப்பும் நினைப்புமாய் நின்ற - வஞ்ச 
மாயா மனத்தால் வளர்ந்தது தோழி - (சங்கர) 11.
When I think of it
How this birth and death came to me,
I realized,
It is all by this wily mayaic mind,
That alternateth between remembering (1)
and forgetting (2)

மனதேகல் லாலெனக் கன்றோ - தெய்வ
மவுன குருவாகி வந்துகை காட்டி
எனதாம் பணியற மாற்றி - அவன்
இன்னருள் வெள்ளத் திருத்திவைத் தாண்டி - (சங்கர) 12.
Into my mind as the Wild Banyan Tree,
He came, the Silent Guru Divine;
And with His hand gesture (of Cin Mudra)
Erased my Karma entire;
And in the sweet Waters of His Grace;
He placed me;

அருளால் எவையும்பார் என்றான் - அத்தை 
அறியாதே சுட்டிஎன் அறிவாலே பார்த்தேன் 
இருளான பொருள்கண்ட தல்லால் - கண்ட 
என்னையுங் கண்டிலன் என்னேடி தோழி - (சங்கர) 13.
"See thou through the eyes of Grace", He said;
Knowing not how to do it
I saw through my knowledge, differentiated;
And I saw nothing but darkness then;
Even I, the seer, was not seen to be;
How strange is all this!

என்னையுந் தன்னையும் வேறா - உள்ளத் 
தெண்ணாத வண்ணம் இரண்டற நிற்கச் 
சொன்னது மோஒரு சொல்லே-அந்தச்

"Think not 'I' and 'Thou' as Two;
Stand as One in union inextricable"
All these, He said in One Word;
But how shall I describe the felicity
That was of that Word born?

வெட்ட வெளிநண்ணித் துட்ட இருளாங்

The fertile land of Sivananda Bliss
To that Vast Void I went;
There I uprooted the evil weed of dark ignorance
And then I looked round again;
I saw nothing else
But the Lord's beauty

கண்டார் நகைப்புயிர் வாழ்க்கை - இரு 
கண்காண நீங்கவுங் கண்டோந் துயில்தான் 
கொண்டார்போற் போனாலும் போகும் - இதிற் 
குணமேது நலமேது கூறாய்நீ தோழி - (சங்கர) 16.

Likes and dislikes arise
From that compulsive impediment (birth and death)
Life but shapeth as the Creator Ordaineth;

Is there no one to recognize me?
In the body-land where none knoweth me

Forgetting why I came,

In the allurement of women, gold and land;

The lust for women of sword-sharp eyes
Will feed the fire of Death's ways in the body;
It is realizing the truth of this
That the God of Love himself gave up his body;

விதிக்கும் பிரபஞ்ச மெல்லாஞ் - சுத்த

All the expansive world of matter created

THE SONG OF BLISS (PART 2)

It is said that Ramana was emotionally moved when he read verses by Thayumanavar to the extent he would not be able to continue further.
" ... when he came to a very moving part he would get so choked with emotion that he could not continue but would lay aside the book."
Just as Lord Muruga came to save Arunagiri from his fall from the temple tower at Thiruvanamalai and subsequently instructed him to be still, "Summa iru", Thayumanavar too was similarly instructed by Arul Nandi Sivachariar.

Thayumanavar,
"... his search for a teacher ultimately led him to a man called Arul Nandi Sivachariar, who was also known as ‘Mauna Guru’. This teacher could trace his lineage back to the famous saint Tirumular, whose book, Tirumantiram, written well over a thousand years ago, became one of the canonical works of Saivism. When Thayumanavar approached him and asked if he could become his disciple, Mauna Guru nodded his head, thereby giving his consent. Thayumanavar then asked if he could follow him wherever he went. Mauna Guru responded by telling him ‘Summa iru,’ which can mean ‘Be still,’ ‘Be quiet,’ and also ‘Remain as you are’. This one phrase apparently brought about a major spiritual transformation in Thayumanavar. In later years, when he began to write ecstatic devotional poetry, he frequently mentioned this event, this phrase, and the effect it had on him. He frequently called it ‘the unique word’ in his verses."
Although the word 'Summa iru' uttered by a Guru can bring "immediate and liberating impact on those who are in a highly mature state", Ramana says "conscious deliberate effort is required to attain that mauna state or the state of being quiet", the reason being, "All the age-long vasanas carry the mind outward and turn it to external objects. All such thoughts have to be given up and the mind turned inward. For that, effort is necessary for most people." 

Ramana adds that the exception is for those who have had placed the necessary effort in their previous life. For them it is possible to "achieve the mauna or supreme state indicated by ‘Summa iru’" at once. 

Just as Ramalinga Adigal entered a room in 1874 in Siddhi Valagam and have his devotees lock him in, Thayumanavar too in 1742 withdrew into his hut leaving a message pinned to the outside of the door. The message read (translated) :
Dear friends, Withdraw the mind from the senses and fix it in meditation. Control the thought-current. Find out the thought-centre and fix yourself there. Then you will be conscious of the divine Self; you will see it dancing in ecstasy. Live in that delight.
That delight-consciousness is the God in you. He is in every heart. You need not go anywhere to find Him. Find your own core and feel Him there. Peace, bliss, felicity, health – everything is in you.
Trust in the divine in you. Entrust yourself to His Grace. Be as you are. Off with past impressions! He who lives from within an ingathered soul is a real sage, even though he may be a householder. He who allows his mind to wander with the senses is an ignoramus, though he is learned.
See as a witness, without the burden of seeing. See the world just as you see a drama. See without attachment. Look within. Look at the inner light unshaken by mental impressions. Then, floods of conscious bliss shall come pouring in and around you from all directions. This is the supreme Knowledge; realise! Aum! Aum

THE SONG OF BLISS (PART 1)


Dr. B. Natarajan writes on Thayumanavar and his devotional songs, 
The songs of Thayumanavar bring high solace to life; to hear them is to elevate life and soul. To live them is to enjoy the highest Bliss in spiritual consciousness. They are dynamic song - thrills that spark out of the Bliss centre. Even a song a day will do to elevate human life towards Divine transcendence. 
Thayumanavar, is an out and out scripture for Saints and Yogins. It covers the entire field of Yoga and Jnana. It brings high solace to house-holders purifying their mind and heart. It feeds the flames of inner communion in real Yogins. 
The songs of Thayumanavar are sublime music of the Soul, the song of the inner Spirits, and sparks of Divine Essence. 
The Dr writes about his self-reflections as a kid and how he came to know about the saint.
The World was my open book and Inner quest my deep study.
Who am I in the vastness of cosmic phenomenon?
The Mystery Car of Time takes me round changeful seasons;
Destiny leads the play of Life blind-folding me in self-oblivion.
"Who am l? What am I? Whence am I ?
What is beyond the entry and exit in this amphitheatre of Existence?
Who feels in the senses and thinks in the mind and dreams in my fancy?"
Such were my self-reflections during my school days. I kept aloof from home, society, and noisy crowds taking delight in inner communion. Home and school resented my dreamy mood and crazy solitude. One day I was treated harshly by my kith and kin. I ran for refuge to the temple and there hugged the feet of God. I surrendered my life into the hands of the Divine Grace. 
"0 Grace, I take refuge at Thy feet. Lead me to Light from this dark vale of tears. Reveal to me the mystery of life and its mission. Keep me here to fulfil that mission and call me back to be with Thee". 
I sobbed in a frenzy of spontaneous fervor. I felt a warm current traversing my heart and brain and a descent from above which continues to this day. I was reborn in the Grace and could now understand the meaning of life and the language of the soul.
I sat in a dark corner of the temple forgetting body and world when a song attracted me to the lotus tank nearby There, in the bright moon light, some monks were singing together a song that touched my soul.
"The Silent One possessed me in Silence and poured into me a speechless word that was the seed of wisdom. That word, O friend. had a magic effect on my life. It hushed up the mind and opened my heart to silent embrace of the Divine".
So on went the song which brought me peace and joy. I learnt from the monks the song and for the first time knew about its author, Sage Thayumanavar.
I secured a copy of his works and treasured it in my bosom. The Songs of Sage Thayumanavar became the guiding light of my life. I still believe that the Divine Grace gave a silent friend to my Pilgrim Soul.
The songs of Thayumanavar removed my gloom and solved my mental problems. It unravelled the riddle of existence. Each line was a message and each message a vision of Truth. Each truth was a spark of intuition and each intuition had a transforming force. The style of Thayumanavar was limpid, simple, straight, bright, profound and sweet. It flowed from the abundance of Soul's delight in rapturous union with the Beloved. Every hymn is a gem of divinity. It is an enchanting flute-voice of the soul that touches all souls.

Jnana Nigandu Suksma Aasi Nadi Reading


This latest Nadi reading sums up the nature and spiritual status of Jnana Jyothiamma. We at AVM are blessed to be associated with her.

AVM was blessed to make the acquaintance of many noble souls, some directed by Agathiyar in their Nadi readings, while others came on their own. Jnana Jyothiamma herself has blessed AVM twice. For sometime now, we at Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM) have been wondering why Agathiyar had brought us, devotees of his, together. On the pretext of joining in prayers at AVM, we could sense that there was some kind of networking taking place among aspirants on the Siddha path. 

Agathiyar provides the first glimpse of what is to come, or arise from this partnership in Jnana Jyothiamma's recent Jeeva Nadi reading.



A SIDDHA IN THE MAKING PART 7

Agathiyar wanted his child to serve him. He let her live her life out while he patiently waited for her. After the demise of her husband and her responsibility towards her only child was  over, he decided the time was right to bring her back to his fold and path, and rope her in on his massive mission. 

She was an ardent devotee of the Goddess and Karupanasamy. She was an ardent devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba too. Each time she returned to her homeland in Kerala, she never failed to stop over and offer her prayers to the Goddess in Chennai. She helped towards installing a seven feet tall statue of Karupanasamy at her temple too. She made a journey to India in April of 2011 to participate in the installation of Karupanasamy and Kumbhabhisekam at this temple and left shortly back for the USA. Watch a video of the prayers performed here at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjL9vnPpxbk

She had just returned to the USA after participating in the rituals at this temple, when while skimming through the net on a cold night in the comfort of her home in Minnesota, U.S.A, she was captivated by Agathiyar's photo on Sadhguru Venkatraman's website. (She wrote on June 4th 2015, a couple of days back, recalling this moment, "Now I sit back and think of that night, when my eyes first fell on Sadhguru Venkatraman's Site and I spotted my father, my Guru there... instantaneously") Hence forth started a trail of miracles and astonishment. 

Still browsing the net, she comes across a link to my webpage indianheartbeat.20m.com (Now defunct since I had removed it although a pdf copy of it is available at http://www.scribd.com/doc/156307011/From-My-Travels-in-India) where her eagerness to know about Agathiyar developed in multi-folds. She emails me on 30th June 2011 as follows,
"Greetings to you Sir, I am Mrs Menon. I was reading an article from Agasthiar.com. ..... I read all the articles posted on Sadhguru Venkataraman's site .... when one link led to another and then to another another and finally saw this link ........ My travels with Supramania Swamy. This interested me a lot .... I had for a very long time trying to find out visit Saint Agasthiar's cave. What is this person who is mentioned as Tavayogi. Is he a guide or an Enlightened Master. Then I saw this link which shows ...."email me ". Hence I thought I would email and find out the details of all that is mentioned here. I would also like to know who shanmugam avadaiyappa is / regards Mrs Menon." 
And so started this beautiful relationship between her and my family. Eventually unable to contain her yearning, she found herself reeling back to India and to Kallar after a few months, for the very first time and not knowing what to expect.

At Kallar, Agathiyar magically and mysteriously initiates her. She had planned to spend six months at Kallar Ashram but was made to return to U.S.A immediately, missing the Annual Guru Puja and Jayanthi celebrations in a couple of months. She went back reluctantly to the U.S.A.  

Meanwhile she used to watch the prayers that I conducted for Agathiyar and the Siddhas at Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia via SKYPE from the U.S.A. She returned to participate in the Annual Jayanthi celebrations for Agathiyar at Kallar the following year. Watch the Jayanthi celebrations at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feW3LVVp5zk 

After the annual Sarva Dosa Nivarana Maha Yagam which was the highlight of the two day Jayanthi celebrations at Kallar was over, she left Kallar and traveled to numerous temples and ashrams in India. 

She headed for Papanasam and Kalyana Theertam, where she was invited into Sadhu Krishnaveni Amma’s ashram. It is here at Kalyana Theertam that a stream of light appeared mystically from the sky in broad daylight, following her, blessing her and slowly making its way to Agathiyar and Lobha Ma who are seated majestically on a chariot! Even before she could take in the excitement and digest it, she was brought to the caves in the vicinity. Agathiyar shows her his light form or Jyothi Darisanam in the adjacent caves. 

New found friends bring her along to witness a Yagna conducted at the strike of midnight in the jungles of Kalahasti. Watch this at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptHqTdtXcn4  She is shown an amazing streak of light at the entrance to a temple at Srikalahasti. 

While in Chennai, she frequents the Panchesti temple. A staunch devotee of Lord Murugan, vacates his home in Palani to make room for her where she was in solitude in March of 2013 before Agathiyar instructed her to move to another spot at Kalyana Theertam. Later she moved from Kalyana Theertam too. 

She was called to Vadalur. After having received Ramalinga Adigal's grace, she returned from Vadalur, now even more determined to spread the word of God.

In October of 2013, she pays her respect at Supramania Swami's samadhi and spearheads a massive Annadhanam program at Thiruvannamalai, upon my request, to fulfill his last wish before going into samadhi. At the end of the Annadhanam circuit she is blessed by Ramalinga Adigal at the Sri Navalingam Sri Navasakthi Temple.

Later that day she greets my family and me, upon our arrival at Trichy. After stopping over at Thiruvanaikaval and Sivanmalai we head for Kallar Ashram. She leaves us and joins us in Malaysia again later. 

She arrives in Malaysia a couple of hours after our arrival. She graces Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia. She makes another visit to Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia the following year.

She is mysteriously summoned to the Nattadresswarar Temple in the midst of the Kaveri River at Kangayapalaiyam near Erode where more mysterious and mystical events take place. 

She visits Swamimalai and travels to Agasthiyampalli near Vedaranyam too.

In Chennai, Agathiyar shows his presence again in the form of light at the Panchesti temple which she frequents often. Just hours earlier she is showered mysteriously with the sacred ash brought in by a gust of wind to everyone's surprise and amazement.

Finally Agathiyar  places her under house arrest in yet another place not to be disclosed as yet under his strict instructions. Occasionally she was instructed to leave the "fortress stronghold" for several places to observe certain austerities and rituals. She is still living in solitude under the watchful eyes of Agathiyar while the Siddhas work on her and attend to her needs.

She wrote to me, 
Kallar was Agathiyan's CALL ... Nattatreshwar Temple was Murugan's CALL ... Vadallur was Valallar's CALL ... Thiruvanamalai was SHIVA'S CALL ... (Also Vallalar).  The Direct Experiences I had with the 'DIVINE" in all these places.... Definitely was in another plane.. I could confirm this after my last visit to your place and the happening there... To Quote Mahi... "I think that room (Pooja room) was another Portal for those two hours OR Agathiyan must have erected Screens ... SO VERY TRUE..
Agathiyar opened his eyes to see all those who had gathered and for all to see too during Jnana Jyothiamma's visit to Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia. We are blessed indeed.

A SIDDHA IN THE MAKING PART 6


The above is a compilation of photos taken throughout the spiritual journey of Jnana Jyotiamma that started many years ago. Siddha Heartbeat thanks Dr VM Jayapalan of the Agathiyar Mei Jnana Sabai, Bangalore for permission to use the audio track in this clip. Agathiyar Arul Kavasam was penned by Dr VM Jayapalan, set to music by Subramani and sang by Sandhya. A lovely piece on Agathiyar. The Dr introduces the album.

Wherever she went, the Jyothi followed her. It all began at Kallar in the confines of the Agathiyar Gnana Peedham without anyone's knowledge. Jnana Jyothiamma wrote, "During my dheeksha .. if you remember I had mentioned to you .. that he ball of light first started to get activated from the nape of my neck (pons region) .... and traveled thro the other kalas and thro my ajna chakra .... "

Later Agathiyar made his presence known at Kalyana Theertam, where it was a column of light that started from out of nowhere, began to move over to her and finally merge with Agathiyar and Lobha Ma. She is then shown a Jyothi in the adjacent caves.





She writes about the spectacle at Kalyana Theertam.
"Regarding the Light falling on me at Kalyana Theertum, it was moving externally towards Agathiyar. It was as if this beam/ Light was falling from above. I come to understand and feel, this as a Pure Cosmic Light Of The Divine."
"I was feeling as if something was piercing through the top my head, although nothing was visible through naked eye as mentioned by Dr. Ram. He was constantly telling me to keep moving, as he noticed through the camera that the light/beam was moving with me. It was only after I crossed the Chandanam Malai spot that the light/ beam started moving towards Agathiyar. The movement of the streak of light was very obvious in the pictures shot." 
"Initially Dr. Ram was taking the pictures casually. It was only after he saw the light moving towards Agathiyar, he started clicking continuously. One single streak of light became two streaks and both were moving towards Agathiyar and as you could see in the photographs two streaks joined together and there was a gush of Light showering on Agathiyar and Loba Amma."
“These pictures were taken at noon time. Hence the lights were not visible through naked eye. I am sure if this had occurred during night time, the beam/ streaks of light would have been visible and behold ... what a spectacle it would have been."

Later at Sri Kalahasti, it was a streak of light.


At the Matheeswaran temple, a ray of light followed her.


At the Sri Navalingam Sri Navasakthi Temple in Thiruvannamalai again it was a column of light.






While at Siruvapuri temple, she was showered with the sacred ash.




Moments later at Panchesti she was met with a sparkling, twinkling ball of light, in her words, "The exact ball of light I saw thro my Ajna Chakra , when Agathiyan gave me Dheeksha...."



At Nattadreeswarar Temple, in her own words, it was a blinding effulgence.
"It was during the end of Lord Muruga's Abhishekam that Lord Muruga gave me his "Kazchi" It is not a Darshan he gave me. It was his Kazchi. The Effulgence was BLINDING and I almost fainted. It was just a few seconds and the Effulgence disappeared. This Kazchi was right inside his "Karuvarai" and on top of his head. I couldn't stand nor even see anything clearly after that. Everything looked glazed."

A SIDDHA IN THE MAKING PART 2


It is interesting to note that Jnana Jyothiamma had her very first Nadi reading at Kallar in 2011. Surprisingly the transcribe of her Nadi reading painstakingly recorded by Mataji Sarojini Ammaiyaar subsequently went missing from her table at her apartment in the USA. 

When Agathiyar directed Jnana Jyothiamma to go into solitude, I too removed all material relating to her from Siddha Heartbeat. But Jnana Jyothiamma wanted to listen to Agathiyar speak through the Nadi one more time. Agathiyar obliged her by granting an audience for Jnana Jyothiamma and revealing many amazing, mesmerizing and incredible revelations in a Jeeva Nadi of his in 2014. After a solid five hour rendition of the Jeeva Nadi, Agathiyar again revealed a further 1 hour 40 minutes of reading in the next session.

Jnana Jyothiamma with the grace of Agathiyar, has humbly made some portions of the Nadi reading available to Siddha Heartbeat.

I believe a wish of mine has come true. I had always wanted a darshan of Agathiyar and Ramalinga Adigal. Wanting to witness someone/anyone repeating the same feat as Ramalinga Adigal did. Then along comes Jnana Jyothiamma through whom Agathiyar works miracles for all to see.

Agathiyar is currently moulding her into a Jnani, occasionally giving us glimpses of her spiritual advancement and subsequent flowering into a guru in the very near future. My family and I are a witness to many miraculous events that are taking place in the life of Jnana Jyothiamma and are blessed to follow her evolution into a spiritual figure. My family and I are blessed to have made her acquaintance, and given the opportunity to witness the workings of Agathiyar and the Siddhas on her. Just as the saying goes, “Poovudan serntha naarum  manakkum”, which means the string that holds the flowers together as a garland will take on the aroma of the flowers too, we are praying that we might be showered with the rain spatter by just watching her mystical journey. She was humble enough to share every single moment on this path with me during the hours and hours of conversation that I had with her.

Taking a bold step forward, Jnana Jyothiamma seeked to know more about Agathiyar and the Siddhas and had the courage to ask, listen and venture into unknown territories. She least expected what was to come her way. Neither did I. As a film director captures the attention of his audience with a spell binding opening scene to his movie, so did Agathiyar enchant and fascinate her with his very first darshan or presence at Kallar. What took place behind close doors and known only to Agathiyar and Jnana Jyothiamma, was later made known officially and endorsed through the Jeeva Nadi reading at Kallar after a few days of the initiation.

Agathiyar later brought Jnana Jyothiamma to the attention of the world through an amazing spectacle he showed at Kalyana Theertam. Henceforth began a journey of sheer amazement and astonishment. Wherever she went the Siddhas showed their presence openly in the form of light.

As she took one step at a time, time and space slowly revealed to her what was in store for her.

A SIDDHA IN THE MAKING PART 1

Let the following amazing, miraculous and magnificent moments captured on film describe the nature and standing of the person I am about to narrate here.














Born in Kerala, studied in Chennai and having migrated to the U.S.A, she was ever guided by the Divine Mother and Karupanasamy. Her spiritual journey started many years ago where they revealed the mysteries behind many happenings and occurrences to her. Having worked on her, in 2011 they decided to hand her over to Agathiyar, once she completed a temple for Karupanasamy in Chennai. It all culminated when she went to the Sri Agathiyar Gnana Peedham at Kallar to know more about Agathiyar. 

At Kallar, she was mysteriously and mystically initiated by Agathiyar. After her initiation at Kallar she was forced to return to the U.S.A. A year later she came back to participate in the Annual Jayanthi and Guru Puja ceremony and celebration for Agathiyar at Kallar. Leaving Kallar, she is called to Siddha samadhis, caves, meditation spots and temples in and around Karamadai, Papanasam, Kalyana Theertam, Kothaiyar, Palani, Vadalur, Erode, Thiruvannamalai, Trichy, Krishnagiri and Chennai. She journeyed to Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia twice. After returning from Malaysia, she was placed under “house arrests” and still stays in isolation on the directive of Agathiyar. She is still in solitude with only the company of the Siddhas, often visiting her, caring and providing for her.

During this period of isolation Agathiyar revealed many things about her and her mission through his Jeeva Nadi besides other means. After the transcribe of her very first Jeeva Nadi reading of 2011 at Kallar Ashram went missing while back in the U.S.A., on October 13th 2014 she was blessed with an amazing five hour Jeeva Nadi reading, and subsequently another two readings on November 18th.

She was directed to go on a pilgrimage of several temples and perform numerous pujas, before she returned to her "cocoon". Further Jeeva Nadi readings were revealed to her.

Just as a butterfly emerges from the pupa after many months of incubation, just as the grizzly bear goes into hibernation only to awake once the winter is over, just as Kumbakarna sleeps it out for months only to emerge again one day with magnanimity, Jnana Jyothiamma will soon blossom into a spiritual leader, master and guru after this period of transformation. The most compassionate Agathiyar has revealed about Jnana Jyothiamma through the many revelations and messages in these Jeeva Nadi readings. 

She writes to me, "HE IS NOT A SAINT‏, HE IS NOT A SIDDHA‏, HE IS NOT A SAGE‏, HE IS PARAM PORUL. This message must reach the masses through your writing and through my reading ... who the Siddhas are and what they expect and will do and what they can do."


I shall share with readers of Siddha Heartbeat her messages and those of Agathiyar too as and when Agathiyar and Jnana Jyothiamma deem it fit, right and proper to reveal.



THE BODY, A TEMPLE

Sri Raghavan posted a beautiful piece on fb.

The body is a living temple.
And breath the highest offering to the deity,
With every outgoing breath,
You offer a part of yourself to the Universe,
And with every incoming breath,
You partake the blessings of it.

As you go deeper within this body temple,
You may find many exquisite sights and sounds,
Which are aimed to distract you from the main deity, 
Once you get trapped with this unearthly beauty,
That is it!

This is where the Guru comes in,
By his wisdom and grace,
He leads you to the inner sanctum,
Walking just a step ahead of you,
So it's easy for you to follow.

When you stop here or there,
To gaze at the magical sights,
He calls out to you by your name,
Or pulls you by your hand,
Saying, "Move on, this is not it!"

When finally the Guru and disciple,
Both reach the inner sanctum of the self,
The Master gladly unveils the deity to the disciple,
By lifting the veil of Maya,
And behold what a sight it is - Divine!

Then what the disciple experiences for himself,
Can never be described in truth,
Let alone allow words to capture it,
Love and bliss are best experienced,
In tears and silence,
That's it!

THE BOOK OF PRAISE TO SIDDHAS

A very good place to start
When you read you begin with A B C
When you sing you begin with Do Re Me
Do Re Me, Do Re Me.

Similarly for those keen on following the Siddha Path, 
A good place to start would be 
Singing the Praise of the Siddhas.

Whoever comes to Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal seeking a solution to their problems, he listens to them attentively. But he would refrain from advising them. He would tell them that it was all happening because of their past karma, saying, "Athu unathu vinai payen." Then he moves on to encourage them to pray. He tells them to pray to Agathiyar and the Siddhas, saying, "Agathiyarai potrungal, Siddhargalai potrungal". And he also gives them a reason to pray to the Siddhas, saying, "Potrinaal unathu vinai agalum appa", meaning prayers help shed your karma. One who comes with hope of receiving an advise or two to tackle his problem might return disappointed. But the truth is Tavayogi helps tackle the source of the problem and not the immediate problem on hand, just as a good Siddha practitioner does.

When a Malaysian went for a Jeeva Nadi reading to India, hoping to hear from Lord Muruga if he would regain his money, loaned to someone some 8 years back, he was puzzled that the Lord should give him a mantra instead of an answer. A week into recital of the mantra and on returning home, he receives the money, owed to him, equivalent to Rs15lakhs!

When I went for my very first Kaanda Nadi reading, I too was told to pray to Agathiyar and the Siddhas, besides Lord Vinayagar and Lord Shiva. The Nadi Nool Aasan started me of with reciting the praises of the Siddhas, which I then continued diligently in the comfort of my home. Researching into the Siddhas I came across more songs and hymns towards the Siddhas. Slowly my collection of songs expanded and eventually came to be published online as "The Complete Book of Praise to Agathiyar."

Considering the length and volume of this compilation, I published a 'lighter' version for those on the run, with only minutes to spare. This was "The 24 Nimida Siddhar Pusai" or "The 24 Minute Siddha Prayer".
