If we think our fate is in the hands of God, God's fate too is in the hands of certain authorities and people. The granite statue of Agathiyar that Tavayogi installed in the Kallar hills has been removed by the authorities. The ashram at Agathiyar Vanam in Kallar that Agathiyar pointed out to Tavayogi to set up upon terminating his four years of Tavam in Sadduragiri is in ruins now. We understand that devotees are allowed to Pothigai Peak but no form of ritual is allowed now. What was once a place of convergence of floods of devotees at some point in time becomes deserted, buried, erased, or wiped out. All these point us to the fact that nothing is permanent on the face of the earth even if it was God's wish and desire. He is teaching us something here. If only we could see through the veil of Maya and understand.
Let us not hold on to anything less we are hurt later. Enjoy the moment. Take in the pleasures. Work on the Self or Atma that is forever in existence rather than spend our effort and time on things that shall perish over time. The JeevAtma is divine by nature having its source in the ParamAtma. Acknowledging that we are a part of the whole and that the whole is in all just like in us is all that is required to arrive there. It is not an external journey to be undertaken but one of acknowledging this fact. Once we acknowledge this we arrive where we started.
But we seem to hold the Soul hostage and captive. If we would only free it.
