AGATHIYAR VANAM MALAYSIA PART 2 - TAVAYOGI THANGARASAN ADIGAL

When Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal came to Malaysia to spread the teachings of the Siddhas, on the directive of Agathiyar in 2004, little did he realize the extent of the work he had to put in to bring the Siddha Consciousness to the public across the seas from India.

He then came back again and again. Each time he came he spoke about the same things. This got me to ask him one day, "Why do you repeat the same things Swamiji?" His answer, as usual, gave me a blow. "Are you doing what I taught you? I can only move on if you are following what I taught you earlier!" I realized his answer was not targeted at me but the devotees who turn up to see him each time he comes to Malaysia and go into hibernation nay oblivion only to appear again during his next visit. True to his words I noted that the devotees keep asking the same questions each time he comes.

AVM has been guided and nurtured by Tavayogi right from the beginning. So when Agathiyar started sending wonderful souls to AVM, I asked Tavayogi when he was here recently for a direction at what I should do next and where we were heading. He passed a remark saying, "What is there for me to direct as Agathiyar is directing you." That is the magnanimity of Tavayogi, neither taking credit for his work nor keeping a hold on his disciples. He once told me a Siddha cannot be constrained or be shackled. He never laid rules nor stopped us in anyway. He gave us the leeway and provided the space and avenue to explore for ourselves and experience things.

AVM is very much indebted to Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal and his able assistant and chief disciple Mataji Sarojini Ammaiyar, a motherly figure at Kallar Ashram who looks into the needs of all devotees who knock the ashram doors, without fail, fear or favor, besides running the humongous task of managing and maintaining an ashram.

Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal before becoming a mendicant or turavi, used to be a well-known orator often chairing the many talk shows or pattimandrams that was popular with the public. The talent he had as a proficient and convincing speaker was put to use and maximized now since he takes the stage again, but this time to preach and popularize the path of the Siddhas or Siddhar Margam.

T.K Thangarajan as he was known formally was a successful businessperson managing his cotton industry in Tiruppur in Coimbatore. He was into politics and movies too, having credit for producing two Tamil movies.

He became a disciple of Chitramuthu Adigal and came to be known as Thaaiveedu Thangarasan. He was a devout follower of Agathiyar and the Siddhas.

Tavayogi had seen the worst of times when his business collapsed as a result of politics in India at that period of time; he had to hit the streets with his family; he became blind overnight, remained blind for a year and was on the verge of committing suicide when he formed a determined resolve to believe in Agathiyar and let Agathiyar rule his life as he (Agathiyar) pleases.

He regained his sight; his life picked up and he regained his lost treasures only to leave them all behind voluntarily this time. He handed over the responsibility of managing the company to his son and family and walked out of all the luxuries he had been accumulating.

His travels through India brought him to the hills of Uthiyore, Kolli, Sathuragiri, and Pothigai amongst other sites of Siddhas.

Tavayogi sought out a place known as Agathiyar Vanam in India on the instruction of Agathiyar and finally located it at Kallar on the 9th km of the Ooty-Mettupalayam trunk route at Kallar. He started an ashram that he named after his guru, the Sri Agathiyar Gnana Peedham Thirukovil.

On the directive of Agathiyar and following the footsteps of his Guru Chitramuthu Adigal and Paramaguru Jeganatha Swamigal, Tavayogi accompanied an Indian citizen working in Malaysia, to Malaysia in 2004, only to be locked up indoors while the Indian left for work. Soon Tavayogi found his way to Lord Perumal’s temple in Puchong where he gave his first talk in Malaysia, as instructed by Agathiyar. He was then taken to several Agathiyar based organizations.

He came back again and again to spread the message of the Siddhas.

Tavayogi has helped set up several movements propagating Agathiyar and the Siddha teachings in Malaysia. He was the patron of the first and second World Conference of Siddha Philosophy held in Kuala Lumpur and Chennai respectively.

Tavayogi holds Yoga classes and talks besides conducting prayers for Agathiyar and the Siddhas. He helps feed the poor and gives handouts in cash and kind with financial assistance from the public.

He reads the Jeeva Nadi in his possession every Wednesday and Saturday for the devotees who come seeking for advice and solutions to their life's problems.

With Siddha practitioner, Dr Ram Subramaniam assisting him, they dispense traditional Siddha medicine to devotees seeking medical aid at Tavayogi's ashram every Purnima or full moon day.

Mataji who came to Tavayogi with her own bag of problems was shown to Tavayogi's Guru, Chitramuthu Adigal. Chitramuthu brought a massive turning point in her live where she took up and polished her oratory skills through taking the stage with confidence and backing from Chitramuthu, Tavayogi and Agathiyar. She teamed up with Tavayogi where Tavayogi will be the chairperson and Mataji one of the prominent speakers at Pattimandrams or talk shows held throughout India.

Tavayogi is the author of ANDAMUM PINDAMUM, ATMA GNANAM, ATMA TARISANAM, and ATMA THATHUVAM. Tavayogi will launch his next book at the Agathiyar Jayanthi and Guru Puja that is to be held in December this year. This year this event will be held spanning 4 days beginning at 6pm on 15 December 2016 and ending at 5pm on 18 December 2016 at the new Ashram/Temple complex that is under construction. Besides the monthly Purnima Puja, Tavayogi with Mataji, well wishes and devotees conduct the Sarva Dosa Nivaarana Yagam in conjunction with Agathiyar’s Jayanthi and Guru Puja annually.

Tavayogi extends a personal invitation to all devotees of Agathiyar to attend the Fest.

Tavayogi is in the midst of completing the construction of his new ashram, two kilometers away from his present ashram. This new ashram built on a two acre piece of land will accommodate the growing needs of the many devotees who come seeking Agathiyar for direction and peace.

Most recently Tavayogi and Mataji came to AVM and graced the homes of its members, conducting prayers for the Siddhas and giving talks besides blessing all those gathered.
