YOGI RAMSURATKUMAR

If Tavayogi broke me the very first day I invited him over to my home in 2005 and on my subsequent visit to his Kallar ashram a month later after he returned to India and Agathiyar did the same more subtly over time, reading Ruzbeh N Bharucha's book, "The Fakir - The Journey Continues", Saibaba of Shirdi broke the camel's back trashing my ego even further as I had mentioned in a previous post. Devaki Ma in giving us "Glimpses of her guru Yogi Ramsuratkumar" has brought on a balm that is soothing in the form of clarifications after taking all the beatings. Devaki Ma speaks of the amazing power of the name, which the Yogi used to ask his devotees to sing too. Devaki Ma explains the reason to celebrate Jayanthi for our gurus. Kallar Ashram will usher Agathiyar's Jayanthi on 30 December 2023. If you are in Coimbatore, then please drop in and take in the blessings of Agathiyar and the Siddhas who shall walk the grounds of his ashram on this blessed day.

She recalls her very first meeting with Yogi that I had shared at https://agathiyarvanam.blogspot.com/2016/09/ma-devakis-meeting-with-bhagavan-sri.html

I had been doing some reading on the places of interest in Tiruvannamalai before my maiden visit to India in 2003. Agathiyar had wanted me to be at Tiruvannamalai on the last day of my pilgrimage, asking me to circumambulate (Girivalam) the holy hill of Arunachala. The other condition was that it had to be a full moon day. So, my itinerary was planned to accommodate Agathiyar's instructions. On Day 9 of my pilgrimage (9 September) which was to be the pinnacle of my journey, I reached the temple at 1.15 pm. I had a beautiful Darshan and a pretty close one too of Lord Annamalaiyar and Goddess Unna Mulaiyal. I worshipped the underground (patala) Shivalingam where Ramana Maharishi had meditated. I left for the hotel at 2.30 pm. At 5.30 pm, I walked to the temple from the hotel. I joined the long queue to get another Darshan of the Lord before embarking on the Girivalam. It was a long queue indeed, for I only saw the Lord at 9 pm. At 9.40 pm, I started on the Girivalam path. The full moon began at 10.47 pm and lasted until 10.48 pm the next day (10 September 2003). At 11.40 pm seeking to visit Yogi Ramsuratkumar's samadhi temple, I asked for directions but realized that I was taken further and further away from the Girivalam route. I then decided that I would come back to visit the Yogi's ashram the next day after daybreak and returned to the Girivalam route to continue my walk. On Day 10, after lunch that day, Deva who chauffeured me in India, sent me to Ramana Maharishi’s ashram where I sat in the presence of Bhagawan's samadhi again. Later we left for Yogi Ramsuratkumar’s ashram. Unfortunately, Yogi Ramsuratkumar’s ashram was closed for lunch. My endeavor to step into the presence of the Yogi Samadhi was not to be, it seemed. But what I did not realize was that I had to meet Yogi's student and disciple first before coming to him. Supramania Swami had to come along too. By the grace of God, and as hinted by Agathiyar in my Nadi reading, when I met Supramania Swami after completing my Girivalam, he began to speak about his gurus. He had five gurus namely his father Jayaraman Pillai, Pundi Mahan (Atru Swami), Sandhanandha Swami of Salem (author of Kandhar Guru Kavasam), Kollimalai Swami and Yogi Ramsuratkumar (Visiri Swami). If the autobiography of Paramahansa Yogananda introduced me to the existence of God men, or God taking the form of men, Supramania Swami in introducing me to his lineage of gurus, took me as a disciple and paved the way for me to accept men as God. As I was a temple goer and did home puja to the deities before, he ignited Guru Bakthi in me.

When nearing his samadhi, those administrating to the needs of Yogi Ramsuratkumar forbade Supramania Swami from seeing the Yogi. However, as he was kept out and stood out with the rest of the crowd who came hearing the news, the Yogi asked to see Supramania Swami and spoke a few words before leaving his mortal body on 20 February 2001. The Yogi materialized himself and came knocking on Swami's door at Swami's home in Nachaananthal, some 8 kilometers from Tiruvannamalai town, days after his Maha Samadhi and passed him a portrait of his and left laughing all the way till the sound of laughter faded away as he disappeared into the darkness of the night.

During my second visit to meet him in 2005, Supramania Swami was now residing at his small cottage or Kudil at Thiruvannamalai that we built for him. Swami very much wanted to move from his village closer to the hill and Yogi’s Ashram. So, we built a Kudil which was walking distance to Yogi’s Ashram. From the Kudil one had a beautiful view of the hill. Swami had a small window provided for that enabled him to see the hill while reclining on his bed. But I noticed that he had closed up the window with a gunny sack. When I questioned him, he told me he could not see the hill anymore. His answer was, "It was fire". The Yogi too was of this opinion. He was always saying that the hill was fire. Supramania Swami also told me he was seeing Siddhas moving and roaming on the hill.

Swami brings the Yogi from his Samadhi to join us in chanting his name or Nama Japam. I never fully realized the power of the name of the gurus or masters till then. Swami led the prayer chanting his guru's name (Nama japam). It went, "YOGI RAMSURATKUMARA, YOGI RAMSURATKUMARA, YOGI RAMSURATKUMARA JAYA GURURAAYA". As it was a simple mantra, I followed suit and chanted along. After about a few minutes into the recitation, I thought I heard a third voice - that of a male chanting together. I did not open my eyes. I started to listen harder. I could hear Swami’s voice. I could hear mine too. There was no one else in the Kudil. His wife and son had returned to their village home for the night. Yet I could hear distinctly another voice. So, who was this third person chanting with us? The mysterious voice continued chanting with us. Eventually, after about twenty minutes, Swami ended the Japam, and the voice was not heard again. I had wanted to ask him about this third voice throughout the Japam, but completely 'forgot' about it as Swami made his way out of his prayer room into the living room of his Kudil and I followed suit. Later upon returning to Tiruvannamalai after visiting Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal at Kallar, Supramania Swami asked me, “Did you hear the voice?” triggering my memory back to the first day at his Kudil. I remembered then that I had actually heard a third person sing along with Swami and me. I asked Swami who it was. He gave a loud laugh. He answered, “That was Visiri Matai” referring to his guru Visiri Swami (Yogi Ramsuratkumar). Such was the extent of devotion towards his guru that he could call upon the Yogi to appear among us. And such was the grace of the Yogi that he chose to appear, sit and sing with us. Although Supramania Swami had five gurus, he chose to invoke the Yogi at prayer. Was it his expressed wish that I should witness this miracle take place and should know the greatness of the Yogi?

Just before I returned to Malaysia, I stepped in finally into Yogi’s Samadhi accompanied by Supramania Swami. As it was a Pradosham day, Swami sat in front of the Nandi and was absorbed in watching the libation or Abhisegam for a long time. His gaze was fixed on the inner sanctum throughout the Puja. What was he watching I wondered?

Returning home to Malaysia, I was eager to know more about the Yogi. I read much about him and shared it on my blog. Read further at https://agathiyarvanam.blogspot.com/2014/04/yogi-ramsuratkumar.html

If Supramania Swami made his guru rise from his Samadhi and join us in the chant, he too materialized himself at my home after his Samadhi, following the "footsteps" of his guru, that I have written about at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BNLP9fdJ2OFQzVgSBsvp0x3RAMYeyDFJ/view

Then the Yogi himself chooses to come to our home. A devotee who was finding it difficult to establish when the divine speaks through her friend and devotee and when her friend was himself, was trying to establish the personality shifts that took place in her friend who often is used by the divine as a medium. So, she thought she could outsmart the divine. Thinking that the deities of the Hindu pantheon would only speak Tamil, while they were both dressing up the statue or Murthy of Agathiyar at AVM, she asked him in English, "Are you okay bro?". Her friend replied, "Okay!" She had verified that it was indeed her friend. She said that she would use this approach henceforth to establish and differentiate the divine and her friend speaking. Some moments later after dressing Agathiyar up, when we all sat for prayers, the Yogi surprised all of us, coming and speaking in English through yet another devotee! She was dumbfounded! The divine saw through her game and played a game on her instead, to our amusement! We all had a good laugh.

Yogi Ramsuratkumar surprised us further coming amidst us during a Sivarathri. As Agathiyar phased out the Abhisegam into three phases beginning at 6pm, 9pm, and 12am, and the finale at 3am I chose to play some of my favorite Bakthi songs beginning with Sadhu Om's song on Bhagawan Ramana "Yeppadiyo Arulvaai" set to music and sang by Sriram Parthasarathy's and uploaded to his YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@SADHUOMCHANNEL. A devotee from whom Agathiyar used to come was seen immersed in the song. Thinking it was Agathiyar who had come, I knelt before him as he sat on a chair. He pulled me towards him and hugged me. Next, he hugged my wife. That is when he told her that the beggar had come. He asked that we play the song "Unadhu Thiruvarule" again. He sat and listened to these songs on Bhagawan Ramana in a state of heightened Bhakti as Bhagawan Ramana was his guru too besides Aurobindo and Swami Ramdas. The Yogi came where the name of his guru Bhagawan Ramana was played. The Yogi then told us that my guru Supramania Swami too was with him which made me truly happy. Recently Agathiyar came to us and told us to listen to another song of Sadhu Om set to music and sung by the same, "Yeppodhu Nee Arivaayo".

SIMPLE STEPS TO BIGGER THINGS

There is so much hype about spiritualism and all other matters related to it. It has been made so profoundly sacred that all other existence including religion has been made to look and sound secondary in nature. A great divide has been created between religion and spiritualism too. It has been made to look apart and difficult to achieve. In essence, it is merely living knowing what the soul wants instead of living for what the ego wants. It is just a shift from the Ego to the True Self or Atma. It is just like entering another room that is lighted by the source, from the present dark room that is lighted by man's findings, knowledge, and creation. Dumping the latter, we come to know the former. We come home.

To learn how something is made we break it down into its components as in manufacturing, and rebuild it in its image or clone it, modify it, or create something entirely different with the knowledge that comes from the learning and discovery. So is it with learning the trade or method of executing something by taking the content as in movie clips analyzing them and adopting the techniques and ways. Similarly, we enter the realm of the spirit, or subtle, comprehending the experiences of the sages and Siddhas and following in their method, way, path, and journey, not as a carbon copy but with many improvements and garnishing. What then would be the best way to emulate something or someone? By living with him. Hence the reason Agathiyar sent me off to live with Tavayogi and learn his ways for a couple of days. Agathiyar in showing us the way, tells us that he was only sharing what they had learned and put into practice. It was authentic, tried and tested means and ways to attain the state that they arrived at. In short, becoming another Siddha. But does that end there? If generally man is born and dies as a man as many do, few attain a state that in others' eyes is regarded as divine. Hence, he is looked upon as a divine man. Moving the yardstick further one can arrive at the states of Munis, Siddhas, and Rishis. All these are merely states, states that can be furthered as Ramalinga Adigal describes them in a detailed listing and charting out of the many levels of the soul's journey and its corresponding spiritual experiences.

Dr.C.Srinivasan in his book "An Introduction to the Philosophy of Ramalinga Swami" mentions that "Ramalinga Adigal has tasted the bliss of all the sixteen stages contemplated by the Vedas by the permutation and combination of the four paths such as Devotion, Action, Meditation, and Wisdom one after another and attained higher and truer perfection with the aid of the Supreme Grace, besides the ultimate goal of all the six heavenly avenues Suddha Siddhanatham, Suddha Vedantham, Suddha Nadantham, Suddha Kalantham and Suddha Bhodantham leading to Divinity."

The four paths drafted out for us to follow here in the physical, gross, and material simultaneously work on the subtle levels too bringing on the heavenly avenues as listed by Ramalinga Adigal. Just as even the dummies are not left out, anything and everything under the sky is made simple these days, as we see in the many publications by "For Dummies", attaining these avenues has been made easy by Agathiyar in present times for one who talks and walks the four paths. But the first step is to pick up the book. Next, we make sure to read it. Comprehension and understanding then come with divine grace.

It is rather a simple means to achieving the state leading to Divinity, traveling the four paths of Sariyai, Kriyai, and Yogam, and arriving at Gnanam. Faith and belief that brings one to acknowledge its presence in Sariyai, moves him to place the necessary efforts in taking charge towards bringing changes in his outlook and understanding, perception and views, adopting the changes and seeing compassion and love arise in multifold as in Kriyai, working on the vehicle that is a God-given gift to truly experience his presence that was once felt outside now seeing it within as in Yogam, he comes face to face with his Atma that brings on the awakening and dawning of the truth in arriving at Gnanam. The grace of the divine that initially took us into its fold and embraced us in its arms now is seen emerging from within breaking through the ground, erupting, and throwing off not volcanic ash but Sat Chit and Anandam.

HEAVEN OR HELL, I AM WITH YOU

Saibaba of Shirdi in Ruzbeh N Bharucha's book, "The Fakir - The Journey Continues" speaks about the immense power of free will. He says "God himself cannot tamper with it as it was an ancient law. The free will of an individual is so strong that even the very heavens have to watch helplessly while the individual goes about allowing his or her soul to plummet down to the very bowels of hell." Agathiyar too would advise but stop short of forcing anyone. I guess he too respects the individual free will to decide the next move or take a pick or choose an option. If it was not favorable, he would simply let fate decide the course and step back and watch. But "when freewill is invoked for the good", Baba says "the very heavens rejoice as they see a soul that has chosen the path that leads to them." I guess this is what Tavayogi mentioned as the Siddhas ushered us by showering flower petals on us as we both made our way into the jungles to the numerous Siddha abodes and caves. Baba says that "the heavens and masters go ecstatic the moment the soul chooses the simple path of walking the path."

If both Agathiyar and Tavayogi had broken me numerous times, Baba's words in "The Fakir - The Journey Continues" that followed, were the straw that broke the camel's back. Although it was given to me by a devotee some time back and though I had initially read several pages and kept it aside for reasons I cannot remember, I guess there is a reason I am reading this book now.

In trying to fulfill Agathiyar's wish that I build a temple for him after reading my Nadi in 2002, and as those I saw did not favor my desire, I dropped it. Nevertheless, when he assigned me to commission his bronze statue and worship him, it all fell into place though we faced some hiccups. Agathiyar later tells me that he had to break through the obstacles and hurdles in place to be with us on his Jayanthi festival of 2010. My desire to see Agathiyar and Ramalinga Adigal at the start of my journey on the path was nipped in the bud by Tavayogi. He replied, "Yes, it's possible but is that what you want?" I had no other desire nor did any desire arise further in me after that. Then the Siddhas made known their intention to shower me with gifts - the Nadi, position, authority and power, the gift of healing others, and now the gift of Siddhis. But I stood my ground just like I stood my ground earlier, I did not want any of these as I knew that I would be caught in the web and net for good. When Lord Muruga brought up the subject of a temple for him in 2018 and had Agathiyar convince me to build it, I was glad that for once I had let them down. Agathiyar then revealed that they had tested me. Then in 2022 when he came around asking what each one of us wanted, he waited on me, long, expecting an answer. I had to cook up something to say to him. I told him that I wanted to be born again and again and serve him as I did now. He too nipped that desire then. He asked me just as Tavayogi did, "Is that what you want?" Later he told me that I wanted Gnanam, eavesdropping on my conversation with Mahindren over the phone. He went on to explain the internal journeying through the chakras that give rise to it and told us that it was not gifted but had to be earned through our effort. Lord Murugan recently came to explain the criteria needed for one to attain the said state. I finally told Agathiyar that I did not want all that he had to offer. I just wanted him. I wanted him to reside within me for the rest of my life. I guess this is the ultimate asking, that he comes within me. I guess this is the ultimate moment of drawing aside the final veil of ignorance that separates us making me believe that we are separate.

Then Baba comes to hit the nail on the head as I read the final few pages of "The Fakir - The Journey Continues". We shall give way to Baba to address our ignorance now. "One has to go beyond even the lure of the spirit world and keep moving towards the light. Yes, whoever one worshipped and was close to would be present to receive you, but eventually, each one of us has to move beyond the brilliance of the surroundings and know that there is only one reality to merge with the creator and to reunite with the source and to become the light. That is what the master wants and expects and demands out of each of us. We have to move beyond the illusion towards what is only real." This was the journey that Ramalinga Adigal depicted in his song "Aani Pon Ambalam" too, though was representative of a similar world we live in, was in fact a journey through the chakras as Tavayogi pointed out later to me. He kept going as some tried to lure him while others looked upon him with astonishment wondering how a mortal made it that far. Finally, Mother who stands at the door to Father's chamber, introduces him to Father, where he witnesses the cosmic dance.

Just like Christ shows Betty J Eadie around heaven as she comes back from a coma to reveal in her book "Embraced by the Light", Baba shows Rudra paradise and then brings him to sit among the filth. He tells him, "So we sat in paradise and now we sit in the bowels of filth. If your focus is your master, then neither will matter." Baba is knocking some sense to me too as I too had chosen only the master - Agathiyar. Baba reminds Rudra in the book and me too, that "If your priority is not your master and your spiritual growth, and you don't use your free will to move towards your master and the light then it will take eternity and beyond for you to ever move beyond the illusion and the weakness and merge with the light. It was all about your priority and using your free will. It was all about whether you loved your master more or yourself." He points out that though we love the master, but we love our weaknesses a little bit more, which is very true. At times we question ourselves if we are truly sincere in saying that we have surrendered and that we only want him in our lives.

Baba asked an earth-shattering question that shamed me too. "All my devotees pray and want to be with me, beta. Do they really want to be with me? All my children want to spend their eternity with me knowing well that being with me means being in the most sublime place in the spirit world or merging with the light. Would my lovers and children and all my devotees and disciples want to spend their eternity with me if I decide to work in a place of foulness?" Baba gave me the shivers as I read these lines. Indeed, as he says, "I am everywhere", he is in paradise and sits in the bowels of filth too. So why do we distinguish between paradise and filth? Baba made Rudra realize that "nothing mattered but being with his master. It did not matter where he was, as long as his master was by his side." Rudra's heaven was Baba and being by his side. He didn't want heaven if that heaven didn't have Baba around.

KNOWING NATURE & KNOWING THE SOUL

Reading the opening page of Ruzbeh N Bharucha's book, "The Fakir - The Journey Continues" we see the immense love of Saibaba of Shirdi towards a couple. Looking into their past, present, and future, Baba prays that at least this time around they make it through what life has in store for them. Baba knew that they had wanted and desired this life at the onset of setting out "once again on the journey of life. They were "Old souls in new bodies". They "Along with their guides and masters had drawn the blueprint of this incarnation and it was decided and agreed by all that they would go through trying experiences."

Neale Donald Walsch in his children's parable titled "The Little Soul and the Sun", adapted from his book 1 in the series, "Conversation with God (CWG)" writes of a young soul who knew he was light but wanted to experience it. So, he is given a choice to pick a desired act that he would like to do, from a list of many, once he is on earth. He chooses the act of forgiving. Another soul immediately steps up to join the soul in fulfilling its wish by being the perpetrator so that the young soul can then forgive him. They both come down to earth to live out their desire.

As Neale wrote, knowing who we are was not enough; we needed to become "it". This desire triggers a chain of events, a learning process takes place, and several experiences are recorded, whereby the soul becomes enriched through these experiences. We, being light in essence, for want of experiencing it, had darkness and all opposites created for us. As all the souls are perfect, many wanted and volunteered to come down to help us gain the experience. Thus, we had all known each other earlier. We had planned to be together here. Those who needed a particular experience chose to come early while others remained behind to join later.

I had read somewhere that the Rishis at times help us decide or rather kick us to earth if we tend to take too much time in deciding the next course in taking a birth. Betty J Eadie in her book "Embraced by the Light" says our guardian angels come along with us creating opportunities for us to learn and progress spiritually. There is a reason why we are here now this instant. We are here now for our individual spiritual development and also collectively contribute to the well-being and awakening of others. God will shape our purpose says Betty. We don't need to know our purpose in its entirety. Just working on the task given to us from moment to moment is sufficient in justifying and fulfilling God's wishes. Even the best-laid plan of ours is considered meager with God's plan. Mother Goddess coming to us said that the path of the Siddhas was all about learning from experiences. Agathiyar in revealing certain horrific doings of mine told me that he had initiated them wanting to give me those experiences too.

If Agathiyar had told us that karma is not attached to the soul or rather the soul does not carry karma Lord Murugan says that it only carries the experiences. Ruzbeh surprises us in his book mentioning the couple, "They were old souls but the one lesson that they needed to learn, experience and overcome was to face financial strife with the composure of a sage. If they succeeded, then they could move on to a higher level of spiritual growth and would have no need to come back to planet Earth to work out their remaining karmas. They could work those out in the spirit world itself." This was news to us who never knew that karma continued even in the realm of the spirit. I guess this is what Bhagawan Nithyananda and Yogi Ramsuratkumar meant when they told their followers that they could do more work in the subtle realm. Tavayogi was an old soul that lived in the times of Agathiyar, but he came to us with a mission to bring us back on the path of the Siddhas. Even after his Samadhi he is still working on us according to Dhanvantri.

Betty who came back from a near-death experience reveals the secrets of heaven in her book "The Awakening Heart - My Continuing Journey to Love", a Pocket Star Book, 1996. She says while some souls respond to God's call, volunteering and choosing to listen and accept his will before coming to earth, others receive a calling after they arrive, when their hearts open to God, through intense sufferings or through miracles, and eventually they become vessels of God themselves. She adds that whatever we become of here is meaningless unless it has brought benefit to others. In serving others we grow spiritually. Anita Moorjani too was given an option either to stay or return to her physical body that was ridden with cancer. When she understood the magnificence of her true self, and that her body would heal rapidly if she opted to come back, she survived to tell the tale as did Betty. http://anitamoorjani.com/about-anita/near-death-experience-description/

TD Jakes in his book "Destiny" asks us to find out our purpose in life and step into it. He says of himself, "... I have lived a life that I was drawn to. I have been pulled to a call that has drawn me from the mundane acquisition of life mementos to the far more rewarding task of doing something with my life that only I could uniquely accomplish." How wonderful.

Betty in revealing the secrets and mysteries of life in her book "Embraced by the Light", understood the earth to be a place where we schooled. If Betty says that we are here to school, Neale Donald Walsch in his "Conversation with God" to "Awaken the Species" says that we are already well equipped with sufficient knowledge and have only to apply it here, giving life a purpose and making it holy.

Betty has several pieces of advice for us too. She reminds us that in praying for someone on his deathbed one should ask for God's will to be done, rather than insist on our desire, otherwise we could end up frustrating and or delaying the transition that the person was undertaking. Avoid a conflict from arising at these times. It would help to just let the soul go. She adds that God who is fully able to see the past and future knows best. The outcome is always perfect although we see it otherwise. When my eldest brother was dragging his leg deciding whether we should bring our mother home from the hospital due to her ripe old age of 96, all they would do was keep her under surveillance and even after my other brother who was a medical assistant saw her vital signs going down suggested that we bring her back home, Agathiyar came and asked that he delay no further or hinder our mother's next birth that was awaiting her. Agathiyar told my wife that no one stop her mother's journey to the next world when the time comes.

Just as my late father who used to ask something over and over again was once told by Lord Murugan that once was enough, Betty says that there was no need to repeat a prayer or request. With a single prayer said, then comes faith and lots of patience. Pray for whatever you desire and let go. Let God do his will. If and when his will becomes ours too, we see the prayer answered. Rather than have everyone stand by the bedside of a loving one awaiting some news or development, would not it be better to let the medical professionals do their work, while we return home and start a homam or prayer seeking God's grace as Betty says asking for God's will to be done, rather than insist on our desire, and end up frustrating and or delaying the transition that the person was undertaking.

When news of Supramania Swami's demise in 2007 in Tiruvannamalai reached our ears, I called up Tavayogi and asked him as the sole disciple of his what I was to do? Tavayogi replied "Do nothing. Just pray that his soul is placed in a high place." When news of Tavayogi's demise reached our ears later in 2018, I could take it calmly just as the cook in the movie "Pearl Harbor" tells the captain that he had trained them well. Later Agathiyar tells me that Supramania Swami had attained Samadhi and was laid to rest in the ideal place on the path of Girivalam. Dhanvantri coming to us told us that Tavayogi was in the form of light guiding us further.

When a famed Nadi reader of Chennai passed away many years ago, Agathiyar gave explicit orders to the family not to mourn his death for the soul was meditating in the Pothigai hills. This was news to us who never knew that tavam or austerities continued even in the realm of the soul.

If some souls need to leave the body to enter the next phase of their journey or continue their next journey in another birth, some others request that God take them away. When a man fell ill and was bedridden for five years, a relative couple never gave up on him and his family. They would refer to the Nadi on their behalf and go do the remedies too. But sadly, the relative passed away. All the other relatives came down hard on this couple venting their anger and frustration on them and Agathiyar for not saving the man. They saw all the efforts of this couple as a waste of time, money, and energy. There is never a Nadi reading for a dead man. But Agathiyar made an exception in this case. He called the couple in for a reading after the man died. Agathiyar asked the couple, "What am I supposed to do? I had repeatedly told you to remind him (the man) to lift his spirits up and to fight and never give up. You too did as told and carried out all the remedies I gave. But that soul asked me to take him back as he could not bring himself to see his family continue to suffer further in taking care of him. You are asking me to keep him alive while he has given up on life and decided that he wants to leave. Tell me now to whom I shall listen to?" The couple understood the deep message that Agathiyar put forth for their understanding, bringing clarity to the whole episode. The relatives though only saw the gross and physical, Agathiyar listened to the crying soul and relieved him.

Ram Dass in "Paths to God", Harmony Books, 2004, tells us another similar story. A woman whose son was bitten by a cobra begged Shirdi Sai Baba to give some sacred ash to save him. Baba did not. When a devotee begged him on her behalf, Sai replied "Don't get involved in this. Her son's soul has already entered another body in which he can do especially good work, work that he could not do in this one. If I draw him back into this body the new one, he has entered will have to die for this one to live. I might do it for your sake, but have you considered the consequences. Have you any idea of the responsibility and are you prepared to assume it?" The devotee was only seeing the mother's grief. Baba saw the bigger picture.

When a devotee stood before Bhogar enquiring about her sibling, Bhogar came on sternly telling her that he shall not lift even a finger in bringing him out of his sufferings. He has to go through it, although Bhogar assured her that he shall be safe. On the other hand, Agathiyar manipulated the fate of a newborn, fated to take another birth elsewhere just for the sake of his devotee, even as Goddess Ma came to remind Agathiyar of the consequences of his action and asked that he think twice and reconfirm his instruction to her asking that the child live. Agathiyar held to his asking and told her to go ahead. The child was saved.

Neale says "As we are one with God we do have the ability to create alternate endings to any story", mankind working in unison with the divine forces can bring forth a favorable outcome. Ruzbeh in his blog and writings at https://www.speakingtree.in/blog/the-master-s-grace reveals, "Yes, the laws of karma are rigid and the cards are dealt without emotion. What one has sowed, one shall reap. The experience shall be gone through. There is no escaping this fact. And yet throughout the ages, through time, Sages, mystics, Sufis, and the Holy Scriptures, all proclaim that The Master is Merciful. On one hand, we have the unyielding laws of cause and effect. On the other hand, we have the mercy and tenderness of The Master."

If we understand that our past karma determines the next birth, desires and wants to experience lead the soul to take birth too. I guess this answers my previous question as to what was the very first karma I did, that necessitated a birth and subsequently many more births until the present. It all began with a desire just as desire took hold of Adam and Eve in the story of humanity. I was told in the Nadi readings of mine, my wife's, and my children that we had lived together in the past and desired to come back again in the present. At times it could be the desire of another soul to have us around when it comes back again. The souls comply with its wishes and are reborn though there was no necessity to do so. Our elders always believed that a deceased family member would be reborn within the family circle.

Going for our morning walk in the park this morning with my wife, I saw three adults hug a tree and remain in this position for some time. I had seen many following Energy Bagua hugging trees on my previous walks in the park. I knew that they were connecting with the tree and nature. What I did not expect was at that very instance I got connected with the tree and nature too without holding on to the gross. I could feel the energy that was prevalent around us enter my body and bring on momentary bliss. I guess I could connect with the Prapanjam now. A toddler needs to get used to their body, exploring himself, and the senses. Similarly, he explores the world around him. I am like a child exploring its senses now.

Watching the documentaries that bring the wonders of the world is a much-needed tonic and relief from the many disheartening news we see aired in the news, that of war, politics, pandemics, tragedy, etc. Watching the documentary series, "Secrets of the Enchanted Forest" aired on the channel, "Love Nature", we see the intelligence in nature that is veiled from us by layer and layer of pretention. Children do not exhibit pretention as they are pure to the core and speak their minds. We are told that "All life is connected to the forests on this planet. Right now, they need all the help they can get to keep thriving under immense pressure."

"Trees are primates' grocery store." Not only does the forest provide food but also medicinal herbs. "As much as a quarter of all western medicines are derived from rainforest plants."

"The Asian elephants have spent their entire life mapping and memorizing the forest. They are the unofficial custodians of these forests. No one knows more about how the forest works. They shape the entire forest. These forest gardeners of nature's gardens create the forest landscape. They help spread the seeds through their dung."

No wonder Bagheera the panther tells Mowgli to bow to the passing herd of elephants in the movie "Jungle Book".

The narrator goes on to say how all the animals that reside in the forest are partners in crime in assisting a fig tree to gain the throne and reign way up in the skies. She describes the crime scene beautifully. A species of monkey that eats a fig climbs way up a majestic tree and lays its poo in the cracks of its branches. The fig tree takes a firm grip and hold and soon brings the host tree to its knees and reigns king. All the animals remain silent as they too have a piece of the cake, the tasty fig.

Just like elephants, we are told that it has come to the knowledge of scientists now that trees too do have memories. For instance, they know when to shed their leaves and sink into a silent slumber before the cold sets in. To know and understand our world we need to see nature, the trees, animals, reptiles, and insects.

In "Planet Earth III - Humans" rather than point fingers and complain, a farm in a warehouse in Los Angeles has created a food revolution. They are growing vegetables vertically in a controlled environment, hence shedding the need to clear forests and fell trees to create more land for farming and agriculture. They are "giving back the land to nature, giving the natural world a chance to bounce back."

Moving to the other end of the globe, in another documentary, as they are left with only 34 hours and 18 minutes of daylight on the last day before darkness envelops the town for the next 65 days, the locals in a tiny town in Alaska flee for the south by flight before the final sunset, escaping the 65 days of darkness. The long, bitter, and dark winter is said to contribute to depression and many suicide attempts. It is time we appreciate sunlight. It is time we appreciate nature. It is time we appreciated the breath. All these constitute worship too.

Betty who came back to reveal much wrote that "when the heavens scrolled back", she "saw the earth and its billions of people on it." She saw how the angels stood by to assist each and every individual irrespective of their status. The only ingredient needed was "faith." Betty reminds us not to forget to thank them when they have granted our wishes. She says it beautifully, "In humility, we must ask and in gratitude, we must receive." Prayers bring God to us. With constant prayers, we will come to know that he lives among us. Baba was concerned whether the couple would "go through the experience calmly and united or would the hard times once again manage to destroy their love and togetherness and make them live the rest of their lives like strangers." Such is the love and concern of gurus towards us. I too have seen Agathiyar's love and concern for us often reprimanding us only to save us from falling into deeper pits. It is out of care that at times they seem and sound stern. But deep within it is pure unadulterated love towards all souls.

After 10 years since his last conversation and book, Neale sat down to bring the train of dialogue he had with God in CWG Book 4. As Neale shares his sadness as to what was going around, telling God that "it feels like we're becoming less civil, less tolerant, less capable of controlling our indulgences, ..." rolling out the current state of affairs, God asked him to pass on His third and final invitation, assuring him that there is nothing to worry about if he does what he was inwardly called to do. God gives him hope that we can actually "change things rather dramatically and tells him and reminds us too that this is both the perfect time to begin making these alterations and the perfect time for advancement. Our mission now is to awaken the species." But before that, we need to be awakened first.

We understood from Agathiyar that each of us was brought together again for a purpose. We have been told that we are here for an experience, gaining which we return to God's kingdom. Just as Neale says life needs to have a purpose, Agathiyar has slowly revealed the reasons for taking birth, giving it a purpose too. As God told Neale that "the fastest way to awaken more quickly was to be the cause of someone else's awakening", Agathiyar told us among the merits gained from our actions as the worship of God, serving the guru; performing charity and feeding the hungry, the most appreciated of the deeds was to spread the words and messages of the masters. We can revel in joy at having performed rituals to the command of our gurus; at having performed charity to the needy, feeding them and appeasing their hunger, and in finally bringing together devotees and those seeking to come to the fold of the Siddhas through these events. We are glad and proud that we have done our share, a small part towards the upliftment of humanity and all of God's creation. Everything is done for the growth of the spirit and soul. Even the beggars are placed there for our benefit said Yogi Ramsuratkumar when he was asked why India had so many beggars. The Yogi simply answered that India needed beggars. Do not despise them. They provide us an avenue, allowing us opportunities to serve them. We gain these much-needed experiences that build on our compassion. If only we could add love as an ingredient in all our dealings we have served and lived well, completing our purpose for taking birth.

THE YEARS OF PREPARATION

Agathiyar. What can I say about the man who turned my life around. I see his hand in every moment of my life. Seeing my intense hunger for knowledge on religious practices, customs and traditions from reading and putting into practice the home rituals and Yoga exercises learned from books, he had me drop them. After 14 years in which time, I got married and started a family of my own, all the doubts and questions regarding his lack of assistance in times of need in his devotees lives came to be cleared, as I came to know about Karma that Agathiyar spoke about in my very first Nadi reading.

He had Dr.Krishnan tell me that if one was cursed the predictions as foretold in his astrological chart would not come true. The Dr. opened up the subject of the existence of the Nadi that could reveal these matters. Agathiyar had me sought his Nadi after some 6 years when a colleague spoke about his experience in reading it. He had me worship the Siddhas besides the other deities whom we had worshipped since young following in the path of Bhakti and temple worship that came with tradition. He introduced me to my first guru Supramania Swami of Tiruvannamalai who showed me by example Guru Bakthi that I read about in Yogananda Paramahamsa's "Autobiography of a Yogi" some 9 years back.

He introduced me to Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal of Kallar Ashram too. Both he and Agathiyar had me include rituals in our home puja, the former lighting the Homam and the latter coming as a bronze statue. He officially taught me Yoga through Tavayogi, polishing that which I had picked up from books earlier. He had us bring our home puja into the temples. If he had me compile the numerous songs of praise to Siddhas that were spread across numerous books, Agathiyar had us write, sing and produce an audio album "Agathiyar Geetham" too. Then the D-day came just two months before the coming of the pandemic. He had us bring the shutters down on Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM) that germinated with the coming of many souls brought to our home by Agathiyar after their Nadi readings. He brought a halt to puja and charity and had us go within. In the 2 1/2 years that followed he had us let go. I realized that he had walked us through Patanjali's Yoga Sutra over the years. Today he is rewarding us for all our effort and work. It is the Award Night.

Learning how to use the computer and Windows 2.1 in 1988, lead to blogging and video editing many years on. The parting words of a colleague and the prized book "Autobiography of a Yogi" and a rare painting of Lord Shiva in 1994 changed me making me accept unrelated tasks just as a book I read in my college library  in 1977 made me learn to say No. While at work I ventured into making presentations for my department, moving away from my core business in engineering. I learned creating presentations besides learning to create websites as the Ministry had a very well-equipped library. It very much came in handy in my later years as I embarked on sharing my maiden pilgrimage to India and the subsequent meetings with my gurus' in online websites and blog. The knowledge, practices and work ethics that I picked up during the course of my career like 5S, the Japanese workplace organization methodology and learning to think out of the box as taught in NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming, was continued as I began to entertain the devotees whom Agathiyar brought over to my home in later years. It opened me up to new ways of thinking and doing things, often radical and moving away from the orthodox. Being a part of the many secretariats at the office would one day lead to managing events at AVM. Just as the cook tells his Captain in the movie "Pearl Harbor", Agathiyar had prepared me well.

THE VERY MUCH PRACTICAL GURUS

As I and my wife met up with Nadi reader T.Ramesh on Wednesday, my memories went back to the days of reading the Nadi. I have had some 56 Nadi readings read out to me by the 41-year-old. It was a curtesy call as we had not met after the last reading in September of 2019. The pandemic set in, and the Nadi readers went back to India. It was the second time I saw the Nadi in 2005 after a lapse of three years. The first Nadi reading was done by Senthilkumar of Avinashi. Agathiyar in reading my Nadi for the very first time in 2002 told me to come back when I was 45. Mentioning this to Tavayogi whom I had only met then on our shores, he pointed me to T.Ramesh and passed me his local number. Reading my Nadi Ramesh rushed me to go over to see Tavayogi immediately bringing the gifts that Agathiyar listed that I bring along to get initiated - again! It was as if there was an urgency to get initiated again that same night. Though Tavayogi too was equally puzzled when I mentioned this to him, he went ahead and initiated me again as instructed this time by his touch. I understood that initiation should be held one to one and not given in mass gatherings as earlier. Previously I and my wife had joined another six and were initiated by reciting Agathiyar mantra. After I returned home from the late-night initiation to my surprise, when I played the cassette, its contents were erased. Going back for a re reading, Agathiyar charted a new chapter and a new beginning in my life. If Tavayogi had asked that I frequent the local Peedham that he had come to officiate, Agathiyar struck off that proposal and had had me get initiated and come directly under his wings. He asked that I visit Tavayogi's Kallar ashram spending a couple of days with him which I understood that henceforth I came under the direct supervision of Tavayogi. I packed my bags and left after him arriving at his ashram a month later. He volunteered to take me to the places Agathiyar had named in the Nadi.

Before going over to Kallar I had an obligation to see my first guru Supramania Swami in Tiruvannamalai first. This was the first time I could speak to him about Agathiyar, the Nadi readings and his directives. In my previous and very first meeting with him in 2003, I was blessed to spend some 5 hours in his presence where he spoke about his Gurus and me. I told him that Agathiyar had mentioned Tavayogi as my guru too. I invited him to come along to the temples and places I was about to visit with Tavayogi. He was delighted and agreed to come along. But as we made our way to a local Vishnu temple and back, I saw that Swami could not bear the strain of the road trip. His son too told me that the last time his father went to Palani and returned he was drained of his energy. I reconsidered my invitation bearing in mind his age and state of health. Supramania Swami was not offended when I reversed on my invitation to have him tag along me and Tavayogi on the pilgrimage to Palani. He added that it was true that he did not want to sabotage our trip. He was thinking pretty much practically. When he packed some tight blankets and placed them in the car bonnet telling me that the Nilgiris would be cold, I saw the amount of compassion and love in him that moment. He asked me to convey his best wishes to "my guru". I saw his humbleness that day. When I returned from Kallar to share the temple trips with him, Supramania Swami walked out of his kudil to usher me and immediate asked "How is your guru?" referring to how Tavayogi was doing. My eyes welled up in tears. Rarely do we come by a guru who would accept a "competition" and enquire about the other. When I was with him a lady walked into his kudil or hermitage with her uncle. She sobbed to him how difficult it was to live with her husband. Generally, our elders would always advise the womenfolk to bear the pain and agony and pray that their husbands turn over a new leaf. It was not the case with Swami. He told her outrightly to leave her husband and find peace. I saw peace set in immediately in her as she burst into an outcry of joy and happiness and walked away. He released her of the pent-up agony. He was indeed a very practical man. Rarely do we come by a guru who is pretty much practical and humble to the core.

Tavayogi too was pretty much a practical person in many other ways. He did not give me classroom lessons but instead took me on a field trip immediately after I arrived at his ashram taking up his invitation and Agathiyar's directive. He knew that I had to experience God and not listen to stories and his experiences and take notes about God and him. I needed to see the miracles he was to perform and see these miracles in the very nature, around me and in me. If only we could spare a moment to just see these miracles happening moment to moment right before our eyes. For that to take place, initially we have to be snatched and pulled away from the routines of our daily lives and venture into the unknown. I went blank following him trying to keep up with his pace. He stopped at times to point out a thing or two. He let me be with the nature and Agathiyar. He gave me my first practical lesson in walking into the open and inviting arms of Mother Prapanjam. He told me the Siddhas were ushering us with flower petals. He pointed out the wonderful aroma and scent in the air as we made our way into the jungles and hills. He gave me an experience that I never dreamt off, sleeping in pitch dark caves. I never had fear, doubt, questions, and the notion of time passing. As I said I was blank just absorbing nature. Only when the thought comes to capture the moment would I reach for my camera.

After I returned to Malaysia, he had me start the fire ritual in my home. During his subsequent visit to Malaysia in 2007 Tavayogi taught me and several others several Yoga asanas and Pranayama that worked very subtlety, and unknowing to me released its energies in me. Since he had introduced the notion of giving in the form of charity and feeding that began at his ashram, it came easily to me when Agathiyar gathered new seekers around and had us take up charity on our home ground in 2013. Again, here we see a guru who was practical in all ways. He had us gain the experiences that was much needed later on this journey to arrive at the state of Gnanam as explained to us by Agathiyar and Lord Murugan recently.

Blessed am I to have come to know Supramnaia Swami and Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal.

SILENCE & INNER STILLNESS

The breath is felt wide and large at the nostrils. Everything sounds loud. Everything is extremely colorful. I can sniff everything out. I can distinguish flavors. Even the hairs on the skin tickle having me brush my skin thinking it's a mosquito sitting on me. The sense of taste, sight, hearing, smell and feeling on the skin is enhanced these days. Having cleansed the internals, the senses are heightened. The body aches that were a result of internal purification have subsided too at least for now. The throb in the crown continues even as I pen these words. The breath comes to be still on its own at times.

Swami Muktananda sheds some light in his book "Kundalini - The Secret of Life" published by Siddha Yoga Publication, 1994. He writes that when the chakras of the sense organs are purified the physical senses become sharpened and refined. "On her journey to the Sahasrara, Kundalini passes through all the sense organs, purifying them and investing them with new powers. As Kundalini rises to the ocular center, she purifies the eyes. As the Kundalini purifies the sense of touch, one begins to feel thrilled of love through every pore and hair of the body. One becomes immersed in the joy of touch. When kundalini reaches the center of smell it purifies that, and one comes into direct contact with the essence of smell. When the Shakti moves to the auditory center, she purifies this too. When a shower of nectar is released and begins to fall dropping onto the root of the tongue, the taste buds become extremely refined. Even the simplest food is relished."

Swami Muktananda writes further "The basis of all disease and pain is the impurities that block the flow of Prana in the Nadis. These blockages are caused by imbalances and disorders in the three bodily humors - wind, bile, and phlegm. She (Kundalini) penetrates all 720 million Nadis, consumes all the old decaying fluids, then releases vital energy into them all. The Nadis become filled with Prana. It is only after the body has been purified that the Shakti can work with full force."

After the Monday, the 22nd and Tuesday, the 23rd (August 2022) episodes, Agathiyar told me that the energies that were released, having stagnated for a while at Manipuraka, will do their work and that there was nothing that I needed to do further. Just as Tavayogi told me our efforts are only until we reach Svadhistana and that the guru shall lead us on from there, all efforts ended that day.

Swami Kripananda, author of the "Sacred Power (Kundalini)", and "The Guru's Sandals" in writing the introduction for Swami Muktananda's "Kundalini - The Secret of Life", says that "Because he has merged his individual awareness into the divine, the guru can serve as a pure vessel through which its pure energy flows. It is this transmission of divine energy which awakens and guides the Kundalini. This knowledge (of the Kundalini) was so well hidden, in fact, that when Swami Muktananda received Kundalini awakening from his own master Bhagawan Nityananda and began experiencing its effects, he had no idea what was happening to him. He wrote his first great work the spiritual autobiography "Play of Consciousness" to prevent his own students from running into the same confusion and to help them understand the process unfolding within them."

Swami Muktananda in his "Kundalini - The Secret of Life", describes Shaktipat from the guru, as "when the guru directly transmits his own divine Shakti to the disciple. The easiest and best method (of awakening, activating, and setting into operation the Kundalini) is through Shaktipat from the guru, when the guru directly transmits his own divine Shakti to the disciple. It is the secret initiation of the greatest sages and has been passed on from guru to disciple from the beginning of time."

After the Monday, the 22nd and Tuesday, the 23rd episodes, Agathiyar asked that I write about these experiences so that readers would know what to expect walking the path of internal transformation towards the goal of attaining Jothi. As both my gurus Supramania Swami and Tavayogi say whether we attain the state is immaterial for now. At least we are working towards it. We shall come back again if we fail in this life. John White says that "Desiring something, even such a noble goal as the awakening of Kundalini, is misguided." Sri Chinmoy echoes this statement too. "A genuine seeker never considers the hidden powers or occult powers as his goal. He cares only for God. He longs only for God's loving presence in his life."

Swami Kripananda writes, "It is not enough for the guru to awaken Kundalini. The guru also controls and regulates the process helping to remove all the blocks and obstacles in the disciple's path until the disciple attains the ultimate realization of the self. Being one with the inner energy the guru can accomplish this on a subtle level from within." He says bit by bit as it moves through the subtle system, blocks are removed, addictions fall away, and one's life is set in order. Ultimately the experience of the self becomes constant. Hence nothing happens overnight. It is bit by bit that the Kundalini unfolds and travels within.

M. P. Pandit writes "What is being laboriously attempted, dangerously pursued, and problematically achieved in Kundalini yoga can be assured in a yoga like Sri Aurobindo's in a very natural way by throwing oneself open to divine consciousness and grace, letting it descend into oneself, and letting it decide which centers of consciousness are going to be operated upon, which one is most open and ready. It is more in the natural way of evolution to let things develop in this manner rather than having a systematized procedure."

Alice A. Bailey writes that "When this process is carried forward with care and due safeguards, and under direction, and when the process is spread over a long period of time there is little risk of danger, and the awakening will take place normally and under the law of being itself."

We learn from the documentary "Inner Worlds Outer Worlds" that "Kundalini is a bridge from gross matter to the most subtle energies." We are told that we are that bridge. "Kundalini is not energy that can be forced by will, effort, and friction." " Hence the reason we are cautioned not to mess with it. "It is analogous to growing a flower. All we can do as good gardeners is prepare the soil and proper conditions and let nature takes its course." Tavayogi often gives this same analogy of preparing the field for the Siddhas to plant the seed in us. "If we force a flower to open prematurely, you'll destroy it. It grows with its own intelligence with its own self-organizing direction."

Swami Tadatmananda says that he is completely turned off by the way Kundalini has been distorted and misrepresented. He reminds us not to chase the "experience seeking" that Swami Dayananda Saraswati spoke about to him. His guru had warned him about the danger of "experience seeking" that promises bliss and ecstasy. Swami Tadatmananda speaking about his guru's negative comments on Kundalini Yoga, says of his experiment with Kundalini that "If he were still alive, I might not have undertaken this project".

Swami Muktananda writes that, "After you receive Shaktipat meditation starts spontaneously and at that time Prana and Apana, the ongoing and outgoing breath, become balanced and long Kumbhaka retention of breath begins to take place effortlessly. The Prana and Apana become even and eventually, the breath begin to be retained within. This is called Kumbhaka. In true Kumbhaka, the Prana and Apana become one at that point. Prana does not go out nor does Apana come in. The Prana becomes extremely subtle and moves into the Sushumna and then the Sushumna opens up and begins to unfold. When Kundalini awakening takes place through grace it will rise of its own accord and become established where it should be established. Kundalini will take care of herself... when the Kundalini is awakened by the grace of the guru the grace itself will guide it in the correct manner. There is absolutely no danger in such a case. After the awakening of Kundalini, meditation comes spontaneously. There is no need to center the mind because the Kundalini herself grabs hold of the mind and centers it in whatever place she considers suitable. If one has awakened the Kundalini through self-effort, it is very difficult to lead it upward because right from the moment the Kundalini is awakened until the moment it finally merges in the Sahasrara the seeker has to depend on yogic practices."

"When the Nadis are cleansed, the mind is purified. The mind is intimately connected to the Prana. To control the mind yogis, try to control their breath. The Prana and Apana become even and eventually, the breath begins to be retained within. This is called Kumbhaka. In true Kumbhaka, the Prana and Apana become one at that point. Prana does not go out nor does Apana come in. When the Prana stops the mind becomes still and you experience supreme tranquility. Great beings are in this state of inner stillness."

As their grace deepens, a slight throb is felt at this spot on the head at exactly the anterior fontanel or the soft spot located in newborns. This throb nudges us to take notice of it and become aware. Agathiyar told us each shall realize his center சுழிமுனை (Suzhimunai), the place where arises energy and vibration or உணர்வு that comes with it. "Know it to be your Suzhimunai," he says. One who arrives at his center becomes total says Agathiyar. He calls this the state of பரிபூரணம் (Paripuranam).

Tavayogi explains that the breath that flows through the left nostril (Akaaram) and that running through the right nostril (Ukaaram) creates vibrations in Edakalai and Pingalai respectively. This vibration creates ripples in the midst of the head (Maakaaram). The spot where these vibrations congregate is known as Suzhumunai.

In "God Talks With Arjuna: The Bhagavad Gita", published byYogoda Satsanga Society of India", 1999, Sri Paramahansa Yogananda writes,

"One's body is produced by an earth current in the coccyx, a water vibration in the sacral, a fire vibration in the lumbar, an air vibration in the dorsal, an ether vibration in the cervical, and a consciousness and life force vibration in the medulla and Christ centers. These are the vibrations of the 5 elements or Tattvas in nature, macro cosmically present in the universe, and micro cosmically operative in the body of man."

Dr. C Srinivasan writes in his "An Introduction to the Philosophy of Saint Ramalingam", that "The brain and all its parts the cerebrum, the cerebellum, and the medulla oblongata have loosened as an opening blossom."

"Thousands of years ago, ancient texts in India found that the body has its own vibrations. These vibrations found within the body are called chakras, Sanskrit for wheel. They found that the body has roughly 114 chakras within it. These chakras are wheels of energy. When the energy is producing positive vibrations, the wheel will turn in a clockwise position, meaning that the chakra is open and flowing without disruption. When the chakra is imbalanced, the wheel can turn in a counterclockwise position, closing that vibration of energy and bringing negativity into that space. Chakras can also be blocked, where the wheel is not turning at all and the vibration is stagnant, no energy coming in or out of its chakra." (Source: https://www.dermascope.com/)

Generally, in man, the Idai and Pingalai work in tandem. Shushumna is dormant. Through the advanced stages of Pranayama the Shushumna gives way and opens. Kundalini arises from the Muladhara and makes its way to Sahasrara. He then transcends the Physical, Subtle, and Causal bodies and comes to know his Atma.

Swami Kripananda writes that "Whether Shaktipat (a process by which the guru awakens Kundalini) comes to us dramatically like a sonic boom or very quietly and subtly as it does to many people the awakened Kundalini totally transforms our outlook and our experience of ourselves."

SETTLING DOWN

In the last post I wrote "Today I just want him. I want him to reside within me for the rest of my life. I do not need anything else that he has to offer." I guess this is the ultimate asking that he comes within us or arriving at the moment where we shed the veil of ignorance that covers the truth that we are one. I dropped the search the moment I came to both my gurus. As I traveled the path, seeing many get caught, stuck and stagnate and bring onto themselves problems and troubles that came along with these wants, I dropped all desires and wants. But the Siddhas never stopped offering gifts. But I stood firm refusing to accept them as I knew that I too shall get caught in the web of addiction to power, authority, and respect. I reflected on Tavayogi and how he stood as Agathiyar in my eyes. I reflected on all the words of his and Agathiyar that molded me along the way.

In wanting just him, I have come to put an end to these garlands of offering of boons by the Siddhas and the deities. In wanting him to reside within me for the rest of my life what harm or danger can come to me? In wanting him to reside within me for the rest of my life what harm can I do to others? In wanting him to reside within me for the rest of my life what illness or disease shall come to me? He shall decide what goes in henceforth be it food and drinks or thoughts. He shall take care of me. He shall make sure that my body that is his abode now shall never fall as long as he desires to stay. In wanting him to reside within me for the rest of my life what further desires or wants is there for me? His will shall be my will too. He decides the action if there is a need to act. In settling in Agathiyar everything else settles in him. If Agathiyar comes to settle within than worship turns within too. All Kriyai and rituals are done within in silence. Mantras are chanted in silence. The gaze now turns inwards. The senses turn inwards. The journey turns inwards. The experience is now from within. The conversation happens within. He speaks through us. He sees through us. He moves in us. We become one.

SPEAK TO GOD

Tavayogi told me that a guru shall observe and test his student for some 12 years before he passes him the divine knowledge. I have passed the several tests that Agathiyar had given me I believe in these 21 years of staying on the path. Agathiyar in my very first Nadi reading in 2002 asks that I build him a temple. Excited and elated I later found that he had told some 50 others before me the same too in their Nadi readings. I did try though but was not successful in this venture as the temple committees I sought out to install Agathiyar's shrine in their temple grounds were not willing to provide the space. In 2004, my first guru Supramania Swami initiated building a temple for Lord Murugan in Tiruvannamalai and asks us to support his lifelong dream. Then a mysterious stranger comes by his abode and asks him why he was stepping back from Gnanam to Bakthi. He dropped the mission that instant. Meanwhile since I had ventured to build one after the Nadi reading but failed, Agathiyar made all the arrangements seeking the approval of the patron founder of the Jegathguru Sri Raghavendra Swamigal Miruthiga Brindavanam Kinta, Perak, through his Nadi reading. Simultaneously in a Nadi reading for me he had me commission his idol to be made in Swamimalai and place there. He had me receive and care for his statue till the Brindavanam was complete. Upon nearing completion in 2012, Agathiyar switches his plan and decides to stay put in my home instead. I thought the subject of building a temple was put to rests when in 2016 Tavayogi completed his new ashram cum temple some 2 kilometers away from his earlier ashram where our journey started. It was not to be so, as Lord Murugan jumped onto the bandwagon and wanted a temple for himself. He told me in the Nadi reading in 2018 that he would provide the land, money and people too. But I was not keen. As I did not move, he sends Agathiyar coming through a devotee to convince me into building one. As I chose to remain silent, he replied that he shall do in in 18 months' time. As the deadline approached Agathiyar in a Nadi reading told me that he had tested me.

Agathiyar had wanted to gift me a Nadi too to use for myself and others. I did not want it. He started healing those whom he brought to AVM. As I and my wife wanted it to stop, he listened. Later he made us realize that these were in no way harming us. He was only using us and the venue for his purpose. Lord Murugan too came and asked us to step aside and watch him play his lila. AVM was a hype of an activity in those days with many visitations from the deities and Siddhas. Finally, they brought all the group puja and charity to a stop just in time for the pandemic to set in. The next 2 1/2 years were spent in individual puja and contemplation, asking us to observe the breath and go within. When the coast was clear, Agathiyar ventured into the homes of a couple of devotees before commanding us not to bring his statue out. The visitations began post pandemic as AVM started to receive devotees. The devotees were told to sit in meditation now. Agathiyar had me teach Yoga to a disciple who was asked to teach the rest. He brought a couple of devotees over and had me take up the role of guru to them which I turned down. Again, considering my wish, those who came left and mysteriously remained silent. Now in asking me to worship Vaalai he tells me that Siddhis shall come by. Again, I asked myself do I really need these Siddhis?

If those were his wishes, I too had some wishes. I told Tavayogi that I wanted to see Agathiyar and Ramalinga Adigal. He told me that that was possible and in the same breath asked me if that was what I wanted. I remained silent sensing that I had erred. I told Tavayogi that I wanted to see him become Light as did Ramalinga Adigal and Jegantha Swamigal before our eyes. He told me that he had missed the boat and has to come back again. When Agathiyar came around asking what each of us gathered before him wanted, though I had no asking and since he waited on me expecting an answer, I told him that I desired to take many births and come back to serve him as I did now. He too like Tavayogi asks me if that is what I wanted? I remained silent sensing that I had erred again. Thinking that asking for Gnanam would be the right thing to do, since Tavayogi always spoke about the need for us to move from Bakthi to Gnanam, he comes again later telling me that I had asked for Gnanam. He tells me that it was not gifted but I had to earn it through my efforts. Just as we have read and heard about Lord Shiva giving boons, they Siddhas are waiting to give as Ramalinga Adigal told me the more I distance myself from these wants the more that they shall shower. So what do you asks of them? Today I just want him. I want him to reside within me for the rest of my life. I do not need anything else that he has to offer. I believe he is listening as he has always been. I believe he shall grant this too has he had always done.

TALK TO GOD

We are indeed connected in a network with all beings, animals and plants and the universe and its planets. In BBC Earth "Planet Earth lll - Forests", we watch a bear catch a salmon in a river in Canada. Sir David Attenborough narrates the story, "This annual feast helps her to fatten ready for the winter ahead. But it also helps the patch of forest where she lives. This female has an unusual relationship with the forest. Every fish carcass she leaves behind decays releasing nutrients that soak into the soil. And there they are collected by a network of fungi. The treads attach themselves to the tree's roots. And nutrients from the fish collected by the fungi are then passed on to the trees. As a consequence, the forest around the river grows three times faster than elsewhere. And some trees here become as tall as any in the world. And provides the bears with a healthy home. We now know that such relationships exist in the forest all over the world." We are told that a whole community of animals and plants can depend on one tree. A tree fell "can break thousands of long-established connections. Every one of these trees is an intricate eco-system." Even the animals in their own way contribute towards the wellbeing of the forest and nature at large.

Then we are shown another scene where the virgin jungle is cleared and replaced by a single species of trees in Brazil. The jungle is cleared to plant Eucalyptus trees, originally brought in from Australia, that sadly, "are unable to build relationships with most of the native plants and animals." These trees are not spared either as they brought down at age 5, and their pulp made into paper.

We just can't stomach watching what man does to nature and the very world he lives in. If nations are at war that takes lives and destroys properties on one end, we are destroying the eco system in so many ways. What has happened to man? Where are the values that he once upheld? Even as we condemn them, I guess we are also contributing without really aware of our actions. We are equally caught in this vicious cycle.

But how can we abstain from all actions and activities totally? The sages surely did that. We can never come close to these great souls who see through the journey that they have chosen, even if death awaits them. What holds us back?

JN Bhasin studied the birth charts of prominent people including saints and wrote about the expressed need to have Vairagya in one's charts. He published his findings in his book "Events and Nativities Explained", Sagar Publications, 1974. If Vairagya is in one's charts, he shall pursue the path. Bhagwan had it. Paramahansa Yogananda had it. It is no wonder that Bhagwan left home for Tiruvannamalai at age16 and Yogananda rented a cottage near his home to meditate at 14. The young Bhagawan sat at the Patala lingam in the Annamalaiyar temple grounds losing himself totally, unaware of the insects gnawing into his flesh till the timely intervention of Seshadri Swamigal saved him. He had Bhagawan transferred to the Virupaksa cave. Tavayogi tells us that during his days of searching, he would at times sit to meditate and awake after several months.

I do not see Vairagya in my charts. I do not have the will power and determination to pursue the path into uncharted territories. I dare not walk alone. I am always looking out if Agathiyar is there. I need his consent and endorsement in all matters. Do you think I can reach the heights that the Siddhas speak about? I can sit in the comfort of my home and write about these ventures. But what if I am left in the wilderness alone just like Tavayogi describes, fanning for oneself, going hungry for days, seeking shelter from the rain and thunderstorms, trying to keep himself alive from being bitten and ate alive by insects, reptiles and animals. Jnana Jothiamma who knew me pretty well said that I cannot possibly endure the pain and agony that comes with the internal transformation which she had to go through. Agathiyar too told me that he knew pretty well that I cannot tolerate even the slightest pain. Yet the most compassionate father is giving me these experiences in the comfort of my home, tuning its intensity to the very minimum. Should not I appreciate what he is doing for me? Why does he need to bother about me in the very first place? I know that he knows, and is reading my mind and thoughts, and following my actions. This blog in a way has become a medium of communication between us. A reader and friend mailed me "I don't know how to get direct answers.... Can you please ask?" I told her to seek the Nadi where Agathiyar shall clear the air. Paramahamsa Yogananda asks us to speak to God. Neale Donald Walsch does that and has published these "Conversations with God". Agathiyar told me back then in the Nadi that he was always speaking to me. But I was not listening, I guess.

TRAVELING THE CHAKRAS

If the Soul (Atma, Jeevatma, Paramatma) is Shiva, and the Breath (Uyir, Spirit) is Sakti, the Gross Body (Udal) made out of 5 Tattvas and hosts 96 in total is identified with the Ego. The Gross Body retains the past karma which determines and brings forth a new body in each birth. It is a residence for the Soul to resides in it and a vehicle for the Breath that goes places doing its work.

The Soul is one though, and it is with the Paramatma. A portion of the Paramatma leaves and comes to stay in the body as the Jeevatma to relish past experiences and gain new ones. The Soul does not carry past karma. It holds only the experiences. It is the silent Watcher.

The Breath traverses throughout the body taking numerous forms as in the various manifestation of energies and the forms of Goddesses that is given to it. It keeps us alive. It moves us, an otherwise dead and lifeless chunk of meat. It is the vehicle for the subtle energy Prana that flows through our bodies. It travels within the body that is fully rigged and supplied with a network of nerves and Nadi, bringing on subtle transformations as in chemical changes and energy that moves our intentions as electricity moves our inventions. Only in a few is the Breath or Sakti channeled by means of Yoga to bring them to know Shiva or rather to bring the individual Jeevatma, that has all this while being renting a home that is this Gross Body, back to its parental home, the Paramatma.

Agathiyar in his memo to us on Udal, Uyir and Atma says that the embryo or Pindam made of Nunuyir or from the five elements (Pancha Maha Bhutam) derived from each parent's body in a specific proportion begins to take shape in the womb of a mother as a result of the Pranavayu flowing in with these elements resulting in the conception of an embryo and a fetus. It moves with and in the elements. If it is fated, Life is hence given to the embryo.

We gain some insight into the mechanism and science that goes into the development of an embryo and fetus from "Soul Searchers - The Hidden Mysteries of Kundalini", R.Venugopalan, Health Harmony, 2001.

The breath that is Uyir which carries Prana or universal energy enters the crown creating the Sahasrara chakra, which sustains the formation of the new life. It takes its place or residence in the energy centers or pools of energy or Kulam that it self-creates beginning at the Sahasrara. It then creates the Ajna that aids in the multiplication of cells that follows. These two chakras that retrieve and store information in the form of past karmic deeds from the cloud @ Param in turn create the Vishudhi chakra that dictates the Akasha tattva and activates basic breathing while in the amniotic fluid. "The other major Vayu tattvas are drawn from the universe." When this energy comes to pool at the Anahata chakra, the Vayu tattva comes into play. The universal energy brings forth the physical heart. Reaching further down it pools at the Manipuraka chakra that it has just self-created in the fetus. The Fire tattva coming from the mother comes into play here. The chakras of the fetus begin to connect with that of its mother.

The Sahasrara chakra divides itself bringing forth the Svadisthana chakra working with the water tattva and Muladhara chakra in working in coalition with the earth tattva. The heartbeat of the fetus is felt. The fetus is by then 6 - 8 weeks old. The other major organs start to grow. The chakras become connected with the physical body. The chakras of the fetus link with the mother.  Information is embedded within as seen in the vigorous activity in the fetus. By 24 weeks these silent and secret transmissions settle down and are replaced by the outside sounds and noise that the baby begins to hear now. At 30 weeks the Svathisthana begins to dampen the growth in length of the fetus. Other major and minor chakras come into play too. Supra consciousness and subconscious become present while consciousness is only activated at birth. When the baby is born the Sahasrara and Ajna close and the veil is drawn. When the newborn cries, it takes in the air from the surrounding atmosphere for the first time. The creative force of Kundalini Shakti or energy that created the chakras and moved the tattvas to form the respective organs then comes to rest in the Muladhara. This intelligent energy force having done its work takes a rest and begins to hibernate. When the Kundalini is again activated by various means it rises up the same road it came. As it journeys up, it begins to clear the blockages and reactivates and rejuvenates the chakras that have become sluggish and blocked by now due to man's lifestyle and habits. The creative energy that has since then hibernated or stagnated or ponded at each chakra is released again just as Agathiyar replied that I need not do anything for the energy would do its work.

C.W. Leadbeater writes on the Chakras in his book "The Chakras" published by The Theosophical Publishing House, Adyar, Madras, India, 1927,

"The centers are in operation in everyone although in the undeveloped person they are usually in comparatively sluggish motion just forming the necessary vortex for the force and no more. In a more evolved man, they may be glowing and pulsating with living light so that an enormously greater amount of energy passes through them with the result that there are additional faculties and possibilities open to the man."

Man is reborn again. Man then becomes divine and returns to the abode of the Divine. Agathiyar reveals that when the 5 tattvas that contribute towards the formation of the Udal is shed, the Uyir having no shed to take shelter now leaves to merge in the Atma and reaches him as Jothi.

Agathiyar in clarifying and making it known that Gnanam was not gifted told us that we have to earn it by putting in the effort, before the energies take hold of the steering and steer us on. Tavayogi asks that at least we gain some mileage before the Siddhas lift us up and lead us on. Agathiyar tells us that the energies shall do their work in us. In revealing the means of attaining the state of Gnanam he told us that one has to traverse the Chakras and gain the experiences that are to come on in this journey and finally upon reaching the Sahasrara, Gnanam shall dawn or shower on one.

Our sages, Siddhas and elders knowing pretty well that only some might make it into this internal journey, built temples to resemble the Gross Body and exhibiting and depicting this journey externally for the public. The Shivagnana Siddhiyar Supakkam, verses 270 to 274, translates this internal journey as an external one consisting of four paths: Taatamaargam; Sarputramaargam, Sagamaargam, Sanmaargam. Those who take up Sariyai while living in the world created by Shiva shall attain Salokyam. Those who carry out Kriyai shall attain Saameepam, gaining proximity to Shiva. Those who observe and practice Yoga shall attain Saarupam, or the form of Shiva. And finally, those who arrive at and travel the path of Gnanam shall attain Saayutchyam or Oneness with Shiva. These are often referred to as various states of Mukti or emancipation from a former or earlier state.

Tavayogi told me, the journey described by Ramalinga Adigal though it very much looks as if he had stepped into another world, plane or dimension quite unlike and again alike our world in some ways, is purely that of travelling the Chakras, encountering with these energies seen as deities residing within. Just as we exist in this world, it exists in us too. Agathiyar told us that he was the Prapanjam, and was in it, and that it was in him too.

ONENESS

In "Planet Earth III, Episode 4 - Freshwater" on BBC Earth, Sir David Attenborough and his team bring us sitting in the comfort of our homes to realize the power of nature. It makes you wonder who these scientists, biologist, film crew, producers and of course Sir David Attenborough is? They have made immense sacrifices. There are those who enter danger zones risking their lives to cover stories just so that we know what takes place behind the wall. There are scientist who spend their entire lives studying just one particular species of animal. Would we do that? There are trackers who scale the dizzy heights of mountains just to bring us the sights and sounds of these amazing places. Then there is this film crew that films an active volcano from merely some distance away. And here we sit and watch them in the comfort of our homes. At least I do. My granddaughter surprised me the other day when I made up a story based on the popular story from the Puranas where Lord Ganesa and Lord Muruga compete for a whole fruit. I included Lord Krishna too in my story. Dissatisfied with the outcome, Lord Muruga eventually leaves on his peacock while Lord Ganesa who earns the fruit stays at home. I told her that Lord Ganesa rather than follow Lord Muruga into the skies or Lord Krishna into the depths of the ocean preferred to stay home and watch the sights shown through documentaries. She answered, "But it would not be fresh!" I understood what she meant. It would not be the same as being there on the ground or in this case in the skies or under the ocean. We will miss the sights and sounds and the smell and ambience. We will miss the perspiration and struggle and the dangers out there. She should know for her parents bring her and her siblings on the slightest opportunity and every possible moment to the parks, the farms, the jungles and the waterfalls to be one with nature.

"The extraordinary power of flowing water makes it our planets greatest architect," says Sir David Attenborough. “Freshwater not only shapes the land, but life itself – it is the most precious ingredient for life on Earth. A resource for humans, and a home for countless species that simply cannot survive without it. Freshwater is the lifeblood for all planet Earth.”

We realize that nature is in no way inferior to man for it shows all the traits that man has. Crows' intelligence is astounding as told by science and even in the fables. A friend told us of how it picked up pebbles from his neighbor's garden and dropped them into the pool of water that had ponded on his flat roof so that the water level rose, and it could drink the water. And this crow was not schooled. It did not enroll in a college. Schools of fish do marvelous things. And they never schooled. It has all the wits and brains to trick and cheat to survive as in the ‘play dead fish’, a master of deception that tricks other fish into thinking it’s dead!" When a bird is away for a brief moment after building a wonderful nest to lure a female into his nest, another neighboring bird steps in and destroys his newly built home. Gliding tree frogs compete for a mate hanging on precariously to leaves and tiny branches of a tree on the riverbank. One among them begins to kick the rests and arrest the female that then lays its eggs on these leaves. I guess it's might that rule in nature. It is a test of strength and speed too. It might decide who lives and who shall leave. It can show us who is the boss if it wants. Nature dances and displays its talents. Watching nature in action subdues our pride and ego. It in fact determines man's life span on earth and his quality of life. The Siddhas lived in harmony with nature often studying its habits and adapting them. Many of the Yoga poses are said to have derived in this manner.

Man's strength these days is in who he knows, I guess, what we term as having a cable or an insider. Having a cable or insider speeds up things that otherwise would take time to resolve. Can having the Siddhas by our side be considered as having cables too? Well, it pretty well seems so. Things get done in a jiffy, all right. But know that they only come to our aid in matters that do not jeopardize others wellbeing or done in ill faith. In defining who is eligible to receive Gnanam, does that amount to discrimination? If the guru openly endorses it those not eligible would feel hurt, right? But he then knows that he has to work harder. Can the guru favor some students and ignore the others? Why are we causing a partition here? Those pointed out publicly shall then have their ego blown up too thinking that they are better than the rests, right? Should not the guru instead sow it to all and let those interested pursue the way? But sad to say nobody picks up these teachings. I guess this is the reason many saints traveled alone on this mystical journey. When gurus like Tavayogi sent the cart to pick us up and offered their teachings freely, yet people hesitated to come. They preferred to remain as the festive crowd turning up only during festivities. Tavayogi never tied us down. He never lay codes or rules to adhere to. We were given total freedom to pursue the course in our good time. A good disciple would definitely follow the guru's teachings although he doesn't report to the guru daily or is elsewhere. The guru and his teachings are kept alive in him. He treasures both as his eyes. Even if the guru has left his physical form, he knows that his guru is around in the subtle form looking in on him. The guru disciple relationship and bond can never be broken. And so was our bond with both my guru Supramania Swami and Tavayogi and of course Agathiyar and Ramalinga Adigal. Though we have stopped worship in any form, they live in us and in our thoughts and actions. Bliss prevails at the mere mention of their names. The sweet nectar and ambrosia flow through us at the mere thought of them. This is love. This is devotion. This is obedience. This is surrender. This is oneness.
