AGATHIYAR OUR CAPED SUPERHERO

I am truly blessed to come to the path of the Siddhas and have them around with me and my family. If I had a calling to read my Nadi in 2002 and took up the worship of the Siddhas immediately, my family came after Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal of Kallar ashram whom I met in 2005 asked that I bring the family too into the worship. Since then we have worshipped the Siddhas and they have been with us through both good and trying times. My family has seen a fair share of pain as fate dealt them a blow. But the Siddhas were there to cushion its effects.

When I was having pain akin to that of sciatica but resulting from activation of the Muladhara chakra, Agathiyar calmed me saying that he knew I could not withstand pain, hence he had cushioned the intensity of the pain. When my wife and I were unsure whether to pursue her surgery, Agathiyar described the entire process to us exactly as how the doctors had described it and gave us assurance that he would be with her throughout the operation. Again when we were unsure if we should heed the doctor's advice to remove her gall bladder, Agathiyar told us it was fine to do so. When my younger daughter came down with dengue fever Agathiyar came with Thirumular to spike up her platelet level. When my older daughter was feeling down and low in spirit after breaking her tibia and fibula bones in her leg, Agathiyar assured her he was with her, and saw through the whole ordeal, mending and healing it naturally. Agathiyar was always present to save the day. He was our caped superhero.

When my older daughter had an open fracture of her right leg after a road accident many years ago, the doctor at the emergency room suggested leaving it to nature to do the healing as she was only twenty then. Listening to our plea that she should return as soon as possible to complete her internship, he then suggested placing an external fixator that should have her back on her feet within weeks. But another senior doctor on his rounds at the wards called both me and my wife and asked us to reconsider our request. He agreed with the previous doctor's original suggestion to leave it to nature to do the healing. We heeded their advice. But as after four months there was no new cell growth, the doctor who saw her then told us that he had no choice but to place a titanium plate. But amazingly, he also suggested another alternative that can be performed under local anesthetic. It was called Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP) injections which "provides an efficient concentration of platelets and growth factors from platelet-rich plasma for use at the patient’s point of care." (Source:https://www.colliersportsmedicine.com). We opted for it. We were overjoyed to see new cell growth within days. She was saved from the ordeal of an operation to place a titanium plate.

My wife who was initially diagnosed as having gastric and was treated for it at clinics in the vicinity each time the pain came on, eventually, was told by a doctor who was doing locum at a clinic in her hometown of the possibility that it could be gall bladder stones that was causing her pain. The doctor who was in the surgical department at a nearby hospital, suspected right. It turned out to be true after further tests were conducted at a hospital back home in the city. Agathiyar gave the go-ahead in the Nadi reading that was read over the telephone as I waited anxiously outside the hospital. When my wife was waiting to be brought to another hospital specializing in this procedure over a weekend, the waiting which could easily take some 10 days according to those already waiting in line, was cut short to three days by the timely intervention of a senior doctor. She was operated on and her gall bladder was removed.

When my younger daughter was diagnosed as having retina detachment in a private eye care center, the doctor immediately referred us to the specialists in a government hospital. She was attended to the same day where her good eye was lasered immediately as a precaution and the other was operated on within days.

When she came down with dengue, Agathiyar conveyed a message to us in a Nadi reading that Surendran was having in Chennai telling us that both he and Tirumular were at her bedside and had increased the platelet count. She was warded for a night and discharged the next day.

When I came down with the dengue fever a year later, I had to be warded 4 days since I had fallen several times. The doctors wanted to make sure that I did not succumb to any head injuries or concussions.

When I had my eye checked too after my daughter went through the operation, I was told that I had cataracts in both my eyes. This came as a surprise as I had good vision though I wore glasses. Contemplating whether I should wait a while as it was no emergency compared to that of my daughter, Agathiyar drove me to have it done and over at the private clinic, by giving me irritation and grittiness in both my eyes that was cause for concern. The irritation and grittiness surprisingly went away after I had the first eye done.

We saw Agathiyar's hands in all of these miracles. Now I understand why Tavayogi, brushing away troubles, law suites, sabotage, and dangers was firm in his stand saying that Agathiyar shall take care. He instilled the same in us, to have faith in him and he shall care for us.

PURPOSE ACHIEVED

When divine truth appears ignorance leaves just as darkness is replaced by light. We become illumined or enlightened. And so the small piece of information from https://www.himalayanacademy.com/, where Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami cleared the air on the 3 Malams or Impurities that cover us, namely Maayai, Kanmam, and Aanavam. When we come to accept that Maayai exists but is constantly changing we have passed the first phase. When we come to accept that Kanmam or Karma exists and begin working on it we stand at the second phase. Aanavam that identifies us as separate from the One or Yegan when dropped ends it all. The purpose of coming here is achieved.

The One comes in human form to guide man ridden with the 3 Malas to move to the second phase. The One comes as Shiva to the one in the second phase. He in turn guides those waiting to cross over. Meanwhile, he moves up into the final phase where the One comes within to teach. With the descent of the One, he becomes one with him. He loses his individuality.

THE COMING OF THE GURU

I have come to realize why many do not hang around in the Siddha Marga. When the act gets tough they leave. When Agathiyar turns up the heat they leave. When their wishes are not granted they leave. When their desires backfire they leave. Many do not have the patience and discipline to practice what is given. They want instant results. Many prefer to hang around places that bring comfort and teachings at the same time, not willing to take the leap away from family affairs, careers, wishes and desires that they carry, good times with friends and relatives to get to know the soul.

Agathiyar has cranked up the heat and tells us that he is going to grill us further. I too do not know what to expect and if I will come through these tests in one piece to tell his name. Only time can tell. Just as Vradaraj and his brothers at Bronze Creative, Swamimalai cranked up the heat to heat up the mud from the banks of the Kaveri river and melt the wax figurine within, empty it, and pour in the boiling metal, to produce a beautiful bronze statue of Agathiyar in our hands, we too shall be put to test he says to sieve the rocks from the diamonds. If he had done this at the onset we would have run away too. But he gave us much leeway and was pretty much patient with us stomaching our nonsense. But I guess he had enough of the nonsense and has come down hard on us asking us to buck up or face the music. If he had at times asked that I rewrite certain posts for they sounded harsh and would drive away seekers and aspirants, and when Tavayogi patiently sat through with seekers answering all their queries, we saw the compassionate and loving father in action. Now we see his other face. He is a strict guru now.

The past five years of non-supervision made them lay their tools down taking cover under the pandemic. But this was the right moment to be in solitude and exercise one's vision in going within, taking the tool of Yogam. But as it did not happen, Agathiyar who considered it as wasted years wants them to catch up on these practices.

He has me plan several events in the upcoming weeks.

Touching on their health that had been neglected, he had me invite Siddha Physician and a head of a Peedham Thiru Ariva Aiya to speak on the Way of the Siddha or "Siddhar Vaalkai Neri Murai" that Agathiyar pointed out was not being adopted. A health examination to know the state and condition of their health and tips to stay healthy would follow with the dispensing of herbal medicines for those in need of them. Date:18.2.2024

We shall carry out the 2nd Pornami Puja for the kids and by the kids whom Agathiyar has brought together previously. The kids would carry out the Homam to the chanting of Agathiyar's name by the adults as previously done. Date: 24.2.2024

The adults would come before him at AVM to display their proficiency in the Pranayama techniques that Tavayogi showed me and several others in 2007 and that Agathiyar had me pass on to Mahindren in 2019. Agathiyar had him pass it on to the others. Date:25.2.2024

After the astonishing reading of the "Spiritual Numerology of Moses" or better known as the "Soul Contract Reading" by Haary Roshaahn Yograj that defines one's purpose here which mooted Agathiyar to come to enquire if I had known my purpose here, it shall be made available to others too. Date:17.3.2024

BLESSED ARE WE

It is truly amazing to listen to Agathiyar speak through his Nadi back then in the days of numerous Nadi readings. Now it is equally amazing to listen to him speak through his devotees. I used to sit in awe just as a little child sitting with mouth opened wide and listening intently to the stories read out or told by elders, listening to the Nadi. Now though the medium of communication has changed it is still equally thrilling. I used to look up to Tavayogi with my eyes blank often wondering how that was possible when he told me Agathiyar came and spoke to him. Later when Jnana Jothiamma came along she too would tell me that Goddess Ma would talk to her. Coming to Agathiyar later, she tells me that Agathiyar had intercepted our Skype calls and spoke to her leaving me in the lurch figuring out what was going on as the line though active remained silent. These days it has become a daily thing between us and the Siddhas. If initially, he came through the Nadi readings, he then came through devotees face to face and now even over the phone on calls and video calls keeping up with the latest technologies. We are indeed blessed.

Agathiyar has been reminding me since back then about the need to control my anger. Listening to my mother's prayers he gave me an hour-long lecture on anger management in the Nadi and almost immediately tested me to see if I could surpass the feeling. I failed miserably in his test twice the same day and within minutes after the Nadi reading. Then he revealed that anger would get in the way of my tavam or austerities and practice. After he kindled the chakras and had the energies travel up to the crown he kept reminding me that anger would bring these energies to fall back to their original places and bring to waste all his efforts to bring an internal transformation within. Why is anger considered an obstacle in the Divine plan?

Pon Govindasamy reveals to us the Divine's plan in his book "Thiruchitrabalam Yendra Sirsabaiyum Porsabaiyum Avaniyin Antaranga Arul Arasu Chidambara Ragasiyam" and "Vallalarum Brahma Jnana Sangamum" published by Bharath Book Bureau Chennai. He states that it is the mission of the Divine to save the souls that are riddled, locked, and chained by Maayai, Kanmam, and Aanavam and bring them back to his state of purity.

Pon Govindasamy explains the different states of the souls.

  1. The souls generally are tied down to the three Malams or Impurities, namely Maayai, Kanmam, and Aanavam.
  2. In dropping Maayai, they evolve into Rishis and are known as Piralayaakalar.
  3. The Maha Rishis who had defeated Maayai and Kanmam but were restrained by Aanavam are called Vignanakalar.
From one of the talks by Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami at https://www.himalayanacademy.com/ we have a clear understanding of these three Malams.

"In common philosophical use, when you hear the word maya you think of illusion. That's because of dominant philosophy in the Hindu world is Shankara's maya-vadin philosophy in which Maya means it's unreal; doesn't really exist. Maya in Saiva Siddhanta exists, it's just constantly changing. That's why Gurudeva writes "...the ever perpetuating dance." It's constantly changing; there's nothing permanent about it. So it's a reality but it's constantly changing. "Maya, the ever-perpetuating dance of creation, preservation, and dissolution."

"Karma: Gurudeva clarifies: "...(our prarabdha karma, brought with us to face in this life, along with the karma we are creating now and will cause in the future)"

"We live, in our normal state of consciousness, in a sense of separation and being an individual. But, in a deeper sense, everything is really One all the time. Paramaguru Yogaswami liked to remind everyone, he would say: "How many people are here?" And the correct answer is just one, swami, just One. So we tend to forget, we identify and we think of ourselves as a separate being rather than being just the One Being. That's Anava."

Man's purpose we then understand is to evolve to become Sakalar as in a Jeevanmukta, man who has attained Mukti while still living, and in return for this privilege brings others to the spot too. When a Jeevanmukta drops his hold on Maayai, he evolves to become Piralayaakalar as in the Rishis. The Rishi who drops Kanmam too evolves to become Vignanakalar as in the Maha Rishis. Only Aanavam remains in them.

God comes in human form to guide man to achieve the state of a Jeevanmukta called Sakalar.

God comes as Shiva to the Piralayaakalar who then turns to educate the Sakalar.

To the Maha Rishis, God comes within to teach. With the descent of God, the Maha Rishis became one with God.

Man shall evolve into Rishis, and Maha Rishis as he drops his hold on each of these Malams. This task of bringing man out of the Malams is given to the Vignanakalar or the Siddhas and the Maha Rishis who had defeated Maayai and Kanmam but were restrained by Aanavam.

Pon Govindasamy reveals further. In each Kalpa, the seven landmasses under seven Manus appear and disappear one after the other. When the third land mass Kumari Kandam appeared, God sent Agathiyar, one of the seven Rishis, as its protector. Agathiyar then a Rishi and a Piralayaakalar, learned the sciences from God who came as Lord Murugan and imparted the true knowledge at Pothigai. Agathiyar mastered the five aspects of God which are creation, sustenance, destruction, veiling, and blessing, and also achieved all eight siddhis. He then stood as a Vignanakalar, appearing as true knowledge or an epitome of Gnanam. He stood as Lord Dhakshanamurthi.

Having been there Agathiyar wants to help us reach these states too. We understand his concern and care. The Siddhas are forever willing to guide man back to God or Erai as they choose to name the Divine. That was the wish they put forward to Erai. From Velayutham Karthikeyan's posting in his blog Siththan Arul at http://siththanarul.blogspot.com we understand the compassion of the Siddhas towards humanity. Karthiyen’s blog entry brings us back to time immemorial when the Siddhas, being compassionate and kind, put forward to the Almighty, their wish to guide and save humanity. The Siddhas had wished that whoever seeks them out for solutions to their problems and surrenders to them, shall be pardoned for his past deeds, however bad and evil they may be. The Siddhas asked that man shall not be put through trial and tribulations and made to face the consequences of his actions but instead be saved. Erai granted the Siddhas their wish. After the audience with Erai, the next instant the Siddhas wrote down; the reasons for each individual’s sufferings; listed out solutions and remedies; and wrote down ways and means to overcome or end the seeker's problems, sins, diseases, illnesses, and sufferings. They wrote them in Tamil prose on dried palm leaves. These writings came to be known as the Nadi. Though the Siddhas are waiting to help mankind, Karthikeyan adds that one has to seek out the Siddhas to solve his problems. Simply said coming to the worship of Siddhas helps to break the chain of karma. Bringing us to know our past acts and giving remedies to rid the baggage, they bring us to their worship that burns the remaining past Karma to ashes never to raise its hood again. Bringing us to carry out good deeds and charity they bring a balance to the merits that determine the possibility or otherwise of a next birth. Then they bring us to Yogam where the internal transformation begins. As they have us start each phase they have us end it to move on to the next phase. Finally, we stand at the door to Gnanam. The Gnana Thiravukol or key to Gnanam is provided by the Siddhas. Though the Siddhas are waiting to help mankind, Karthikeyan adds that one has to seek out the Siddhas to solve his problems. Agathiyar's job is to identify and prepare the candidate and bring him to Lord Shiva eventually. Hence we understand his sternness in wanting us to gear up and place the effort towards this. We should be grateful that he has chosen us.

Pon Govindasamy writes that Agathiyar in this current era was Brahma's representative at the "Antaranga Arul Aratsatchi" based at Chidambaram. He is tasked to look into the affairs of the portion of the Vedas known as Karma Kanda. Agathiyar goes through each individual's account of merits and demerits (karma). To aid him in this task he has Karma Devas known as Chitraguptas. Besides that, he is responsible for culture, kriya, and agamas. He oversees Sanatana Dharma. Through his thoughts, he drives scientists and researchers to excel in their fields.

Having complied with the basic requirements the Siddhas take joy in having prepared the candidate for his purpose. He is then given the freedom to venture on his own. He finds his true self, nature, and center. He lives in society unattached and as a Jeevanmukta. He makes quick progress by remaining indifferent to all that happens around him and becomes a Rishi and a saint called Piralayaakalar. Finally, he takes the big step to becoming a Maha Rishi who is known as Vignanakalar.

We are indeed blessed to have come to be acquainted with a Maha Rishi of such a nature and stature. And it all started with his call to come to his path and worship him and the Siddhas besides the whole pantheon of Gods made through his tool of communication then, the Nadi. The Nadi reading did change our lives for good. Taking heed we started his worship. Love for him began to bloom within our hearts. We began to take his words as the Gospel. Compassion for others began to bloom as we began serving the unfortunate as he ordained. He came through his Aasi Kaandam to further guide us. He came as both gurus Supramania Swami and Tavayogi and upagurus to teach and show us the methods of ritualistic worship or agamas and Yogic practices. In their absence in physical form, Agathiyar comes personally to guide us. We are blessed indeed.

As "The greater the voltage in a circuit, the greater its ability to "push" more electrons and do work" Agathiyar comes to enhance our storage capacity and upgrade the transformer station in readiness to receive the high pressure and voltage that is to come within us as we traverse higher altitudes heading for the summit and peak of God-realization. If he in preparedness for us to receive his grace brought us to his abodes that were power sources on earth, in the preparedness of us to receive the effulgence he moves within and clears the path of obstacles, widening it if necessary, and pushes us forward with urgency. That is the grace of Agathiyar.

THE QUERY ANSWERED

It was just days ago that I asked who was the chosen one to continue Agathiyar's work. Agathiyar intercepted a phone call today and came to point out the Soul but restrained me from revealing it and asked to withhold the identity as he had to work on the Soul further. Hearing this I was overcome with joy for this revelation has fulfilled Tavayogi and my aspiration and desire to see someone take over the helm. I have heard stories and seen movements turn chaotic after the demise of their spiritual heads with infighting for posts and control of these. I have heads of movements telling me that no one is coming forward to take up the post. With these people sitting in the seat, how can they expect another to step up or volunteer I asked? They have to vacate the post first and appoint another.

Agathiyar revealed that if I had to journey with Tavayogi cutting across the forest and jungles to reach the current state, that Soul was groomed by Agathiyar in its own home. He equated this with the story of Lord Murugan and Lord Ganapathy. If the former traveled far and wide to gain the fruit of Gnanam, the latter gained it by circling his parents without leaving his home. He equated Narathar to Tavayogi as the link that initiated the drama in my life just as he did in Lord Shiva's family. It is just a matter of time before Agathiyar brings this Soul to the attention of others too. As I penned these words I am trying to recall all that he said during this time. Please come back to this post later as I update whatever I get to remember.

As for me again he asked that I work on my anger. He told me the story of a King who fell from grace due to his anger. He asks that I ignore all the noises too that bother me citing the story of Lahari Mahasaya and his message "Simply ignore it" to an aspirant who had a fear of ghosts. So too he told me to ignore them and stay focused on what I came for.

I am to learn from this young Soul too added Agathiyar. The Soul shall bring this path to greater heights added Agathiyar. It shall bring on the desired changes. On the same note, Agathiyar acknowledged the many bold changes that we brought about through AVM, when many turned away from doing so. We are truly blessed to hear the guru give us due credit hence strengthening our hold on these new ideas and ways. He said that spirituality too should take a leap forward as does technology in these times. He welcomed the changes that we at AVM had brought about and that has made history. He was full of support for us which was so reassuring and became a balm after he had hit out to us for not complying with his wants just days ago. I understood that the message was for some to wake up from their deep slumber and come out of their comfort zone.

Speaking on food and vegetarianism Agathiyar said that as the food was for the gross and physical body some body types and professions need meat and fish supplements. As the soul is apart from the body it is forever pure, affirming what was posted several days ago. The devotee with whom I had this conversation said that she was pretty surprised to read the posts on vegetarianism just when she and her mother had had a long discussion on it some moments earlier before she came across the post. She asked how could we be linked in a single thought on a certain matter as here they were talking about it and I posted something to do with it. And now Agathiyar was speaking about it again. Both mother and daughter were feeling guilty as they did take meat and fish on occasion. Ramalinga Adigal came and told them the same too that the body and Soul were miles apart as to their individual needs. I understood that he was even breaking the opinions and stand that his greatest devotees held on to, first by getting them to drop their hold and shed their rigidness on many matters including food intake, puja, and rituals and finally even to drop their hold on him too. He spoke about the need for his devotees to move away from rituals and eventually step into Gnanam, affirming what Tavayogi had instilled in us at the start of this journey. Eventually, nothing holds water I believe.

Speaking about the world's troubles, he assures us that good shall eventually reign. That is heartening to hear.

Speaking over the phone, he chuckled as he mentioned how technology is reshaping the means of communication with the divine. He welcomed technology that is put to good use. Agathiyar too has hopped on to the bandwagon using these bandwidths. I guess Agathiyar has reached out to more seekers and aspirants, devotees, and Sadhakas through this medium for the readership has hit an all-time high over the past week.

TAKING THE PLUNGE

If many chase their dreams, we choose to chase the dream of meeting our creator. What is the prize we pay? We have become misfits in society, community, and family. When many talk for hours and give opinions and views on politics and current affairs, their profession, and the wares they sell, we who know nothing but the divine find it difficult to fit in with this mainstream talk. If we cannot possibly step back into the mainstream talk, we cannot equally hide in the forest for we have become accustomed to the modern world and what it offers. We would not survive even a day in the wild. So we practically have no place to call home. I guess this is the reason monasteries, ashrams, peedhams, and institutions came to be. To provide a secluded and safe environment for these seekers to continue their work in peace.

It is tough treading this path in current times and in this environment. But one has to learn to overcome all these to stay aloft and afloat at all times says Ramalinga Adigal. Hence Agathiyar brought on the din and noise the very next moment he instructed me to go within in 2019. It has been 5 years now and I am still struggling. He has intensified these disturbances too. The thing is Agathiyar owns up to his doing and is not hiding behind the bush. He told a devotee that he had pushed him in his home as he refused to listen to him asking not to go out. He had him stay indoors forcefully. To add salt to the wound, he pushed him another time at his temple. If we go off track he turns the tables on us. Agathiyar can be compassionate and loving at times and at other times pretty scary. The gurus are not spared too as I came to know. He tells us that henceforth he shall be the guru he is and only occasionally be the father we once knew. It is scary, right?

He tells me that he threw in these disturbances as a practice for me to overcome or rather rise above them. He tells me that the going shall be tough henceforth. He tells me how else is he going to shape me into a guru? He is going to grill and toast me and others at AVM I believe. Now I understand Tavayogi's statement that we had it easy while he had to suffer at the hands of Agathiyar.  Just as a diamond is cut and polished to bring out its shine and stand apart from other rocks and gems, a guru has to stand out in public and stand up for his cause, never shrinking away in fear. The famed Nadi reader Hanumathdasan and friends who rushed indoors when it began to shower were asked later by Agathiyar in the Nadi how are they to become Siddhas if they were to run from the rain.

Can I withstand the onslaught? Now is the test of wits and strength I believe where the disciple is tested by the guru. The pampering has stopped. The honeymoon years are over. Agathiyar means business. It is the final leg of the race and he does not want us to drop out of the race when the cherished prize is only a stone's throw away. He reminds me not to do anything that would sabotage his efforts in pruning and shaping us. If in the years after coming to know my Nadi and its revelation of my past Karma, Agathiyar had asked that I walk with caution, taking heed and knowing what would bring on Karma, both good and bad, now he wants me to tread the final leg of the journey with extra caution. He wants me to do nothing. I needed no additional practice. He tells me the things that I shall face would itself be a practice. He wants me to remain quiet and calm and never blow my top for he says that it would bring all his efforts to waste. The energies in my crown would fall back to their respective chakras and undermine the mission. The best bet in these times of test is to be with oneself. If he had me go into partial solitude, in the wake of the pandemic, allowing me to carry out my duties and responsibilities and only to leave my home to attend to matters of importance, this time around it shall be forced solitude I believe.

If I had accumulated bookish knowledge on spiritualism back then in the 80s, Agathiyar decided to give me hands-on practical experiences, in getting us to carry out rituals that I thought were the turf of the temple priests, carrying out charity, and practicing Yoga. Rather than fill me will theory he gave me the much-needed experiences that would soon mold us into their form and stature. Tavayogi often says, "I don't know what else he is going to do, son". I am going through this phase now. So did Tavayogi give us faith and strength in the face of adversities telling us, "Leave it son, Agathiyar is there (to take care of them)". I am telling others this too after seeing his magic hand and magic wand do miracles. There are many other things he said that I can relate to these days. I guess we too shall see many more difficulties on the path as Tavayogi mentioned as the path becomes steeper and more dangerous. But just as he told AVM family members who hiked up to his shrine on Pothigai Hill that he was there to hold on to them when they slipped, we can take the plunge knowing that he is the safety net. If previously I used to quote him as having said them, now going through the phases, I speak with experience, I have started to repeat the words of Tavayogi to others now, after having the experiences.

As for the internal experiences, if I had felt the cool water wash me down too as I performed the libation to Agathiyar's bronze statue back then, today as I watered the plants in the heat of the day, I felt cool and refreshed as if I had a bath. If someone is massaged before me I tend to burb out air. The food I take in my mouth, chew, and taste, I believe is shared with others these days as I get great satisfaction in eating right till the cells. Though the going is tough on the external with things happening beyond my control, what is taking place within is total bliss.

WHO SHALL BE THE CHOSEN ONE

When we try to prove our worth, often miserably, before a guru; when we showcase all the wares that we had carried along as in collecting souvenirs before a guru; when we vomit all that we had read, heard, and learned elsewhere to suggests that we are well learned in the subject before a guru; when we intervene, try to help out or show that we already know what was to be said by the guru, know that you have failed miserably as a seeker. A seeker comes empty to be filled and is willing to listen wholeheartedly.

Now I know why Lord Shiva in a dream came to ask me to put all my doubts and questions on hold for a later time. It was to empty me of all my earlier readings, thoughts, opinions, assumptions, perspectives, and understanding. And that clearing took a long time, some 14 long years. When I was as new as a vessel Agathiyar through the numerous Nadi readings, my first guru Supramania Swami and later Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal filled me up with the stuff of the Siddhas.

Today Agathiyar revealing my purpose here wants me to play host to only a select few from the large numbers of devotees who came by to his Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM). One among this selected few shall take this path to its zenith. Who shall that be? Know that he shall be the one who just listens obediently and carries out the tasks given till he is told to stop and given another. He shall do it till his last days. This is the most critical time for AVM. It decides who shall sing the praise of Agathiyar in this soil in the years to come.

YOU ARE BLESSED

Know that you are blessed if you have time for God. Know that you are blessed if you have space for him in your home. Know that you are blessed if you have given him space in your heart. Know that you are blessed if you do his will rather than yours. Know that he then comes within you.

If in the initial years of my Pranayama practice in 2007, I felt an expansion of air that felt like a balloon about to burst as a result of the expansion of the lungs and the Prana energy taken in in large doses, in later years I could feel this energy in the breeze and wind and the air as I stepped outside into the open. If the coolness and freshness of the air were initially felt in every inhalation, in later years it was felt through the very pores of my skin. It was rejuvenating and revitalizing to just stand out in the open. I realize now, that it is felt within even in a closed room. What was felt outside is felt inside these days.

If I could feel the Prana in the food, in the very first bite I took, that then traveled to each pore and cell in my body, taking a bath under the shower too felt energizing and refreshing to the core. As a result of these enhancements to the senses that came about through the practice, my eyesight began to improve over the years. I started wearing eyeglasses to correct my sight when I was 15 years of age. I was found to be shortsighted needing a power of 525 and 475. Today I have a perfect vision. The eye doctor who prescribed the glasses asked that I store it away. I do not need them. So has my hearing improved tremendously that noise, sound, and speech at times irritate me. I can hear the humming noise of the electrical and mechanical equipment, which is amplified at night when all is quiet. I can smell what is in the air, just as I can taste what is in the food. My senses are heightened and I can feel the energies even when I am intimate with my wife. I can sense and feel the energy that is around me. What a wonder.

Is this what Tavayogi referred to as what is in the Pindam (Body) is in the Andam (Cosmos) too? He wrote that as the body is relative to the universe around us, a study of the former will justify a study of the cosmos too. P. Karthigayan in his well-researched book, "History of Medical and Spiritual Sciences of Siddhas of Tamil Nadu", Notion Press, 2016, writes, "They (the Siddhas) devised a systematic method for storing these physical and cosmic energies by attaining an appropriate body first and then attracting the cosmic force into it with the help of the mind." It is a journey back home to the source. The tattvas are the bridge to this knowledge. Since one formula would not work out for all of humanity the wise of the olden days had us engage in Sariyai, Kriyai, and Yogam to arrive finally at the state of Gnanam. Once we reach the other shore the bridge is burned down. Gnanam is the dawn of divine knowledge that burns all our earlier readings and false knowledge to ashes, recreating truth from these ashes.

The body becomes a receptacle for cosmic energy just as it stores physical energy that is called on when the need arises. As we are part of the universe too, the physical body resonates with these vibrations, functioning effectively. Agathiyar tells us that he is this very vibration. To connect with the Prapanjam one has to rise to this state of vibration. Ramalinga Adigal helped us reach out to her on numerous occasions. Agathiyar had told me that he would bring down the Prapanjam. He told me know that the day he left my house as the Murthy or bronze statue to another home, that is when he would bring her down. Today we see her presence in our home. I guess that is the reason too, he told me not to move house too. Just as I took a step and entered a portal at Palani Murugan temple in 2003, Agathiyar brought the portal closer to home during the years of worship. Now he has turned the home into one.

A SPIRITUAL CATALYST

What I had done all this while, is as what Jeeva had pointed out to me in a telephone conversation from Germany, that I had negated everything that came my way saying that this was not it, this was not it. It was because I did this, of course not knowing that in negating "Neti, Neti, Not this, Not This" it was a means to "going in deeper to a place where there's no experience, and realize Parasiva" (https://www.himalayanacademy.com/) He reminded me of Agathiyar telling us that arousing the Kundalini and keeping tab should not be our the intention and focus. Rather we have to reach the state of Gnanam. I am glad that I did this as I am free and detached today. Though Agathiyar only saw those souls that he had chosen to come and knock on my door, imagine if I had taken a liking to Agathiyar coming in me and listening to their problems and giving them solutions and at times literally "knocking" some sense in those hard and tough nuts whom he had come over too. As it was the years when Tavayogi frequented AVM, he knocked some sense into my head later, asking me why I had to be involved. Imagine if these people were to have advertised these happenings and brought the public over, I would have a long que in front of my family home. If I was not careful it would have bloated my ego and made others to think that it was me doing it. Imagine where it would have led too and how others would have capitalized the situation.

Imagine if I had accepted a Nadi that he had promised in the past. I would have been forced to issue tokens or numbers to people waiting in line to see their readings. If I was not careful it would have bloated my ego thinking that I was doing it.

Imagine if I had accepted the role of a guru when he sent a couple of seekers over some time back. I would be tied down and responsible to them as Agathiyar tells us that he feels it is his responsibility to save them. He voices his grieviences as he finds it difficult to mold this handful of devotees that he has selected. If I was not careful it would have bloated my ego thinking that I was doing it.

I was not meant to start an ashram or peedham and sit in it as a guru receiving visitors, the traditional way. When many approached Tavayogi to officially initiate their peedhams, he never once suggested that to me. I was not meant to build a temple though Agathiyar and Lord Muruga tried to convince me, and conduct rituals and puja and have visitors come to pray and leave, the traditional way. I was not meant to carry out a retreat having students gather and learn Yoga and leave later, the traditional way. Now I understand why Tavayogi insisted on bringing me to see some gurus and heads of some establishments in Ooty on my first visit to his ashram in 2005. After the visit, on our way back to his ashram he pointed out their nature and desires then. Now I understand that it was to forewarn me of the dangers in holding such positions. I am glad I stayed away. I liked to be like the river flowing having those thirsty for knowledge to have a drink and those willing to place their faith on the path, sail in its waters till they reach the other bank where they shall then reach out to others, passing on their newly learned and realized ways. I aspired that they learn the tricks of the trade and continue on their own in their homes with their families and friends. This was also Tavayogi's wish too. We came to understand through Lord Muruga who told us that Tavayogi had aspired that each home become Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM) too, just like my home did. So it was pretty easy for me to let go when Agathiyar drove me to happily close the WhatsApp group one fine day in 2019. I was not attached. Agathiyar's intention in bringing the shutters down on AVM was to have them stand on their own now after bringing devotion within and equipping them with the tools to carry out the rituals, giving Yoga to pursue their journey further, and bringing compassion in them to have them continue doing charity. But it did not happen. The dream to see each home turn into AVM did not materialize as they had other priorities I believe. And so it happens that Agathiyar had to come and trash them for giving priority to eating, sleeping, and diligently doing one's work but failing to put into practice what he had given before sending them off. It was precious time wasted he said.

If as by nature I was a reserved, though uninhibited person and refrained from all publicity and crowd, Agathiyar in bringing others to AVM brought me out. He gave rise to AVM, and its charity arm Amudha Surabhi, and had us register it as a movement Persatuan Teman Setia (PTS) and had the youths manage it. Then in closing AVM and having them leave, he had me go inside. I never resisted the flow but kept sailing the waters using the wind to my advantage. I guess Agathiyar and Tavayogi were happy going by their reviews. That was sufficient. It was enough if I had made my gurus happy. After having been content with life and having nothing further to look forward to, he had me erase the thought of taking me back, that I had voiced to him. Agathiyar told me that he had one more purpose for me. Agathiyar kept me in the dark till he decided that it was time I knew my purpose here. Haary Roshaahn Yograj reads the "Soul Contract Reading" and exposes it. Later Agathiyar came and asked if I had come to know my purpose.

When I came across Agathiyar's 5 tenets to mankind, it surprised me to learn that we at AVM had unknowingly adopted and followed them through, engaging in rituals and puja, charity, and Yoga. Later reading the "Soul Contract Reading", I and Haary, who was eager too to know why I did all that I did, were stunned to realize that I had lived out my purpose to a large extent. It was revealed that my purpose in coming here was to be a catalytic spiritual teacher. Wanting to know further about this term, I browsed the net and came across Teal Swan articles at https://tealswan.com/resource, giving a detailed description of this term.

"A spiritual Catalyst is a person who precipitates an event or a change on the level of spirit (the essential, incorporeal part of someone or something). Spiritual Catalysts, like gurus, have attained a high level of spiritual authority, awareness, and knowledge, which enables them to guide others. Spiritual Catalysts, however, do not aim to become “Leaders” to their disciples as much as they wish to cause their disciples to question and find answers within themselves. It is the firm belief of a Spiritual Catalyst that if a person is caused to initiate their own exploration on the level of spirit, that person will then become the conscious leader of their own life. It is also the belief of a Spiritual Catalyst that if a person becomes the conscious creator and leader of their own life, that their life will inevitably become a kind of living enlightenment; thereby allowing that person to live in a continuous state of internal peace and joy."

Just as the "Spiritual Numerology of Moses" or better known as the "Soul Contract Reading" revealed my purpose here, Teal Swan described my aspirations for others to the core.

An ardent reader messaged me voicing her joy,

"Read your blog entry today. As what I use to tell - you are our lighthouse" so suits the catalytic spiritual leader definition - Teal Swan. u guide us, let us find out & grow ourselves! Thank you for your guidance,  teaching, lessons, advice, etc via your blog. You are lighthouse who shine so brightly for ship or may be boat?? like me to travel!"

So I asked Agathiyar, "Can I leave now?" since he is looking and shifting through for the right candidate to carry on his work.

TIME TO RECKON THE BODY & THE BREATH TOO

If it was time to awaken the soul or Atma, it was also time to work on the body to become a fortress. It was also time to empower the breath or Uyir. Agathiyar has asked his devotees to care for the body. He has asked that they carry out Pranayama practices. He initiated me to bring in Siddha physician Arivananthan Aiya to examine them and speak about the Siddhar Vazhkai Neri Muraigal or the way of the Siddhas on 18 February 2024. He wants to see them perform the breathing techniques given by Tavayogi before him at AVM on 25 February 2024. He initiated me to bring them together to know their purpose here by reading their "Soul Contract Reading" from Haary Roshaahn Yograj on 17 March 2024. He revived the Pornami puja following his annual Jayanthi this time around, asking us to bring the kids together in prayer for each Pornami. Agathiyar has gone to such an extent to care for and see that these selected souls get to realize and empower their souls so they can do the work that he has lined up for them. He asked how long could he depend on me to carry out his work. I guess since my time is running out he has to hand over the work to the candidate who qualifies. I pray that these children understand his urgency and work hard to achieve his target and qualify to carry on the work.

TIME TO RECKON THE ATMA

It is pretty clear now how Agathiyar played his cards well. It is clear why he had called me to the path in 2002. It is clear why he had me meet Tavayogi in 2005 in Malaysia. It is clear why he had the youths come by to AVM beginning in 2013. It is clear why he brought down the shutters on AVM in 2019. It is clear why he is assembling them together again in 2024.

He is going for the soul or Atma. These souls have a purpose that they came for but have forgotten them. It is time to reveal their purposes here. It is time to awaken their souls that went into self-exile.

Animals live a mere existence. Are we destined the same too? Only man can know his soul and reach out to it. Agathiyar spoke about how rare this human birth was. We can never be assured that we shall take another human birth said Agathiyar sternly. We were not given this birth to live a mundane human life. Hence having taken one we are asked to fulfill its purpose and eventually seek Atma Vidutalai or release.

Agathiyar asked us how many times should he stuff this soul into a body. The soul has to be freed after gathering the learnings and experiences. When we are caught in the grips of Maya or illusion in this world we never realize the existence of the soul. We are so identified with the name and form, thought and desire, preferences as in likes and dislikes, and emotions. We only see the external covering, the label, price tags and not the soul that is in us. We do not abide by the wishes of the soul but carry out what we think is right and wrong in our eyes. The soul that is supposed to take hold of the body or Udal and breath or Uyir, and driving it, sadly is driven to the shadows as the "I" in us decides to take the upper hand.  It is only when we surrender the "I" at the feet of the divine, that the soul returns to reign. This is what is depicted as demons that are slayed and are stepped upon in the sculptures and paintings of the deities. But the "I" would resist every move to subdue it. Superficial bhakti or devotion on the surface cannot help. It needs a guru's gaze or touch to free us from the clutches of the "I". Only in surrendering to his will, will the soul arise from within us to subdue and defeat the "I" and erase it completely. When the veil or the "I" drops what remains is the Atma. That is Atma Darisanam.

The (Jeeva)Atma that went into self-exile when the ego took over at a certain period in our lives, has to be awakened from its deep slumber, sleep, and hibernation. The (Jeeva)Atma has to gain the strength to make a comeback and tear down the veils of ignorance. It has to gain Atma Balam. The guru gives it the strength to fight adversities. Agathiyar speaks about the invincible strength of man. That strength Agathiyar says is the intellect or Arivu. The ability to think clearly can bring down walls.

When Agathiyar in his short memo to us explained about the Udal, Uyir, and Atma, we did not quite grasp the essence of the 5 tattvas he mentioned. ஆன்மாவாகியது 5 கூறு தத்துவங்களைக் கொண்டது. It now dawns on us that the soul is the God himself that does the 5 functions of creation, or emanation (srishti), preservation (sthiti), destruction (samhara), dissolution or absorption, veiling or obscuring grace (tirodhana), and revealing grace (anugraha). (https://www.himalayanacademy.com/) The soul was the catalyst to assemble the components needed to take a form, substance, and body from the very moment of our existence. It sustains us throughout our lifespan as the breath or Uyir. It looks into the dissolution or absorption of components. As part of its play our Lila, it veils us too only to draw the curtain later. That is its divine play. Its reign then of course would be in line with the divine. When the soul comes back to regain control of the body and the breath it brings us to know our true purpose here and know its end. That is attaining enlightenment or becoming enlightened and attaining Gnanam. We begin to realize the importance of the body then and begin to treasure it for the breath is known through the body and vice versa.

The (Jeeva)Atma in us that is a part of the (Param)Atma then regains its throne and takes its place once again as the inner guru. Henceforth the external guru merges with the inner guru. The journey ends only to start another new chapter in the life of the seeker, turned aspirant, and sadhaka who himself now takes on the role of a guru to lead others to know their souls. He becomes a Jeevanmukta, having gained Mukti while still living. His purpose then becomes to enlighten others solely on the ways and the means. It is the responsibility and effort on the part of the sadhaka to ensure that he meets the demands and patience needed to reach the goal.

There is only one Atma. It resides in all of creation. It is not that the Atma that is in the Jeeva or entity is different from the Atma that is in the Param or source. Rather once the veil drops the Atma in the Jeeva comes to know itself to be the Atma in the Param. It is not even an evolution. Atma does not change in any manner. It is about Godliness, that of divinity. We are all divine Atma. Divine in nature. We see that at the end of the journey. We see the divinity in us at the end of the journey and not upon merging. We were divine in the beginning. We shall be divine at the end of the journey too. It is not about achieving or reaching that state. We realize that we were divine all the while. We are IT all the while.

MORE LEARNING

I had sent my daughter to work and as usual bought some steaming noodles, herbal soup, and hot coffee back. When I reached home I had this strong urge to talk to my elder daughter. As I was pretty hungry and since the food was getting cold, I sat to take the first few mouthfuls. Eating was something very religious to me. I take food when it is hot and fresh. I refrain from talking then. I savor the food. There is no other thought besides what was been chewed. But Agathiyar pushed me to call my daughter to ask her to address something. After the casual greetings, Agathiyar intercepted the call and passed the message. I came back to finish my breakfast and started blogging. My wife came back from her morning walk and was doing her work in the kitchen. Just then I heard the sound of breathing. Yes, it was pretty audible. I stopped to listen. No doubt about it. It was the sound of someone breathing. I took a look in the kitchen to see if my wife was breathing loudly. No. I opened the front door and took a look outside. No one was there. The breathing was heard in the living room where I work on my laptop. I stepped up to the puja room. I still heard it. I asked my wife if she heard. No, she replied. Soon the breathing stopped.

I remember in the days when Velayutham Karthikeyan Aiya used to pen his blog "Siththan Arul", we used to message each other on FB Messenger. He used to share many things that were not posted on his blog. One of them was how he was instructed to write the blog. Velayutham Kartigeyan Aiya was asked to post every Thursday. He would sit before his computer in the early morning hours before dawn waiting for a subject to write on. He would then feel a divine presence and hear the sound of breathing. Agathiyar would stand by his side and dictate the post. Yogi Ramaiah and his partner V.T. Neelakantan too similarly had many visitations from Babaji dictating what to write and share. Devi Ma revealed how Ramalinga Adigal came as a brilliant light with a form. He offered his hands and hugged her. It is understandable that when we hug each other we feel the other and their limbs and body. But here the moment he hugged her she was in the light and Ramalinga Adigal was formless. There was no form of him. The moment she took a step back, he was there in the form and shining bright.

"On Thaipusam day, I had the vision of Ramalinga Swami. When I was young Ramalinga Swami used to come channelizing. He used to talk. He used to sing a lot. After that no channelizing. After many years I had this vision Ramalinga Swami, here only, and he was just stretching his hands. I said "Oh My God" Ramalinga Swami is asking me ... and he hugged me. I could not see Ramalinga Swami, I could not feel his arms, but I am in the Light. I am in the Jothi. I said what happened to Ramalinga Swami. I stepped back I could see Ramalinga Swami, smiling. Then he proved that he is Jothi Swarupam. So hugging, no.. nothing... no arms, I could not feel anything. I am Light. When I step back - duality. He is there. I am here. Beautiful. So I was asking once you know, I gave prasad banana, I gave banana he (Agathiyar) was having it peeling the skin. Amma what is this Advaita, Advaita, Always Advaita. Then Appa asked where is the banana. Banana ate. So what you ate is Advaita what you are holding (the skin) is Dvaita."

Similarly, as Agathiyar kept encouraging me to write, a reader Jeeva from India who is working in Germany currently, speaking to me today told me to continue writing as he said that his journey started after reading the blog. He quoted certain passages from my blog. When he began speaking about the speck of light that I saw in my forehead, I quickly brushed it off saying that I did not give importance to it. It immediately reminded him of something he had read at https://www.himalayanacademy.com/ We are to negate each Siddhi or happening till we go in. "Neti, Neti, Not this, Not This: Go in deeper to a place where there's no experience, realize Parasiva."

"It is found in the Upanishads and the Avadhuta Gita and constitutes an analytical meditation helping a person to understand the nature of Brahman by negating everything that is not Brahman. ... The purpose of the exercise is to negate all objects of consciousness, including thoughts and the mind, and to realize non-dual awareness." (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/)

Jeeva had pointed out that I was doing it correctly though unknowingly. I then related the story of Dattatreya who had 24 gurus and learned from them.

"Dattatreya said that the Atman alone was his Guru, and yet, he had learned wisdom from 24 individuals, who were, therefore, his Gurus.

“My 24 gurus are: 1. Earth, 2. Water, 3. Air, 4. Fire, 5. Sky, 6. Moon, 7. Sun, 8. Pigeon, 9. Python, 10. Ocean, 11. Moth, 12. Bee, 13. Honey-gatherer, 14. Elephant, 15. Deer, 16. Fish, 17. Dancing-girl Pingala, 18. Raven, 19. Child, 20. Maiden, 21.Serpent, 22. An arrow-maker, 23. Spider and 24. Beetle.” (Source: https://sivanandayogafarm.org/)

Jeeva happened to be one then.

SONGS THAT ELEVATE THE SOUL

It is very much easy and simpler to attain God in this age. If one had to track into the jungles and stay in caves to get close to God in the past, God comes knocking on our doors in this age.  Tavayogi told me that he was surprised to see us arrive quite easily when he had to hit the dirt track in seeking and coming to God finally. If one had to track and find a rare individual to hear the Gospel of God in the past, God's text is available in print and can be read by each seeker now. All he needs is the grace of God to understand what was written. Agathiyar told a devotee to read the original text of Manickavasagar and he shall come to reveal its essence. These days we have audio and videos available of wonderful renditions of God's songs that can instantly elevate us to another level. Tavayogi traveling with me to a temple under construction in Bukit Rotan back then, listening to Ramalinga Adigal's Tiruarutpa playing in my car told me that merely listening to these songs shall bring one to the state of Gnanam.

Hence there is no reason that we cannot see God and experience him. Agathiyar in asking a devotee what was holding her back from remarrying, similarly we should ask ourselves what is holding us back from reaching out to God, given all these simple means.

I too have listened to numerous songs that have elevated my soul. I share them with readers here.

TAKING ON THE ROLE OF THE GURU

God does not deprive anyone of reaching him. Everyone has an equal and fair share of him. He does not differentiate his children classifying us as people and nations do. Although we each have an opportunity to return back to him we have to work towards it. Before we begin to work towards it we must realize that we came from him and need to head back to him, hence to know the origin or our source and the reason to have taken a birth and the purpose of it and working towards it. Here is where his children tend to fumble and drop out of school. Many die ignorant. Others find it difficult to come out of the rut. Many equally want to pursue their desires. Few live to fulfill God's desires. Very few chose to know what is beyond life and death. Only a handful make it to know the soul.

Haary Roshaahn Yograj told me that I should follow Tavayogi as in taking up the tasks and gifts given, instead of refusing them. When I quickly brushed it away, he told me to reconsider. Tavayogi who intended to take his life after he was blind for a year as a youth of 35, became a wandering mendicant voluntarily at the age of 50. In his 60s Agathiyar told him to set up an ashram in Kallar. When he was 68, he made his maiden journey to Malaysia to spread the Siddha philosophy again on being directed by Agathiyar. He made subsequent visits in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2016. He was gifted the Jeeva Nadi to read for devotees and after his demise, Mataji Sarojini Ammaiyar continues to read. The reason I stayed away was I did not want to take a plunge into the spiritual arena that was already suffocating, where the dragon was waiting to swallow us too. Haary has asked me to come out of my cocoon and take up my purpose as revealed in the "Soul Contract Reading" days ago. He knows very well where I was headed for, for he has read mine. Driving away our ignorance he comes to show us our true potential and true purpose. We have to take it up now. I thank him for this wonderful reading and revelation. Agathiyar came to endorse it yesterday and told me that he had now to prepare me to fit the role. I am getting jitters. If all these years I could sail through coughing out and sharing little bits of information on my travels to places of interest that I have been to and experiences gathered, Agathiyar since 2020 asked me to share my experiences. I wonder what is in store for me now?

I had voiced out to Agathiyar about the noisy neighborhood and my inability to try and meditate which he had commanded me to do. He told me these disturbances would still prevail even if I were to be in the forest but in different forms. Even Ramalinga Adigal told me to bear with it as it was a part of the process of reaching the state of Gnanam. This was at the start of my seclusion just as the pandemic came to rear its ugly face and had us all stay indoors. I am still combating it to this day. I remember Agathiyar telling me that I do not need an ashram life and that my home shall turn into an ashram.

In filling me on my purpose here he tells me that now he has to prepare me for the role. Giving me the little headaches arising from the neighborhood he tells me how else can I prepare you to take on the role. He has closed all the exit doors and the escape routes. He has trapped me inside the maze. But I understand that he is doing all this because of love. Yesterday he told me it was a practice in shutting out the noise. It was to prepare me to fulfill my purpose here. When I had reached the state of contentment some time back I had asked that I had enough of life but he held me back telling me that I had a purpose to fulfill. This purpose was revealed in the "Soul Contract Reading" some days back.

Haary Roshaahn Yograj who introduced and read the reading also spoke about his guru Devi Amma of Bangalore. Searching the net, I came to read the following at https://jubinsblog.com/devi-amma-whitefield-meeting-a-saint-in-bangalore/

"... one of the intentions behind publishing this blog is to bring to light how it is not necessary to go to some far-away place to meditate. One can be with his/her true inner self in the middle of a bustling metropolitan! I’ll quote from one of the verses in Sivananda Lahiri to conclude:

"One may practice austerities in a cave, or in a house, or in the open air, or in a forest, or on top of a mountain, or standing in water, or surrounded by fire, but what is the use? O Sambhu [Siva]! Real Yoga is the state in which one’s mind constantly abides at your feet. One who has realized this state is a true yogi. S/he alone enjoys bliss." - Adi Sankaracharya

Acharya Gurudasan or whom we know as Master Gowri Varadhan tells me that he could meditate amid the trains plying the tracks next to the office his father worked in. I guess I am a pampered child. So Agathiyar has to take the cane and discipline me too.

Agathiyar in asking us to buck up earlier, and giving us all a good scolding for our indifference to his teaching and practice came last evening and asked how long does he have to keep stuffing our souls into new bodies? இன்னும் எவ்வளவு நாள் நான் இந்த ஆத்மாவை உடலில் செலுத்தி கொண்டு இருப்பது.

His wish too is to have us end this cycle of birth and death and return to him. But we refuse to cooperate with him. Thus he has to take the whip now. He said now he shall stand before us as the strict guru. We shall fear him. Occasionally though he shall come as the compassionate father.

He tells my family and me that he has to bring others to the state he desires so that he can drop his dependency on one to do his job and tasks. All the others have to be equally empowered to carry out his work here. He tells us to get them to put into practice all that was taught.

STAYING STILL

When Agathiyar came last evening, I asked him if I should move house. He told me to be still and do nothing "Summa Iru" சும்மா இரு. If Agathiyar had tested me numerous times and given me lectures on anger management in the past both in the Nadi and when he came through devotees, last evening he told me that he would not have me practice anything else, since the disturbances in the neighborhood itself were a practice and a test of my patience. He tested me today just as he had tested me immediately after the hour-long lecture on anger management in the Nadi back then. I had a neighbor ramp up his motor for a long time. Agathiyar asked me to be like my guru Supramania Swami. After Supramania Swami moved into the 30-foot by 11-foot kudil that we built for him at Tiruvannamalai, an automotive shed was erected next to his kudil the following year. A colleague who visited Swami reported to me the noise and din that emitted from the worship. When he asked Swami how he could stay amidst the noise, Swami replied that the noise did not affect him in any way. It was true that Gnanis are beyond matter and the material world but to ask me to emulate him was beyond my ability. My troubles began the very moment he had shut me in my or rather his prayer room, sleeping there too, after he winded up AVM and had be go within. The knocking and noise from the inconsiderate neighbors during the day and throughout the night would keep me awake and angry.

I understood that Arunagirinathar was told the same by Lord Murugan "Summa Iru" which led him to remain in the spot he sat for some 12 years. Bhagawan Ramana too is said to have sat in the underground Pataala Lingam for years after several mischievous boys troubled him while sitting in the hall in the temple grounds after arriving from Madurai. Later Seshadri Swami moved him to Virupaksa caves in the hill. So when Agathiyar told me the same I wondered how was I to achieve this. As I tried to digest these words he continued, "Is that puzzling?" புதிராக இருக்கிறதா?  and added, "Well go research it"ஆராய்ச்சி செய்.

When Haary Roshaahn Yograj spoke about his guru Devi Amma in Bangalore and about whom he shared with me last evening, I could immediately relate to her and see the similarities with what Tavayogi held to and his teachings. I got an instant liking for her too. Searching the net I came across a piece at https://pradakshina.substack.com/p/deviammabangalore

Scrolling through I was surprised to read Devi Amma quote Bhagawan Ramana as follows,

"Bhagavan would say - “Submit to me and I will strike down the mind.” Or, “Only be still and I will do the rest.”

I got my answer to the probing question about the term 'Summa Iru" or Be Still. Agathiyar has answered me. He has asked to give way to the Prapanjam to correct the scene or scenario and not have me confront it directly. He also had me build up my patience and be cool.  I guess since I am still fighting the odds and battling these external interferences unsuccessfully, Agathiyar wants me to accept and settle in which is a tough thing to do. Sitting still, itself was a practice he says, and not an easy one too. Hence I understood why he said that the practice would even get harder henceforth. He was going to monitor and evaluate my current state and degree of anger, I knew. And he has been telling me not to let my guard down on anger as the energies currently assembled at the crown of the head would head back to lower chakras which would be a wasted effort as he had put in so much work into it.

THE SOUL'S DESIRE

A long-time friend in the Marga called me to ask if I knew any Siddha physician. I pointed him to my dear and close friend and Siddha practitioner who had helped me with Siddha medicines each time Agathiyar asked me to take them. Then he called me after seeing him and voiced his surprise. I sensed some uneasiness in him. The Siddha physician had told him that his son needed fish in his diet to overcome his health issues. I guess he could not accept it, being an orthodox and rigid follower of the Siddhas and being a vegetarian. But he fails to understand that there is a provision to give fish as an ancient Siddha medicine to patients by Siddha practitioners.

The Siddhas are truly radical. They break us and our hold on things, perspectives, and beliefs. Bhogar told a mother who was in the path of the Siddhas that she needed to take fish to correct her health issue. When my daughter lamented that though she was trying to bring up her children as vegetarians, the older generation rooted in their old ways forced meat and fish down their throats, Agathiyar consoled her by telling her that he would convert the food. How does that happen? When the relatives of a girl seeking a husband limited the choices for a groom insisting that he be a vegetarian and one who is into the worship of the Siddhas, Agathiyar asked them to open up to others too for how else can the Marga or way expand and flourish he asked.

A Londoner Jay Lakhani tells us not to let the menu reflect one's spiritual stand. He says we should not classify people purely on their diet, "Do not reduce religion to the menu in your kitchen. Do not reduce religion purely to the idea of diet. It is not what you eat but how you lead your life that truly dictates whether you are truly religious or not." He quotes Swami Vivekananda as having said "When something within you tells you that you do not want to eat meat, you are ready to give up meat. But do not force it on other people or yourself. When you feel that these animals are almost human, the thought of how can you eat them arises. It must come from within you then you will give it up."

Why are some then slaves to their tongue? The lure of meat is too great a challenge for them to surpass. All desires including the lure of the flesh and tongue have to die a natural death. If restrictions were imposed and fear instilled, it would lay dormant only to take up its hood when the situation and conditions were conducive for it to flourish again. Hence the need to exhaust all worldly desires, never leaving even a seed to germinate later. A devotee who was vegetarian told Agathiyar that her father who loved fish had asked for it on his deathbed. Agathiyar told her to give it to him and appease his desire for he had come solely to fulfill his wants and desires, ஆசைக்கென்று எடுத்த பிறப்பு.

Please let people evolve in their own time. God is in no hurry so why are we rushing to convert and change others to comply with our choices. Take the hand of the divine in all matters and you shall be safe. Read more in my earlier post at https://agathiyarvanam.blogspot.com/2018/10/to-be-or-not-to-be.html and at https://agathiyarvanam.blogspot.com/2022/01/to-be-or-not-to-be-vegetarian-revisited.html

Agathiyar told me some time back that henceforth I should be writing about the soul or Atma. I wondered how I was to do it with my limited knowledge. I have not fully understood the gross world and life, how could I understand the subtle? Slowly he educated me.

If many come to live out their individual desires, others live out their lives without knowing why they came till the end. By the grace of the divine, I came to know my purpose which surprisingly has aligned with my work, just as Agathiyar's revelation of his 5 tenets aligned with the activities at Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM) that we did in the years between 2002 and 2019. When Agathiyar brought three youths to AVM and had me initiate the first into his mantra and the other two into the practice of Yoga, he told me that henceforth I shall be their guru. He added that I had desired it. I was taken aback for since day one having seen personally, read, and watched how spirituality too had deteriorated to a sad state just as the material world in all manners of speech and conduct, I had abstained from fear and kept to myself and shared my thoughts and experiences to only the few whom I knew. So I asked myself when I desired to be a guru? I asked Agathiyar the same. He remained quiet.

When just days ago, Haary Roshaahn Yograj analyzed the "Spiritual Numerology of Moses" or better known as the "Soul Contract Reading" I was stunned to be told that my purpose in coming here was to be a catalytic spiritual teacher. Wanting to know further about this term, I came across Teal Swan articles at https://tealswan.com/resource, giving a detailed description of this term.

This is exactly what Agathiyar told me and my family this evening. He told us how was he to depend on one person to do his work. He had to raise everyone to come to the state where they carry out his work. Agathiyar came this evening and surprised me asking if I had come to know my purpose here, stunning me further, referring to the reading. Again he said that as I had desired it he had to fulfill my desire. And again I asked myself when did I desire. Finally, it dawned on me that this desire was not one generated by Shanmugam Avadaiyappa in this birth, but that of the soul even before I was born. The "Spiritual Numerology of Moses" spoke about the soul's desire. When I shared the message with Haary he too was in disbelief initially but was glad to know the truth of his predictions. Agathiyar added that he had to prepare me as such I had to accept all the trials and tribulations that came and keep my calm and peace. He asked that I do nothing, telling me that he had not given me any practice as the present scenario I was in was a test in itself.

Agathiyar is trying to break devotees' hold on the idol worship of the Siddhas too, getting them into the next phase which is Yogam. If Tavayogi stepped aside and showed us to Agathiyar, Agathiyar had us break away from temple worship or Sariyai first to bring us to the worship of a personal Siddha as in Kriyai and break that too, pressing us to take up Yogam and know the Self. He shall then come to explain and clarify bringing on the dawn of Gnanam.

Ramalinga Adigal was offered to carry out God's work of creation, sustenance, destroying, veiling, and showering grace. He did not end his life in worship but became the very object of worship, merging in it. So did the Siddhas turn into divinity. But man opts to remain to serve, worship, and pray till the end. Man coming from temple worship comes to worship the guru or the Siddhas. He substitutes temple worship with the worship of the guru or the Siddhas. He keeps worshipping throughout his life. He forgets that he can step into the shoes of the guru, the Siddhas, and the divine.

A LONG WALK IT HAS BEEN

Agathiyar tells us that anybody can become a Siddha but it is difficult to achieve what Ramalinga Adigal attained. Agathiyar laments that no one is following the Siddhar Vazhkai Neri Muraigal or the way and methods of the Siddhas. He tells us that all the practices and methods he gives us were time tested and carried out by them and had brought them to the state of Light. But if one cannot even follow these simple means and ways of the Siddhas how is he to follow his highest teachings and attain Ramalinga Adigal's state. Ramalinga Adigal taught Oli Neri or the path of Light. It is not enough that we dress and move like them. That is to discipline us initially but one has to bring on the internal changes and transformation that is only possible by their grace. Hence they tell us to worship the Siddhas first, gain their respect, love, compassion, and grace, and become a Siddha first.

Ramalinga Adigal who is only too eager to come and revive his teachings is being held back by Lord Shiva for reasons only known to them. Agathiyar had initially held back Ramalinga Adigal's enthusiasm to teach and bring change.

Haary Roshaahn Yograj in reading the "Spiritual Numerology of Moses" or better known as the "Soul Contract Reading" for many tells me that people are very much caught in the matters of the world and do not even know their soul's purpose. True. How many actually see themselves as a soul rather than a person. How many have identified with the soul and begun to speak with it and listen to it? Just as she surprised Tavayogi it would surprise others to know that my daughter asked him what was the soul or Atma sitting on his lap when she was only 7 years of age. Tavayogi asked us how many adults enquire about their souls.

Religious and spiritual movements are of little help having their own agendas. Only a guru who has realized his soul could possibly bring another to realize his. Only one who has been there can possibly relate, narrate, share, and pass on his experience to a new seeker.

All the tools, ways, and means are all out there but man turns a deaf ear or chooses to look elsewhere. Agathiyar is currently pressing a select number of AVM members to carry out his dictates, thrashing them and monitoring them closely. He is trying to rid them of their ignorance and enlighten them about the possibilities of achieving their true purpose here.

As Haary Roshaahn Yograj says once they begin to realize that things are not going their way, they shall turn to question the reasons and causes and come to know their true purpose. Success, peace, and contentment are possible only by surrendering to their cause and doing their work. Just as previously whenever I contemplated to end this blog, readers would write in telling me how these writings have made an impact in their lives, Haary had asked me to continue my work just when I was going to give up on Agathiyar's devotees. The blog too has seen an all-time high in readership count in the past week. Thank you for taking the ride with me readers.

Be clear that I am not a guru but also a seeker, aspirant, and Sadhaka who is walking just a slight distance ahead of others and sharing what he sees and experiences on the path. Neither am I a saint. I have made many mistakes in life too. I too have a long way to walk. The journey is indeed long for us who do not have sufficient merits to buy a token and get a ride that saves time and effort in walking. One wonders how many more births he has to take to reach the Holy Feet of the Divine.

THE MAZE

We learn that the soul was once one with God. It came down for various reasons. It is generally believed that it has to come back to settle old scores or bad karma, or receive the rewards and reap the benefits of the good karma done. It could also come to fulfill unfulfilled desires in a past birth. Then some might choose to come down for the sake of helping another soul and accompany it in this lifetime, and see through its much-desired experience. Others could choose to have varied experiences and leave after having exhausted the given breath in which time it would have gained these much-needed experiences needed to evolve further and that it came for. Then some come with a purpose too. If the body, breath, and soul are said to separate again upon death, after having been and seen through those experiences, could some souls evolve, dying and rebirthing in the same birth, without having to die a physical death, entering doors or certain phases of life and leaving slightly empowered and enlightened? Is this the "Saagamal Saagum Kalai" that Ramalinga Adigal spoke about? Dying to bad habits and taking up good, dropping the false and living anew for the truth, shedding the negative and taking up a positive course, etc. Is this a renewal of the Self? Just as monks shave their heads and adorn the saffron robes and take up a new name, could we become a new person altogether, renewed and energized both physically and internally? It seems like it and is definitely possible. If all these are achieved in this lifetime we would not need to die and come back to continue, right?

Man alone I believe cannot bring this change in him unless he is pretty much determined and has Vairagya. His very desire to attain a pure state that burns and feeds his inherent flame shall swallow and envelop him. As for others, we need the divine hands to help us, lift us, and keep us going.

If man could bring a drastic change in this very lifetime could he also bring a change to his fate and draw up a new destiny?

When my brother-in-law visited an astrologer Sri A.M. Duraisamy in the small town of Tanjung Malim in the past, I too had my horoscope charted for the very first time on 15.5.1983. I was then 23 years old. I relied on what was drawn up and predicted for me for years. When a chief clerk at the office Mr Sethu spoke to me about his astrological readings, I found myself standing at the door of astrologer Mr.Krishnan on 12.2.1996 when I was 37 years old. Later when he went computerized, I had a chart printed on 10.10.1997. Everything was normal until I saw the Nadi on 14.12. 2002 when I was 43 years old. I was surprised when Agathiyar in the Nadi drew up a new chart and gave predictions. How was that possible? Now which was I to follow? I asked Mr.Krishnan. He told me to follow the Siddhas. Since then I kept aside all the earlier predictions and followed Siddha's predictions from the 56 odd Nadi readings that came by. In 2005, though I and several others had been initiated into the path earlier, by Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal who was in town then, I went over to get initiated by him, again, immediately after the reading as commanded by Agathiyar. Agathiyar erased the Nadi reading after the initiation and redirected my life to come directly under the tutorship of Tavayogi. In 2018, Lord Muruga told me in the Nadi that he had changed my fate. How was I to digest all these? It was truly puzzling but I hung on to them and eventually, I was given the treasure and gift of hanging around with them or rather they hung around us looking into all our needs and directing and guiding us to carry out their tasks.

Days ago I and my family got to read the "Spiritual Numerology of Moses" better known as the "Soul Contract Reading" from a son, friend, and devotee Haary Roshaahn Yograj. It was truly amazing. If Agathiyar had spoken about the need for mankind to know his purpose here at the Tamil Sangam of the past, this reading brings us to know our purpose and work towards it. I shall let readers on in my conversation with Haary that is both enlightening and describes it all.
