Bala Chandran Gunasekaran, Surendaran Selvaratnam and Dhyalen left for India last night to participate in the Agathiyar Jayanthi and Guru Pooja celebrations at Kallar.
The two day festival starts at 7 pm on Wednesday 7 January 2015 with a devotional concert and classical dance performance.
On 8 January 2015, a flag raising ceremony to symbolize the start of the festivities will be held at 6 am followed by the start of prayers at 9.30 am. Guest speakers will take the stage to address devotees throughout the morning. Lunch will be served followed by the start of the Sarva Dosa Nivarana Maha Yagam at 2 pm. The Yagam which is performed with the intent to safeguard the public from the ferocity of nature; to ease the curses, dosa and karma of devotees; to help heal diseases and illnesses; and to create positive vibes and energy, is schedule to be over at 5pm following which devotees can seek Agathiyar's and Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal's blessings.
This is the 12th year the celebrations is held at the grounds of the Sri Agathiyar Sri Thava Murugar Gnana Peedham at Kallar. Stalin with Mariam Misliyan on their part have been aggressively promoting this fest in fb as seen in the Russian version of the invitation and schedule of events.
