CALL OUT TO HIM NOW

It is wonderful how Agathiyar has brought much clarity to all the things discussed in this blog over time.  My journey and subsequently the recalling of my memories and experiences that are documented in these pages are published solely to bring awareness to the path of the Siddhas that had always been shrouded in secrecy in the many songs of theirs and that we can hardly comprehend. Rather than have us go through volumes and volumes of these Siddha texts, Agathiyar and my gurus had us walk the path. Bringing us to him through a calling to read the Nadi, he told us about karma, as the reason for all of man's sufferings, illnesses, delays, problems, troubles, etc, something that we were not aware of before. Due to his love for us, he went through our past records to reveal our past karma. He then spent some time with us telling us what needs to be done stating prayers, pilgrimages, charity, and remedies. Now the ball was in our court. If we believe in his words and respect them our next course of action would be to get on with carrying out all that was told. But if we were skeptical and suspicious, wondering if it was Agathiyar who spoke or the reader had coined it all up to get some dough from us, we would have left it as it is. This is where our story takes a diversion just as in the Tamil film "12B" that was based on the movie "Sliding Doors" where two stories run parallel, one if the lead character had boarded the bus and the other when he missed it in the former movie and if she had boarded the train or missed it in the latter movie.

Similarly, our life tends to take a different course when we begin to believe. If we believed, our lives would work out differently from that if we had walked out as a disbeliever. In the former, the Siddhas tasked us to do things that would favor the burning of our past karma while in the latter karma would follow us like a dark cloud till the end. The choice is always ours to make. Anger, worries, suspicion, disillusion, confusion all can interfere in our decision as to believe or not to believe. If we walked away from the solution it can only be that our karma was so strong that even the little good that was waiting to happen to us has been intercepted by it. He has then to face life alone minus the company of the Siddhas.

For one who believed he would get on doing the prayers, charity, and remedies immediately. The obstacles will clear. The troubles will vanish. His problems will be solved. A classic example was when I and my wife were with a Nadi reader. Just then he asked us if he could see a Chinese lady first as she was wailing over the phone and wanted to walk in to learn of a solution. He also asked if we could translate Agathiyar's words. Just then she walked in as anticipated, crying aloud. We had no choice but to agree although I never liked listening on to other's personal stories and dilemmas. After she had gained control of her emotions, she narrated what had happened at her office. The Nadi reader walked into the adjacent prayer room and came back with a bundle of Nadi leaves. Agathiyar spoke. I was overwhelmed listening and translating it to her. That day I truly realized who Agathiyar was. He spoke firmly and assured her that her problems will go away. It was a Saturday. He told her to offer and place a lotus flower on a Shivalingam for three consecutive Sundays. That was all he asked for, telling her that he would either get the troublemaker out of the office or transfer her to a better place. We told her to do it the same day, and place another lotus the next day, a Sunday and for another two Sundays in a row. She left. As I and my wife had to see the Nadi again on Monday, and as we entered the office of the Nadi reader, he told us the good news that she had called him moments ago and told her that Agathiyar had solved her problem. What amazed us was that he had asked for ten days but settled her problem in three days, even before she had fully carried out the stated remedy. This was one of many success stories. And so we spread the word and many went to read their Nadi. Agathiyar through the Nadi gave solutions to their problems.

But over time we realized that not all were success stories. There were some who never saw the results that they wanted or they desired nor were their wishes granted although they had undertaken prayers, charity, and remedies. A young girl who was caught in this net of karma was suffocating under pressure from peers and financial institutions as the financial burden now rested solely on her shoulders in the form of loans and repayments. Besides that, she had the responsibility of caring for her aged parents and a sister. I gave her the recipe for success, the magic formula that was handed down to us by gurus in the Siddha path including Tavayogi. To all those who came seeking solutions to their problems, they would listen out and tell them that it was vinai or karma that was the cause of all troubles. If they were interested to learn ways to overcome they would reveal that the Siddhas could help bring a solution. The choice is then theirs to seek the Nadi of the Siddhas or worship the Siddhas so that they show some mercy. The choice was theirs entirely, no compulsion of any sort and no promises made. Otherwise, they could go their way and deal with the problem themselves. But what the girl told me surprised me. She had done all these. The formula did not work for her. She was still in debt and troubled. Recently a single mother with two daughters in their twenties called me to share her problems. She had taken up the worship of the Siddhas since 2010 but nothing changed in her life. She had been to places of worship, met gurus, and joined movements under Agathiyar's name, but the Lord had yet to show mercy on her. The formula did not work for her too. I was left figuring what went wrong. This was worrying us as the prestige and honor of the Siddha's words were at stake. We had no answers. Neither did Agathiyar explain. But both these women were strong. They did not give up. They still had faith in the good Lord that things will change for the better. They are still battling the odds. So it seemed that some could come out of their karma while others could not. Some could come out of it of their own accord while others needed the Siddhas' help.

But as the years went by we realized that the inner government and administration was not as simple as we had thought. There were many chess pieces to be moved especially for those whose lives were equally complicated. Though we realized that the troubles we faced were of our own making and we had brought upon ourselves such deep trouble I didn't have the heart to tell others so in their faces. Neither did the Siddhas. The Siddhas are very careful with their choice of words and refrain from hurting those who sought them. They would give them hope and continue to do so, even if it didn't seem that they could ever come out of it. I guess that they were fated to live the life destined. They had to face the music. There was no escape route. There was no consolation. Nothing was going to soften their landing. Does that mean God was cruel or biased?

Just as many personal predictions never happened, so was it with the many predictions regarding matters of public concern that many asked of the Siddhas. Issues on nations, their direction and where they were heading, politics, about significant public figures, were answered. Many did not turn true or have yet to materialize. And now with the pandemic and numerous predictions dished out and carried in social media, we are yet to see positive results.

Are we then victims of our own doings? Does the karma of those around us affect us? Does that of the society and nation have an impact on us too? It sure does seem to as we see in current times with the pandemic covering the face of the earth and hovering so close to home and making us unable to breathe the fresh air. Many have fell victims. Many we know have fell victims too. Although we had turned a blind eye on many issues before because it did not affect us directly and happened far away from home, now we are facing a common enemy on the level of a catastrophe where it looks like no one shall be spared. I could be the next victim. It has been a year and a half since it struck our shores too. We have lived in fear and continue to. With all the measures taken, yet we are not sure if we would be next. So we turn to God after having taken all the said precautions. We asked him for answers. He did answer our call for help. He set us to do rituals something that we had abandoned for a year and a half too taking heed of their directive to move from Sariyai and Kriyai to Yogam and Gnanam. They told us to turn to rituals in times of need. The need has arisen. While some lit the Homam as directed, I bathe him daily. At the same time, all the pressure they gave us to do Yoga Asanas and Pranayama during this period too paid off. It prepared us to be a vessel to contain the pranic energy from the Prapanjam. The many times Ramalinga Adigal came to initiate and show us the means to connect with the Prapanjam was for a reason too. We had to put to test what we had learned,  for they had us connect with the Prapanjam to heal the pandemic. It all falls into place now. They had prepared us well for the task.

While all these works on the Prapanjam something very subtle is working within us too. I am beginning to see the result of the prayer that was asked of Lord Shiva that we carried out. We recited the Maha Mrityunjaya and Dhanvantri Mantra that keeps fear and danger away respectively. Although the fear of the virus is still out there the fear within has left. I have a new understanding of the situation on hand. To gain my composure and peace of mind I decided not to worry about the impending danger but rather bring a change in my mindset. Rather than brood and live in fear daily, I have surrendered to him the consequences of the impending dangers that lurk around the corner waiting for us to step out of our homes. If ill-prepared and protected we shall fall victim too. Hence we need to protect ourselves first. Besides that, we need protection from the Gods. The Greek phrase "The Gods help those who help themselves" is very much relevant here. Since I cannot fight the pandemic of this nature, I surrender to God. I have done and shall continue to do all that is dictated by him. As my wife said let us live from moment to moment in these times of uncertainty I shall spend some quality time with my family as we are kept captive indoors.

So when a devotee who was on the verge of exhaustion and collapse caring for her parents tested positive feared for them, I tried to boost her spirit. After all the motivation did not sink in well I told her that it was time she faced the undeniable and accept the fact of the matter. I had to tell her that the change now has to come within her. She has to be strong to face the reality. I have seen single mothers manage their children with special needs alone since birth and never gave up on them. Neither did they desert them. These were strong women. Then there were the weak ones. I have seen women who deserted their children with special needs in the care of the grandmothers or orphanages and never returned for them. Agathiyar had always reminded us not to let down our guard and let down our spirit. Once we fail in these areas, karma hits us badly and no amount of procedures, treatment, and healing would save the soul respectively.

As Agathiyar penned a song placing himself in our shoes I shall call out to Lord Narayana too. Agathiyar sees himself face old age and death and pleads for the grace and mercy of Lord Narayana in this song. So before we arrive there it is best we call out the name of the God Lord now, for when all the system fails, how are we to thank him. Let us thank him now while we are still alive, hale and healthy.

At that moment of inability, immobility, and gone senile, or with acute illness, I might not be able to utter your name Oh Lord, hence I take this opportunity to sing your praise right now at this very moment while I am still hale and healthy.

At that hour when death approaches me I am not sure if I will remember you, hence I am remembering you now Lord Narayana, please take heed of my calling,

When kapam or phlegm arises and my tongue quivers, I am not sure if I will remember you, hence I am calling you now so that you would appear then to save me, Lord Narayana,

When vayu or the vital air comes to a halt, and all senses seize to function, and my soul begins to leave, I am not sure if I would be thinking of you, hence I call out to you now so that you come to my aid then,

When all that I thought was mine suddenly is of no significance and importance at the time of death, I am not sure if I will remember you my Lord, but nevertheless, I pray that you would come then Lord Narayana, hence I am calling you out now,

When Yama's servants appear to bind and take me away, I cannot promise that I would think of you, hence I call you now my Lord,

When my next of kin surround my death bed and wail and cry out, I don't know if your thought will arise in me, hence I cry out for you my Lord this very moment, so that you would appear to save me during my final moments! and so the song goes on.

This is what we should be doing daily for we might not be even able to say his name, let alone call out to him to save us in our hour of need. If he decides to take us with him so be it. That is total surrender only after all our concerted efforts have failed and never a second before. Only after we have given a good fight and not a second before. As Lord Krishna boosted the spirit of Arjuna when he laid his arms down on seeing the colossal catastrophe waiting to be unleashed in the Kurushetra war and wanted to back off and opt-out, let us battle this unseen enemy that is the size of atmospheric particles, fully protected as required by science and fully protected by the divine mantras. Besides these Lord Shiva asked us to use the Prapanjam as a shield. Let us be armed with science and religion and battle the Coronavirus.

ROLE MODELS

When Gnana Bharathi wrote in his book "Tamil Mannin Thanthai" that Ramalinga Adigal came in 1902 to conduct the last rites for Kalpattu Aiya I was truly overwhelmed and wanted to know who Kalpattu Aiya was who brought his guru who had merged with light back again. I managed to gather much about Kalpattu Ramalingam who later came to be known as Kalpattu Aiya from this wonderful book that was written in Tamil. Ramalingam was a yogi from a town called Kalpattu in Nadu Naadu or present-day Vizhuppuram. He was doing austerities on a hill at Thirunarungkundram, near present-day Ulunthurpettai. Thirunarungkundram later became known as Thirunarungkondai and eventually came to be known as Thinrangkottai. Kalpattu Ramalingam lived in solitude, continuing severe tapas, only to enter the nearby town once a day to beg for food. His only wish was to advance spiritually with the guidance of a highly evolved master.

One day he declared to others that on a particular day that he mentioned, a master shall come to guide him. The miracle happened on the very specific day Kalpattu Ramalingam had indicated. Chidambara Ramalinga Adigal or Arutprakasa Vallalar's blessed feet graced the town of Thirunarungkundram that day. Vallalar's eyes fell on Kalpattu Ramalingam's thavakudil or residence. Kalpattu Ramalingam who had anxiously awaited for the said master on seeing Ramalinga Adigal arrive was visibly shaken and was in joy. Kalpattu Ramalingam fell for Ramalinga Adigal immediately. He cried his heart out at the much-awaited master's feet. Ramalinga Adigal lifted Kalpattu Ramalingam and embraced him. "My prayers have been answered", cried out Kalpattu Ramalingam in joy. He continued, "I worship you master". "Please take me along with you", begged Kalpattu Ramalingam. Ramalinga Adigal told him to wait till he (Ramalinga Adigal) summons him.

One day Ramalinga Adigal thought about Kalpattu Ramalingam and immediately Kalpattu Ramalingam headed for Karungkuzhi where Ramalinga Adigal was staying. Kalpattu Ramalingam wept in joy at reaching Ramalinga Adigal's abode at Karungkuzhi. Although Kalpattu Ramalingam came to Ramalinga Adigal with high hopes and aspirations to serve Ramalinga Adigal, Ramalinga Adigal directed him to go to Chidambaram first and return after 6 months instead.

After 6 months had passed Ramalinga Adigal went looking for Kalpattu Ramalingam again and brought him to Dharmasalai at Vadalur. He had a kudil built for Kalpattu Ramalingam, east of Dharmasalai near a well, and instructed him to stay there. The same day Ramalinga Adigal gave him Gnana Upadesam to Kalpattu Ramalingam. Kalpattu Ramalingam never left that kudil following that wonderful moment of initiation by his master. He immersed himself in tapas as shown by Ramalinga Adigal. Kalpattu Ramalingam lost himself in bliss. If he had news for Kalpattu Ramalingam, Ramalinga Adigal would summon him. As a result of his severe tapas and its resulting Tava Kanal, Kalpattu Ramalingam's body became fiery hot and he developed burnt wounds. Seeing him in torment, Ramalinga Adigal commanded that Kalpattu Ramalingam be given food once a day. Once Ramalinga Adigal was away for days on end. Before leaving he gave instructions and reminded his followers to send food to Kalpattu Ramalingam daily. But sadly it was not done. Once on arrival back at Dharmasalai, Ramalinga Adigal inquired if Kalpattu Ramalingam was served food in his absence. As his followers stood in shame and remained silent, Ramalinga Adigal summoned them to bring food and headed straight for Kalpattu Ramalingam's kudil. He fed him with his own hands that day, taking him to another level of bliss. In another instance when Vallalar was saddened that his followers were not heeding his words and openly announced his displeasure at them, Kalpattu Ramalingam who was sitting among them, upon hearing these words of his master, suddenly fainted. Ramalinga Adigal arose and went over to where Kalpattu Ramalingam lay and revived him, mentioning, "I did not mean you".

When disciples of Ramalinga Adigal addressed him as Swami he did not like it. He did not want that name to be used on his publications too. He considered himself a servant of God or adigal. Once during his meditation, Kalpattu Ramalingam heard a voice question him, "Do you know from whom you received that Gnana Upadesam?" Of course, he knew it was from his guru Ramalinga Adigal. But he was told that, "You have received it from Vallal Ramalinga Adigal. Not only are you a student of his, but you are also his child." Henceforth from that day on Ramalinga Adigal was addressed as Vallal.

People from all walks of life came to Vadalur. As the numbers of devotees fed at the Dharmasalai increased, Vallalar summoned Kalpattu Ramalingam and Dharmasalai's cook Velur Shanmuganaar.  He asked them to take charge of preparing porridge and feeding the poor who arrived at Dharmasalai in large numbers. From that day foreword both Kalpattu Ramalingama and Shanmuganaar, heeding Vallalar's command, took it upon themselves to doze the flame of hunger in the hungry arriving continuously at the Dharmasalai.

Once as they were traveling in a cart drawn by a bull, Vallalar laid his head on the thigh of Kalpattu Ramalingam and took a short nap. Suddenly tears streamed from Vallalar's eyes and drenched Kalpattu Ramalingam's thighs, the floor of the cart, and dripped onto the earthen road they traveled. Watching this unusual phenomenon, questions arose in Kalpattu Ramalingam. Vallalar eventually quenched his thirst to know the reason for his continuous stream of tears. Vallalar had thought for a moment, "When would he see the day where peace would prevail by God's grace, where all suffering ends, where all are merged in eternal bliss, and where all come in unison bonded by love for each other".  Kalpattu Ramalingam on hearing this from Vallalar wept thinking how many people actually think about this or have this thought. Kalpattu Ramalingam too prayed to see the day where all sufferings end and only bliss prevails. Returning to Dharmasalai, Vallalar passed on the full responsibility of running the Dharmasalai to Kalpattu Ramalingam. Later Amaavaasai Paradesi joined Kalpattu Ramalingam and Velur Shanmuganaar with this mighty task.

In November of 1873, Vallalar who moved to Siddhivalagam entered and stayed behind closed doors for 3 months. Kalpattu Ramalingam and Kattamuthupaalaiyam Narayanar kept shuttling between Dharmasalai and Siddhivalagam. Vallalar summoned Kalpattu Ramalingam and Karanapattu Kandasamy and passed on to them his doctrines. Vallalar stated his disappointment to them on his followers not heeding his teachings. He commanded them to continue the act of feeding with compassion. Kalpattu Ramalingam sensing something, summoned Vallalar's followers to Siddhivalagam. After 3 months in solitude, Vallalar appeared in the midst of all gathered at Siddhivalagam on 30th January 1874. He spoke his last words then. Kalpattu Ramalingam and Karanapattu Kandasamy stood in a corner, silent with tears flowing. Vallalar revealed that he would assume the role of Gnana Sidhar for the next 42,000 years and disclosing this, entered the room at Siddhivalagam. He sat on a Peedham. Kalpattu Ramalingam had the honor and privilege to latch the door from outside. Vallalar went into a blissful sleep.

As ordained  Kalpattu Ramalingam, Subburaaya Paradesi, and Kattamuthupalaiyam Narayanar carried out their duties of feeding at Dharmasalai with reverence. On the 8th of February, 1902 Kalpattu Ramalingam passed on his duties to his student Subburaaya Paradesi and waited to merge with Vallalar, an act that baffled those around him. They ridiculed Kalpattu Ramalingam asking how he was going to merge with Vallalar who had left them some 25 years ago. Kalpattu Ramalingam openly announced that Vallalar will come forth to take him with him just as he had done in the beginning, bringing him from Chidambaram to Vadalur. That said miracle took place exactly after 48 days of his open decree, as ordained. It was the 26th of April 1902. Vallalar stepped into Dharmasalai after 25 years. Vallalar appeared in front of Kalpattu Ramalingam. Immediately Kalpattu Ramalingam left his mortal frame. His lifelong wish was granted that day. Vallalar carried out Kalpattu Ramalingam's last rites.

There are no words to describe their relationship that of the disciple and a guru.

So when Agathiyar spoke about Arjuna and that Lord Krishna took on his karma that would result from the confrontation and war that was to begin at Kurushetra, I needed to know who was this Arjuna whose karma that Lord Krishna took upon himself. What did he accomplish to gain the respect of Lord Krishna? From https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Arjuna we are given an insight into the relationship between Arjuna and Lord Krishna.

Together, the inseparable friendship between Krishna and Arjuna represent the cosmic inseparability of Brahman and atman, or the essence of the universe and the soul, one of the fundamental ideas of Hinduism. In a more general sense of comparative myth, Arjuna also stands as the archetypal reluctant hero, who is called to a task of great import and initially shirks his duty, only to reconsider and perform his task with unmatched effectiveness.

When duality and separateness are gone and the individual soul merges with the Brahman or the Jivatma merges with the Paramatma where is the distinction between good and evil, student and teacher, etc. Lord Krishna was using Arjuna to do his work, God's work. "Krishna reveals that he is indeed an incarnation of God, and manifests his full divinity to Arjuna."

So why was Arjuna special to Lord Krishna? Arjuna chose his personal counsel rather than the army.

Upon finishing their period of exile, the Pandavas sought the return of their kingdom from the Kauravas. However, the Kauravas refused to honor the terms of their agreement, which caused the great Kurushetra war to break out. Krishna gave each of the warring sides a choice: They could either be given the benefit of his personal counsel or of his army. Arjuna chose the companionship of Krishna while the Kauravas chose the mighty army. Thus, Krishna became Arjuna's personal charioteer during the eighteen-day war and protected him on numerous occasions from injury and death. (Source: https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Arjuna)

When Arjuna saw his own people whom he had to battle, he tells Lord Krishna, "When I see my own people arrayed and eager for fight O Krishna, My limbs quail, my mouth goes dry, my body shakes and my hair stands on end. The Gandiva slips from my hand and my skin too is burning all over. I am not able to stand steady. My mind is reeling", "he is counseled concerning the nature of the universe, proper duty, and supreme devotion." Agathiyar in relating this scene too quivered and his voice choked.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS FROM THE DIVINE

When a devotee called to ask to pray for his mother who was hospitalized, Agathiyar came to reveal the nuance in the process of medical procedures, our prayers, in connecting with the Prapanjam, and all about healing. He told him that what the doctors deliver is two-thirds of the process and the remaining third depends on prayers to their individual Gods and Goddesses and reaching out to the Prapanjam to heal. He told him to do it rather than reaching out to others to pray for her. He reminded him that He was in him too as He was in all. He told him to acknowledge the fact that He was in him and reach out to the Prapanjam to heal her.

Earlier another devotee called up asking to pray for her parents too. I told her to first thank God for keeping her parents alive all this while. She wanted them to be around till she visits them, which was uncertain due to the lockdown. Granted. The choice of words and the preciseness in prayer are important in putting forward a prayer. Agathiyar had often told us to be careful in what we are praying for. It shall be granted. Although it might have hurt her I asked her suppose Agathiyar extended their lifespan and only to fall ill again or they mess it up again and fall ill, what next? Are we going to seek another extension? I told her to place a prayer so that the parents recover well. Leave it at that. Do not dictate the terms to God. Do not dictate how long they should live. I had to remind her that her parents should have the fighting spirit too. Their soul should desire to stay too. If it chose otherwise our prayers would interfere with their transmigration to another birth that was in waiting.

When a family came to Agathiyar to save their newborn baby's life, Agathiyar granted their wish solely because one member of the family was his devotee. The child survived. Then they had other worries come to the fore as to whether the child would be healthy. The fear set in whether the child shall be fine as doctors had told them earlier there was a slim chance of survival and that if the child did survive would have to live with certain birth defects. Sadly too the family forgot to thank him for saving their child's life and have yet to bring the child to him as he had asked to see him. Agathiyar told us that saving the soul was his priority, everything else was secondary and could be corrected later. But by his grace, the child is hale and healthy.

Man keeps on adding to his list of wishes. This is how we add to our prayers. We want them to be saved, then we want them to be perfectly healthy. We want sight, then we want a perfect 20/20 vision. We want them to survive so that we can carry out all their wishes. Again when misfortune strikes, they ask that they be alive for there is yet much to do for them. We keep adding to our neverending list of wishes refusing to acknowledge that there would be no end to our wishes. It reminds me of a story told by Dharmalinga Swami of Kollimalai. A Siddha wanted to redeem his student of many past births who was trapped again in the lure of the world. When called to follow him he replied that the mother wished to see him married. The Siddha left. After some time he came and made the calling again. The man replied that the mother wanted to see him have children. The Siddha left and arrived again at his doorstep. The man replied that he would like to see his daughter married off. The Siddha left. But the next time he stood before the man and the man told him that he wanted to see his grandchildren, the Siddha determined to bring him to his fold asked him for coconut water to quench his thirst. As the man climbed the tree and held on to the leaves, the Siddha cried out from below, "Stop! Are you holding on to the leaves or are they holding on to you?" The man came down and followed the Siddha gaining enlightenment at that very instant. Indeed it is we who grab on to things and give thousands of reasons to hold on to them.

Agathiyar came to clear our doubt whether the Mahabharatha war did take place as only a day earlier as I was reading before my family, portions from Agathiyar's "Agathiyar Gnanam" that made me asks questions if these Epics, Puranas, etc were myth or actually took place back in time.  Agathiyar related an episode where Lord Krishna giving a discourse to Arjuna that came to be known as the Bhagavadgita, on the battlefield moments before the Kurukshetra war begins. Agathiyar told us that he could see the event right before his eyes at that very moment as he explained the meaning of the divine revelation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna. Agathiyar chocked and quivered as he spoke of Arjuna's dilemma in seeing his kith and kin arrayed before him. In a phrase, Agathiyar tells us that the karma that results from the action that is prompted by his God and carried out by his bhaktas or devotee who carry Him in his heart is shouldered by Him hence clearing another doubt that if God takes on all our karma man will go on a rampage in the name of God, blaming God as the one who drove him to do it. Agathiyar said it applied to souls like Arjuna and not the common man. This made me want to know more about Arjuna who could garner the love and respect of Lord Krishna and where the Lord dictates what he should do and relieves him of the fear that the sin of his actions shall be borne by the Lord himself.

Agathiyar went on to remind us of Bharathi who understood this and sang that during the times when he set out to do his thing it only ended in failure, but the moment he chose to do God's work it all fell into place.

Agathiyar viewed Bharathi as a Siddha. He is one of those who were never exposed said Agathiyar. This explains our question as to whether there are only 18 Siddhas. My wife inferred that like Bharathi the rest were never exposed. Though Agathiyar himself calls out to the Siddhas to gather around at times, then again Agathiyar tells us that all 18 are indeed him in many forms and names taken for specific purposes. It is like a part of him takes a form and name when called for action. Once the task is done the form and names merge back into him. Nothing concrete or permanent left standing. It is only man who has defined him in stone to be worshipped and looked up to. But he does take the form and name that man gives him out of love for him.

Agathiyar says the Siddhas shall educate us about karma and bring us out of it. How is that possible? They reveal to us about karma and what we have done in the past; get us to carry out remedies and most importantly repent for the past bad deeds; bring a change in our character and habits, molding us into a new person; and bring a change in our perspective of life and priorities. They bring us to do charity and thence extend our love to one and all. With compassion that blossoms from the heart it opens up to other's sufferings and misfortunes, prompting us to do something about it. Good deeds done then shall balance out the scale. Then they prompt us to stop even the good deeds as that too needs to be repaid in another birth. Instead, they prompt us to do their tasks that do not bring on karma, good or bad.

When I came to this path I went looking up towards the many movements that were splinter groups from one main center. Since the core business of these establishments was the worship of the Siddhas I imagined wouldn't it be nice if they all merged and came together in a single movement? But I never saw it happen. Agathiyar answered my question as to why all the movements run under his name cannot be merged under one umbrella? He did the same to Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM) so that each shall carry the seed into their individual homes and have many more Agathiyar Vanam mushroom. That was his dream and that of Tavayogi too. Agathiyar who called me to his path asked that I spend several days in the company of Tavayogi at his Kallar Ashram which I did in 2005. Tavayogi who sowed the seed in us asked us to carry out a Homam in 2010. Soon he came to refine the ritual. Similarly, Agathiyar sent several seekers to watch and learn the puja or worship of the Siddhas carried out at my home in 2013. He wanted them to take back what they learned and practice it in their homes. That was my desire too rather than have them convene each week at my home. When Tavayogi came again to Malaysia in 2016 we brought him to several devotees' homes where they hosted and carried out the Siddha puja to Tavayogi's joy and liking. But Agathiyar, Tavayogi, and I were saddened that it was not taken up regularly and pursued. Agathiyar tells us that he waited seven years for many more to take up the worship of the Siddhas in their respective homes. As it did not happen he could not have me wait for them for my journey would be delayed. Hence he broke the group in September of 2019. We had to move on never looking back unless a need arised to go back to these rituals. The need had arisen now as the pandemic begins to show its ugly face.

A devotee and reader asked me why the many religious and spiritual heads could not come out with a common statement about the impending Covid-19 virus. That would give us some assurance and hope besides gaining some religious or spiritual guidelines on the do's and dont's, apart from the SOP's released by the authorities. We haven't come across any. If there are we are not aware of its existence. What we see is individual gurus and heads of individual establishments, concerned individuals among the public, and the media coming out with statements and visuals to alleviate fear among the public.

Praying for an answer and a means to cope with the danger, Lord Shiva finally spoke to us. He did not have a miracle cure but had us engage in fighting the pandemic with assistance from the Prapanjam. The task given out to each devotee was to be done in his or her own home and with their family members if possible avoiding the need to congregate at any center or a common place of meeting in lieu of the pandemic and the risks in transmission of the virus. Agathiyar too asked us to heed the instructions of the authorities. The few who stood by Agathiyar were roped in to conduct the Homam done in their homes respectively, by Lord Shiva. We have since then adopted what he had asked of us to do. In this short span of several days where concerned devotees began rituals in their homes as directed by Lord Shiva, Agathiyar who seemed pleased with our efforts came to assure us that all shall be well. He told us that the rituals that he had us stop doing since September of 2019, were brought back now as we are seeing the onslaught of the deadly Coronavirus. With a reminder that we shall abandon these rituals once things turn to normal, he reminded us that the rituals come in handy as and when there is an urgency for doing it. We were reminded to discontinue it once all is well. He does not want us to get hooked on them and remain caught at this stage of evolution and never progress further. They want us to remain in Yoga and Gnana. Only now do we realize that they had prepared us the past year and a half by asking us to go within and practice pranayama and yoga asanas, coming often to enquire if we did it and pushing us to do it. They wanted us to be receptors of the pranic energy that is tapped from the Prapanjam, and with the might of Agathiyar's energy within us send it all out again to be dispersed back to our surroundings hence protecting our surroundings and healing the Prapanjam. Let us continue to carry out this dual-task that has been assigned to us diligently. With rituals or Kriyai and Yoga as tools to combat the pandemic and the whole list of do's and dont's as meted out by the authorities let us battle this pandemic so that our children and grandchildren who had been kept within four walls can come out and see the beauty that this world has to offer. We owe them this.

REMEMBERING GOD'S GIFT FOR MANKIND

A reader and devotee messaged me last night after reading the latest post, "A BREATH OF FRESH AIR."

This was wonderful aiyya. Eye opener. I do check myself frequently how much I've evolved , improved etc.. To be honest, yes I've changed somewhat in some areas but in some others ....

and continued to explain the areas in which she has not.

As she was on WhatApp messaging me, I was shedding tears watching a movie. I realized that I have changed too. I was a fan of war movies. As a kid, I never missed the 1960's war drama "Combat" on TV. I have watched the movie "Saving Private Ryan" many times owning a DVD of the movie. Surprising as it was aired on TV last night, I cried when the lead character Captain John Miller played by Tom Hanks goes deaf after the tank gun fires near him and he dies shortly after. I realized that I could not watch man at war now. So did I cry watching the movie "Hidden Figures" which shows discrimination towards colored people. I could feel the pain of others now. So it brings some relief when I read the news that ceasefires took place and wars have ended around the globe.

It just does not make sense when man is pitted against each other and goes against another in the name of race, religion, color, for want of more land and possession, etc. If these agendas bring nations to battle, the common man too has his fair share of disputes over wills and properties, hereditary land, inheritances, and other wants.

Radhanath Swami in his book "The Journey Within - Exploring the Path of Bhakti", Mandala Publishing, 2016, writes of what he saw in his travels.

On my spiritual quest, I left home and traveled the world.

He mentions that if there were those hardliners in all religions who condemn all those who do not embrace and follow their religion, believing and "totally convinced" that "they were the chosen people and all others inferior in God's eyes" and "hammered their doctrines", most of them were "lovers of God", and had "melted" his "heart with their love for the lord." Just as Radhanath Swami wrote that he told a preacher that he was sick of fanaticism, we too agree with him that "it breeds hate and not love." Swami's love eventually brought a change in the preacher who was bent on running him down.

I had met many good souls from across the man-made divide. When I turned vegetarian I did not stay away from attending social gatherings and official functions even if I knew that I would not have a decent vegetarian meal. But I would take the fruits, salads, and drinks instead. Anyway, the company of friends and colleagues was important to me rather than the food served. I stole away while no one was looking to get a bite of vegetarian food later. If initially, they enquired as to why I was not eating the main meals and hearing my explanation, they would ask to look around for what was edible and that I could take, soon they came forward to ask what I eat and would prepare separate dishes for me at future events. They would pass the word around that I was a vegetarian and remind the secretariat to cater for me too. That is how my office colleagues and friends began to take notice of my menu and lovingly catered for me too. Even when we share food at the office pantry, they would bring from home the food prepared. They would bring more than they could possibly eat and have it shared with others and would bring me the same without any meat or seafood. Once as my boss and another Major traveled for work, they were talking about the delicacies served at several stalls lined up along a beach in Penang. I listened on as they planned to stop over after work. On arrival, they began to walk the whole stretch of the coastline popping into every stall to have a look at what was served. While turning back to buy the food, my boss suddenly remembered that I was a vegetarian and that I had nothing to eat. I told her that it was alright as I could take fruits and drinks. But these lovely souls ditched their plan to eat out that day and drove back to the hotel where we could all have a meal, including a vegetarian meal for me too. Similarly, when my wife was away caring for her parents, my neighbor of another faith too prepared and passed us vegetarian food daily. Throughout my life, I have only met good souls of all nationalities. They respected me and my ideals, faith, and believe. I have no complaints.

We are quick to judge others. We have a practice of labeling them. We tend to see the faults and mistakes rather than the goodness in others. We fail to understand that evil often overshadows the good and drives it back into the corners. For instance, when we paint a picture of atrocity and talk ill of King Ravana we forget that he was a great devotee of Lord Shiva having achieved such a great state through his tapas or austerities that the Lord himself came to grant him boons. Now, where are we? Where do we stand in comparison with him in devotion or Bhakti? When King Duryodhana is painted as evil he offered Karna a part of his kingdom to rule. Wasn't that nice of him? Where do we stand? Are we charitable enough to depart with our land and treasures to a stranger?

What then led to their downfall? Instead of being levelheaded, Ravana's ego was fed to the extent that he thought he had overshadowed Shiva and driven him into hiding. Duryodhana too became arrogant hence leading to his downfall. So too we are told of the Vindya mountain whose ego was subdued by Agathiyar as he came by the mountain.

Agathiyar has taught me to respect every deity or God worshipped by every nationality. When we respect the Gods we then tend to respect their followers too. They are all there for a purpose just like we are here each for a purpose. For instance, when many spiritually elite shun and distance themselves from the worship of lesser God's or siru deivam in the Hindu pantheon of Gods and Goddesses, opting to pray to the deities from the mainstream religions, and tended to look down on these practices partly because it stemmed from the faith and belief of ordinary folks and as such is seen as undertaken by devotees from the lower rung of the economic pie and was believed to be exclusive to them, Agathiyar shows us the larger picture and their role in it.

Agathiyar in calling me to his path in my first Nadi reading did not write off all the Gods and Goddesses whom I had prayed to from young following in the footsteps of my parents and their parents and ancestors before them. He was all-inclusive asking me to include the whole Shiva family.

காணவே ஈசனோடு பூசை கூட
கருத்தாக அகத்தியனின் வழிபாடு உனக்கு

He had me chant Lord Ganesa's mantra, pay homage to Lord Murugan, visit Shiva's Panja Stalam, and brought me to several temples of Goddess Ma in her many forms. All these he relayed through the Nadi readings. Prior to that reading, he had come mysteriously a year before, to deliver the Vasudeva mantra of Lord Vishnu to chant.

He introduced me to the discipleship of a Guru appointing Supramania Swami of Thiruvannamalai and Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal of Kallar Ashram as my gurus. This was a new facet in my life, for all these while I only knew worship of the deities. Then he introduced me to the lesser Gods or Siru Deivam too. Although I knew they were worshipped but I stood my distance as a youngster for fear of being called up and apprehended or even worst beaten up with the whip that they carried when they took "possession" of a medium, when they stood on swords it pumped the adrenaline in me to flee the place. Of course, I would be back to partake of the mutton curry that came from the goat that was sacrificed.

But Agathiyar showed us the other aspect of these deities that we never knew existed. He brought a seeker into his path who was already used as a medium by these deities in the past. But what surprised us was to learn that if the deities came in him earlier either invoked by those assembled to answer their questions, they came on their own accord to solely pay respect to Agathiyar who sat majestically at our home. It was such a wonderful sight to see them "in silent communication" or through gestures that they made, with minimal utterances or sounds. This would go on for some time, with them hardly turning to us nor talking to us. Once they are done they left as silently as they came. No one around us including the neighbors was aware or took notice of their arrival and departure. But I came to understand that they shall pull the curtain down and block the sight and sound to those not "licensed" to see and hear. This miracle can happen in the solitude of our prayer rooms or in the market place too.

I had seen a similar happening at a temple where their entourage of "saktis" came before the arrival of the paramaguru who addressed the devotees. But they came with much fair and "frightening noises and gestures." Another obvious fact of their arrival at our place was that there was no invoking of the deities, they came on their own accord to pay homage to Agathiyar. As time went on, only then did they turn their attention towards us and address all those gathered. Similarly, there was no need to "send" them of or dismiss them as is done elsewhere. They leave when they are finished addressing the last standing man, women, or child unless there were urgent matters to address where they would leave abruptly leaving those last in line out. All these were new to us. But Agathiyar wanted us to know this aspect of their world too for as he says all is his creation and that he is part of it too. He keeps us reminded that "I am Prapanjam and the Prapanjam is in me."

While man battles each other and in doing so destroys this beautiful world he lives in, and that is gifted by God, it is reassuring that the numbers bent on doing destruction are small while the majority are god-fearing and respect each other. If many are contributing towards the destruction of the world, many others are equally battling to correct the misdeeds of their fellow man. When many had done atrocities in the past as seen in the pages of history, many equally are helping to bring awareness towards these unkind acts and bring change to us. Just as there are opposites in life, as in Ying and Yang, when one party is bent on destroying the other moves in to save as the superheroes do.

Many took up the task of bringing the beauty of our earth into our living rooms, at times endangering their lives, before it disappears from sight due to man's squabbles. Even the helicopter has to be rid of all unnecessary stuff and only take on a limited number of passengers in order to rise and fly in places of high altitude. We salute all those who venture out to bring us the world before our eyes. First, it was from the planes and helicopters that we were shown the earth. Superzoom lenses captured the wild from afar and from a safe distance. Then mobile robots came close to dangerous animals and captured their habitat and their habits. Then the drone came in capturing the field of sight closer to home and over a larger terrain. With space exploration, we see the earth now from above. With the aid of science, technology, and machines, man is seen to do wonders. We see scientists place radio collars on an animal to keep track of its flocks or herds' movements and remotely monitor them. So too is the apparent progress in the fields of medicine, astronomy, and space studies. It amazes us to watch man's feats and advancement. When man has progressed this far sadly many are tied down to petty issues and things in life. Similarly, Bharathi who Agathiyar deems as a Siddha, was disgusted when man's life resolved around matters of the kitchen and what was on the dining table. It is understandable for a man whose thoughts were set on the divine and all of its beauty, providing meals for the family was least on his agenda. But for a common man going hungry for days, food appears as God to him. It is all about purpose and priority. As Agathiyar said of the soul that is born to merely live a mundane life and others who come for a purpose,  Agathiyar has praised Bharathi, Ramalinga Adigal, and Periyar saying it is only they who could do what they came to do.

Watching BBC Earth's "A Perfect Planet - Making of Season 1" we realized how the team puts its life at risk to bring in this amazing footage into our living rooms. The documentary takes us to several parts of the world and brings us footage of the troubles the film crew went through to capture some of the most remarkable, magical, and astounding moments in nature. We learn that in the north pole, in winter the sun does not rise for 4 months on hand while in other places the sun comes up and stays only for 5 hours. Aren't we blessed to see the sun daily? When there are days when the sun rises late we too tend to get out of bed late. We feel lethargic and not energetic on these days. The sun is the driving factor in life. As Sir David Attenborough narrates in this wonderful documentary that took four years to film "across 31 countries, with crew navigating difficulties in extreme temperatures and remote locations", he says that "there is no time to lick wounds when something goes wrong or someone is injured. The mission has to go on." Neither do the animals sit and wait for them. "It's like a  search for a needle in the haystack in such vast terrains of the cold north pole and the hot Gobi desert." The need to combat the freezing weather that often freezes their drones, cameras, and trucks too in such adverse weather is shown to us on these expeditions. They battle the thin air in high altitudes where drones refuse to lift off. "They battle the waves and the winter winds that punish them but their adrenalin carries them through their mission." They need to make road repairs to allow their trucks to go by. The team gets frost in the eyes that sting the eyes all just to bring us these wonderful visuals. They test their ingenuity by placing cutouts of birds to lure them. Their camouflaged hideouts allow them to be up close to flocks of flamingoes. "With experience comes a newfound respect," says a cameraman. I too after learning to chart my horoscope had a newfound respect for astrologers. After Agathiyar brought newfound experiences in brushing with the so-called lesser deities I have begun to respect them rather than fear them.

David reiterates that "If it weren't for these teams it (the existence of endangered animals) would have disappeared forever. But because of their work, we might save the icon of the Gobi." Similarly, we realize that it is of utmost importance to document. I am glad that I have begun to document my insignificant experiences in these pages for I know too well that my memory shall fail me someday and it shall all be lost. But just as Tom Hanks says to Matt Damon that he would prefer that certain memories stay with him when Matt asks him if he would want to share his time with his wife in the rose garden, there are some secrets between Agathiyar and me that I prefer to keep to myself too. And of course, there are other revelations that he did not sanction me to reveal as yet. Bravo to these brave souls who enlighten us on the last remaining and almost extinct species on earth and many unseen creations of the divine. Although we cannot possibly follow in the footsteps of these brave souls, let us begin to do our small part and work with the Prapajam in its moments of need just as it had sustained us all these years.

Man who sees division in all things fails to understand that when he is in serious need of blood transfusion, would he reject blood from the collective blood bank and wait until a fellow follower arrives to give him the much-needed blood? Man fails to realize that it is the breath that unites all of us, unites all races, gender, and across all ages, the living, the inhabitants of the subtle unseen world, and Prapanjam at large. It is the breath that traverses through all beings and arrives at our nostrils too where we inhale and digest it. We in turn return it to our surroundings to be inhaled by others irrespective of faith, religion, and creed or be it another animal. Now the dreaded virus has hitched on the breath forcing us to cover our nostrils and mouths to prevent being infected and infecting another respectively.

This is the voice of the lone man, representing the views of the most common folks who do not have access to the world's governments and dignitaries, politicians, and policymakers. It shall be futile too for it's not that they do not know but pride stands in their way. But we sure do have access to God. Today he has asked us to join hands in placing a universal prayer to Prapanjam, paying homage and respect to it and thus connecting with it. One connected he asked that we tap into its resources and energy. The ensuing energy shall vibrate vigorously in us and will leave us to heal the parts of the Prapanjam that is wounded. We are asked to tap into the Prapanjam and transmit its energy, now multiplied many folds in us, and return this renewed energy back to it to heal it. Those not physically and mentally prepared and ready to receive this energy from the Prapanjam can opt to light the Homa that connects us with the Prapanjam and energizes us too. This renewed energy is given back to our surroundings just as the smoke from the sacrificial fire pit travels a vast distance horizontally and vertically covering much of land and air to bring about healing. It's time we came together to save our planet. Let us join forces with the Prapanjam to fight off all evil and diseases. Let us treasure God's gift to us.

Maha Mrityunjaya & Dhanvantri Mantra

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR

I was happy to receive messages from devotees of Agathiyar who took up the call by Lord Shiva to conduct the Homam in their homes. Suren, the couple Sri Krishna, and Sri Dewi, and another couple Balachander and Shanti took up the cue from Mahindran who had the thought of doing it in his home initially and that was endorsed by Shiva upon descending during the ritual.

Suren: "Hi sir just did yagam, Sidhar potri followed by 18 times each  mrityunjaya mantra and dhanvantiri mantra."

Balachander: "Getting ready for yagam in our house from today evenings. We intend to recite both the mantras Maha mrityunjaya mantra and dhanvanthri mantra. 21 times each for atleast 48 days",

while Sri Krishna informed me they shall light the Homam and chant the mantras once a week till we see some positive results in the pandemic mellowing and dying off.

From Lord Shiva's message, we understand pretty well that the pandemic is our doing, result of not adhering to cleanliness and not following instructions. Agathiyar too had told us to abide by the rules that are laid down by the authorities. In the wake of the pandemic and going by the many postings on social media, I tend to understand why Tavayogi classified man into three categories. When Tavayogi spoke about the receptiveness of people to certain teachings, he classified them as having the nature of peat, charcoal, and petrol. Peat fires may burn for great lengths of time, or smolder underground and reignite later. Charcoal if fanned will catch on and burn well. Petrol catches fire easily.  We have seen people indifferent to the virus that is lurking everywhere, even after repeated warnings regarding its seriousness and reminders are given out continuously and even after seeing many die from it. These people belong to the peat. We can never knock sense into them. Some are arrogant and turn violent too. Only God can save these souls. Then there are others whom we have to keep reminding over and over again to adopt the SOP's laid. Only then do they abide. These belong to charcoal. But then like a breath of fresh air there are those who take preventive measures without having to instruct, remind or threaten them with fines or jail terms. These belong to the category of petrol. They adhere to and abide by the rules. I love these people.

If Tavayogi divides man into these three categories, on the other hand, Annie Besant in her talks on "The Laws of the Higher Life", the Theosophical Publishing House, 1903, draws two distinct division to people and their brains. The coarser vibrations of the lower world and those adapted to it are one. The other are those who are in the front of evolution and of a subtler nature.

Annie explains further. The more highly evolved brain that is sensitive and readily responsive to subtle vibrations is that of the spiritual genius - spiritual, artistic, literary. Then the normal brain under undue stress and emotion becoming sensitive and tense, is the brain of the religious mystic and seer. While the former is careless of ordinary affairs, the latter with its "intense desire to reach a higher life overstrains the nerves hence rendering it sensitive to answer vibrations from the subtler planes of being. Then visions and abnormal happenings will occur. The superphysical consciousness finds at least for the brief moment a vehicle sufficiently sensitive to receive and answer to its impulses. The neuropathic brain affords the conditions necessary for the vision that belongs to the superphysical world, to impress itself on the physical consciousness."

Here she says that "We are dealing with vehicles in the ordinary stage of evolution, unfit for subtle vibrations." The medium could place himself in danger. The unfit brain, in straining itself to answer to the higher could go cuckoo. But Annie asks us to look towards the East for answers to "how this danger has been understood and guarded against and avoided."

"The self gathers around it upadhi upon upadhi, vehicle after vehicle, gradually shaping its own instruments."

He shapes a physical body that works into bringing his activities alive, he shapes an astral body expressing his emotions to others, and he shapes a mental body, to communicate his thoughts with others.

"Here we see a consciousness that shapes bodies according to its needs, gradually refining them and bringing them under the control of the higher."

Annie describes the change that is needed to be brought forth,

"The brain has to be changed, refined, improved, its connecting links fashioned and manufactured for the purposes of the expression of the higher consciousness."

As heads of families where duty prevails, we are obligated and responsible to many people, called the law of outer obligation. There is yet another facet of law, the inner law that demands sacrifice from us, where everything is done gladly and willingly and in perfect self-surrender, she says.

"Here he works because the divine outwelling finds its channel in his life, and he needs no outer compulsion because of the perfection of the inner law."

He grows. The sacrifice that is a faint reflection of the divine grows in him as he has connected with the larger consciousness. The divine consciousness begins to work through him its laws expanding to envelope all those with whom he comes into contact. A movement is generated to do His divine bidding. Whoever throws his heart at the Lotus Feet of the Divine is roped into for his mission. He becomes a channel of the divine outpouring transmitting not his love but the great outpouring of love of the divine. He becomes His apostle. Then nature is conquered through his obedience.

Shiva, Agathiyar, and Ramalinga Adigal reveal the same.

Shiva says that his energy and that of Agathiyar are in us too. "என் சக்தி உங்களிடம் உள்ளது. நிமிர்ந்து நடங்கள். பெருமையுடன் வாழுங்கள். அகத்தியன் உங்களில் வாழ்கின்றான்."

Ramalinga Adigal confirms Annie's words that "nature is conquered through his obedience."

"பிரபஞ்சத்தை உள்ளுக்குள் செலுத்துங்கள். பிரபஞ்சம் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டுப் படும். துணை வரும்."

Man who wished to make rapid progress escaped into the jungle, where he is brought into the alpha state almost immediately. Here he is saved from the constant bombardment of "coarser magnetism of the outer world", where "rougher vibrations" do not assail him.

Yogi Ramsuratkumar too expressed this saying that it is a blessing indeed if one could go into a meditative state in these times where there are a myriad of waves emitted from appliances and gadgets that disturb meditation. So when I lament to Agathiyar of my failure, he seemed pleased that I have been trying. "நீ முயற்சிக்கின்ராய்", he said appreciating my effort.

Annie continues.

"Here, in the jungle, they meditated making the brain tense and refined by the concentration of the mind, and restraint of lower faculties, fixed in rapt attention on the higher, with the consciousness working from above playing on the physical brain and tuning it to respond safely to the higher vibrations."

Tavayogi too said that our efforts are only till the first two initial stages, Muladhara and Svadisthana. Thenceforth the divine shall come within us and its energy shall traverse through us to bring us to higher states of consciousness. Annie continues further.

"Then it strove to draw the lower upwards until it answered no longer to the stimuli of the outer world. This is a state of yoga - complete withdrawal of the consciousness from the Indriyas."

"Now making the mind steady, holding quiet the powers of the mind, the mind ceases to vibrate, and it becomes still - able to answer the vibrations coming from above."

Agathiyar who sees only the soul in man, states that there are two types of souls. Those that come to live a life of Bhogam or pleasure as with eating, living, enjoying, and dying and those that come with a purpose. Lord Shiva has given us a task. He asks us to bring the vibrations in the Prapanjam within. When a devotee who had worshipped Agathiyar for years wanted him to show his true self, Agathiyar asked her back what she had felt in all the years of prayers, puja, worship, and in doing charity. She replied that she felt a vibration. "I am that", he replied. Agathiyar told us that he was the inherent vibration that is felt in all our noble endeavors. Shiva too gets us to connect with this vibration. "When engaged with the Prapanjam the vibration that takes place in you shall become atoms that cleanse the Prapanjam. Use it as a force field or shield and engaged in cleansing the Prapanjam. When it's cleansed the world will be completely rid of the virus."

Shiva gets us to go back to rituals and prayers after a gap of a year and a half of abstaining from it as directed by Agathiyar. During that time we were asked to go within abstaining from all forms of worship and charitable activities. But as they told us when the need arises we could engage in rituals, we have been summoned to bring back the ritual of lighting the Homam in these times of Covid-19.

While the scientist and medical teams combat the virus as frontliners, and the uniform forces maintain law and order let us do our part in combating the pandemic by adopting good hygiene, abiding with the law, praying to the divine to have mercy, and taking the cue from Shiva and engaging with the Prapanjam, fortifying ourselves and sending back the unified force to rid the Prapanjam off the virus.

CONVERSATIONS WITH THE DIVINE

Science and religion agree on one thing now. They have come to meet eye to eye. Both agree that there is a need for cleanliness.

WHO says "The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow). Stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning your hands, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately into a closed bin and wash your hands." Most importantly dispose of the masks properly. "Clean your hands before you put your mask on, as well as before and after you take it off, and after you touch it at any time. Make sure it covers both your nose, mouth, and chin. When you take off a mask, store it in a clean plastic bag, and every day either wash it if it’s a fabric mask or dispose of a medical mask in a trash bin."

"Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands with soap and water or using an alcohol-based rub frequently. This eliminates germs including viruses that may be on your hands.  Do not touch your face. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose, or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and infect you."

"Outbreaks have been reported in restaurants, choir practices, fitness classes, nightclubs, offices, and places of worship where people have gathered, often in crowded indoor settings where they talk loudly, shout, breathe heavily or sing. The risks of getting COVID-19 are higher in crowded and inadequately ventilated spaces where infected people spend long periods of time together in close proximity."

"Outdoor gatherings are safer than indoor ones, particularly if indoor spaces are small and without outdoor air coming in." So if you need to attend a gathering choose carefully. In the event, you cannot "Avoid crowded or indoor settings, then take precautions. Open a window. Increase the amount of ‘natural ventilation’ when indoors."

"By following good ‘respiratory hygiene’, you protect the people around you from viruses, which cause colds, flu, and COVID-19."

When man has forgotten the basics, he needs to be reminded sometimes in harsh ways. Society in the days of the past merged such values into their daily lives and in their religious ways. I suppose they knew that man would postpone the work, they had a day allocated to cleaning up and tied it with religion and God. I guess that day was Bhogi.

On Bhogi, people discard old and derelict things and concentrate on new things causing change or transformation. At dawn, people light bonfires with logs of wood, other solid fuels, and wooden furniture at home that are no longer useful. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhogi)

When man has forgotten the basics, that he needs to be clean, it needs Agathiyar to come to say it. He told us to keep our homes and environment clean to avoid falling sick frequently. Since then we have been continuously sprucing up our homes and keeping them tidy and clean. For one we have stopped hoarding things for later use.

Then there is the working place that contributes to ill health too. I used to fall sick frequently in the days of me working in an office that was a 20 story building completed in 1984. I was there between the years 1994 and 2016. Finally, my architect told me the reason I fell sick often, that we were working in a sick building. How very true. This is verified by S. Müjdem Vural in his book "Sick Building Syndrome from an Architectural Perspective" where an abstract is shared at https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-642-17919-8_20

If there are symptoms when user is in specific building and if the symptoms are vanished when user departs from specific building, those specific buildings are called sick buildings. The symptoms are irritation of the eyes, nose, throat, and skin, headaches, cough, wheezing, nausea and dizziness, etc.

When I retired in 2016 after working in this building since 1994, I never fell sick.

The surrounding too seems to influence our health. Earlier when I was on the project site for some five years, I did fall sick too. How is it that I fell sick when I was always outdoors? A  doctor who saw me walk into his clinic once too often asked me if there were oil palm trees in the vicinity. Indeed the project was built upon a clearing in an estate and there were trees still remaining. He explained that if rubber trees in a rubber plantation emitted cool air these palm trees emit hot air. He told me that the frequency of falling sick is more when you have oil palm trees around. My father-in-law who was in the plantation sector working as a field conducter can vouch for this difference in the heat for he had seen the transition from rubber to oil palm. My brother who is a medical officer in the plantations too tends to agree. When I moved into my housing estate after construction was completed in 1994, there was the mist that brushed our faces in the mornings and evenings. They are gone now. While these are laymen's views and opinions, it was reported that an administrative center that was built on a clearing of a former oil palm plantation and sits amongst existing plantations is found to register a 5-degree increase in temperature compared with other areas. Indeed the world is getting hotter. The climate and the weather have changed drastically over the years.

Now our sight is diverted to the Prapanjam. With Lord Shiva asking us to cleanse the Prapanjam that we are all part of, and by doing it wipe out the virus for good, exactly what is this Prapanjam and how do we go about cleansing it? I don't think we can find an equivalent English word for Prapanjam. All existing words would only limit its expanse. Hence let us denote and go by the name given by Agathiyar and Lord Shiva.

The first time the Prapanjam was mentioned to us was after Ramalinga Adigal come into our midst to bless us. We only knew later on 21.2.2020 from Agathiyar that Ramalinga Adigal had helped us bring within us the energy that is dominant in the Prapanjam.

வள்ளல் பிரபஞ்சத்திடமிருந்து சக்தியைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ள  உதவினார்.

The day Lord Shiva came on 29.6.2020, he told us to give thanks to Agathiyar telling us that he was only there because Agathiyar was present.

இவனுக்கு (அகத்தியர்) நன்றி சொல்லுங்கள். இவன் இங்கு வரவில்லை என்றால் நாங்கள் வந்து போகமாட்டோம்

Shiva told us that among the many forms and names he was the Prapanjam too. He says that his energy is in us too. It makes sense now that he is asking us to enhance as shown by Ramalinga Adigal the inherent energy of his in all of us to battle the pandemic. It looks like Shiva won't take up arms to battle the enemy as we have read in the Puranas and epics but that we have to do it though he shall help us subtly.

Switching tones he then takes all those gathered to task for remaining in the clutches of Maya or illusion. He asked us to put more effort into our practices. He asked that we do it in front of the guru (Agathiyar).

நீங்கள் இன்னும் மாயையில் உளீர்கள். முயற்சி இன்னும் செய்துவாருங்கள். பயிற்சியை உன் குரு முன் செய்துவா.

On 4.7.2020 Agathiyar gives us another reminder to practice and says it is not a request anymore but a directive and command. He meant business.

பயிற்சி செய்து வாருங்கள். இது என் கட்டளை

On 20.7.20 Agathiyar again reveals that Ramalinga Adigal brought the Prapanjam within us.

வள்ளல் பிரபஞ்சத்தைத் தருவித்தார்.

On 30.11.2020 Agathiyar reinforces in us that he is Prapanjam.

நானே பிரபஞ்சம்

He had been telling us that he was Prapanjam and that the Prapanjam was in him several times. Although he is Prapanjam and he can resolve all our worries, moving the chess pieces and realigning the course of events taking place and yet to take place, they want us, mankind to actively engage in bringing the desired positive changes as we are part of the Prapanjam too. He wants us to know our true nature and potential and not to forever depend on all things external. Rather than adorn a gauntlet as did Thanos in the Avenger series to wipe out half the population, in our case to heal the planet, they ask us to build the Prapanjam within to an extent where it keeps all diseases at bay. It is said that the villagers would be aware of the arrival of the Buddha even before his coming as his energy or aura was far-reaching.

When Ramalinga Adigal came down on 10.12.2020 with full energy and laughter and became chanting the Arutperunjothi mantra, prompting us to do the same, he was totally and fully immersed in bliss throughout his stay where he could hardly hold his ground. He was elevating. He was constantly telling us to bring the Prapanjam within and that it would listen to us and accompany us.

பிரபஞ்சத்தை உள்ளுக்குள் செலுத்துங்கள். பிரபஞ்சம் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டுப் படும். துணை வரும்.

That is when Agathiyar told us to pray to Lord Shiva that the lockdown shall be lifted and we could come together to celebrate his Jayanthi on Thaipusam. He said that he too would place a similar prayer to Shiva.

But the pandemic did not budge. Hence we could only celebrate in our individual homes.

Bhogar came on 11.3.2021 and invoked Lord Shiva to come before us.

சிவனே...உன் மக்களுக்காக வா...கதவைத் திற.

He asked us to ask Lord Shiva any boon. We were tight-lipped until I told him we were pretty satisfied as he had given all that we needed. Similarly, I was in a dilemma as to what to ask for when Agathiyar came several months earlier and turned to each of us asking what we wanted. I had nothing to ask for but he waited patiently for my reply. My brain was working in overdrive. I finally asked that I be born again and again and be given the privilege to serve him as I do now. He asked me back if that was what I wanted prompting me to pause and realize that it was not what was to be sought after. Later as I and Mahin discussed his visit over a telephone conversation, I told Mahin that maybe we ought to ask him Jnanam not knowing what it was in the very first place. Tavayogi always lamented that people always either asked for riches and position or for their troubles and sufferings to go away, never at any instance did they ask for Jnanam. Agathiyar eavesdropped on our telephone conversation for the next time he came, on 30.1.2020, he told me that I had asked for Jnanam. He went on to elaborate about it. I thought that that was "the" thing to ask. But it was not to be so too. He came again on 16.3.2021 and told us that the yearning to join them and their company was the ultimate thing to ask for.

இவன் சரியாகக் கேட்டான். திருகுட்டத்தில் சேர வேண்டும் என்று.

On 28.3.21 Agathiyar asked how many of us were doing the asana and pranayama practices as initiated and shown by Tavayogi that was passed on to Mahin which then reached out to others too.

பயிற்சியினை எத்தனை பேர் செய்கின்றிற்கள்?

On 28.3.21 Agathiyar comforted my daughter and asked her to go ahead and have the procedure for her eye problem that was detected by the eye specialist during an eye checkup.

சிகிச்சை என்றால் பயம் வருவது சகஐம். அனைத்தையும் நான் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டேன். சென்று வாருங்கள்.

Agathiyar followed the progress of my daughter's eyesight asking her with concern on 26.4.2021, "உனது கண் சரியாகிக் கொண்டு வருகிறதா?" and reassuring her that it shall be fine, "சரியாகி விடும்".

He was indeed a caring father comforting her from the very beginning.

On 3.4.2021 as my daughter was leaving for the eye hospital to be admitted in the ward, Agathiyar sent her off with some words of courage.

உன் வலியை நான் சுமப்பேன். தயிரியமாகச் சென்று வா.

I too had gone for an eye operation shortly after my daughter did. On 26.4.2021 Agathiyar assured me that he was the one who arranged for my eye operation.

உன் விழிகளுக்குச் சிகிச்சை அளித்தது நான் தான்.

When I told him I do not know how to repay his kindness, என்ன கைமாறு செய்வேன் அப்பா? he tells me that there is no need for that, "ஒன்றும் வேண்டாம்."

When I report back to him that I have failed miserably in the area of meditation, "மனம் ஒடுங்க வில்லை", he tells me "நீ முயற்சிக்கின்ராய்", appreciating my effort.

On 6.5.2021, Agathiyar spoke again on the Prapanjam making us understand that the doctor's role ends with each successful procedure done on their patient. Then Prapanjam takes over and begins healing the patients from within and without. He reassured my daughter that he shall stand by her and heal her together with the Prapanjam. "பிரபஞ்சம் உனக்கு உதவி புரியும். நானும் துணை இருப்பேன்." He shows my daughter the way to tap into the Prapanjam and bring it within to heal her eyesight. Again he reiterates that it was he who sent us for the procedures. உங்கள் இருவரையும் நான் தான் அங்கு அனுப்பி மேலும் சிகிச்சை அளித்தேன்.

And in the most recent address by Lord Shiva himself yesterday giving us the means to fight the pandemic and wipe it off the face of the earth, we saw the compassion and care of the divine. Our prayers have reached him.

He says, Man now needs to join forces with the Prapanjam and use it as a force field or shield and engaged in cleansing it. When it's cleansed the world will be completely rid of the virus. "When engaged with the Prapanjam the vibration that takes place in you shall become atoms that cleanse the Prapanjam. The virus will be around till that day (till that is achieved fully). I, Shiva will join you in prayers to heal the Prapanjam. Whenever and wherever possible continue with this Homam weekly. Those who can do join in. (In lieu of the lockdown). Those engaged in this prayer will be safe. I have accepted your Puja. Share this with Shanmugam. Let it be known to all through his writings."

I understand that we are now called to connect with the Prapanjam. Once connected and as we tap into its energy and bring it within, the vibration that results in us generates atoms that shall then cleanse and rid it of the virus. We are to become channels and tap into the Prapanjam and pass it on to our surroundings. Before we can become transmitters of the Prapanjam we need to cleanse ourselves and our homes first. Before we can heal the Prapanjam we need to heal ourselves first. We need to prepare the vehicle for the transmission to take place. Hence the reason for Agathiyar to have us consume Agathiyar Kuzhambu and other purgatives that purge the body of the toxins and heal it. We see the need to conduct the Homam that connects us to the Prapanjam and energizes us through the external heat of the fire and heals us by inhalation of the herbs offered into the fire. At the same time we bring the offerings we place into the fire pit to reach far and beyond our surroundings, healing it too. We see the need for them to push us to do Yoga Asanas and Pranayama that besides healing body and mind, expands the lungs capacity to absorb more air and with it the life force Prana that can then be transmitted and shared with others. When this body that is the fortress is healed and fortified only then can we serve as channels to distribute the Prapanjam that has come within and in turn begin to energize others and our immediate surroundings, eventually healing the Prapanjam. By reaching out to the Prapanjam and bringing the body to the desired vibrational state and dispersing the charged atoms that build within us into our surroundings we bring about the healing of the Prapanjam. It is quite clear that God would not use his magic wand and make the virus disappear overnight. Neither will he sweep the virus away. The Siddhas are not going to perform any miracle to bring everything back to normal. They want our active participation in reaching out to the Prapanjam for help. But the Prapanjam too shall not heal on its own but wants man to align with it and combat together the mutual enemy. Most importantly as Agathiyar asked us to follow the rules, they want us to adhere strictly to the SOP's given.

We can see the amount of concern, compassion, and love that Agathiyar and Lord Shiva shower on us. Thus I was deeply disturbed by a recent Nadi reading that was in social media and blogs purportedly delivered by Agathiyar. A friend brought it to my attention asking if I had read it. It carried "curses" and warnings. There was so much anger in it. Reading through I could not stomach it. I could not believe it was our most compassionate father speaking. Reading the contents and the tone of it, I had my doubts. I saw through many flaws in the message. I could not believe it for many more reasons too. Agathiyar who reprimanded me for my anger and dictated to me on anger management cannot possibly have let his guard down. He has always told us not to confront others nor engage in debate. As for those who deviate he reminds us that time and karma shall be witness to it. Most of the time he tells us "Let it be." This is the Agathiyar we know unless he has another face, another side to him. If it was truly him I beg his forgiveness but it cannot be our father I told myself.

I believe we have brought back faith in the Nadi that is the vehicle of communication of the Siddhas, that was tarnished by certain quarters. We have come a long way in bringing the Siddha path to the simpleton and common folks through practical and down-to-earth ways removing the mystical jargon and complexity in it. Rituals were simplified for the common man like you and me and its duration shortened in this world where everything is in a rush. Like one devotee wrote to me, "Indeed I liked the progressive ride instead of sticking to certain practices. What irai looks for is love and yearning to know HIM (knowledge). Appa has cultivated that....." we have seen ourselves transported from Sariyai, Kriyai, Yogam and eventually Jnanam. Agathiyar was with us all the while and all the way as he told us that in Sariyai we served him; In Kriyai he took us in as his children; In Yogam he became our friend, and in Jnanam, we shall each merge.

We sought him out to serve him as a servant in Sariyai. He took us under his wings in Kriyai and taught us his way, becoming our guru. In Yogam he came as a friend and parted his knowledge further. In Jnanam we shall then merge.

I am not a spokesman for the Siddhas. All that I have shared in this blog is my joy in following the Siddhas. For those who seek to know what they can gain from the worship to the Siddhas as someone asked me the very first day we met, I believe this blog shall reveal the answer. This blog is about real-life happenings and real people. It is solely a sharing of my experiences coming to the path and that of those I know personally or from verified sources. We have avoided discussing the mystical, myths and legends, and the highly philosophical aspects of the Siddha path. I am blessed to be assigned the task that of writing this blog. Dr. Krishnan had looked into my horoscope in the nineties and told me that I shall be writing later in life. True to his words, after returning from my maiden pilgrimage to India I began to write about it. These were the days prior to the arrival of blogs. With its arrival, I too switched over from my indianheartbeat website that focussed on culture and arts to this Siddha Heartbeat blog for ease of uploading media. With the arrival of my gurus, I wrote much about them, their teachings, programs, and activities. With the arrival of many youngsters and with us engaging in puja and charity, I wrote about these events too. As the Siddhas guided us through the Nadi, from those written ages ago to those written in real-time, I carried these revelations too. Today they want us to share their messages that are relayed directly. I am only an obedient servant of theirs and abide by their wishes.

When Tavayogi upon arrival in Malaysia and upon initiating me asked that I speak of the Siddhas, I backed off. I was still green, fresh, and learning. I knew nothing about them. But the Siddhas never gave up encouraging me to speak and write about the path.

On 18.5.2008 Patanjali asks that I spread the fame of the Siddhas.

சித்தர் புகழ் பரப்புவாயே

Agathiyar had mentioned the same in the Nadi readings I had in 2009, 2010, and 2015.

When I decided to stop writing several times its either the readers, Tavayogi or Agathiyar who stop me from doing so. For instance, on 30.1.2020, he told me that some still need this sharing.

நீ பகர்வது இன்னும் சிலருக்குத் தேவைப் படுகிறது.

Agathiyar mentioned the blog in December of 2020 saying that he shall speak our language and asked to read it as it's his opinion too.

இனி இவன்மூலம் உங்கள் மொழியில் பேசுவேன். இவன் எழுத்துக்களைப் படியுங்கள். அவை என் கருத்து.

On 19.11.2020, he says that I shall share my experiences.

இவன் அனுபவத்தைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வான்.

When Lord Shiva at the end of his address yesterday asked that the message for the day be shared with me so that it shall be made known to all through this blog, ஷண்முகனிடம் இவற்றைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். எழுத்து வடிவில் உலக மக்களுக்குக் கொண்டு சேர்க்கட்டும், it was indeed the greatest honor that a follower of his could be rewarded with.
