Thiru Sundararajoo Arumugam became a staunch devotee of Sri Raghavendra after watching the movie about the saint directed by S. P. Muthuraman in 1985. He was soon destined to build a temple hall for the saint. After several visits to the saint's abode Mantralayam, when he was 62 he read his Nadi. Agathiyar asked him for a spot in the temple he was to build for the saint. The temple cum meditation hall now stands at Lot 190051, Laluan Sg.Pari 4, Teluk Kurin 'B' (Kg.Kacang Puteh), Buntong 30100 Ipoh Perak.
Prior to this mission Thiru Arumugam had been giving facelifts and upgrading existing small temples in places where he had served while in service with the Public Works Department. These included one in Simpang Empat, Bagan Serai and another in Menglembu, Ipoh. Today the Sri Raghavendra temple is a fine monument of a devotee's gratitude to his guru. He serves the guru hoping that his guru would show another to replace him as a caretaker.
He is also the father of Malaysian singer Gowri Arumugam who produced an album on Agathiyar titled "Agathiyar Geetham" in 2018 among many other hits.
