THE NETWORK OF GURUS

When I was taking a morning walk with Tavayogi the day after my arrival at his Kallar ashram, he told me Agathiyar came the night before and enquired what he was going to give me. I was both amazed and skeptical, "really! how could Agathiyar come!" and "Really? how could he come? After Agathiyar showed his miracles or Siddhi games both in India and Malaysia, I had begun to believe and adopted myself to watching his play. Even to this day, each time he does a miracle he never fails to amaze me.

Even before I came to Agathiyar to read the Nadi, Agathiyar had used his well-connected network to send a message and an initiation mantra to a guru who had gone into samadhi. The guru Gopal Pillai, came through his disciple and asks my nephew who was a follower of the guru's teachings to deliver the said mantra to me, acting as a conduit for Agathiyar. But I only came to know that the mantra and message were from Agathiyar after a couple of years because I was told not to question the source of the initiation then. I was amazed to find out that Agathiyar had come to me very much earlier prior to my very first Nadi reading, but chose to hide himself from me.

The bond between a guru and his disciple transcends even time and space and births as I saw for myself. When a devotee came for a Nadi reading with Tavayogi, she was told that her guru of a past life was very concerned and sad at seeing the state of affairs of his disciple (the girl) and had asked Agathiyar to convey a message to her.

When I did prayers to Lord Ganapathy a day later after his Chaturthi festival, having read the astrological almanac or panjangam wrongly, Agathiyar in a subsequent Nadi reading passed a message from Lord Ganapathy himself whom he addressed as Ganapathy Dasar, mentioning that he had accepted my puja for Agathiyar on his day of Chaturthi, seeing him as Ganapathy. In fact, that is the truth he added. This message was read on 17.10. 2010. In 2016 when the AVM family and I visited India, I was surprised to find a granite statue of Lord Ganapathy in a shrine that was a popular destination of Agathiyar devotees and said to be that of Agathiyar. The statue placed at this Agathiyar shrine at the Sri Agathiyar Kumbamunivar Sannadhi in Kumbakonam is that of Lord Ganapathy.

AVM Agathiyar adorns the entrance in a recent upgrade as opposed to the earlier below

Photos taken at the recent Agathiyar Jayanthi celebrations are courtesy of Suren and Shankar Aiya. Suren pointed out that the digital photo composition of AVM Agathiyar by Sivakavin of Chennai adorns the entrance of this temple. We are proud to be part of this temple.

It is no coincidence we realize since this is the temple where Agathiyar (who had instructed that a bronze statue be made in the replica of his granite statue at Agasthiyampalli) strictly stipulated that his statue be brought over, upon completion and puja done, before leaving for AVM Malaysia.

Agathiyar who taught me the technique of Nadi Suddhi or breathing technique to cleanse the body and mind and clear the nerves, through a Nadi reading, on 14.12.2002, later gave me other techniques to help bring concentration and go into meditation. Recently besides asking me to put into practice the techniques Tavayogi taught that were put on hold due to my back pain, Agathiyar mentioned that Ramalinga Adigal shall guide us further with certain Yogic practices. True to what he said, Adigal came to deliver the technique of Nadi Suddhi again together with other techniques that were similar to what Tavayogi had given us.

When I was with Supramania Swami sitting with him at his prayer room chanting his guru Yogi Ramsuratkumar's name, the Yogi joins us from his samadhi. When my wife and I ended our puja, we were surprised to receive a miss call from Supramania Swami's phone, a number that had been terminated after he went into samadhi. Earlier Agathiyar had in the Nadi acknowledged that it was true that Supramania Swami had gone into samadhi and laid to rest in the right place along the Girivalam path. Thinking that the gurus and deities could not respond in English, a cheeky devotee had the surprise of her life when the Yogi came and addressed us in English during prayer.

When Dhanvantri came, he told us that no matter what others say Tavayogi had attained samadhi and shall guide us in the form of light. Since then Tavayogi comes to speak, teach, listen and advise us.

It is truly amazing to see the expanse of their networking and how they communicate and use other gurus to deliver timely messages. The gurus are all working together to uplift the plight of mankind. Sadly man differentiates them placing one more superior to the others or defaming the other to protect his choice.

YOGAM & JNANAM

Armed with the tools gifted by our gurus we traveled the path of Sariyai and Kriyai the last 18 years. Taking notes of the precious guidance they gave that came in handy we walked the long path, slowly step by step, with the aid of the tools and the guidance as the torch. Often lacking in confidence and determination, when standing at the brink of giving up, the saintly angels or Siddhas came to our rescue, saving the moment and encouraging us on. From Sariyai and Kriyai they have brought us to Yogam and Jnanam officially.

Both to fulfill and identify our standing, they gave labels to our spiritual standing. To inform others of the location of my home, I named it Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM), taking the name of the very first spot Tavayogi settled to build himself a shed after traveling the length and breadth of India roaming as a mendicant. Agathiyar endorsed it feeling comfortable with my selection of a name for his residence.

He began to send potential devotees whom he identified through their Nadi readings to AVM beginning 2011, to watch and learn the worship of the Siddhas. Others came after seeing my website Indian Heartbeat that is now defunct and reading this blog to enquire more about the Siddhas and their worship. Slowly the numbers increased and we began to engage aggressively in both rituals and charity. For the purpose of coordinating our programs and activities, we started a group Amudha Surabhi (AS).

After years of worship to Agathiyar and the Siddhas, what was always a brief darshan of his during the puja sessions became longer sessions of stay at AVM. He chose to continue his tavam in this venue. He turned the place into Gnanakottam. In 2018 Lord Muruga pleased with our efforts, honored us through a Nadi reading, by upgrading AVM to Agathiyar Tapovanam Malaysia (ATM) in view of an increase in terms of the number of devotees congregating and growth in its programs. He was talking about the need to move house, moving to a bigger facility to accommodate the changes to come. But having seen all that has taken place in many of the Ashrams, Peedhams, societies, and associations, my family and I were very reluctant to make the move. We felt comfortable in our small home that had accommodated as many as fifty people. We chose to remain silent and not initiate any thought or action towards it.

Since we did not respond to his desire, Lord Muruga sent Agathiyar to convince us, knowing pretty well that we follow everything said by Agathiyar. Agathiyar came in an individual in the midst of our celebration for him at a temple. When he pointed to me that the venue was small for whatever they had in mind, I remained silent. After a moment, he asks if I shall no do it. I maintained silence. Then he said that he shall do it. I thanked him and moved away. Minutes later when my wife stood in front of him, he brought up the subject to her and informed her of the grace period in which their desires would take shape and materialize. We left it to them to carry out as they please. When almost nearing the specified period asked for, and there was no concrete existence of a new venue, we were wondering if the deal was on or not. Agathiyar then calls me in for a reading and states that we need not move. As I was not sure if this was final or if the subject will emerge later in the future, as this episode of building a temple was mentioned since my very first Nadi reading in 2002, I was skeptical. Then he comes through another on another day and tells me that they had tested me if I had desired to fall for the offer. I guess I passed the test. And I guess it is back to Gnanakottam for us.

Having seen their presence in many ways in our homes and the places we went, we kept asking ourselves what did we do to deserve their grace. Tavayogi once passed a remark of joy, saying that Agathiyar had come to stay with us easily while he had to go in search of him taking the long walk throughout India. Similarly, Ramalinga Adigal told my 3-year-old granddaughter happily, that she had come to Agathiyar at such a tender age while he had to perform extreme tapas for 12 long years before he could reach Agathiyar's feet.

When Tavayogi who wanted to go into samadhi after traveling throughout India and staying in Sathuragiri finally for 8 years, was pointed to Agathiyar Vanam at the foothills of the Kallar hills for that purpose, suddenly his plans we derailed by Agathiyar asking him to preach the path of the Siddhas in Malaysia and India. That is how I came to meet him in Malaysia in 2005. Soon he engaged in pursuing his desire to build a temple cum ashram for Agathiyar. I asked him why he wanted to continue when he was always advocating that we should move from Bhakti and come into Jnana. He answered it was not for him but for the public.  When somebody has done much for us and we feel indebted to them, there is a saying that we can build a temple for them, meaning that they had attained the divine status of God. Similarly, these days seeing the amount of love, kindness, and care he showers on us, the amount of attention and guidance he provides, we are beginning to accept that we should build a temple for him.

Today we officially enter Yogam and Jnanam having successfully sailed through Sariyai and Kriyai. Gnanakottam will host Yoga lessons and sit in meditation under the guidance of Agathiyar, Ramalinga Adigal and Tavayogi through their selected choice of hosts.

Welcome to Gnanakottam.

THE GURU'S HANDY TOOLS

The guru comes when we are ready to receive him. Tavayogi does not dish out or market his wares to everyone. He believes in giving to only those who are willing to listen, accept and adopt. He told us that it would take some 12 years for them to evaluate the student first. If he is patient enough to hang around his guru and serve him, the guru might consider teaching him a thing or two. When Tavayogi went around harping on the same piece of script speaking about the marvels of the Siddhas and asking the general public to come to the path of the Siddhas, be it in his talks in Malaysia or in Kallar, I got quite bored of listening to the same talk. I then asked him why was he repeating the same introductory speech on the Siddhas and their path. Was there nothing for us who are keen to move on or advance. As was his practice he answered my question with another, "Are you doing what was told?" he asked referring to the audience and listeners. "I can only progress further if you had put to practice what was said earlier", he continued.

The guru comes to give us some handy tools in our moments of need. It can be a mantra, a koan, a technique, a practice, a medicine, or even something from his possession. It is up to us to use it or store it. The choice is ours. But bear in mind Agathiyar's reminder that "The task designated when done during the period specified shall show positive results." If it is delayed, postponed for another day, the planets might not be in favor, neither will the people tasks to help or aid you be around.

After offering my homage to the Siddhas and their Nadi from which I learned about my present, past and future, that came in the form of worship to them which included recitation of these names, it sort of kick-started me to walk their path. I adopted the practice once back at home. That was my very first tool too. Coming to the Siddha path, almost everyone took up the recitation of the Siddha names as a tool to start the journey with.

When Agathiyar asked me to come to the worship of the Siddhas, he made sure that I shall receive the necessary guidance along the way. Besides speaking through the regular Nadi readings, he sent me three gurus or mummurthy or trimurthy in the physical form to guide me. Then there were upagurus too thrown in. As my only source of information on the Siddhas were the publications by Thavathiru Rengaraja Desigar of Ongarakudil, I followed most of his writings and talks with eagerness. He brought us to follow his example of feeding the hungry. He calls on all of us to perform Virunthubasarippu, which is what the Nayanmars before us did too. He asks of us to usher our visitors into our homes and serve them with our hospitality. Following in the footsteps of Ramalinga Adigal, he himself began a movement to feed the poor in and around Ongarakudil, where the idea has caught like wildfire and spread across the globe. He is held in high regard by the Siddhas for his relentless contribution towards educating society on the importance of feeding the unfortunate. He also happens to be the pioneer saint to introduce Siddha worship and annadhanam in Malaysia. He taught us the simple and practical way to gain the grace of Erai through the worship of the Siddhas. I too learned from his numerous talks and books available. Reading them made me want to meet him. I made my way to his Ongarakudil in Turaiyur on my maiden journey to India in 2003. I had the privilege to meet him in person, one to one then.

Coming to Supramania Swami he initiated me on a Siva mantra.  He started me on Nama Japam or chanting of the guru's name continuously. Coming to Tavayogi he gave me an initiation mantra of Agathiyar to be chanted. Similarly, he gave me several other mantras each time we got to see each other either in Malaysia or in India.

Both Rengarajar and Tavayogi asked that we worship the Siddhas and showed the way. They ask us to recite and call out the names of the Siddhas that would help remove suffering, quoting the line போற்றினால் உனது வினை அகலுமப்பா போற்றினால் பூரணமும் கூடப் பேசும் (Potrinaal Unathu Vinai Agalum Appa) from a Siddha song. I too took up their advice and made it part and parcel of my life. To find a balance, the gurus advocated that we do charity that goes a long way in offsetting our past karmas. Hence they armed us with two oars Tavam and Thanam, or austerity and charity to ride the rough sea of karma. Both these tools help burn the past and instills a brighter future. These were further tools given to work with on ourselves. These were all tools to aid in our journey, given only when the guru feels we are ready for the next step, provided of course we have been carrying out the previous instructions since the mantra only works if we put in the effort to recite or chant. Agathiyar on his part started me on idol worship, having a replica of his image at Agasthiyampalli, commissioned and made in Swamimalai and flown over. Tavayogi started me on conducting the ritual of fire sacrifice or Homam in my home too. It was an ideal package of chores, tasks, and duties given, a complete starter kit to start our journey.

Just as there are the mummurthi or trinity in most circles, Thavathiru Rengaraja Desigar, Supramania Swami and Tavayogi were my mummurthi in Siddha worship. I am blessed to have met all three gurus. They showed me the way and means and stepped aside for me to travel my journey, to experience all that life had in store for me. I dread to think if I had been lead elsewhere or stumbled on something else and got caught in its web of false belief, codes, and doctrines for life. Here I was free to do as please. I was free to investigate and experiment. I was not shackled with dogmas and restrictions. I was free to venture and learn. My gurus never pampered us but instead only insisted we perform the tasks given. They did not make us into their clones. We each had an identity although we took to the same path. Deep within me, I knew that the Siddhas and my gurus had a big part in every instance of my life. They never claimed credit for it though. The beautiful thing about all these gurus is that they never claimed ownership over me. Neither did I hang on to them like a parasite. I took only their teachings and journeyed along knowing pretty well that they were always with me.

These gurus showed us the simplest way to gain the grace or arul of the entire pantheon of Gods and Goddesses just by showing devotion and love to Erai. A simple recitation of the names of the Siddhas could open a portal to the other world. Agathiyar brought all the Gods and Goddesses, the Siddhas, rishis, munis, devas and the whole kingdom of Erai down each time at prayer. Today even if Supramania Swami and Tavayogi are not in the physical form, I know that they are with us in spirit. Both these gurus have visited my home in subtle ways. The Siddhas have attested to their presence.

Taking bhakti or devotion to the Guru and the Siddhas as a means to reach the ideal and equipped with the right tools at the right moment we saw instant results in all our ventures and endeavors. Singing the praise of the Siddhas came easy to us. We sang our way into the hearts of our gurus. Today walking the path and gaining valuable experiences and watching the many miracles or Siddhis performed by the Siddhas, we realize the many truths in these songs, what were mere words on paper back then. These songs are potent and have magical powers to transform matter and vice versa and have them materialized. We are beginning to realize that the lines and verses from the songs of praise that we gathered, compiled and recited during our course of puja, was given life and served to deliver its very essence or its intention. For instance, I had picked up Thavathiru Rengaraja Desigar's prayer as mine and asked for a guru to take me along on this journey,

which later brought me to Tavayogi and had him volunteer to take me to all the sacred abodes of the Siddhas. When Tavayogi took me to Agathiyar’s abodes, he would point out to me that the Siddhas were ushering us, following us and showering us with flower petals. I would look back at him with bewildered eyes, yet choosing to believe and move on. Today we realize the truth in his words since experience has taught us much. The line "வந்தித்தேன் உந்தன் பாதம் வானமுந் திறந்தாய் போற்றி", from a song in praise of Agathiyar,

clearly extols the greatness of the worship and praises to the Siddhas, something we have come to realize for ourselves too. Today Agathiyar has opened the gates to heaven and the saintly ones are coming in droves.

Having taken and adopted the numerous songs of saints and Siddhas as our prayer and having seen its results, we came to write lyrics for "Agathiyar Geetham" an audio compilation in honor of Agathiyar, an idea mooted by Tavayogi and Gowri Arumugam. We took inspiration for the lyrics from the many scriptures, upadesam from our gurus and our experiences walking the path shown. The song Ariya Payanam beautifully translates our journey into words.

This song describes the four stages we need to travel to arrive at our destination. We had been guided well by some great masters and their lineage. We had had the grace of the divine throughout our journey. We have our ancestors watch in joy seeing our achievements. As Agathiyar slowly weans us out of Sariyai and Kriyai and brings us to Yogam and Jnana, together with Ramalinga Adigal and Tavayogi, they are working to ensure we adhere to and follow the Yogic practices prescribed. They are slowly enlightening us step by step on the mystical knowledge and experience that one gains as he goes within. All the simple instructions they gave us since the start of this journey some 18 years ago is making sense today. We see the reason behind them.

We have been promoted to a higher institution of learning, beginning with Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM) that evolved to Agathiyar Tapovanam Malaysia (ATM) and today we move into Gnanakottam with delight and joy. These names were conferred on us in appreciation by Agathiyar and Lord Muruga. Let us begin a new journey, a journey of total mystery, one that is taken not with a following, but individually. If in Sariyai and Kriyai one can stand as a bystander and still take in its benefits, or appoint proxies to carry them out, in Yogam and Jnanam we need to bend our back and sweat it out and decipher the mystery respectively. Nobody can feed you or help you on this. The ride gets tough now. If we had been sightseeing and behaved like a tourist, now we need to live the life of a Siddha.

We have come a long way. The Siddhas have toiled and worked hard on us, molding us into who we are today. Let us not disappoint them. Let us continue to take heed of their precious advice. Let us show our greatest gratitude by listening and following them. If Agathiyar Vanam brought together seekers in joint prayer, and Amudha Surabhi brought them to do service to mankind, Gnanakottam is open to those who would like to begin to work the body back into its natural state and enter the deepest cavities of the mind, through Yoga and meditation respectively. Before we knew it, we were already aboard the boat and heading towards the light. The mystical world and realm of the Siddhas await us. We are in no hurry to reach the destination. We are in safe hands. Pranam to our gurus for teaching us, taking care of us, and feeding us. May the Siddhas guide us to the Light.

MIRACLES & MORE MIRACLES

In my very first post that I wrote on Sunday, 28 July 2013, I wrote,

SIDDHA HEARTBEAT - An Avenue that Showcases the Workings of the Siddhas. Here we will showcase all about the ever evasive, mysterious and incomprehensible higher intelligence known as Siddhas in the hope that along the way we get to comprehend their workings too. Let me start this blog by posting several photographs taken of the miracles performed by the Siddhas. Come join me and step into the mysterious and mystical world of the Siddhas.

Believe me, the magic hasn't stopped. It has been a fantastic journey and adventure, and it still remains a mystery, mystical and incomprehensible.

I had carried the following caption, "These blog postings are those of beginners who have taken the first step exploring the mysterious and mystical world of Siddhas. It is purely about devotion (Bakthi) and miracles. For those who think or feel that they have advanced spiritually and passed these initial, preliminary and primary stages, please reserve your comment", just right above the comment box where they would not miss it, as a word of caution to deter the enthusiastic readers who prefer to comment or make their opinion known, debate or argue, sometimes writing a whole piece in other's blogs and social media postings, after having received such comments. I would prefer they start their own blog or page and express their opinions.

As if to fulfill the objective of this blog as I had advertised that is sharing the experiences of beginners like me, who have taken the first step exploring the mysterious and mystical world of Siddhas and that it is purely about devotion (Bakthi) and miracles, Agathiyar keeps on rolling out miracles upon miracles right from day one till the present day.

He told me to come to India in my Nadi reading and that he would show me miracles once I was there. He did as he said. He told me that the miracles would continue once I was back home. It did and is happening till this day. I suppose if you are willing to believe then he shows them. Could you imagine that the divine changed a skulk of foxes into horses just for his devotee saint Manickavasagar back then? Or that Mother Goddess switches the tithi of the day from no moon or Amavasai to that of a full moon or Pornami for her devotee Abhirami Pattar.

When Supramania Swami passed away Agathiyar told me it was true that my guru had gone into samadhi and was laid to rest in the right place - on the path of Girivalam in Tiruvannamalai. Agathiyar many years back told me Tavayogi was a true guru for me. He also mentioned that I went looking for Supramania Swami while he sent Tavayogi to me. I had gone to see Supramania Swami to have my daughter's horoscope drawn out without me knowing that he was to be my guru. Neither did I know that Tavayogi would initiate me the same day we met and take me in as a disciple on the path of the Siddhas.

Ramalinga Adigal sings a phrase in his "Tirukkatavan Tiratal",

மெய்யுடையாய் என்னோடு நீ விளையாட விழைந்தேன்
விலையாடென்பது ஞானம் விளையும் விளையாட்டே

How true. Today I understand that it was all the will of the divine. It was all the divine's play. It was their Lila. It was all their game of Siddhi or Siddhu Vilaiyattu. Ma, Aiya and Agathiyar keep telling us that we are here to live out our desires and live through the experiences gained in placing the efforts in fulfilling them. They forewarn us that if we do not learn a lesson from these experiences we shall need to come back and go through it till we gain realization - attain self-realization. Agathiyar does not label a thing as good or bad. It is for us to ascertain from our actions if what we have done was good or bad. But the divine comes as avatar, gurus, beacons, and lighthouse to help mankind reason and figure out if an act was justified, good or bad. The essence of the Gita is rendered in this song where Lord Krishna assures Arjuna that it is all his doing and at the same time consoles Karnan that he absorbs the good, bad and the ugly.

Agathiyar too told me in my Nadi reading that all was his doing and that I needed the experience, both the good and bad too. If all is his play, let us then step aside and watch with him. That is what Lord Murugan asks of me to do. Step aside and watch. Allow them to carry on their play. Later Agathiyar too told us that it was all their play or Siddhu. They were only using the venue and us as tools to teach prospective devotees a lesson or two. Initially, my family and I were against it. We ask that it should all stop. They listened. But as we matured and they made us understand their motives assuring that it was all their doing and that the damages and the compliments are theirs to bear and shoulder, we gave in reluctantly. Today Agathiyar tells me the reason its happening is that he wants me to learn a lesson from all that takes place.

Most of the time he does not restrict me from sharing these events. But in certain cases he would tell me that what takes place was to remain within the four walls. At times he cautions me not to share then but will tell me when it was appropriate. So he ropes me in as an accomplice in his games. When I watched closely without moving an eyelid trying to register all the ingredients he had asks for while he was pounding away and preparing a herbal paste, the traditional way, using a pestle and mortar, he turns to me and says, "Only I shall prepare this. You do not do it."

That is when I am reminded of what my 3-year-old granddaughter told me. I guess she was angered with me asking so many questions, for a change, that she tells me off, "Only I shall ask the questions here, you don't!" setting me back on another chain of memory for earlier Agathiyar had told all of us not to asks any questions! Agathiyar tells us that these children are here to teach us more lessons.

Basically, life is all about learning lessons. Each person determines for himself the right and wrong of things. As Lao Tzu says "Go with the flow", maybe by doing so we shall save ourselves much turmoil and sorrow, anger and stress, worry and disappointment. As Tavayogi always says, "Let it be my son. Agathiyar shall take care of it" when we shift the responsibility to him, I am sure the results will be much much prettier than what we have envisioned or expected. Agathiyar too has told me to leave it to him when things take a toll on me or anger me. He asks that I concern myself with the given tasks on hand.

I do not know how to show my gratitude to him. Thinking that if I was to garland him, the flowers is from him. If I was to serve the best delicacies to him, that too has its source from grains that is his too in the very first place. We have nothing to credit for ourselves. All is given by him. We are cheating ourselves by saying that we had garlanded him, we had served him food, etc when we know pretty well that it was all given by him. So what can we give back to him in gratitude? After pondering for a while I thought that maybe serving him would be the best way, for you can choose to turn away and walk away, leave it to someone else to do it. Then when I mention to him that I would want to come back again and again and serve him, he asks me if that is what I desire, sending me a strong signal that this is not what we are to ask for. Immediately he reminds me of Tavayogi for when I mentioned to him that I desired to see Agathiyar and Ramalinga Adigal, he immediately replied that it was possible but added on a similar question, "Is that what you want?"

Finally, when I talked over the phone with Mahin we agreed that maybe we should opt to ask what Tavayogi always laments about, that people ask for everything under the sky, that is perishable, but never stop to ask for Jnana, Agathiyar comes the next time and tells me that I had asked for Jnana! I am bewildered and astonished even after having seen him perform so many miracles. Once when my wife asks if I wanted to either complement a ritual with an item or leave it out, we could not decide then. This conversation was taking place as we were driving back from a small town some 164 kms away, coursing through the countryside where the phones were out of coverage, yet he had tapped into our conversation. Jnana Jhotiamma once remained silent on the other end for quite some time as we were chatting on Skype. After the long silence, she told me that Agathiyar was on the line cutting me off.

As I have learned to see miracles in all things I guess he shows me his magic hands, his wonders, and his play or lila. He tells us that there is more to come. While we wait for them to happen, here is a recap of the past miracles to while your time.

SOUL STIRRING SONGS 2

Coming to the path of the Siddhas, each guru or establishment advocated that we recite the names of the Siddhas, listed and compiled as the Siddhar Potri Thoguppu together with several other songs in praise of the Siddhas. We too began to recite and sing these songs during our daily home puja.

After getting us to perform his puja and sing the praise of the Siddhas, Agathiyar came to reveal to us the many benefits of performing these pujas through his Nadi reading.

Soon Agathiyar blessed me with an opportunity to sing the Siddhas praise with my family at the Kallar Ashram on our trip to India in 2013.

Apart from the family and friends conducting and participating in Agathiyar's puja we were blessed to have spiritual dignitaries grace our homes and join us in prayers. Tavayogi and Mataji during their short visit to Malaysia in 2016, accompanied Agathiyar in the form of the bronze statue at AVM to all the homes of his devotees who invited him into their homes and hosted a puja for him.

We were blessed to have Agathiyar grace the puja and address us through the Jeeva Nadi in the possession of Tavayogi.

We were truly grateful and felt blessed when Tavayogi invited us to sing together with him and Mataji the praises of Agathiyar and the Siddhas during Agathiyar's Jayanthi celebrations at Kallar ashram.

We were blessed to have Tavathiru Kumara Sivakattu Swamigal of the Sri Agathiyar Ashramam, Anuvavi, Coimbatore. grace our home too.

Gaining confidence in singing on our home ground and having being given exposure at Kallar ashram and several temples locally, we sang the praises of the Siddhas wherever we went, on our pilgrimage of temples in India and the caves and holy spots of the Siddhas too.

With the blessings of Agathiyar and Tavayogi we teamed up with Gowri Arumugam of Raagawave Production to produce an album for Agathiyar, "Agathiyar Geetham"

Soon we had Gowri Arumugam participate in our puja and present many soulful songs together with Jegan, Vinthamaray, Praba, Vimala, and others.

The encouraging participation of devotees coming forward to sing during puja, mooted us to have an event Nachathira Maalai.

Agathiyar had asked each of his devotees who drop by to pay homage to him at AVM to sing in his presence recently. Since then his devotees and children have begun to sing songs of praise to Erai and the Siddhas. He says it was a means of focusing on the tasks on hand and eventually gaining concentration. Even the rituals were an aid to bring us into focusing and concentrate. These were tools and aids for us to take the next step and move into meditation.

SOUL STIRRING SONGS 1

When Tavayogi and I were traveling to Bukit Rotan, I played Ramalinga Adigal's song on my car player. He listened intently, his hands clapping to the rhythm. After some time he mentioned that listening to Ramalinga Adigal's songs itself will bring one to the state of Jnana. Indeed that is true.

Listen to these wonderful devotional songs by Adigalar and other saints.

THE GUIDING LIGHT

He came in the form of words that were inscribed in the Nadi to reveal my present, past and future. He came into the granite statues of his, opening his eyes to watch us, at Agasthiyampalli and Papanasam and later in his bronze statue in my home. He has come to live in our hearts too.

He sent two wonderful gurus Supramania Swami of Tiruvannamalai, who showed how his bond between him and his guru Yogi Ramsuratkumar could work miracles; and Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal who showed me the path of the Siddhas by taking me to their abodes, where again I was shown how his bond between him and his guru Agathiyar could work miracles. Today Agathiyar himself comes, in the physical absence of both my gurus, to show us how devotion towards him works miracles.

When I met Tavayogi for the very first time in 2005 in Malaysia, surprisingly he mentioned that we should have met on my maiden trip to India in 2003. Today I understand that I had an obligation towards Supramania Swami that needed fulfillment, hence I was brought to see him on the pretext of having my daughter's horoscope drawn. Supramania Swami had a lifelong desire to build a temple that saw the light of the day with my arrival. But mysteriously it was shelved by the very divine forces that had initiated it.

Coming to Tavayogi I was inspired to carry out an annadhanam at his Ashram, my very first of many to come. Later when Supramania Swami passed away, together with Jnana Jhotiamma we carried out another annadhanam at Tiruvannamalai fulfilling his last wish. The thought of helping others that were inculcated in us lead to the formation of a loose grouping on Whatsapp, Amudha Surabhi that managed the contributions from devotees and set out to have programs in aid of the poor.

Coming to Tavayogi, he set me to carry out the ritual of lighting the sacrificial fire in my home, something that was only the purview of the priests in the temples. Later when he started the annual Sarva Dosa Nivarana Maha Yagam to appease mother nature and heal the illness and wounds of devotees, he instructed me to do the same in my home to coincide with the festivity at his Kallar Ashram. I did all that was told without failure. Agathiyar initiated a small group of devotees to come together at my private home after I was engaged in conducting puja for the Siddhas for some years. Many watched as spectators, while some engaged in preparing and conducting the prayers. These few took the rituals back into their homes and carried on with their family members, something that I had wished for. I never believed in having devotees congregate in large numbers once a week, usually on Thursdays being the day designated for worship to one's guru, and forget about him till the following week. I wanted them to engage in doing puja in their own homes and reap its benefits as extolled by Agathiyar in a Nadi Reading on 12.7.2010. Agathiyar talks about the prayers conducted and its benefits. Agathiyar reveals an extensive list of benefits attained from performing and conducting prayers. He reveals the reason he asks that I carry them out. Below is listed the benefits as Agathiyar revealed in the Nadi:

There are many in this world who utters my name (Agathiyar),
Prayers done truthfully (to Sidhas) shall gain many benefits,
Prayers shall bring much joy,
Prayers done moderately but splendidly and honestly, shall help protect the world,
Prayers done with fellow devotees will bring many benefits,
Many shall rise in stature and power,
Prayers will lead to a state of bliss,
Prayers done on full moon days shall strengthen the Jothi within,
Prayers will help remove doubts,
Through prayers, one shall attain godhead,
Strength, grace and wealth shall be gained,
Stay on this path of devotion and family bond shall be strengthened,
All that is asked for shall be gained,
Prayers shall lead to meditation and charitable thoughts,
All ills shall be removed,
God shall listen to prayers,
Idiots shall become geniuses,
The benefits attained from prayers are indescribable for many changes shall take place.

After many years of engaging in rituals, I felt that much had been accomplished in this area and that we had to move on. That is when, Agathiyar asked that we devote more time to Yogam and Jnanam now having fulfilled Sariyai and Kriyai to his utmost satisfaction in a timely manner. When the time came for me to go into solitude, he initiated the groups Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM) and its charity arm Amudha Surabhi (AS) be closed and have me leave the registered body Persatuan Teman Setia that was engaged in charity. Although I closed the door to my room, he insisted that I do not shut the doors to my home. He wants me to admit only those who are keen to learn yoga and meditation. He does not want us to revisit the rituals and have newcomers watch or participate. Neither does he want us to promote and engage in acts of charity to new seekers. There are other avenues for them he says.

Agathiyar has asked us to engage in going within, having engaged in rituals and successfully carried out acts of charity all these years. He has asked us to move on and not wait for others to catch up, for then our journey shall stall. This reminds me of how, during the adventure into the jungles and caves that Tavayogi took me to, I would run to keep up with my 76-year-old guru who would walk briskly and with so much energy, never for a moment turn back to see if I was catching up with him.

Of course, if the need arises we still do engage in lighting the homam as in several urgent matters. Taking the cue from Tavayogi who initiated the Maha Yagam following the wreath of mother nature in the form of the tsunami in 2004, we prayed lighting the homam that the current pandemic and outbreak of Covid-19, should not prolong for long, be sustained and irradicated, recently. Agathiyar had once told me in response to my reluctance to engage in any ritual, that the homam I did at home was not for personal gain but for the benefit, good and well being of the Prapanjam, endorsing the words of Tavayogi. I held a prayer and homam when Tavayogi was taken ill. Agathiyar tells us that the Siddhas too did a Yagam after hearing our prayer to save his soul. Tavayogi went back to his ashram, settled all that was needed of him, including passing the baton to Mataji Sarojini Ammaiyar and teaching her the art of reading the Jeeva Nadi in his possession.

We were well equipped with the tools to venture into Yoga thanks to Tavayogi. We were blessed to have Tavayogi teach us personally several asanas and pranayama techniques which Agathiyar says is a treasure chest. These days Agathiyar has asked us to revisit these techniques and teach them to others. Mahindren has been chosen for this task. If Agathiyar had initiated and taught me in the Nadi reading the technique of Nadi Suddhi and techniques to bring the focus on the Agnai, he comes through others to further finetune these techniques. Ramalinga Adigal too came to deliver these techniques and initiate us.

Coming under house arrest, unless there was an urgent need to leave home, I spend much of my time in the company of Agathiyar at my home, reminding me of Saint Nakkirar's plea and yearning, for a quiet moment and a space with the Guru. Nakkirar seeks the grace of Lord Ganapathy asking to create the avenue for this special moment, a moment of sitting in silence with the Guru, merging in thought with him. We are told that as one engages in these moments of meditation, even the thought of the guru as being separate drops, and he becomes identified with the Guru, one with the Guru. Just bringing this vision itself brings so much joy in us, imagine how it would be, in the actual presence of the Guru? Saint Nakkirar's prayer that became my prayer too has materialized.

Conferring the Silent Jnana,
Coming face to face with the final revelation of the source,
Giving birth to divine desires,
Hence the Guru and Student merge,
in a lone space, the Para Veli,
locked in blissful knowledge,
placed at the Holy Feet of Siva,
"Oh Maname, understand that you are ME, I am you,
the body is but just a fortress in a dream,"
Bring me to the realization that all is your doing,
Bring forth the yearning for your Grace in me,
Oh my Guru, Lord Vinayaga.

Agathiyar comes occasionally to look in on me and convey messages and further guidance through a devotee whom he took to perform his Siddhis. He tells us that his Siddhis or play shall go on for some time. He asks that I spread his teachings through all available means and mediums, including asking me to carry on blogging. At times he says not to reveal but to wait till he says.

These days he brings Ramalinga Adigal too with him. Agathiyar we came to understand loves to listen to us sing. Recently he commanded all of us to sing whenever in his presence. Besides the songs in praise of him, his favorite was always a song on Lord Narayana. Whenever he comes he would request for songs on Ramalinga Adigal too, whom he addresses as Vallal. We were wondering why? Then he answers telling us that Adigal is always following him wherever he goes. Yesterday we were surprised when Ramalinga Adigal composed and sang a song. We only managed to record a small portion of it as we were caught unawares.

Ramalinga Adigal has on a couple of instances asked that we continue to hold on to the Holy Feet of "Appan Agathiyan" as he addresses Agathiyar. Agathiyar shall set aside the veil that hides Arutperunjhoti from us, he promises. Since we came to Agathiyar and his path, he will be the guiding light, he says. He asks that we continue on his path. Agathiyar remains a guiding light to us, then, now and forever.

A JOURNAL OF MY JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY 1959 TO 2020 - PART 7

Just as we were told that there is a summit or peak that lies at the 7th Chakra or as P.Karthigayan identifies as the lamplight at the end of worship that is symbolically shown by Tavayogi as the Aaru Adhaara Peedham at his Kallar Ashram, that we have to arrive at, to realize why we are here, we have reached Part 7 of this journal entry.

Coming to research the path and gain some understanding was a frustrating affair, as not many could fill me on the mysteries of the Siddhas and way. All I had to go by was the many pieces of literature, books, and talks on VCD from the local chapter of Ongkara Kudil, led by Thavathiru Rengaraja Desigar, a pioneer on this path. He has guided us well through this medium for today I understand fully his approach was most appropriate for beginners like me. He brought seekers to carry out charity, most importantly feeding the hungry, as did Ramalinga Adigal some 153 years back in Vadalur. He had them recite the names of the Siddhas and worship them. He made them wait patiently for the Siddhas to come and conduct their breath or Vaasi, launching their journey within. We have seen his method and teachings bring results. Agathiyar who showed me two wonderful gurus, Supramania Swami of Tiruvannamalai and Tavayogi Thangarsan Adigal of Kallar Ashram, also asks me to visit him again, after my initial visit in 2003. But I chose to stick with these gurus and Agathiyar.

Agathiyar has meticulously brought us step by step, in fact taking little steps at a time, on his path till this day. He could have abandoned his child for all the obvious reasons as we are akin to the peat that is slow to burn, in this case, slow to learn. But knowing pretty well that not everyone has the capacity to burn with an open flame once ignited, he was patient with us. He came regularly through the Nadi, our gurus and recently through others to give us motivation and encouragement; to correct the flaws and fine-tune us; yes at times to apprehend us for our lackadaisical attitude towards his teachings and whiling away precious moments. He would look into the Nadi and spell out the possibilities or opportunities available for us in the near future but never convinces us or influence us to take it up or ignore them. He makes his findings known to us as predictions and steps back for us to make a wise decision. He tells us that it is we who eventually determine whether the decision we made, the path we took, etc, was right or wrong, for what is fine for someone might not be for another.

When he comes personally, he looks into our soul and gains insight into what the soul wants. Rarely does he share that with us. Most of the time due to our ignorance of the existence of our soul and inability to converse with it, we live according to the dictates of our senses and are driven by past desires or vasanas. Knowing the soul, one shall limit his thoughts, desires and bring his senses under his control, mastering it to attain the mission or task that the soul came for. This shall be made known when one slowly works on himself and progresses from chakra to chakra and finally stands at the door of the sixth chakra or Agnai says Agathiyar. There is no shortcut in coming to know his purpose in taking birth unless Agathiyar or his gurus choose to reveal to him without him having to travel the distance. Rarely does that happen for as the Siddha path is one of practically traveling the journey, first externally, then going within, we shall then be deprived of the experience that is said to be gained traveling within, transversing through these vital spots.

We are often told that what is beyond the skies is within the body too. Agathiyar says that he is the Prapanjam and that the Prapanjam is in him too. It is all his dream or plays and he is with us in this dream and play of his too. If the soul is the bridge that connects the body with the spirit, karma, desires and the ego binds the soul and spirit with the body, forcing the latter to take a physical form on the physical plane. Exhaust these three and we are set free; the chain of birth and rebirth is shattered for life. Similarly, once the binding matter is rid off, the elements that make this body is dispersed, again ending the chain of birth and rebirth, achieved not after death as is the usual case, but while still living in the flesh.

P.Karthigayan writes in his book "History of Medical and Spiritual Sciences of Siddhas of Tamil Nadu", that the ancients believed that salvation was possible through the purification of both mind and body. The Siddhas he says asserted that immortality was two-fold or dual in nature. One needed to attain Atma Siddhi or spiritual immortality and Kaaya siddhi or physical immortality. In Atma Siddhi they preserved their soul with the spirit within and in Kaaya Siddhi, they preserved the body and soul.

He gives a clear distinction between the Yogi and a Siddha in their believes, intention and purpose in life. Yogis considered their body as a bag of sin suitable only for worldly life and rejected the same; while the latter considered the body as a means to achieve exalted spiritual heights and immortalized their body by scientific means.

The Siddhas reincarnated their spirit with the soul within their own body by eliminating the worldly substances in it. The death without dying, or saagaamal saagum kalai, a status attained by the Siddhas is a loss of substances related to earth except for the form of their profile. Substances of perishable nature will get replaced by substances of cosmic nature and complete the transformation known as Kaaya Siddhi - retaining one's body forever. The Siddhas held the view that "if one "ate" the cosmic substance for immortality, the body will slowly acquire similar cosmic qualities and their mere touch can turn on miracles." For this purpose, the Siddhas discovered Karpam that was of dual nature, strengthening both the spirit and the body. This science is known in the Siddha circles as attaining Kaaya Siddhi or physical immortality or the deathless physical state which P.Kartigayan explains as "possessing the blood of Gods in a lustrous body. This state is attained by altering the natural physical fabric through science that prevailed then."

On the other hand, the means to purify the mind was to meditate on the original abode of the mind, the center of the forehead, called Lalaadam. Concentrating on this spot soon one is led into a thoughtless mental state that of Mounam, says Karthigayan. Prolonging this state is Thavam. Probing the questions in Thavam is Gnanam. He says, "It is believed that such questions will be answered by our own conscience through our spirit's connection to the cosmic library."

Karthigayan refers to Bhogar on how one is slowly groomed on the Siddha path. He starts with the purification of body and mind first, only then is he introduced to the true wisdom distinct from the false that is short-lived. If he has genuine interest he stays to further himself, otherwise, he proclaims himself as a guru and leaves. For those who stay, the divine knowledge shall be revealed slowly based on his determination and merit. Finally, he is given a divine bead that serves as armor in his journey.

A JOURNAL OF MY JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY 1959 TO 2020 - PART 6

If all the texts and books on spiritualism and religion that I read in the early years only added further to my confusion, bringing more and more questions to surface, these same books bring a sense of understanding after having traveled the path and experiencing firsthand. Today I understand pretty well why Lord Shiva came in a dream and asks to hold all my questions to a later date, hence grinding to a halt all the reading, debating, the queries, and the worship too.

After 14 years when the planets were in perfect alignment; when I had successfully drained myself empty of all the knowledge, opinions, and beliefs gathered before; when I was an empty vessel waiting to be filled; Agathiyar through his network sends a message and a mantra to me through a nephew of mine, setting me back on track, this time on his track. Bringing me to his path, and then bringing me to appease the atrocities I had done in the past births, Agathiyar set me on a journey of discovery of temples, their deities, and the history or stala puranam behind the emergence of these temples. Then he sends me to my very first guru Supramania Swami to learn about his gurus, and his relationship and devotion to them and showing me the ability of the guru to materialize again even after going into samadhi. He then sent Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal to my shores and I am given initiation and taken in officially as a student on the path of the Siddhas. Bringing him to accompany me on my second pilgrimage to India, I am brought on a journey of discovery of places related to the Siddhas and given quick glimpses of these Siddhas and their miracles or Siddhis. After the demise of both my gurus in physical form, Agathiyar and the deities come through others to teach us further, besides the very medium that started me off on this journey of discovery - the Nadi.

From showing their presence in the worldly realm, they moved inwards to show us that they could come to us in subtle forms too as a smell, odor or aroma or coming in a quiet and mysterious way without attracting attention, hardly obvious but perceivable and understood with a little bit of attention and concentration. These days they are asking us to go within and realize and experience their presence within, in the silent moments of meditation. From the many travels that they initiated on the path of Sariyai, to the many rituals that they initiated and had us done on the path of Kriyai, to the numerous practices and regimes they taught and enforced on us as in the path of Yoga, today we stand at the threshold of entering the gates to a whole new journey within that shall bring us fresh experiences that Agathiyar says shall come to be the true Jnana, varying from person to person. If Sariyai and Kriyai had accommodated the involvement of others, Yogam and Jnanam have to be a solo journey of self-discovery. If others can merely be participating in Sariyai and Kriyai as onlookers to gain its benefits, Yogam and Jnanam have to be undertaken by each individual to gain and reap its benefits. But the cornerstone or foundation of all these paths has to be either devotion to the deity, the guru, the path or the teachings.

From the Preface to the book "Narada Bhakti Sutras", published by Sri Ramakrishna Math, Madras, we learn that Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, echoing the experience and verdict of the saints before him, had stressed again and again that for Kaliyuga the path of devotion as described by sage Narada was indeed the best and easiest. What is devotion or bhakti? Supreme Divine Love and the steps towards it is called bhakti. Bhakti is classified into two; Aparabhakti and Parabhakti. Aparabhakti is the preparatory stage working on moral rules and spiritual discipline, that is a means to the realization of the actual goal Parabhakti, a stage or state of full maturation or achievement of the entire effort of Aparabhakti. Besides our efforts, we are always reminded that we need the grace of the divine, even to turn out sight on a temple or come to spiritual practice. The mind of the devotee once prepared and is ready to take the plunge, the divine illumination or jnana arises from within the self, again a result of the divine's blessings.

What does a Guru do? He brings others who are willing to listen and follow; who are willing to put in the hours and practice; who are ever-thoughtful that the guru is in charge of his life henceforth; to experience a similar state of lasting bliss that is attainable at the end of the journey shown. This is beautifully exemplified in the Preface to the book "Narada Bhakti Sutras." If I may borrow a few words, "The divine sage Narada declares to the entire humanity through his auspicious gospel, with the anxiety of a great savior, the existence of this immortal divine bliss as the birthright of all; admonishing them of wasting precious time and energy on trivial matters; waking us up from being ignorant of such a highly divine state; asking us to strive for it; instructing the seeking aspirant about the methods by which he may attain his goal; encouraging and motivating the seekers with the shining examples of the perfect devotees, and assuring them through his own experiences and finally standing as an exemplary person for others to follow."

Agathiyar tells us that we have to move on from Sariyai and Kriyai to Yogam and Jnanam. Rather than have us refer to the Yoga texts solely, he has asked us to revisit the techniques given and shown by Tavayogi several years earlier. He has asked us to put into practice the techniques that he shared in his Nadi readings and whenever he came through others. Putting into practice and having seen and experienced its effects, these days as we read up on it from the books we can relate to what is been said by the Siddhas. The many books that were a source of confusion then supplement our knowledge these days after having put in practice and experienced the teachings.

P.Karthigayan in his well-researched book "History of Medical and Spiritual Sciences of Siddhas of Tamil Nadu", Notion Press, 2016, states that Astanga Yoga can redefine a soul to attain a radiant spirit, attaining Spiritual Immortality or Atma Siddhi. How does that work? Astanga Yoga that is an eight-limbed Yoga brings the person to a new way of life with coming to its first two limbs. He then takes on a new style of life. Moving further he is brought into a new realm of perception preparing him now to receive the Siddhas wisdom.

Having good conduct and perfecting it (Iyamam), he takes on good virtues, extolled by the Siddhas (Niyamam). As Agathiyar told us that it was not enough to claim that we are his children but that we should live like him, taking on the qualities of the guru or Siddha, a transformation has to begin in us. Even this he has to initiate, we understood. Our part then is to put in the effort. As a result of "the aspirant practicing meticulously with unflagging zeal and unbroken continuity, the new changes that ensue and becomes predominant in him, enhances the behavior and character of the aspirant bringing on more blessings from the divine." (Source: From the Preface to the book "Narada Bhakti Sutras")

Bringing him to a new way of life, he then tunes his body through the practice of Yogic exercises or Asanam, respecting it as an abode of the divine. He moves on to worship "the breath" as Tavayogi said, "Breath is God." Through Pranayama the cosmos is tapped and its energies brought within. The body turns into the divine's abode. The negativity that is preserved in the mind and all over the body is negated through the withdrawal of our thoughts and conscience from all the sensual points by Prathyagaram. Agathiyar brushed aside the excruciating pain I had in my back telling me it was only sensual in manner and to ignore it. He helped me erase the past memories trapped in the body, releasing them as pain, asking me to bear with it. Agathiyar tells us that there are many ways to rid oneself of his karma or past memories embedded as vasanas that become the causes and the reasons to give rise to taking rebirths. We are blessed if the guru takes on our karma. Sadly no guru in physical form would willingly do it, with a couple of exceptional gurus that I personally have encountered who took on my karma and that of my family members. One can go for a Nadi reading and take the advice of the Siddhas who would spell out the remedies that would initiate us to carry out worship and charity. By personally taking on the rituals of conducting the fire rites or Yagam or Homam one can burn his karma in this sacrificial fire. Finally if one can bring himself into the state of Prathyagaram he burns the remnants of all past memories and karma effectively.

Agathiyar asks us to resume doing Nadi Suddhi prior to Prathyagaram. If Nadi Suddhi cleans the nervous system, simultaneously he gives his Kuzhambu to rid the body of the wastes and another magic potion to be taken daily to thoroughly cleanse it. He reminds me that it is difficult or almost impossible to train the mind hence asks that we cleanse the body ridding it of waste, toxins or kalivu. Agathiyar now brings us to Tharanai, and simultaneously introduces Kumbakam, asking us to bring to the fore our very first Diksa mantra, silently repeating it as we hold our breath. Ramalinga Adigal too came to lead us into Kumbakam.

P.Karthigayan translates Agathiyar's song, "The art of making the inhaled breath to penetrate into the roots of vital spots wherein the five Lords illumine their colors and making those vital spots to absorb the goodness of inhaled breath transformed into vital force called Vaalai. The breath that is inhaled through both nostrils will pass through the ladder of kundalini spot by spot and vitalize each spot in turn and finally hit at the topmost spot, the opening of which will elevate the dual force towards Sahasradhalam."

Karthigayan writes "Worshipping the lamplight at the end of worship is thus a symbolic representation of the above divine feat in our body the little cosmos." This is what Tavayogi has helped depict to devotees by erecting the Aaru Aaathara Peedham or Six staged Peedham at his Kallar Ashram.

Lord Muruga, Agathiyar and Ramalinga Adigal have kept telling us to go within or into meditative worship or Dyanam. Karthigayan writes, "In Ashtanga Yogam, Dyanam means worshipping the God in one's six vital spots, and practicing yogic breath in the prescribed manner while focussing the mind on the different vital spots of the spinal cord. The disciple should then pray to these Lords to bless him/ her with their powers and permit him to proceed further in his spiritual expedition." If earlier Tavayogi had physically brought me to the various abodes of the deities in Tamilnadu, after returning from this wonderful spiritual journey to all the vortexes or energy centers on the face of the earth, he blessed me with a Diksha in the confines of his ashram that addresses these deities at their respective abodes within the physical body. Here we are led to worship the deities associated with these spots or chakras.

Then as in Karthigayan's words, we capture the Heaven within or the state of Samadhi. A triangular fusion called Mukti takes place at the sixth vital spot or chakra, the Agnai, while his physical body goes into inertia. A spectacular luminary form of God or Arutperunjhoti as Ramalinga Adigal names it, is perceived, made possible by the heat of the fire or Tava Kanal, a result of Tapas done, that is kindled at the lowest vital spot and brought to arise through the various vital spots. As Karthigayan explained, this might take a lifetime or many births. Only Agathiyar can say. But with a yearning, determination or vairagya, proper and concerted effort and most of all his blessings it might just take place here in the future. Just as it is he who gives rise to the thought to someone to begin worship or visit a temple, Agathiyar says we can only show the way to others; we cannot tug, pull or drag them along. He reminds us that although many turn up at his door they are still mesmerized by the pull of Maya or the outside world and the pleasures it has to offer. They will eventually see through this veil of Maya or impermanence and come knocking his door again. He then tells us that he has not brought them to the path of Jnana, not as yet. Whether someone comes or leaves is determined by him. He reminds us again and again that it is all his doing.

I realize that it needs patience to be on this path. For those who seek immediate relief please look elsewhere. Many have stood before him expressing their dissatisfaction in Agathiyar not fulfilling his promise. For some his advice landed them in trouble and financial losses. Unable to accept the fact they confront him. I too was puzzled as to why his directives to them backfired. Touching on politics, his predictions never materialized too, puzzling me further. While some in the face of adversity left Agathiyar seeking solutions in other places, some scorning him, a few who went through and had their fair share of troubles, problems and financial losses came out unscathed by all the happenings, becoming much bolder and stronger, now holding even more firmly to Agathiyar's feet. One of them understood that her desire or vasana that she carried had to bear fruit through the efforts she took in building her business only to close it later, seeing it as the best option now. She understood that she needed the experience. But she has resolved to start anew in the future having learned some precious lessons now. Her devotion to Agathiyar has increased in manifolds and it pleases me to see her resolve and determination to go on with life. Similarly, when others had given up on life after going old and ailing, my mother has the resolve to live a healthy life until her last days. Her prayer is that she should not be a burden to her children. Her effort does not stop with prayers but she takes care of her diet and takes her medicine as prescribed. She engages in conversations and keeps herself abreast of the current happenings. I am grateful to Agathiyar to have kept her well to this day. I am grateful to him too for taking care of my late father who passed away peacefully. During his last moments, he found a spot for himself at home to sit in an Asanam and left his body instantaneously. He did not have any ailment nor did he suffer.

This path is not for the faint-hearted writes KP from South Africa. I had carried her full text earlier at https://agathiyarvanam.blogspot.com/2020/03/conversations-with-agathiyar-from-south.html. She says it beautifully capturing the cream of the Siddha teachings.  She touches on the aforementioned subject too, Iyamam and Niyamam. For one who has gone through much pain, she understands fully what is taking place. Her love for Agathiyar too has grown tremendously, for she sees herself having a conversation with him.
It also plays a pivotal role in gradually abandoning unfavorable behavioral tendencies to be replenished with appropriate life-enhancing adjustments. Ambitious mission indeed; which undoubtedly cannot be achieved overnight and definitely not without varying levels of pain or suffering. The path can, therefore, be perceived as a platform where serious work is executed, by both the Siddhas and the learners. Learners are groomed; often-through acute experiences to produce extraordinary results. There are no games here.  One has to be all in. Hence the burning question “Are you ready to surrender?” The entities that run this operation do not have the time or resources for time wasters or indecisive followers.  Although not for the faint-hearted those that commit to the path are taken by the hand, guided, supported, encouraged and nurtured through their personal journey regardless of past karma, present karma, good days, bad days, daily challenges or successes.
This is exactly what Agathiyar implied to us several days ago. This is what he set out to do too, start us on building a mandala and having us destroy it to show us the impermanency of life and reminding us not to get hooked, hitched or attached to what is passing. It is a strong reminder to all his devotees that the honeymoon years are over. Her words have summarized his path.

A reader of this blog wrote in his say and opinion, agreeing on KP's observation.
So deep the conversation with Agathiyar Appa Anna. What I understood was he raise the questions within us and give the answer from us by asking us to seek the knowledge. He never answered to our question but he train us to get the answer by ourself.
If KP wrote, "My intention was to illustrate through worship, trust, faith and surrender how easy and simple it was to reach him in one's head", another devotee's love for Agathiyar brought her to add her fiance in a Whatsapp group and remove him immediately, leaving only her and Agathiyar. She now has a heart to heart personal conversation daily with Agathiyar in the group. This is the extent that some devotees go to make known their devotion to Agathiyar. I am amazed after each post is written and begin rereading it for the messages that are conveyed in these posts serve as a lesson to me too. This relationship with him only grows after being with him for years. Someone new to him will never understand our love for him.

As I wrote at the beginning of these posts on my journey, these sharings are not to boost my ego or to make an impression or a statement that I and all those who came along with me on this journey are special in the eyes of the divine. We are neither special nor are we the apple of the eye of Agathiyar. He loves everyone equally. It is just that we came to him earlier. Others will come to him in good time. The idea of sharing them is to make known to readers how simple it is to get the grace of the Siddhas by way of worship to them. What was required of us was just attending to their worship; they took care of the rest, including our inner spiritual development and advancement and the family too. One's experience will kindle another to travel the way. That is all we are doing here. To make progress each one has to put in the effort. The Siddhas promised a better future and a silver lining, both in the materialistic and spiritual world and sense. Although I have seen through much of what has been revealed to date, there are many other revelations that have yet to take place. Only the future will tell.
