LET US DO GOD'S WORK

We are always expecting something from God, the divine, the guru, or another. Seldom do we come across true devotion or selfless service. We start a group, society, movement, or organization in their name and begin to host programs thinking that we are doing service to and in the name of God, the divine, the guru, or another. But never for a moment have we asked what God, the divine, the guru, or another want. Bharathi sings beautifully in his song "Ninnai Saran Adaithen Kannama" that all misery that aroused from expecting results for his efforts came to an end when he took up God's work and became satisfied.

We are like sheep following others, duplicating things. The needs differ according to time and place. Hence the approach too should differ. It is alright to trend the time-tested ways but what if it was a waste of time and effort and energy in present times. Would not it be a challenge to pioneer and engineer new ways and approaches? Then again would not it be better to carry out God's work as Bharathi did and arrive at a state of Puranam or completeness and satisfaction.
