HEADING HOME

It was with much hesitation that I began to openly write about the rising of Kundalini within me, only recently, after I picked up the courage to discuss it in an open forum, such as this blog, and only after Agathiyar asked me to share about the changes that took place in me. The Kundalini has always been shrouded in mystery and ticked off as being dangerous if once awakened. But it has to be awakened if one wants to head back to where he came from and to settle in his or her original state of being, that is, Light. When masters shun to talk about it, even to their followers, Tavayogi too, who kept it close to his heart, finally, in his final discourse to us, a handful from the AVM family who had gathered at the event "An Evening with Tavayogi in Malaysia" in 2016, spoke on it briefly. We have heard and read about the Kundalini gone wrong many times for many. So we understand why the masters caution us about awakening her without proper supervision and techniques. She is not a play toy to be toyed with. A guru who has been there and back to relay and share has to be on hand to constantly monitor and supervise his student during this period of upheaval. The transmission cannot be one of touch and go and leave the student to find his way, the hard way.

Gathering the courage, I compiled all the short notes that I began to take down after each experience over the years. After I was shown the Asanas and Pranayama techniques by Tavayogi in 2007, Kundalini started her Journey heading back home, without my knowledge, until the Siddhas came one after another in the Nadi and revealed and spoke about her.

I was moved to meet Tavayogi after an advertisement in the local Tamil daily newspaper carried his name, Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal. This triggered me to search for a leaflet that carried the name Thaai Veedu Thangarasan that I had stashed away after receiving it from the Nadi reader after my very first Nadi reading in 2002. I wondered if they were one and headed for the local peedham that he had come to officiate back then in 2005. Receiving an initiation on the same day with several others, including my wife, Agathiyar, coming in a Nadi reading later directed me to get another initiation again. Although we were both puzzled, as I had been initiated earlier, Tavayogi just touched my shoulders and sent me away. Then Tavayogi, as he took me on a journey of discovery to the abodes of the Siddhas, a couple of months after he returned to his Kallar ashram, mentioned, "Only now the true journey begins". Agathiyar had earlier come to Tavayogi the day I arrived at his Kallar ashram, asking him what he was going to give me, and told him that he would reveal it later. In 2007, during another visit to Malaysia, Tavayogi taught me and several others Asana and Pranayama techniques and left. Agathiyar later tells me that I had received a treasure that day.

Indeed, it was a treasure chest that had the key to returning home to God's kingdom. It was the key to open the Muladhara and awaken the sleeping Kundalini energy and release her back to where she came from. The manual came in the form of the Nadi, where the Siddhas, over the years, have been enlightening me on this internal journey now. They ensured that she did not deviate from her course. I, too, was cautioned to heed and follow their advice that they gave through the Nadi readings. And so I came through without much damage and danger. My sufferings were mere discomfort, said Agathiyar, in comparison with what they went through. Tavayogi mentioned with surprise that I got it easily, while they had to work towards it. Ramalinga Adigal, in connecting me to Prapanjam, has me touch her and vice versa. I knew then that I was a blessed kid. I am grateful to God, the Siddhas, my gurus, upagurus, my parents, my family and friends, and all those who came into my life and touched me.

So the question "Why do we need to praise the Siddhas?" from a fellow devotee some years back is answered today. In calling out the names as in the recitation of the Siddha names, they turn to look at us. In lighting the Homam, we draw the bridge down for them to come down into our homes. In carrying out Abisegam or libation, we give them a bath and cool them, bringing the intensity of their shine and luminosity down so that we do not go blind when they appear before us. They then come as the guru in the physical form to teach us the method and the means to return home, giving us the tools too. Then, as we begin to adopt and practice, they stand by us as a companion, guiding us in many ways. They keep watch over our Little Red Riding Hood (Kundalini), making her way back home, ensuring that the Big Bad Wolf (Maya) does not come in disguise and lure and deviate her into its den and eat her up, thus bringing an end to her journey in a tragic manner, instead. Then they take our hands and lead us back home, safe to become one with them - Light.
