THE PUZZLE FITS

AVM/ AUM ILLAM

First he asked us to worship him. When we gave him a bath, cleaned him and dressed him up, garlanded him, fed him and chanted his name, his name sank into the deep recesses of our soul. Through these rituals Agathiyar brought us to adore him, bring out the love for him in us.

Lord Muruga brought us to see him and Agathiyar in the children around us.

POTHIHAI THARMA CHAKKRAM/ THONDU SEIVOM/ AMUDHA SURABHI/ THEDAL ULLA THENIKALAAI

If initially he brought us to see him in his statue thorough idol worship, soon he brought us to see him in other human beings. He brought us to feed the hungry and homeless. He brought us to see him in the eyes of the unfortunate souls. Then he brought us to feed the animals. We began to see him in the eyes of these creatures.

He slowly brought compassion that lay buried deep within us to the surface.

He has brought us to see him in the prapanjam and the prapanjam in him. Today we feel proud that we can look at a stone and see and feel him in it. When we see a human and an animal, we see him in it too.

THE LORD DOES COME PART 3 - WHEN HEAVENS GATES OPEN

I was brought up to pray to the pantheon of Hindu Gods and Goddesses both at home and in the temples following my parents footsteps. Soon I took the initiative to know the basics of other faiths and religions too.

Then as I began to read more and more I understood Erai to be most compassionate to his creation but in reality I saw people around me suffer. How could a compassionate Erai bring suffering to his children? These and many other questions disturbed me. Thanks to Lord Shiva he came in the nick of time and saved me from turning cuckoo trying to seek answers to these queries. He came in a dream and asked me to pull the brakes on all questions. I stepped aside from all forms of worship for 14 years. Then Agathiyar without my knowing came into my life by passing a mantra and a painting of Lord Dhakshanamurthy and began me on worship of the three aspects of Shakti during Navarathri.

A year later I discovered the existence of the Siddhas through Dr Krishnan and later through my very first Nadi reading. It came as a surprise to me that Agathiyar invited me to his path and instructed me to worship him and the Siddhas. Agathiyar and Avvai were with Lord Muruga in a painting at our altar for years, since the day I could remember.

If prior to my Vanavaasam or self impose exile from all matters religious and spiritual, I took up the study of Hinduism in general, during my post exile period I turned my attention to Siddha writings and literature. Ramalinga Adigal's Tiruarutpa captivated me.

Through the Nadi Agathiyar encouraged me to continue the worship of the Siddhas. Then he arranged for me to meet Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal of Kallar Ashram. I learnt about the Siddhas from him by watching him. With Erai's blessing, Agathiyar's guidance, Supramania Swami's love, Tavayogi's beatings, my perspective of spiritual life changed - molded and shaped by them.

I never gave up rituals and worship as it was the flagship of AVM.

Some casual attendees who dropped by at AVM out of curiosity have asked what did we gain by coming into the worship of the Siddhas quite akin to making a business investment and expecting a hefty profit.

I let Lord Muruga speak for us.

Recite the names of the Siddhas and all doors, both external and internal, shall unlock! Recite the name of Agathiyar and Lord Muruga and heavens gate opens!

COW FEEDING

JNANA SIDDHA ERA

Much has been said about the coming of the Siddha Era. We have been getting hints from Agathiyar but Lord Muruga finally reveals how they have been preparing for it; how it is going to be; and what is going to take place.

Lord Muruga says the Siddhas and Mahaans had time and again come to Malaya and present day Malaysia. They have appointed and placed Agathiyar in strategic locations and all directions. The coming of Agathiyar is the start of the Jnana Siddhar Yugam or Era. If earlier he told us that both Agathiyar and Lord Murugan shall be born as our children and grandchildren, a generation of highly evolved souls taking birth again, now he reveals that he has appointed his representatives in numerous places to lead and do his job. They shall play their lilas through these chosen ones. Amazing.

Lord Muruga also talks about the auspiciousness of the Agathiyar in the Carey Island where we did libation or abhisegam for him recently. See https://agathiyarvanam.blogspot.my/2018/02/agathiyar-in-carey-island.html Agathiyar was installed some 80 years ago at this temple. This image of Agathiyar who holds the Suvadi or inscriptions on dried palm leaves and Yezhutaani or writing tool, depicts that of Jnana. He is in the state and form of Mouna Guru. He is the giver of Jnana. He communicates in silence. He is waiting to remove our Karma. By the mere mention of his name at this place, all of creation will turn towards his direction. By worshiping here the heart shall melt and change will take place in people. They will come into Jnana. Lord Muruga encourages us to garland him with yellow flowers, his favourite color.

After returning from the island, GK who participated in the puja had a dream. Lord Muruga had asked for a libation or abhisegam! He reminds GK of his wish that was conveyed through the dream in a Nadi reading yesterday.

THE LORD DOES COME PART 2

2005. Two years after my last visit to Palani. As we stood in line for the gates to his chambers to be opened for the day I felt elated that this time around I was seeing Lord Muruga at Palani accompanied by my guru Tavayogi. But again I do not remember a single thing while there. We came away from his chamber into the open and crossed a courtyard to Bhogar's sannadhi. We moved into a corridor that was painted with murals depicting events in Bhogar's life. If this was Bhogar's sannadhi then where was I the first time I came to Palani?  The route to Bhogar's sannadhi was different then.

As the senior priest began explaining to Tavayogi and my brother the origin of the temple, I walked across the room to the exit door and sat down again. Again a young priest was in attendance. As we stepped out of the chambers into the corridor the young priest reappeared in the corridor. Again he had a tumbler in his hands. He passed it to Tavayogi who was in front. Tavayogi took a gulp and passed the tumbler to my brother who was behind him. He took a gulp too and passed it to me. I emptied the milk down my throat and passed the tumbler back to the priest with a nod of thanks. I hurried behind Tavayogi and my brother who had already moved out into the open. That is when it happened again. I was in a state of bliss exactly as I had experienced on my first trip. I began to lag behind as Tavayogi and my brother walked ahead having a conversation. Suddenly Tavayogi stopped and looked at me asking, "What Son?" That moment I knew that he knew! He knew what was happening. There was a sparkle in his eyes as he turned towards me and asked the question with a grin. I just walked right up to him and laid my head on his chest. After a moment he turned around and continued walking. I was literally walking on air!

2016. As AVM family members and I stood in front of Lord Muruga at Palani, again I saw nothing that I could remember! How do I explain this? As we left Lord Murugan's sannadhi we stepped into a open courtyard and walked across to a flight of steps that took us into a corridor. We stood in line waiting to enter Bhogar's samadhi. As arati was shown this time by a young priest, tall and well built, fair and handsome, a lady who stood with us was chanting aloud a hymn for Bhuvaneswari. She left ahead of us as we stepped into the open. Then Bala Chandran wanted to chant the names of the Siddhas inside Bhogar's sannadhi. So we entered the door that led to the corridor again and positioned ourselves just outside Bhogar's chamber in a way as to not to obstruct other devotees from queuing up to see Bhogar. Then to our surprise the lady we saw earlier appeared and took a seat to the left of Bala. As it was closing time the temple aids were signalling us to hurry up but Bala was motioning them trying to buy more time. Bala began to speed up the pace of his chant as we followed suite. As the aids motioned us to end, the lady told Bala, "If the others want to leave they can but you stay and finish" (the rendition of all the names of the Siddhas). She gestured and told Bala to speed it up even faster. We all followed to Bala's momentum. The moment we ended the rendition she got up and entered Bhogar's sannadhi. She applied the holy ash and kumkum to some of us and speed off after blessing us. We came out of Bhogar's chamber in a daze and sat down in the courtyard trying to digest what had just happened in the secret chamber of Bhogar!

If in 2003 an elderly man clad in white vesti appeared at my car door as I was about to close it and blessed me, in 2016, an elderly lady who was clad in a saree, green to some, blue to others, blessed all of us from the AVM family at Sri Rangam.

We had just passed by her as we went seeking Ramanujar's samadhi in the courtyard of the temple when I turned back towards her and patted her cheeks. She was standing under the covered way with hands greeting us. As soon as Bala Chandran fell at her feet she looked towards the sky and began blessing him and turned her look towards every single one of us who were rooted to where we stood. There was something about her look that froze us. Amazing.

At Thiruvanaikaval, as I hastened into the temple looking out for Lord Dhakshanamurthy's sannadhi that broke me on my earlier visit in 2003 and 2013, a lady came up to me and placed prasad in my hands, right in front of Sri Jambukeshwarar's sannadhi. Again we were allowed into the sanctum and the priest shifted the water with his hands to show us that the linga was partially in water.

As we arrived at Lord Dhakshanamurthy's sannadhi, Bala spotted both Agathiyar and Lobhama just some distance away. We made our way back to Agathiyar and Lobhama and offered our homage. As we took our places at Lord Dhakshanamurthy's sannadhi and Bala began the recitation of the Siddhas' names, an elderly priest walked up to the shrine and unlocked the grills to the sanctum. When Bala stopped the recitation abruptly on seeing him, he gestured Bala to carry on while he stood in attendance listening on. Just as we were coming to the end of the recitation, he picked up the arati tool and lighted the flame, as if he knew we were about to end. The priest had no reason to be there but he appeared! Amazing.

2013. Jnana Jhothiamma who came down to Trichy from Chennai to greet us upon arrival accompanied me and my family to Thiruvanaikaval. Again I broke down at  Lord Dhakshanamurthy's sannadhi. Then Jnana Jhothiamma came up to me and whispered to me to place some token on the tray of the priest in attendance. I took some rupees from my wallet and approached him. He was tall and well built, fair and handsome with a green cloth wrapped around his waist. He was giving out the sacred ash to other devotees too. As I stood in front of him and placed the money on the tray that he held out in his hands, he asked me, "Did you see?", moving his eye from side to side and drawing my look towards Lord Dhakshanamurthy's statue. Immediately I saw Lord Muruga of Palani in the flesh in the form of the priest! What he had hidden from me all three times at Palani, he showed me at Thiruvanaikaval.

On the way up to the Uchipilaiyar temple in 2016, who should I meet but the mute man who appeared mysteriously and led and guided my family and me on a specific path in worship around the temple three years earlier. My family and I were coming in circles looking for Tayumanar's sannadhi when we heard a loud clap of the hands. An old man was clapping his hands and motioning us with hand gestures from his seat some distance away. He got up from the ground as we approached him and lead us hurriedly to several sannadhis before staying back and showing us up a flight of steps to Lord Shiva.

At Brahmapureeswarar temple the AVM family is called over to Ambal's sannadhi where surprisingly the priest shares with us a meditation technique that went along with a universal prayer for the well being of all of Erai's creation. Upon reciting after him, it energized our palms too.

At the Adhi Kumbeswarar Agathiyar sannadhi, a devotee of Agathiyar, Siddha medicine practitioner and current caretaker is told to drop what he was doing and head for his sannadhi. He hurries into the sannadhi and unlocks the grill doors. Again the doors to Erai's chambers open as we sat reciting the names of the Siddhas. Amazing!

At Kuthambai Siddha's Jeeva samadhi at the Arulmigu Sri Mayuranathaswami Temple, Mayiladuthurai (Mayavaram), we experienced the Siddhas presence that was so overwhelming that the ground shook as Bala Chandran recited the names of the Siddhas and we followed.

A similar phenomena was felt at Sundarananthar Vallabha Siddhar Sannadhi at the Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple in Madurai as we began to recite the names of the Siddhas.

As we arrived late at night at the Arulmigu Koraka Siddhar Jeeva Samadhi Peedham, in Vadakku Poigai Nalloor to spent the night at the temple as asked of Dyalen, to our disappointment the gates were closed. As we settled to spent the night in the cold on the verandah of the temple suddenly a voice asked, “Where are you coming from?”(Yengiranthu Varinga?) As we looked around for the source of the voice, he asked the same question. Shanga replied that we were from Malaysia. Immediately the voice ask if we would like to enter? (Ulle Varingala?) Then we saw a figure get up from under a blanket and move to the gate. We were allowed access into the temple to spend the night.

2005. When Tavayogi during his morning walk tells me Agathiyar came and they discussed about me, I just looked back at him with disbelief as questions raced through my mind. When he brought me to the Siddha sites and he tells me the Siddhas have come, pointing me to certain signs of their arrival and their presence, I looked towards the direction but saw nothing, smelt nothing nor sensed their presence. Again I turned to him with disbelief as questions raced through my mind. But today I am a firm believer of miracles. Hence this blog came to be.

Recite the names of the Siddhas and all doors, both external and internal, shall unlock!

THE LORD DOES COME PART 1

Traveling the path of the Siddhas brought us to witness many miracles. Many shared their miraculous stories with us too. I love to see miracles in all things. And so the Siddhas kept showing it to us. This blog and my YouTube Channel carries numerous episodes on these miracles.

Agathiyar promised to show me miracles in my very first Nadi reading way back in 2002. And thus the miracles were shown on my very first maiden pilgrimage the following year.

When I had darshan of Lord Vengadasalapathy in 1 1/2 hours, I saw it as a blessing for many have stood for hours and days to get his darshan and his blessing. But he was worth waiting. Lord Narayana was so beautiful that day at Tirupathy.

When a young priest ushered me into Lord Nadarajah's chamber at Egambeshwarar temple in Kanchipuram, I stepped into a portal. As the main sanctum was occupied with a family doing a special prayer, and the temple priests were engaged with them, I did not know how I was going to get an archanai done at the sanctum. As I came round along the corridors of the temple, I stood in front of a huge chamber on my left with a young priest waiting in attendance. A majestic hugh statue of Lord Nadarajah in that chamber caught my attention. The priest ushered me in. As I stepped into the chamber, I could only stop and watch in awe and amazement at the magnificent sight of the Lord. By the time I came to my senses the priest was already waiting to show the arti. As I began taking a few more steps towards him I felt as though I had stepped into another time zone; another place; another space. His space. I had him all to myself. I took in the sights and sounds as the young priest started chanting mantras and showing the arati. I stood before the Lord engrossed in his beauty. That is when I broke down in tears, crying my heart out. There was not a single exchange of words between the priest and me as I gave him a glance of thanks and gratitude and a token, and turned around and walked out of my Lord's home. An amazing darshan.

When I was at Mayiladuthurai temple in 2003, nothing significant happened. But during my visit again this time with the AVM family in 2016, we could imbibe the presence of the Siddhas here and in several other places. More on that later.

I arrived at the Suryanar temple in Mayil Aduthurai in the scorching heat of the afternoon, at exactly 12 noon. I had been advised against giving alms to the poor on this pilgrimage by my brother who had the bitter experience of having to ward off large groups of beggars who turned up once they saw a foreigner or visitor giving donations. Sivabalan too had particularly mentioned to me to be wary of beggars in the guise of sadhu’s especially at this temple. Just as they mentioned there were many kaavi clad beggars sitting on both sides of the walkway all the way to the temple entrance. So taking heed of their advice, I left the grounds of the temple hurriedly when a woman came after me reaching out her hands, asking for alms followed by a disfigured man. She, as if could read my mind, called out after me, “There is only two of us - please donate”. True enough no one was around in the immediate grounds of the temple. I dipped my hands into my pockets and handed whatever cash I had then, to the woman who happily turned around and left with her partner. A miracle indeed.

On arriving at the Uttamar temple Deva left me in the car as he went into the temple to see if there was a priest who could be of assistance in advising me on how to go about doing my parikaaram at this temple as the Nadi did not stipulate in detail as to what I was to do and offer here. All Agathiyar said was that I had to donate to three Brahmin priests at this temple. Then Deva appears with a priest willing to help. The priest offered to bring me to the Thiruvanaikaval temple too where I had a parikaram too. He suggested we head for Thiruvanaikaval temple first and fast before they close for lunch break. We decided to come back to Utamar temple at night for the parikaaram.

At Thiruvanaikaval temple, the priest advised me on what was required to be purchased, pointing them out and I quickly purchased them. What was magical was that he used his contacts at the temple to open doors that were closed! He had Lord Vinayagar’s chamber opened for me. He had Lord Muruga's chamber open for me. At the main Shiva sannadhi, he looked around and approached an old Brahmin priest who was sitting with others in a corner, having his break, to show the arati. “You are the one to do the prayer,” he told him. I had the privilege to enter the main sanctum. The old priest dipped his hands into the water around the lingam showing me that it was partially submerged in water.

After the arati, I was driven to fall at the feet of the elderly priest for his blessings. As I picked myself up, I noticed the priest from Utamar temple, the temple caretaker and Deva, were all lying face down in front of the priest too just as I did. Next the accompanying priest from Utamar temple insisted this elderly priest should conduct the prayers at the Dhakshana Murthi sanctum too. Here I broke down. I supposed I must have cried aloud here, for the caretaker of the temple began to console me. The priest from Utamar temple asked him to let me be, “Let him be, let him cry.” They all waited for me to release all the pent up emotions before the Guru. I finally picked myself up and we all adjourned to buy food parcels from the temple management and fed the poor, the temple cow and elephant on the advice of this priest.

What did take place at Thiruvanaikaval? I was literally teleported from one shrine to another, with the priest from Uttamar temple leading me on, performing each prayer to the utmost satisfaction. On leaving the temple, the priest whom we picked up at Utamar temple insisted that I dropped him off at a location that he indicated. He did not want me to send him back to the Utamar temple saying he had other errands to run. We dropped him at the location where he wanted to get off. After asking him for his consent and handing over to him one of the three tokens that I was to give as parikaram, we drove off. I turned to look back at him and suddenly realized that we had in fact dropped him off at a Hanuman temple! An amazing turn of events.

After worshiping at the famed Sri Rangam temple, as I got into the back seat of the car and tugged at the car door to close it, a holy man stood right next to the open car door. Where did he come from? He practically materialized from thin air. He was very fair, of average height, had a long white beard, long hair that was tied up neatly, and dressed in a clean white vesti. He looked merry and cheerful. He began to bless me, “You shall be fine.” He spoke fine English and Tamil. He kept on repeating this. I bent to touch his feet, asked if he had eaten, and dipped my hand into my pockets and handed him whatever amount that came along with it. I bid farewell to him, shut the door and glanced back. He was gone! Another miracle.

After prayers at Thiruavinankudi temple, I bought prayer items for the abhisegam or libation of Lord Muruga and started my climb up to the hill temple. On taking my first step, my feet suddenly froze. I just could not move my legs. They felt extremely heavy as if rooted to the ground. I tugged on my legs. It did not budge. Finally I had to lift my legs one at a time with both my hands. This is how I began to climb the stairs all the way to the top. The heart was pumping hard. I was gasping for air. I pushed myself determined to scale the hill, whatever may come. I had to break the climb though, stopping every few minutes. I eventually reached the top of the hill. On reaching the top, I was dizzy and on the verge of collapse. I had to sit. I looked around. I saw some stalls lined up in the open. I walked towards the row of stalls. I dropped my purchases and dropped myself to the ground, leaning against the wall of the stall. I closed my eyes. I was sweating profusely on the brink of fainting. The throat was extremely parched and dry. As I opened my eyes all was bright and white. I could hear the crowd and see silhouettes of people moving along in front of me. Having regained my composure after some time, I picked up my stuff and stood up to enter the temple. I stood in a line that brought me to Lord Muruga’s chambers. A priest walked up to me and practically snatched my offerings from my hands. "This is for archanai right?" saying thus he returned to the chambers. Shortly he reappeared again and stashed unto my hands some prasad, sandalwood paste that adorned the Lord and my purchases.

I have no recollection of seeing the Lord's image till this day. Although I was at his sannadhi physically but I have no recollection whatsoever of those moments where I stood before him. I turned to walk out of his sannadhi. I walked through a door into a dark corridor. On just taking a few steps I was brought before another chamber on my right. I looked in. There were four Brahmin priests in attendance. I asked the one closest to the door if it was Bhogar’s Samadhi and he nodded. I entered the room and stood in prayer while he showed the flame or arati. The priest pointed out the opening where Bhogar is believed to be in samadhi. He pointed out the yantra, the jade lingam and others items of worship that Bhogar had with him. As I looked over my shoulders I was surprise to see nobody else behind me standing in queue. I had Bhogar all to myself. I chose to sit for a while and walked across the room and seated myself next to the exit. None of the priests objected.

After a while I opened my eyes to see one of the priests, a young man, lean towards me with prasad in his hands. I received it. He then walked across the room and reached out for a tumbler on top of a closet and handed it to me saying, "It's abhisegam milk." I took it and drank the milk. I took leave thanking him silently.

I walked out the door into yet another corridor and come into the outdoors. That is when I fell into a state of daze but I kept walking. I walked around the temple grounds still in a daze but with a heart that was full, brimming with joy and bliss. It was as if I had partaken the ambrosia of the Gods, a mystical portion. I kept on walking till I told myself that I had to return. I finally left the premises and found my way to the car. I traveled in silence not knowing what had transpired back there.

As if that miracle was not enough Lord Muruga performed a similar miracle the second time I stepped into his temple this time with Tavayogi and my brother.

FEEDING THE HOMELESS - FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF A SOUP KITCHEN

In our endeavor to follow the dictates of the Siddhas tasking us to feed the hungry, we came across many objections and views on providing food to the homeless. Many felt we were encouraging the homeless to be lazy and dependent on handouts. Some were against distributing food to the addicts. We faced the question of when would the feeding end if it would ever end; whether this would eradicate poverty; and whether it would help change their lives.

Although these are reasonable questions we chose not to go into any form of debate but just carry out what has been tasked to us as directed by Agathiyar.

When we had no answers and statistics on these matters, I came across the following article at https://www.jirehshope.com/posts/818. Kechara an established Soup Kitchen has the answers to these questions.
Kechara is about 100 volunteers strong and has 13 various departments. They provide 2,500 meals to the homeless in Malaysia every week through their soup kitchen programme, and they also serve up to 500 families on a weekly basis through dry provisions and surplus food.
Kechara serves the homeless once a day on weekdays from their soup kitchens. On weekends, they venture out to poorer areas with food sets and a mobile medical & response team to help those who are sick, ill or to provide them with other relevant assistance.

Aside from the soup kitchens, Kechara also serves urban poor families in the peninsular through their food bank program. This programme helps needy families through monthly dry food provisions and also through surplus food that's collected from hotels and hypermarkets.

Currently, they collect surplus food from 45 Tesco stores nationwide, and they help redistribute it to those in need near the stores’ location.
Currently, they support 500 families on a weekly basis along with 70 of their NGO partners.
To provide the above services effectively and efficiently, they have put together a web app after years of doing charity and providing various other services.
Kechara registers each of these individuals so that they can keep track of them in a long term basis, and also to filter out the ones that don't really need their food. Kechara tries to discover solutions that helps get them off the streets through employment, welfare or medical assistance, shelter placement and more.
Today they have the necessary statistics on the homeless.
Through this app they've discovered that 83.7% of them were actually school dropouts. 79% of them were from underprivileged backgrounds. Out of that, 34.7% revealed to be ex-convicts or drug offenders from troubled families.
They found the reasons for people to end up on the streets.
It's generally a result of poverty. Other factors that often contribute to homelessness also include social issues, disabilities, and unfortunate upbringings. Weak family support systems that provide little to no help further increases the risks of such individuals ending up homeless. Most of the homeless are out there because of their circumstances and not by choice.
Their findings shock us.
In fact, one of Kechara’s unexpected experiences was meeting those that were dressed decently but were actually homeless. This included professors, doctors, ex-lawyers, government servants, and even chief editors who were out on the streets. This addresses the common misconception that homelessness is caused by laziness.
Kechara has no intention to stop helping the unfortunate. Its founder summarizes it well.
As Kechara’s founder wisely says, you can “Choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution”.

ERAI VISION

I used to spend hours watching my grand daughter. I used to wonder how does a child see this world. I used to wonder what was going on in her mind. I used to ask her what was she thinking? I used to ask her to share her conversation with Brahma.

Soon she will begin to observe things and start asking questions. Soon she will begin to observe others and follow too. As she grows up later she would begin to analyse things for herself. As she builds up experience and with the gathered knowledge she would become wiser. The lessons in life will serve to guide her further, helping her make wise decisions. This is part of their growth and development.

This applies in the spiritual field too. As a child we are shown an image or picture and told that that is Erai by our parents. We are taught to recite, chant and sing and perform simple rituals and methods of worship. As an adult the choice is then ours whether to follow the tradition of our ancestors or otherwise. When doubts regarding these practices arise we seek those we think can help us with the answers. These gurus put us on practices that would help towards making us realize Erai. We gain experience and with the accumulated knowledge we slowly move towards spiritual advancement. All these depends on our continuous efforts towards enriching our spiritual life.

Many have asked us what have we gained or derived from worship of the Siddhas. Sadly many long time devotees on the path of the Siddhas turned to us to voice out their dissatisfaction and complain that they never had their material desires fulfilled, even after doing so much for the Siddhas and society. We are sadden to see them expect something they desire in return. There must come a time when people should come to stop expecting rewards for their efforts.

I and many others in the AVM circle stumbled upon the Siddhas. We were neither religious nor spiritual. We came to the path without any idea and not knowing where we are heading. We came without any expectation. We came to know Erai. We were told that the Siddhas could lead us to Erai.

Tavayogi says our efforts is only two steps till the Svadhishthana. From there on Erai would lead us on. True to his words we at AVM are seeing this happening within our circle. By listening and following their dictates, we have earned the blessings of the Siddhas. The Siddhas have now taken each of us by the hand and are moulding us in an appropriate way and a way best suited to the temperament and development of each person, sometimes working beyond norms, even making exceptions and breaking and bending the rules. We have come to realize that once we have earned their respect, they open the gates to heaven and paradise. They shower us with joy, bliss, and all the good things in life. Today we are blessed to be in the folds and shadows of the Siddhas. We are blessed to receive many revelations into the workings of the Siddhas and Prapanjam. We have come to know Erai.

ERAI'S WILL OVERRIDES EVERYTHING ELSE

"Okay fine. All this while I thought I was in charge and in control of my life. I set out well laid plans but non worked. I am willing to listen. Now you tell me. What should I do?"

The moment you come to this state of mind, that is surrender.

Mahakavi Bharathi must have encountered a similar situation since he writes,

"Thinking its my doing, I suffered. I let go. Now I do your asking and am contented. I submit to you Kannama."

I decided what I wanted in life all this while. I chose the things I was comfortable with and left out others. I was satisfied with what I had in hand. But Erai placed before me many new responsibilities. I shunned from them in the beginning. But he kept opening up new frontiers and asking me to venture further. I turned down his offers for various reasons. Finally he asked that I allow his wishes to take place. I was forced to surrender to him. He asked that I step aside and watch. The moment I took the stand to watch, I saw him take over. Then we saw him move with lightning speed. We saw him move all of us and the very ground we stood on. For several minutes on it all seemed like a moment from a science fiction movie. It seemed like the scene of the unfolding streets and buildings from Marvel's Dr Strange was reenacted before our eyes.
It’s a journey through time, space, the astral plane, and something called the “mirror dimension,” in which reality folds according to the will of the movie’s heroes and villains.
... the rules of physics bend and break as city streets and ancient buildings transform into vast, interlocking, machine-like structures that act as playgrounds for the movie’s massive magic battles. At its best, watching Doctor Strange is like looking at the world through a kaleidoscope controlled by an absurdist architect with mystical powers.

Yes we met the architect with mystical powers that day. All those gathered at AVM were witness to it. He came down from his majestic abode and performed his lila or play for all to see. He had a little fun with us, as explained by him to us later.

Many stories come to my mind after that eventful day. When Tavayogi was performing the Yagam at AVM, Mataji who was singing the praise of the Siddhas thought she felt the ground under her move. But the rest of us were sitting around oblivious of the phenomena taking place. She continued singing although the ground kept on moving. The next day she shared with my wife and me about this mysterious event. The day after Agathiyar in a Nadi reading for a couple confirms the movement and explains the reason too. All the Siddhas had made their presence on that day, causing the ground to move.

Venkatesh Swami who was taking care of the needs of Krishnaveni Amma of Kalyana Theertam shared many stories with Jnana Jhotiamma. It seems Krishnaveni Amma would wash and dry her clothing outside her ashram when the ever playful Lord Muruga would go over to the clothesline and pull down all the linen that she had hung to dry. As the clothing would get soiled Amma would give chase with her walking stick and Muruga would laugh mischievously as he ran away from her.

Many similar stories have been depicted in the Bhakti films from India too, where the divine comes to play games with his/her devotees. What was shown in celluloid and was hearsay soon began to materialize right in front of our eyes. You can deceive a person but how can you decive the eyes of many at the same time?

Agathiyar sent me off to Malaysia after my very first maiden pilgrimage to India in 2003 with a reminder that he would perform many more miracles on our shores. He kept his word. Everyday is a miracle. There is a miracle to share each day.

When Sri Krishna and Arul sent off our guests Kugan and Kogie to board their plane to South Africa, little did the couple know that the four wheel drive was on the brink of stalling as its tank was nearing empty. As they were already late to check in, Krishna pushed Arul to hit the gas mentioning that the divine shall take care. To their amazement the fuel gauge that logically goes down as we travel more distance hit its peak! There was sufficient petrol to make the trip back!

When Muralitharan Samynathan and I drove to Brickfields on a Friday afternoon during the long lunch break, it was hot. The moment we turned into the road leading to the restaurant it began to pour. As there was no vacant parking lot Murali drove his four wheel drive on the pavement in front of the Sri Sakthi Karpaga Vinayagar temple. As we waited for the rain to stop we spoke about many things. Time went by and the rain did not look like it will stop or at least lessen its intensity. That is when I pointed out to him that Agathiyar was in the temple in the form of a bronze statue. He immediately gave me a sarcastic look and ask, "What! Do you think Agathiyar is going to bring you an umbrella?" Almost immediately a man who was all the while standing in front of the restaurant some distance away walks towards us with an open umbrella. We thought that he was on his way somewhere. To our surprise he came up to my side of the window, and knocked on the glass. As Murali lowered the powered window, he told us, "Come" inviting us to come under his umbrella. He brought us straight to the restaurant. We both looked at each other speechless as we took our sit and ordered our meal. We ate in silence and drove back in silence too!

Lord Muruga has provided readings for the AVM/Pothihai Tharma Chakkram family that is mesmerizing. He has accepted all the Puja and Dharma and has elevated all simultaneously to another level of understanding, the one of total submission to his wills. Giving us two oars to row called Puja and Dharma, he came as the boatman with his Noah's Ark and is taking us on a journey back to his abode. We are indeed blessed.

He lifted the veil to reveal this world as his stage and all Shakti's play. He made us understand that everything is an ongoing process; that all is in a state of change at any particular moment in time. This is the world of Sakthi, of movement. The moment all movement subsides we automatically settle into the world of Shiva, absolute silence.
