A guru's purpose is to teach. Agathiyar, in coming to us, stressed this, for otherwise one shall do injustice to the knowledge earned or gifted or given. Although I had all the ingredients to take up astrology and Siddha Vaidyam, or medicine and its practice, as Dr.Krishnan pointed out, with him volunteering to teach, I opted to self learn and practice what was learned for my own consumption. When Agathiyar wanted to gift me with the Nadi for my use and others, and began to heal others using me, I turned it down. When he moved me to bring the shutters on Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM) and asked to move his statue to the home of another devotee, I was not the least moved. I could bring myself to let go easily. Finally, he offered to make me a guru. But I guess I am not here to teach for Agathiyar, who asked if he should make me a guru, immediately retracted the asking, and told me that he would make me a Siddha instead. For this to take place, I had to even let him go, for he asked how else we could become one. He was bringing me from Dvaita to Advaita. His last directive was for me to know the Atma and Sivam. Knowing the Atma is to know that we were never separated from day one, as he tells me that we had known each other for crores of years. The sense of separation was, in fact, Maya veiling the truth. It's only as long as we are in Dvaita that talk about letting go matters. Knowing that in Advaita there is only existence, is knowing Sivam. The Journey has come to an End.
As for the question of why Agathiyar chose a humble householder for his purpose, and his home to become the epicenter to host his divine play has come to be answered. Agathiyar said that, as I had unknowingly and unconsciously desired it, he had to fulfill my desire. Then my purpose that of a Catalytic Spiritual Teacher was revealed through a reading of the "Spiritual Numerology of Moses," or better known as the "Soul Contract Reading". Agathiyar came to endorse this reading later and told me that he had now prepared me to fit the role. I was asked to come out of my cocoon and take up my purpose as revealed. He asked me how he was to depend on one person to do his work. He had to raise everyone to come to the state where they carry out his work.
As I had no idea what or who a Catalytic Spiritual Teacher was, Teal Swan's articles at https://tealswan.com/resource, gave a detailed description of the term "A Spiritual Catalyst".
"A Spiritual Catalyst is a person who precipitates an event or a change on the level of spirit (the essential, incorporeal part of someone or something). Spiritual Catalysts, like gurus, have attained a high level of spiritual authority, awareness, and knowledge, which enables them to guide others. Spiritual Catalysts, however, do not aim to become “Leaders” to their disciples as much as they wish to cause their disciples to question and find answers within themselves. It is the firm belief of a Spiritual Catalyst that if a person is caused to initiate their own exploration on the level of spirit, that person will then become the conscious leader of their own life. It is also the belief of a Spiritual Catalyst that if a person becomes the conscious creator and leader of their own life, that their life will inevitably become a kind of living enlightenment; thereby allowing that person to live in a continuous state of internal peace and joy."
True to the definition, "Spiritual Catalysts, however, do not aim to become 'Leaders' to their disciples as much as they wish to cause their disciples to question and find answers within themselves", as I refused to hang on to these offers, Agathiyar had them vaporized. Nothing remains of the past except fond memories. I did not fall for the game of Maya that Lord Siva initiated with Agathiyar, having Lord Indra draw the dice, thanks to Lord Murugan, who came to warn me to watch my steps in the nick of time. I saw through the divine game and came out unscathed.
