THANK YOU

I have stepped into my sixties. My AVM family surprised me with a cake that they arranged for me to cut during the recent 108 Nei Deepam Yetrum Vizha or Lighting of 108 Ghee Lamps event at the Sri Mayuranathar Alayam, Srimath Pamban Swamigal Thirukovil.

I was surprised further when Thiru and Thirumathy Maheswaran fetched Thava Thiru Kumara Swamy Aiya from the Agathiyar Ashram in Anuvavi, Tamil Nadu, India, who was bound for Penang to conduct his regular Free Ayurvedic and Holistic Therapy Service, from the airport to the temple to lead us on with the prayers and bless all those present. Swamiji is a regular among Malaysian's bringing his knowledge of Siddha and Ayurveda, rituals and Siddha prayers to our shores.

Then we had Thiru Subramaniam Purushothman Aiya come out off his retirement to render several soul stirring devotional songs at the temple with a guest singer, Thiru Babu Loganathan, son of the late playback singer Trichy Loganathan.

Thiru Babu Loganathan (left) and Thiru Supramaniam Purushothman Aiya

To top it all up we had a gentlemen drop by the temple and roped us all in on his tree sapling planting campaign, his 1208th event in temple grounds.

The grand finale was when the divine told us to worship the Aganda Deepam which he said was equivalent to worshiping him, reminding us of Ramalinga Adigal's last message to his followers before shutting the door to his room in Sitthivalagam in 1874, only to be seen again in the mortal frame in 1902 when he came back to give darshan to his foremost disciple Kalpattu Aiya and subsequently placed him in Samadhi after Kalpattu Aiya upon seeing him merged with him.

What else can someone ask for as a birthday present? Thank you Lord. Thank you AVM family.

CARRYING OUT THE DIVINE WILL

The Siddhas have guided us well since we took up their worship. Agathiyar extended an invitation to come to his path. The Siddhas gave guidance through numerous Nadi readings for all AVM family members. They sent Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal of Kallar Ashram over to guide us in the physical form. Dhanvantri tells us that Tavayogi who has attained Samadhi will continue to guide us in the subtle form.

Tavayogi began performing a huge Yagam/ Yagna to please Mother Nature and tone down the velocity of her beatings on the earth and its inhabitants. Soon he included the rituals to help heal the suffering, misfortunes, illnesses and bring prosperity and bliss to the devotees who participated.

Taking the cue from Tavayogi, we did a Homa, a smaller version of the Yagna, in our homes. With Erai's grace, we moved on to perform the ritual in temples too. Tavayogi and Thava Thiru Kumara Swamy Aiya from the Agathiyar Ashram in Anuvavi, Tamil Nadu, India have guided us well in performing these rituals, giving us the courage to continue in their footsteps. So did the Siddhas bring us to perform rituals for the good of humanity and to reduce the wrath of nature.

Agathiyar has been encouraging many to perform these rituals. We read about his directive at https://siththanarul.blogspot.com/
Thondu Seivom and AVM carried out its 4th Annual Event of Lighting of the Ghee Lamps recently. To our surprise the Chairman of the Sri Mayuranathar Alayam, Srimath Pamban Swamigal Thirukovil, extended an invitation to us to carry out a Siddha Puja, Abhisegam and Yagam. We were only too pleased to accept the invitation and began to work towards it.

Agathiyar in a Nadi reading read to Suren of AVM who was on a working stint in Chennai, encouraged us to carry out the Puja.

Sri Tamaraiselvan Aiya guided us further on Agathiyar's directive, giving us numerous yantras and mantras to draw out and worship. He fine tuned the ritual of lighting the Aganda Deepam and other lamps. AVM is indebted to him for guiding us further.

At the end of the prayers, the Siddhas acknowledge acceptance of the rituals done and explained that natural calamities cannot be rid entirely but the rituals and worship of the Aganda Deepam by us has helped reduce the damage that otherwise would be extensive. The Siddhas told us that it would not suffice to light the Aganda Deepam outside but to light it within us too. Besides the Aganda Deepam blessing us, the Siddhas told us of the blessings we received from the presence of the divine both in the physical form and in its subtle form.

The blessings and endorsement coming our way from the Divine has truly added an appropriate finale to the event. This would moot us to carry out these events even better next year and the year after at the same venue as directed by the Siddhas.

NEI DEEPAM YETRUM VIZHA

The Nei Deepam Yetrum Vizha was held today at the Sri Mayuranathar Alayam, Srimath Pamban Swamigal Thirukovil in Dengkil and simultaneously at the Sadhananda Swamigal Ashram, Perungalathur, Chennai.

It was a day of total surprises for us at AVM. The divine took charge of all matters even as we planned the whole event well to the minutest details.

When Bala Chandran, Mahin and me went over to scout out the suitability of holding the event at the Sri Mayuranathar Alayam, Srimath Pamban Swamigal Thirukovil, we were greeted by strong winds. A fear crept in us as to how we were going to light the lamps with the strong winds that prevailed in the venue. The temple chairman gave us the courage to go ahead telling us that the winds shall not blow during the lighting. Sure enough there was no wind during the lighting of the lamps. The wind began to blow as we began to plant trees. The wind turned strong bringing in heavy showers only in the late afternoon after the puja was over and many had left.

As we looked around as to how to fit all the events that is performing the Homa, the Abhisegam and lighting the lamps, all within the Yaaga Saalai, we figured that it would be rather a tight fit. But today as we stepped into the place to begin preparations for the event we realized to our surprise that the space was large and that we would have ample space to carry out all three activities. Amazing.

Erai brought the event to another level, with the surprise arrival of Thava Thiru Kumara Swamy Aiya from the Agathiyar Ashram in Anuvavi, Tamil Nadu, India. Swamiji led the prayers.

Another surprise that was in store for us was the planting of sacred trees that was spearheaded by a dedicated devotee of Swami Sri Gnanananda Giri and Swami Haridhos Giri.

A third surprise was in store for us when Thiru Babu Loganathan, son of the famous playback singer Trichy Loganathan rendered several devotional numbers with Thiru Subramaniam Purushothman Aiya.

The final surprise was that the divine willed that we carry out a similar puja next year and the year after at the same premises.

It was indeed a day of surprises.

THE 4TH NEI DEEPAM YETRUM VIZHA

Come join us in an event where we light ghee lamps at the Sri Mayuranathar Alayam/ Srimath Pamban Swamigal Thirukovil in Dengkil, Selangor, Malaysia this Saturday 15 September 2018. Agathiyar Vanam Malaysia (AVM) with the secretariat Thondu Seivom (TS) and financial assistance from Amudha Surabhi (AS) and Persatuan Teman Setia (PTS) in collaboration with the Mayuranathar/ Pamban Swamigal temple committee have joined hands to come together to carry out this auspicious program.

Initiated by Bala Chandran Gunasekaran of TS in 2015, the event was carried out in a modest scale lighting 108 ghee lamps at the Batu Cave Murugan Temple. Last year we amplified our prayers by lighting 1008 lamps.

This year we have switched the venue to the Sri Mayuranathar Alayam/ Srimath Pamban Swamigal Thirukovil in Dengkil. This temple has been the venue where we had previously conducted a grand event for Agathiyar and later another prayer to invoke the blessings of Lord Muruga.

We are amazed at the many mysterious turn of events that took place leading to this big day. When we arrived at the Sri Mayuranathar Alayam/ Srimath Pamban Swamigal Thirukovil to meet its chairman, not only did he allow us the temple grounds to carry out our activity, he invited us to carry out a Siddha puja including lighting the yagam and performing the abhisegam for Agathiyar, Arunagirinathar and Pamban Swamigal. We were delighted to receive his blessings to carry out the program.

Moving on to discuss the details and planning further, I invited Agathiyar Geetham album fame Vinthamaray to ask if her father Thiru Subramaniam Purushothman Aiya would render a few songs during the event. He kindly consented. She is going to surprise us with a guest singer who shall join her and her father. Gowri Arumugam who produced the album will render a track from the album at this event too.

With a string of events lined up for the day, we are eagerly looking forward for the day. We have had very good response already. We are truly blessed and feel honored for the divine guidance and aid of the Siddhas.

THE AKASHIC RECORDS REVISITED

It is said that for each discovery and invention on the face of the earth, the idea or its original or prototype in some cases was already existing in the plane of the mystics and we are tapping the blueprints. We are told that many discoveries are made with assistance from the Siddhas, Angels, Heavenly Souls and others.

Are we then living out a life that has already been mapped out in another plane much earlier?

Dr Amir Farid Isahak wrote two wonderful pieces explaining the Akashic records and the Nadi in his regular column in a local daily many years back. These pieces were also posted in his webpage at www.superqigong.com/articlesmore.asp?id=131.

Akashic Energy - The Star, Sunday September 9, 2007
ONE of the most amazing phenomena I have ever come across is that of the Akashic records or Nadi astrology. Akashic records are records of your life - past, present and future, written by Sidhas over 10,000 years ago. The records are written on wooden Nadi leaves and are read by trained readers.

My first exposure to this was nine years ago, when I first met my Kundalini Master Jagath Guru Mahan Paranjothiar (www.universalpeacefoundation.org) during his visit to Kuala Lumpur. I actually did not know what to expect, as I only went there to pay my respects to a great spiritual master. Before meeting Guruji, I was asked to meet Swaminathan, one of his disciples.

Uir Nadi

Swaminathan is a gifted Uir Nadi reader. When the reading started, the subject's Akashic records would appear in Sanskrit on a shiny metal plate, but only he could see the writings! Even though he could speak English very well, in order not to disturb his concentration and flow, he had another disciple interpret for me. When he started reading my past, it was all accurate. In addition, when the reading of my future was done, I was stunned. After the reading, Swaminathan kissed my hand and called me - Guruji!

When I was introduced to the real Guruji, he surprised me and his senior disciples who were in the room when he said that he had traveled the whole world looking for me. When I told him that just six months previously my Sufi master had come all the way from New York also looking for me (I had not known either of them before) to tell me about my spiritual mission, he smiled and said that they both received instructions from the same GOD! Both of them also said that my son would continue my spiritual work. My son's name is exactly the same as my first Sufi Shaykh's, Muhammad Nazim Adil Al-Haqqani.
Facinated by the Nadi leaves the Dr began to investigate it further. He went for a reading.
It was explained to me that from the time of creation, everything already had its energy imprint and that the Sidhas had knowledge of this imprint and were able to know almost everything about every individual ever born and to be born into this world. Akasha actually means the inner mind or super conscious realm that merges with the cosmic realm that contains all the information about the past, present and future. The Sidhas had the ability to access this information by their faith and practices.

As a Muslim, this is not foreign to me, as GOD had told the Prophet (peace be upon him): When my servants are close to me, then my ears become their ears, and My eyes become their eyes. (From Hadis Qudsi, meaning that those who are close to GOD will have access to knowledge that is not available to others.)
The Dr who being a medical specialist, practices holistic, aesthetic and anti-ageing medicine too and is a qigong master and founder of Super Qigong, relates the Nadi to his teachings.
In energy healing, nadi refers to the channels through which the life force (prana or qi) flows, interspersed by the chakras (energy centers). It is estimated that there are about 72,000 nadis traversing the inner body.
The Nadi leaves referred here are the channels of information to the entire human race. If they take the good advice, they can live in peace and harmony. Therefore, the Nadi leaves are important for the health of humanity, since they carry advices and remedies for our physical, emotional and spiritual problems.
Dr Farid explains the various forms of prediction and delivery of the Akashic records.
Muslims are not allowed to go to fortunetellers because we are to do our best, pray for divine assistance, and then accept that whatever happens is predetermined, and good in the eyes of GOD. To go to fortunetellers may cause the person to believe in what is being predicted, at the risk of losing sight of the fact that it is GOD who determines everything, including our future.
The subject of fate and destiny is something very complex and confusing to most. While everything is already written down, not everything is revealed by GOD, even to the Prophets, Saints, and Sidhas. With his permission, these chosen people do get accurate information about the future, and the information can be in detail. That is why all Prophets made prophesies, as part of the signs of prophet hood, and as guidance and warnings to their followers and all humanity. The Saints and Sidhas also are given similar gifts of prophesy, although at a less significant level and power compared to prophets.
There are fortunetellers, psychics, clairvoyants, modern-day prophets, bomohs, sinsehs and other traditional soothsayer who predict and prophesies with varying accuracies. Their source is the lowest realm of the cosmic database. Some even predict 4-digit numbers accurately, which goes to show that this realm is accessible to anyone who ventures in, for good use or for gambling and black magic. It is also the realm that dark spirits have absolute access to.

Akashic records are at a higher realm, available only to those who are destined to know their future. If you go for your reading, be assured, you record is there. If you never go for your reading, be assured the Sidhas did not waste their time writing about someone who was never going to have his record read. Even children's records are read by their parents in preparation for their future upbringing. There have been over 10 billion humans since the first man (Adam for some of us), and the Sidhas have written for all those who will go to have their readings done, until the end of time.
When I was part of the editorial team for the departmental bulletin at my office, I came across a wonderful piece on our past records that I found on the net. I used it in the bulletin.

In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in a room. There was no distinguishing features save for the one wall covered with small index-card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endlessly in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read "People I Have Liked".

I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one.
And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.
This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory could not match.  A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.
A file named "Friends" was next to one marked "Friends I Betrayed." The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird: "Books I Have Read", "Lies I Have Told", "Comfort I Have Given", "Jokes I Have Laughed At."
Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: "Things I Have Yelled At My Brother." Others I could not laugh at: "Things I Have Done In Anger", "Things I Have Murmured Under My Breath At My Parents."
I never ceased to be surprised by the contents. Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped.
I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my 30 years to write each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.
When I pulled out the file marked "Songs I Have Listened To", I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I had not found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of music, but more by the vast amount of time I knew that file represented.
When I came to a file marked "Lustful Thoughts", I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size, and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content. I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal age broke in me. One thought dominated my mind. "No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room!" In an insane frenzy I yanked the file out, its size did not matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards, but as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it. Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.
And then I saw it.
The title bore "People That I Have Taught About Allah." The handle was brighter than those around it, newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand. And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that the hurt started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. Must lock it up and hide the key!"
The above piece was published in June of 1998. Today after twenty years, I see the similarity of this room with that of the Nadi readers. Here too is housed shelves of Nadi, old palm leave recordings of individuals, that are revealed when one seeks and looks for his when the time is right. I believe the Kaanda Nadi is a written record of each individual's file in this room where the Akashic Records are stored while the Jeeva Nadi is the reading of these records in real time. The Siddhas hold the key to his room. They can sometimes refuse access to your records asking you to perform small rituals or prayers first before they reveal it to you. There are some who came and left empty handed. There are individuals who were refused a reading too.

I was allowed entry into this room in 2002. The revelation was astounding. I was left speechless. The Nadi reader took my thumb print and came in with three stacks of Nadi leaves, each stack binded with a single long string and had a couple of wood one at the top and another at the bottom to protect its contents from damage, as in the books with hardcovers.

A year later when I chanced to meet my very first Guru Supramania Swami in Tiruvannamalai, he connected with the Akashic plane and revealed so much information for a solid five hours, keeping me engaged and in tears. What amazed me further was that he could reveal the exact things mentioned by Agathiyar in my Nadi reading without me having disclosed or shared my Nadi with him.

Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal too acknowledged that it was possible to connect with these records in meditation, having come to know of his past births through this means. He brought out stacks of Nadi in his keeping and showed them to me when I was visiting his Ashram for the very first time in 2005. In later years he came to read the Jeeva Nadi himself. Today Mataji Sarojini Ammaiyar provides a reading in the footsteps of her guru.

I guess as for now, folks like us, have to depend on the Siddhas and their Nadi for a clue to what is going on in our lifes. As a friend mentioned last evening that it was a boon to have come to know the Siddhas and their Nadi as they are continuously guiding us to make the right decisions, motivating us in our times of despair, bringing us to share our wealth with others, bringing us to serve the unfortunate and living a fulfilling and worthy life. He quipped that it also gave him the shivers when he is called in for a Nadi reading these days for the Siddhas do at times take us to task for our refusal to listen just as our parents and teachers do.

THE GRACE OF AGATHIYAR

Today I stand before your dear Agathiya, humbled by your teachings, hands folded in submission to you, not having any desires, nor plans, and ready to listen to your dictate for the next task. How can I pay back to you for all the great things you have showered on this soul?

Witnessing all the things that take place around and within me, often I tend to question "Who are you?"

Yes, who are you? Just as Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal and Gowri Arumugam had penned the line "Yarappa Nee Konjum Sollappa" for the song "Karunai Vizhiyal" from the album "Agathiyar Geetham", this question pops up in all over conversations these days. We are amazed at witnessing all of your doings and how you have come to be a part and parcel of our lives.

When I came to you in the beginning, I had to depend on the organizations affiliated to you and the materials published by them for guidance.

I had to rely on books that were scarcely available then for further information on you and your path. Flipping through the numerous books on you, I find the same information duplicated again and again.

When I do a search about you on the net now, with this wonderful medium, I find the same repetitious pieces of news, often copied and pasted and shared over and over again.

Many have churned out the same episodes supposedly from your life story year upon year, from blog to blog and from book to book. Often I have questioned the originality and authenticity of these pieces.

The learned having read through your scriptures tell us many things relating to you that are beyond common logic and beyond my understanding.

If at all someone can provide me with a clear and correct explanation about these verses, it has to be the author himself - which is you. Only you can tell us what you meant in these scriptures of yours. Any translation by another would not justify your marvelous work, and be at risk of having the translator understand and interpret wrongly and the possibility of being his opinion too.

So how can I know you unless you reveal yourself to me? Although I am grateful to you for sharing bits and pieces of the grand puzzle through the Nadi often at the most appropriate moments when we desperately needed answers to our doubts and questions, but can't you relate the whole story in full, giving us a complete picture on creation, life, the soul, the spirit and numerous other matters?

Although you have mentioned to us, "Of what use is that knowledge to you?" to several of our inquisitive and probing questions, I pray that hopefully some day you shall share your life story with me too so that I, in return for your kindness, can share it on this blog for all to know.

In a lighter vein, anyone who shared their story with me is quick to add, "Please do not put it up on your blog."

For one who had lots of bookish knowledge on religion and spiritualism, you made me drop the baggage of accumulated knowledge at the nick of time, saving me from going berserk and cuckoo. Fearing all the passion and extreme devotion I carried with me, would do me more harm rather then good, you removed me from the existing and conducive environment by transferring me to the city and to an adverse environment, forcibly making me discontinue all the rituals and practices that I had engaged in earlier. You found me a wonderful life mate, someone who would be devoted to you too in the years to come.

After a cooling off period of 14 long years, you came back into my life through Vasudeva's mantra and having me worship Dhakshanmurthy and Mother Goddess in all her three forms, promising me that I shall meet my Guru in a years time. I am grateful to you for coming to me in disguise and passing on your blessings in the confines of my small home that fateful day, Saturday 6 October 2001. Today as I recall this and more events, I am reminded of Nakirar's yearning in his "Vinayagar Thiruagaval", to just sit in silence with his Guru in solitude and absorbing him.

Although there was no explanation given for the whole mysterious happening that day, I soon received answers when I happened to come across this Vasudeva mantra being mentioned in an article on the net. It was an extract from an English translation of "Kriya Yoga Vijnan - The Science of Kriya Yoga", the original by Saint Lahari Mahasaya.
Lahari Mahasaya has named this Sadhana Omkar Kriya. This is essentially a pranayama and the basis is the Vasudeva mantra. The Sastras have propounded that the Vasudeva mantra is an omniscient mantra. When a sadhaka starts comprehending his awareness as one with the mantra then he becomes omniscient himself. Then his attainment shall be - I am this omniscient Vasudeva. In the Gita it is stated in the very last of all births, the man of wisdom worships me, realizing that all is Vasudeva. Rare indeed is the soul. Then do namaskar to the self.
In "The Hidden Mysteries of Kundalini", Jain Publishers, New Delhi, 2001, R Venu Gopalan, explains that this mantra is recited for balancing the Vishnu Granti.
This is the Maha mantra of Lord Krishna. Its benefits are as follows: The nadis of the heart chakra is cleansed. It balances the heart chakra. Continuous practice of this meditation on this mantra helps in purification of the thinking process. It also helps in dissolving all the past karmic deeds for a better future. The Vishnu Granti adds obstructions for the sadhaka keeping one under the wraps of attachment, bondage, leading to the process of selfishness and supra ego.
In a book on Saint Dhruva meant for young readers, it is mentioned that this mantra was given to Dhruva by Saint Naradar who initiated Dhruva into the mysteries of yoga and meditation leading to Samadhi. Naradar taught Dhruva the practice of pranayama by inhaling, exhaling, and holding the breath. He taught Dhruva to overcome thought fluctuations with the help of breath control. Naradar also taught Dhruva to meditate on Vishnu in the sanctuary of his heart repeating the Lord‘s name mentally and offer prayers and worship. He advised Dhruva to go to Madhuvana for tapas because it was a sacred place where vibrations prevailed, which would help him in his sadhana and Samadhi.

Little did I realize that in years to come I too shall visit various pilgrimage spots to experience the presence of the Siddhas upon your advise through the Nadi. Neither did I foresee that one day Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal would reveal to me a similar Pranayama practice at his Kallar ashram.

You showed me my very first and very own Guru, Supramania Swami exactly a year after, through yet another series of mysterious turn of events. Driving my wife to suggests a horoscope reading for my daughter just as I was about to get on the cab to the airport for my flight to India; bringing the appointed chauffeur to fall sick and replacing him with Devendran; bringing my maiden pilgrimage to India to an end a day earlier; having Devendran bring me to meet his uncle for the said horoscope reading; and on the pretext of charting a horoscope, leading me to my Guru, an astrologer and a householder, Supramania Swami - a Gnani, a disciple of Yogi Ramsuratkumar, Poondi Mahan, Kollimalai Swami, Santhanantha Swami and his own father Jayaram Pillai.

You had Supramania Swami ignite the flame of devotion in me 15 years back. I am grateful that Supramania Swami could spend those 5 hours of bliss with me, on that day, Thursday 11 September 2003. I am reminded again of Nakirar's yearning in his "Vinayagar Thiruagaval", to just sit in silence with his Guru in solitude and absorbing him.

Then you sent Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal over to my shores to nurture the flame in me, keeping it burning over the past 13 years. I am grateful that Tavayogi had the time to see me that blissful day in August of 2005. Soon I was to meet him often and spend more valuable and treasurable moments that again remind me of Nakirar and his bid.

I remember how you personally took charge of my life too although you had sent two wonderful Gurus along. After the 14 years of exile (vanavasam), I shiver to think how you came to acclaim me (atkondai) through my nephew and Vasudeva's mantra.

I remember your invitation to come to your path in my very first Nadi reading. I remember how painstakingly you revealed my past and its hidden secrets. I recall all those revelations and reasoning you gave for all that was taking place and had taken place till then. I am grateful to you for having the time to see me that day, on 14 December 2002, again another fateful day.

I am grateful to all the guidance from you in the Nadi, some 52 personal Nadi readings, where you mentioned the ways and means, the remedies and atonement, and repayment for setting right the scale of justice and to help me come out of my past karma and the life changing and useful advice on what I was to avoid doing further to break the endless chain of karma.

I am grateful to you for introducing the ritual of lighting the sacrificial fire or homa that helps contain or rid ones karma, removes obstacles, heals the sick, and extends the lifespan, in my home, through a directive from Tavayogi.

I am grateful to you for having come into my life as a murthi or beautiful statue, gracing my home and blessing us, finally opening your eyes in this statue, beyond our expectation and beyond all reasoning and logic.

I am grateful to you for all the numerous episodes that took place in my life and that of others, that served as little pointers and a lesson and a learning curve too, again serving as a reminder to me not to indulge or covert, pine for, and desire for them.

I am grateful to you for guiding me with simple techniques, lessons and practices along the way, preparing this body and mind to receive further blessings. Although you only very briefly mentioned them in the Nadi readings, but you provided for more information regarding them through other avenues and means.

I remember vividly the very first yogic practice you gave me that was the Nadi Sudhi, that brings clarity and clears the nasal channel, keeping the body fit to receive further practices. I learnt that the Siddhas recommend this practice that purifies the nerves through alternate nostril breathing. Once the nerves are purified then pranayama can be performed efficiently. Swami Vivekananda in his book, "Raja Yoga - Conquering the Internal Nature", Advaita Ashrama, Calcutta, 1998, guides us on Nadi Sudhi,
Stopping the right nostril with the thumb, through the left nostril fill in air, according to capacity; then, without any interval, throw the air out through the right nostril, closing the left one. Again inhaling through the right nostril eject through the left; practicing this three or five times at four hours of the day, before dawn, during midday, in the evening, and at midnight, in fifteen days or a month purity of the nerves is attained; then begins pranayama.
Swami Rajarshi Muni too recommends alternate nostril breathing as did Swami Vivekananda.
This is considered a powerful exercise in creating pranaprabalya, or the strengthening of prana, as well as the purification of the nadis. The more pranayama is done, the more prana is stored in the kanda.
Rajarshi clarifies further,
… prana travels through the subtle body by means of subtle channels known as Ida and pingala. These subtle channels, like the gross air passage, have their upper ends at the openings of the left and right nostrils. However, they do not end up in the lungs like the respiratory system of the gross body. Instead they run down to a bulbous subtle structure (kanda) situated about three inches below the navel of the gross body.
R. Venu Gopalan explains in his book, "The Hidden Mysteries of Kundalini",
The origin of the nadis is called kanda. All the important nadis emerge from this astral centre and do the major activity of carrying the prana.
B. K. S. Iyengar in his "Light on Pranamaya", HarperCollins Publishers, India, 2004, says,
The practice of pranayama helps to cleanse the nadis, which are tubular organs of the subtle body through which energy flows. The respiratory system is the gateway to purifying the body, mind and intellect. The key to this is pranayama.
Rajarishi says when prana is regulated and properly directed, it can charge the various parts of the body, purifying and rejuvenating them. He quotes the Yoga Chudamani Upanishad in his book "Yoga The Ultimate Attainment", Jaico Publishing House, 2004, explaining clearly the difference between oxygen intake and prana intake.
From prakriti's inexhaustible reservoir the human body draws prana for carrying out its biological functions throughout its lifespan. Prana is extracted from prakriti as subtle energy. When stored in the human apparatus, it acts as the essential power source for carrying out bodily functions. Oxygen is capable of sustaining only the gross body, while the vital force nourishes and sustains the subtle body. This vital force flows through the channels of the subtle body and can rejuvenate even the gross body, increasing its longevity.
In a footnote in his book "Autobiography of a Yogi", Self Realization Fellowship, 1990, Paramahansa Yogananda mentions that atoms and electrons are blind forces, while prana is relatively and inherently intelligent.
The pranic life-trons in the spermatozoa and ova, for instance, guide the development of the embryo according to a karmic design.
Offering the inhaling breath into the exhaling breath and offering the exhaling breath into the inhaling breath, the yogi neutralizes both breaths; thus he releases prana from the heart and brings life force under his control.
He mentions that a yogi's body loses its grossness after use of certain pranayama.

Dear Agathiya, of the many practices that you extolled that were carried out by your fellow Siddhas and the pranayama or breathing techniques you mentioned, reminding me that both Ganapathy and Buddha were great exponents in Vasi, I have only now come to learn of their inner meanings and benefits. For instance while watching a documentary "The Yogis of Tibet" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGKy2pN_d4k&index=201&list=WL&t=1046s I found out the inner value of these practices explained clearly by a Lama.
As an antidote to conquering very strong emotions we would resort to doing the 7 fold meditation. There are different wind energies inside a human person.
In one posture the wind that enables us to excrete waste enters the central nerve channel eliminating some of the negative emotions.
When you broaden your shoulders and sit upright the nerve or vein related to winds enter and get rid of ignorance.
When your neck is slightly bent downwards at an angle and you touch the top of your tongue on the palate the fire related wind dissipates desire.
When you lower your eye a bit so you almost see the tip of your nose the space related wind enters and gets rid of egocentric pride.
When you sit cross legged and remain in single pointed concentration water related wind enters and helps get rid of jealousy.
These postures are a very good method of getting rid of some of the negative emotions.
R. R Diwakar in his foreword to B K S Iyengar's "Light on Pranayama", HarperCollins Publishers, India, 2004, speaks about the various winds as detailed by the Lama.
.. In yoga, prana (in all its five aspects in man of prana, apana, vyana, udana and samana) is the very essence of the energizing principle of the animate and inanimate world. It pervades the whole universe. In addition, pranayama means the full control of that energizing principle in one's own being by a certain discipline. This discipline aims not only at good health, an equilibrium in the physical and vital energies, but also the purification of the whole nervous system in order to make it more capable of responding to the will of the yogi in controlling the sense urges, and in making the mental powers more subtle and sensitive to the call of the evolutionary urge, the higher divine nature in man.
Vivekananda stresses the importance of continuously working on these practices.
Simply listening to explanations and theories will not do. With practice, within a few days a little glimpse will come, enough to give one encouragement and hope. We shall gradually see the reasons for each exercise and what forces in the body are set in motion. All things will come to us, but it requires constant practice. No amount of reasoning which I can give you will be proof to you, until you have demonstrated it for yourselves. As soon as you begin to feel these currents in motion all over you, doubts will vanish, but it requires hard practice everyday.
True to his words I came to know "the reasons for each exercise and what forces in the body are set in motion" through my personal experiences that were further reinforced through further reading on the subject.

Vivekananda reminds us that the aim, the end, the goal of all this training is liberation of the soul and absolute control of nature. Man alone attains perfection, not even the Devas says the Swami. The human birth is necessary to free oneself. Hence he says that the body is the best instrument we have to achieve this purpose. Thus he stresses that the body has to be kept fit.

Swami Rajarshi Muni agrees with Vivekananda and Siddha Avvai and Sankara that the human body is the only fit vehicle for seekers who wish to tread the path of conscious spiritual evolution.

Now I understand fully how even those very simple and basic techniques if practiced without questioning, aids and helps us along the path mysteriously.

Yogi Ramacharaka in "The Science of Breath", W. & J. Mackay & Cg. Ltd., Chatham, 1903, says,
When the ego leaves the body, the prana, being no longer under its control, responds only to the orders of the individual atoms, or groups of atoms, forming the body, and as the body disintegrates and is resolved to its original elements each atom takes with it sufficient prana to enable it to form new combinations, the unused prana returning to the great universal storehouse from which it came.
Swami Rajarshi Muni has this advice,
So long as prana is restrained in the body, the soul does not leave the body. Then there is no fear of death. Hence one should practice the regulation of prana.
Looking back on our relationship and your teachings, I can only utter one word, "Nandri." I know pretty well that I do not deserve all these fine things in life. I know that it was given by you Agathiya. I am not worthy of all the kindness showered on me. But yet you kept on showering all your blessings. May all the good you gift upon me by channeled to all those in my AVM family too.

We are grateful to you for motivating us boosting our spirits, and keeping us on our feet. We are grateful to you for looking our our shoulders and carefully guiding us in our decisions and actions. We are grateful to you for keeping us completely out of harms way.

Now since I am deprived of seeing and holding the physical form of both my Gurus, having attained samadhi, you have assured me that both you and your Guru Supramaniar shall take over from here. How can I repay your kindness?

Today my AVM family looks towards me for guidance and blessings on their ventures after Tavayogi's demise. But what can I give them accept my prayers. Today I pray not for myself but for all these lovely souls. If at all I attain Erai's kingdom I would love to bring all of them along with me.

Aum Sivaya Agatheesaya Nama.

DARE TO BE BROKEN

The moment you lose yourself that is bliss, immaterial where you lose the self or what you are engaged in, be it in yoga, meditation or prayer or something else for that matter. Since the bliss derived from our senses is short lived, we are constantly reminded to switch our senses to that which would bring lasting and endless bliss. For instance when Tavayogi taught me certain breathing techniques, he asked that I prolong that state of bliss that accompanies these practices. The idea here is to extend that bliss for a long duration.

I am honored to walk this earth where once upon a time Agathiyar, Supramaniar and many Siddhas, gods and goddesses walked too. It is said that the Kailash mountains had seen the entire gods and goddesses assemble for the wedding of Lord Shiva to Parvathi. As a result there was instability and Agathiyar was requested to set out for the south where upon reaching the south the earth regained balance. Before leaving to carry out his task, Agathiyar hesitated for he would then be the only one left out from witnessing the grand event. However Lord Shiva grants that both Parvathi and he will appear to him as bride and groom, wherever he chooses to see them hence comforting him. And so it is said that Agathiyar traveled far and met many personalities and taught them while on his way south. Arriving at Agashiyampalli he wished to see the divine pair in the state of matrimony. As promised the divine appeared before him. Agathiyar took in the divine sight and was immersed in bliss. This state of his on seeing Lord Shiva and Parvathi then is the state of the idol of Agathiyar at this temple which is said to be the very first temple built for Agathiyar by Kuberan in the Kali Yuga. We at AVM are blessed to hear from Agathiyar reveal this information since the idol worshiped at AVM is a replica of him at Agasthiyampalli and portrays the state of Agathiyar on seeing the divine sight.

Each of us is divine in nature we are told. Call it Buddha, god particle, jivatma, etc that which is within us all, is kept alive and burning by love. When Betty J Eadie in her book "Embraced by the Light", was shown the earth from god's kingdom, Christ pointed out to her that the lights she saw from above were not street lights but the flame of love in each soul on the earth. He told her too that the brightest were those of mothers, who carried unconditional love for their children. This flame is fanned by love. The more love shown towards others the bigger the flame in us grows. This flame then consumes ones karma, illnesses, sufferings etc. This love slowly evolves into compassion that encompasses all of god's creation. Ramdas of Kerala who had a darshan and blessing of Bhagawan Ramana before he found a quiet spot to contemplate and meditate for days in the Arunachala hill, on coming out of his deep meditation, was so engulfed in love that he grabbed the very first person he came across, who happened to be a beggar. When the beggar absconded from the grasp of the awakened saint, in fear, Ramdas hugged a tree instead. He is a true guru who loves all of god's creation.

We are told by our ancestors that for each of us born there is a star that appears in the sky. The brightest were those of mahans and saints. We are told that a comet fell through the skies when Bhagawan Ramana left his mortal frame. A Swamiji, Swami Dayananda who kept to himself in the confines of his room whom Tavayogi and I met in Ooty, told me that the next time I came there he would have left his mortal frame and taken his place in the skies as a star.

If Ramalinga Adigal coined the maha mantra "Arutperun jhoti Arutperun jhoti Taniperung karunai Arutperunjhoti", directing his followers to light an oil lamp and worship the light, moments before leaving the mortal frame, he had spent his early years though in singing the praises of Lord Vinayagar, Lord Muruga, Ambal, Sri Rama and Sri Krishna, Lord Shiva and Nadarajah. He evolved tremendously through the short span of 51 years. Before leaving us he gave us the Arutperun jhoti mantra and told us that there were still other frontiers that existed and needed to be explored that were beyond our imagination, beyond words and beyond mention.

Tavayogi showed us the path of the Siddhas, one of many paths to Godhead. He pointed to us that Agathiyar was Erai through the phrase "Arul gnana jhothiye agathin jhothi taniperung kadavule agatheesar aavaar" giving him a name and form as depicted in his Kallar Ashram. Slowly he brought us to understand that Lord Shiva and Agathiyar were one. Then he mentioned that the very breath was Erai (Kadavul). Then he revealed that Agathiyar was light too. He made us not to be attached to form or name knowing pretty well that a particular form and name was only a tool for us to progress on the spiritual path at that point of travel. The forms change, and so do the names.

Agathiyar too asked me to worship Lord Ganapathy, Lord Shiva, the Siddhas and him. Then when I took the firm stand that was to see them all as one, he told me that was the right stand and approach to adopt. Lord Muruga says he and Agathiyar are one. Sri Raghavendra says he and Agathiyar are one. Then we are told that Agathiyar is feminine. Agathiyar says that he is the prapanjam and that the prapanjam is within him too.

What we need to understand is that a particular name and form is applicable for a certain sector of society and for that period in time for their speedy progress in the spiritual path of their choice. Just as everything created is in a state of change, some visible and others although not visible to our normal vision, nevertheless takes place every second, everything is in a state of change each second.

Come to this path with an open mind without preconceived notions and opinions. Come empty and let the Siddhas fill us in. You will be surprised how they shall break all the beliefs we have carried this far.

NEW VENTURES

Agathiyar has guided us well through the years, bringing us to carry out puja or rituals, occasionally guiding us on several yoga techniques, encouraging us to do charity and venture into publications and music. He has one more assignment for us that is to build a temple for Lord Muruga.

It is amazing to look back at all these tasks that he gave us which we managed to complete successfully to his satisfaction, with his blessings off course. He brought the right people together and removed the saboteurs. All these were only possible with his grace.

I for one was not a writer but he moved me to write often encouraging me on. This blog entries and several online books are the result of Agathiyar's grace on this soul. All these were only possible with his grace.

I for one was not into rituals but he made us carry out homa, lighting of the fire pit and abhisegam or libation to his statue. All these were only possible with his grace.

We were devotees who frequented the temples. Today he has brought us to perform Yagams or lighting of fire pits on a larger scale in these temples. The next Yagam will be held at the Sri Mayuranathar/ Pamban Swamigal temple in Dengkil on 15 September 2018. All these were only possible with his grace.

He has provided us well so that we can extend a hand to other unfortunate people.  All these were only possible with his grace.

He brought us together to write, compose, sing and release an album for him too. It was titled Agathiyar Geetham, a name given by a young devotee of his. He sent all the right people to work on his album, initiating the thought to Gowri Arumugam of Raagawave Production Malaysia through Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal of Kallar Ashram and complimenting her effort in subsequent Nadi readings and through blessings of living saints. Tavayogi was extremely impressed by the final product. So was Nadi Nool Aasan Taranibalan Aiya. A copy of the CD was presented to Ongarakudil Aasan Thavathiru Rengaraja Desigar by Suren during his recent visit to the kudil. All these were only possible with his grace.

Agathiyar never fails to impress us with his miracles and doings. We are looking forward to walk the path with him further.
