THE GURU DISCIPLE RELATIONSHIP

If we see an influx of seekers standing at the doors of Ashrams, Peedhams, centers, etc., wanting to be enlightened, there is something that most gurus don't tell us: that they need us more than we need them. I was surprised and puzzled when Supramania Swami pointed out that I was not doing Tavam, which I wondered how he knew, as he was in Tiruvannamalai and I was in Kuala Lumpur, and asked that I do it so that he could rise in his stature as a guru. Later in 2016, when Tavayogi came to Malaysia for the last time, he too pointed out that he was grateful to me for praising him and spreading his fame. If Supramania Swami told me that he had seen the Light or Jothi days before his Samadhi, Dhanvantri came and told us that Tavayogi had become Jothi too. Later, Agathiyar tells us that we had a hand in bringing him to this state with our continuous talk and praise of him. I guess this answers a devotee's question some years back as to why we should praise the Siddhas.

Then, in the conversation between Bhogar and Agathiyar, Bhogar was telling Agathiyar, if only he had a student like me. All this was incomprehensible until I figured out that the relationship between a student and a guru was two-way and not one-way, where only the student tends to gain something in the pact. Similarly, I am grateful to all the youths who came by after Bala Chandran brought them over to my home, after Agathiyar, in his Nadi reading in 2013, asked him to watch, participate in the Pornami Puja, and learn about the Siddhas.

We are indeed connected and dependent on one another to progress both in life and spiritually. If Neale Donald Walsch wrote in his books, "The Wisdom of the Universe" and his earlier books in the series "Conversation with God (CWG)" and his children's parable titled "The Little Soul and the Sun", adapted from his book 1 in the series, which drives home the fact, that we have known each other before as souls and have come to aid each other to evolve and progress spiritually, Agathiyar, too, tells me that we have known each other for crores of years and in giving mankind his 5 Tenets, he reveals the same that we are here to help each other evolve.

I suppose that if we are bonded to each other as parents and their children, siblings, life partners, and friends, similarly, we are also bonded with our gurus and vice versa. Agathiyar told me that I had an obligation towards Supramania Swami that was carried forward from a previous birth, hence the reason I met him and came under his wings briefly before Tavayogi came along to teach me to fly. I am indebted to my gurus.

Similarly, I am indebted to all those who have made my journey here, at least this time around, possible. Two souls who made an impact on my spiritual life need to be mentioned here - Bala Chandran and Mahindren. Both of them came, learned, picked up the tools, and began to conduct Siddha puja in their homes, bringing their family and friends into it too, becoming gurus themselves. I am proud and thankful to them, just as Supramania Swami and Tavayogi thanked me. These videos speak for themselves.
