Ramalinga Adigal invited his followers to step onto his path. Later he sang thousands of stanzas on the delight and joy he experienced in walking the path. Similarly Agathiyar invited me to his path through a nadi reading. Today I have him in my home as a bronze statue and in my heart as the jhoti or light. Besides lighting the sacrificial fire or homam externally, he invites us to fan the jhoti in us internally. What better way than to recite the songs of Ramalinga Adigal that brings bliss in us, joy to the soul and nourishes the spirit. Singing the songs of the Siddhas remind us today, how these verses have began to become true. We are experiencing the truth in these songs. Similarly Tavayogi once mentioned that just by listening to Ramalinga Adigal's Arutpa one can attain Jnana. We are beginning to see the truth in his words too. Whatever path we chose to journey, be assured that Erai will be waiting for us at the end of the road with the entire lineage of gurus that we chose to follow.
We at ATM have tried out numerous combinations of songs to be used at prayers, sometimes extending and sometimes shortening the duration. We always end up elevated and happy at having recited the songs. My granddaughter too has now joined us.
