TAKING BABY STEPS

As I took a stroll in the park with my grandson this morning the feeling in my crown came on and lasted for some time. As I key in this post it has come back. It is wet and cold. As I wonder what is taking place in me, another devotee who came over to AVM to conduct libation to Agathiyar's Murthy, shared her story of internal changes taking place within her. I was glad as I had a companion and a comrade as they were similar to a large extent.

I wish many more would come to realize this state of bliss. I wish I could share it with others with just a touch. But we all know that one has to place the effort towards reaching the goals, not those set by him but by the divine masters. He has to surrender in the very first place and let the divine fix his life. Upon surrender, the divine gives him remedies or parikara to carry out that would soften the hold of his past karma or dilute them. He is given practices and rituals to conduct to further crucify his past karma. He then takes on noble thoughts and actions that bring on fresh merits that then tip the scale and bring a balance to the scale. He then moves from action to inaction bringing a stop to even the accumulation of these merits further. He becomes passive and remains an observer and a watcher. Time and space stop. He becomes "It". If he moves it is because of the divine will. Every action of his henceforth is that of the divine. The divine shall heal him and extend his life so that he can serve His purpose. He becomes a Jeevan Mukta. No karma befalls him out of these actions for it is all willed by the divine.

WE ARE BLESSED INDEED 2

We are blessed to have our gurus shadow us and quickly change our course in event of impending danger or putting a temporary stop to our venture only to continue at another and right time. I have to reiterate again the dangers that luke if we carry out the spiritual practices on the path without a proper guru who could be reached at all times. Make sure the guru who initiates you into these powers is available to you whenever the need arises to refer to him on your progress or when problems crop up. Do not accept any initiation from a visiting guru whom you know you cannot meet again or call up for advice. I have seen way too many seekers and aspirants suffer as a result of these gurus' ignorance, ego, and stupidity. I was made aware last night by a friend that a 48-year-old housewife who was a sibling of another friend of ours, passed away after attempting to do a headstand in an online Yoga class. She had reported signs of dizziness and was admitted later but the doctors could not save her neither could the teacher who taught her and others online. She apparently had several medical issues and was on medication.

A seeker after leaving his home in search of masters who were big names in the industry and after having stayed and served in their ashrams returned home disappointed. Later he was initiated by someone locally with whom he had dropped out of favor as I came to know from his wife later. She accused him of having blocked his chakras purposely. I never knew a guru could do harm to his disciple until then.

Besides that, a visiting master touched his navel that brought on intense energy within on their very first meeting. They never met again. When unfamiliar and abnormal things began moving within he had nowhere to seek help. Hearing about Tavayogi's visit to my home he dropped in but never spoke about his misadventures in the spiritual line. He only opened the can of worms later to me in private. I was blamed by his wife that I had triggered an outpouring of lunacy and spiritual madness after I had passed on a Cd of Ramalinga Adigal's Agaval. I was baffled outright. Today after 15 years, I understand that the divine number had caused an eruption in him, bringing forth the pent-up energies that he had collected in the 25 years of search just as tourists collect souvenirs from the countries they visit. Agathiyar hauled him to my home and released this energy. I understood further that since his wife was not able to understand and help him through his spiritual endeavor further, Agathiyar had put a stop to his ventures. They are back to being one happy family. The day she comes to understand and gives the green light he shall continue from where he stopped. It saddens me that he was so close to hitting the target.

Another seeker who was initiated by a homebred master had energies moving within him and approached me for advice and healing. When I told him to seek out the master who brought on the mess, he replied that his master had become mad and was roaming the streets. He knocked on the doors of several establishments run in the name of the Siddhas but failed to find a cure. Finally, he told me he had lost faith in the Siddhas and went his way.

A seeker from Delhi messaged me telling me that having learned and put into practice the teachings of the various schools available he ended up with energy blockages. None of his masters could help him. He wondered if Tavayogi could help. I told him that I have never known Tavayogi to heal another. After 8 years he was still waiting for a remedy.

Recently another reader from Delhi called to ask if Agathiyar could help with the toothache that he had to endure the past year. I told him to see the dentist. He had seen but did not want to extract the tooth or go for a root canal surgery. Since he has had an initiation during one of those mass initiation events I asked him to refer to the master. He replied that the master was not accessible. I told him Agathiyar had bigger matters to attend to.

A lady who was seen as a right-hand man or rather woman and used to organize her master's events in her state and I used to exchange and talk about our respective gurus while her husband attends to repairs to my car. She fell out in favor after some time for reasons not made known to me. Soon she fell ill. I guess she could not go back to her former guru. One day she calls me up to ask if I was still in touch with Agathiyar and Tavayogi's Kallar ashram. She asks for ways to pray to the Siddhas. She has had some spiritual people drop in at her home. One told her that someone was waiting outside her house for an invitation from her to come in. The description given matched that of Agathiyar. Another told her that the Siddhas wanted her to come to their worship. Hence the reason she called.

Another visiting guru is seen felling seekers to the floor after placing his hand on their head and forehead like felling timber. But, for God's sake, there are elderly people in the midst. Are they prepared to take in these energies at that age? For all I know, their body might not be in top form and be a vehicle or vessel to take on these intense energies at that age. Unknowing to me, my chakras were activated by Agathiyar in a most subtle way recently. He came later to explain what took place. He tells me that generally, the body cannot take on the energy when chakra activation takes place late in life. This is what Tavayogi too had told me when I asked to see him merge in the light or Jothi. He told me that he had missed the boat as his age was then 69. It has to happen before 60 he said.

We were later surprised by a dream that came to a devotee residing in South Africa after Tavayogi's demise. She saw Tavayogi onboard a boat that was heading for an island where Siddhas, Rishis, and Munis were going about their chores. Who should steer the boat but Lord Shiva. Dhanvantri too came to console us telling us (contrary to Tavayogi's belief that he did not make the mark), that Tavayogi had merged in the light and shall henceforth guide us in that form. In his absense in the physical form Agathiyar has come to stand in for him.

We are grateful that the Siddhas are on hand to guide and look over our shoulders. What about these poor folks? Where would they go or turn to if the invocation and initiation of these energies run amok and do havoc and harm them? Do they have the Siddhas with them just as we have them at our sides? What happens after the initiator leaves the country? Will he be accessible to them in any way? Will he take responsibility for his actions?

It saddens me to see how many seekers and beginners, followers and devotees, aspirants and sadhakas on the spiritual path and the general public are being manipulated, by godmen who think that they are doing good but are in fact messing up others' lives, just to boost their ratings, publicity, viewership, fellowship, and numbers. Mahindren told me something that really made sense. If Ramalinga Adigal wanted to arouse anything for that matter in his followers he would have done that. So too the many saints of the past. We have never read about them giving initiation or activating energies en masse or for a price. It always happens between the guru and student away from the public eye. We learn of many gurus giving this initiation to potential candidates with their look, their touch, passing on mantras, etc on their very first meeting itself. But these gurus are a divine personification. They have the ability to see through the past karma of those who stand before them, verify their standing, and only then pass on this Sakti, knowing pretty well that the recipient is ready for the initiation and his body can take on the energy. The recipients in this case would have done their homework in past lives and were ready to continue from where they left off. And this transmission is always done one-to-one.

In other cases the guru follows us for some time, said to be 12 years according to Tavayogi, watching us closely if we have the qualities to make a good student and possibly a guru someday for their name is at stake. A failed guru and disciple will taint the good name of the lineage. Questions will arise as to how he was judged the right candidate among many to receive the highest order or award from their predecessors, gurus and the entire lineage. Nothing comes easy as far as these genuine gurus are concerned. They want us to place the effort, and carry out certain practices, and only then do they come to uplift us. There is no easy way out. It has always been that way. Neither did the Siddhas nor Tavayogi and Supramania Swami dish out mantras or initiations for the asking. Although Tavayogi gave whoever walked into the local Peedham, an initiation, it was not an energy transfer.

Some I came to understand to my shock and dismay later, are capable of siphoning our energies in the name of giving initiations. But that is an entirely different story. We shall keep that for another rainy day. Hence tread with utmost care and never surrender yourself to any stranger until you are convinced of their genuineness and divinity.

It is important that we submit our dues and surrender to one guru wholely. If we cannot bring ourselves to submit to another fellow human in the role of a guru, take the hands of the divine instead and build a relationship with him, first as a devotee and servant, and later after surrendering, as his slave. He shall come in the hours of our need and later be available 24/7 till the end.

Before parting, it saddens me to see devotees see Agathiyar only as a physician, a counselor, and an astrologer. They never saw him as the light that leads us from darkness and ignorance. They never saw him as the guide to Jnana or spiritual wisdom. They never saw him as the Paramatma from whom we came to be.

WE ARE BLESSED INDEED 1

Watching the movie "Within the Whirlwind" reminds us to cherish and appreciate the freedom we have. Watching another movie "Chances Are" reminds us to let go. So have many other movies given us pertinent lessons to go by. Goddess Ma when she came the first time and addressed us surprisingly spoke about the Siddhas path that we were traveling telling us that the path was one of gaining experiences and learning lessons from it. Yesterday she came again and conveyed the message that our gurus were delighted with the service we accorded to them and our role in enhancing their fame. She then pointed out to us that Agathiyar was in joy. True enough we could see his teeth in the grin on his face in the Murthy at AVM.

This is how close we have come to being with them. And it all started with our home puja and the recitation of their names which invited them into our homes to, first, visit and later to stay for good. Bringing our search to an end these days they come to deliver the much sought-after treasures by many in the confines of our homes.

I had phlegm build up excessively in me since 8.9.2022 after my train journey back from my wife's hometown, only God knows from where it was manufactured. I knew it as a continuous process of expelling the excess in the three dosas. Seeing my plight, Goddess Ma collected the Holy waters of the Ganges that streams from the tresses of Lord Shiva, into Agathiyar's kamandalam, or drinking vessel, and had me drink it telling me that it shall rid and purge the remaining dosas. What a marvel.

If anyone had told me all these happened in his life in the past I would have listened with disbelief and moved on. But when it happens in your life you cannot brush it off as a hallucination or mind play. So when a reader of this blog came along to place me through clinical trials and prove that I was hallucinating I told him I shall not be a subject of his experiment and instead told him to carry out all that I did to arrive at a conclusion rather than try to prove his hypotheses right.

You have to walk the path to discover its secrets. There is no other way to do it. Leaning on others' experiences or learning from theirs gives us only knowledge but not the joy and pain that comes with these experiences. These days we can connect much with Ramalinga Adigal's experiences that were documented and released as the Tiruarutpa after reaching those states too. We understand the rare statements that Tavayogi made as he walked passed us or walked with us after coming to this state. What were mere words in the sacred texts are realized now as we reach the said states.

So when Ma told me she was there to deliver Agathiyar's appreciation and Lord Shiva's Ganges water I saw a similarity with Ramalinga Adigal's song "Arutpirakasa Maalai" where he sings of how the Lord came in the wee early morning hours walking the distance till his feet became red and sore just to deliver something rare in his hands in the confines of his home.

THE DOMINO EFFECT

In speaking to us about our karma the Siddhas I guess are telling us about the Domino effect and the larger Butterfly effect that we have all brought onto ourselves and the world around us through the ages and through the thousands of births we might have taken in the past. Nay it could even be in the several past Yugas as Agathiyar made us aware of the extent of karma that goes back yugas through a couple.

If the Domino effect "typically refers to a linked sequence of events where the time between successive events is relatively small", the Butterfly effect is said to be "any situation where a small change is supposed to be the cause of larger consequences."

Something I did in the way past or maybe in a previous birth (or several) or maybe in another Yuga has determined this day in my life. So, it seems that we come or rather are placed in an awkward position where there is no escape. Life was not a choice. It seems so. But the Siddhas who prefer to see and speak to our souls say we have had a choice right from day one. The journey according to them starts not on this earth but a different plane where we are with God. Neale Donald Walsch in his series of books, "Conversation with God" shares a children's parable titled "The Little Soul and the Sun", adapted from his book 1 in the series, where a young soul who knew he was light wanted to experience it. He asks God to experience light. So, he is given a choice to pick the desired action that he would like to do, from a list of many, once he is on earth. He chooses the act of forgiving. Another soul immediately steps up to join the soul in fulfilling its wish by being the perpetrator so that the young soul can then forgive him. They both come down to earth to live out their desire.

As Neale wrote, knowing who we are was not enough; we needed to become "it", this desire triggers a chain of events. A learning process takes place, and several experiences are recorded, whereby the soul becomes enriched through these experiences. We, being light in essence, for want of experiencing it, had darkness and all opposites created for us. As all the souls are perfect, many wanted and volunteered to come down to help us gain the experience. Thus, we had all known each other earlier. We had planned to be together here. Those who needed a particular experience chose to come early while others remained behind to join later.

But as we are governed by the 96 tattvas, we fail to see through the screen held up by Maya, the illusionist. I guess if we start to see the soul, we might recognize it and come to terms or come to a compromise. The reason we clash head-on is because of the existence of ego or a self, identity and individuality that differentiates us in all manner.

FEELING THE THROB

Last night as I lay on my sofa in the living room with my eyes close, my finger that was touching the crown of my head could feel a pulse. This is observed in small children. It was there for some time. Modern science brushes this off as "feeling a pulse in the fingertip. It refutes that "there is no way that our fingers would be able to detect any blood flow given the condition that between the finger and the scalp and the arteries of our brain is the skull." If that was the case, when I place my finger on inanimate objects, I should feel the pulse too right?

Children are still connected with their home, the source. They are divine in nature. The Buddha-nature in them is very obvious. Henry Wei in his book “The Guiding Light of Lao Tzu”, Synergy Books International, writes that both Lao Tzu and Jesus consider reversion to the state of a child as necessary for salvation for entrance into the kingdom of heaven. In the eyes of Lao Tzu, “the infant with its pristine purity and innocence is the perfect symbol of Tao itself.” He goes on to say that one needs to bring tenderness in him.

"Imagine being like a little child again and believing everything you hear. There is something so wonderful about that trusting, open-hearted naivete that God loves. The more I have grown up, the more I realize that maturity in Christ is all about “growing down.” It is about becoming a child again. Not being childish but being childlike in our ways and our thinking." (Source: http://www1.cbn.com/Devotions/being-a-child)

Lord Muruga came to instruct us to open up our hearts and soul and to surrender. Ramalinga Adigal came to ask us to do the same too.

After setting us to carry out puja of the Siddhas in 2002, that was an offshoot of our usual puja to the pantheon of Hindu Gods and Goddesses and introducing the act of doing charity and slowly introducing Yoga into our lives, he had us call it a day and shut it all down. This came in a timely manner when the world too was forced to brings the shutters down on all our daily activities. We were kept indoors. Coming out of the pandemic and this period of isolation, I felt I had wasted precious time in sitting at home as we were busy with all the activities earlier. But I soon was made to realize that spiritualism was not about gaining things but about losing them. We were emptied during those years of isolation. Now the divine has come to fill us in with his knowledge and not that which we picked up earlier. The divine has come to have us do his work and not the work that we planned and executed to our hearts desire. In total surrender he comes within to do his work in us and later have us do his work. When we became trusting and open hearted, they moved in into our hearts. Our body and self were theirs then, the former became a temple and the latter his soul.

If we are to "grow down" as said earlier, the physical body too I guess at this stage grows down. Dr. C Srinivasan in his "An Introduction to the Philosophy of Saint Ramalingam", translates the moments when Ramalinga Adigal goes through a total internal transformation.

"The Swami says that the skin-the dermis and the epidermis have become extremely soft. All the nerves and the tendons have become gradually loosened. All the bones membranous and cartilaginous have become automatically pliable. All the muscles and the muscular tissues have become loosened. All the blood has become internally coagulated. The semen has become not only hardened but concentrated in a unit. The brain and all its parts the cerebrum, the cerebellum, and the medulla oblongata have loosened as an opening blossom. Throughout the body, an elixir oozes out and flows and fills up all the parts. Externally the forehead perspires. The face becomes brilliant. There is a delicacy, soft and mild, sweet and harmonious in the tender and cool breathing. The hair splits. The tear glands are so profusely pouring in the eyes that it flows through the feet. The mouth gasps with a trembling note. The ears and their delicate parts are filled with melody. The entire body has become cool. The chest and the heart are throbbing. The palms are folded. The legs are staggering. The four different aspects of the mind have respectively attained a melting mood, have the sparkling filled, have harmoniously heartened, and have then and there, the repercussions put down. The heart swells with anxiety to see the whole world (of love). All the visible parts of the body are blooming with ecstasy. The life-bound ego which spurts out through the senses has vanished. All the blemishes that surround the heart and the mind have been extinguished. The tender and soft loving and affectionate, mercy and compassionate quietism stand out. All the world and worldly affairs are hidden. The ardent desire for receiving the Supreme Grace is increasing and overflowing. Now the God Supreme in the form of Supreme love fills up the body fully enshrining divine life."

It is interesting to note here that he mentioned "The brain and all its parts the cerebrum, the cerebellum, and the medulla oblongata have loosened as an opening blossom." Science describes the skull of a child as follows.

"The fetal skull contains cranial bones that have not yet joined together. The spaces that lie between the large cranial bones (the frontal bone, the parietal bone, the temporal bone and the occipital bone) are the membrane-bound fontanelle. This is why newborn have a "soft spot" on their head. The anterior fontanelle is the largest of the fontanelles. It forms a "diamond-shape" structure and can take between 12 and 18 months to form the coronal suture that joins the frontal bone to the parietal bones. The anterior fontanelle closes at about 12-18 months and is larger than the other. The posterior and sphenoidal fontanelle appear more "triangular-shaped" and close within a couple of months. The posterior fontanelle will close to form the lambdoidal suture that joins the occipital bone with the parietal bones. The sphenoidal fontanelles (one lying laterally at each side of the cranium) will close to form the squamosal suture. The squamosal suture is bordered anteriorly by the frontal bone, superiorly by the parietal bone, posteriorly by the squamous portion of the temporal bone, and inferiorly by the greater wing of the sphenoid bone that joins the temporal lobes with the sphenoid. From the universe, we took the five elements to become the embryo and fetus. We grew into a child, a toddler, a kid, a teen, a youth, a man, and thus ends our lives. The saints teach us to reverse the process. Pursuing further only the experience of Brahmam exists. This is Samadhi.

When Agathiyar said the Atma in its subtle form stays from 1 to 5 Varagai with the child before it's veiled, this was interesting as I grew up hearing the story from my mother that Lord Brahma, (who determines our fate, and which Agathiyar speaks of in the memo too), speaks to the newborn child revealing her life day by day. When the fetal skull closes the conversation with God ends. This is why we see all sorts of emotion in a newborn. The child smiles, cries etc. in its sleep. The elders always warn us not to press the soft spot on the head. We feel this spot throbbing when we place our palm on it. Agathiyar too told me not to allow anyone to touch my head at one stage. He also told me not to fall at anyone's feet. Now I understand after sensing the throb in the crown of my head weeks before when he activated the chakras within.

Agathiyar tells me the Kundalini was activated way back in 2007. But I was not aware of any changes be it physical or otherwise then. Later during the post pandemic period, he told me I had stagnated in worldly affairs. He continued, "You cannot possibly break the shackle alone. Hence follow the practices that I am to give you."

He said further, "Reduce your involvement in outside activities. Sit before me and meditate. During this moment carry out the cleansing breath as taught by your guru. Just the important ones. You shall sense a coolness within. Remain silent in these moments. Focus on your breath. Your breath shall touch the Suzhimunai and swirl. Travel along your seven chakras. That journey shall awaken your chakras. After traversing these chakras when it touches the seventh you shall know your purpose here. This is the right time to start this practice. Agathiyar continued on the changes to be expected, "You shall witness many changes taking place within you. Do not fear. Due to the activation of the chakras your body shall emit foul smell. You shall have constipation. You shall urinate often. Take lots of warm water.  The Agathiyar Kuzhambu you took did help in expelling the 3 dosas. But there still is. It shall be expelled in due time. Carry out the said practice."

Agathiyar enlightens us further. "When one starts the journey in going within, the result is Gnanam. But it shall vary among people. Hence, I cannot say exactly what shall take place. All this while you have gained external knowledge or Ulaga Gnana. Now you shall gain Gnana that is going to serve you."

Ramalinga Adigal came on 14.5.2020 and asked me if I had understood the purpose of asking me to go within and if I am experiencing changes in my body? "This is only the start," he says when I brief him on the changes within. He adds, "You shall lay the steppingstones and progress at your pace. Effort is needed. What you are doing currently is wonderful. Continue with it. Watching your breath is right. You are changing its flow correctly. Continue with it. You are on the first step. Prana moving in you is itself Pranava Degam. When you sense the Pranavam you shall question yourself if the Pranam is traveling in you or if you are hitching on it and traveling in it. When you reach that state, you shall have the answer. That moment shall be one of extreme bliss. Go deep within this bliss. There is more. There is much to learn. You have my blessings. I shall travel with you till you reach the destination. I shall accompany those who go deep within. Follow your breath. Place the effort and you shall reach the destination."

In July 2020 Agathiyar breaks the news that the opening of the Muladhara chakra after practicing the series of Pranayama exercises Tavayogi gave which he described as a treasure had ponded at Svadishthana was about to break free from the bunds and the water released to enable it to make its journey further. "Your Muladhara and Svadhisthana are open. The breath is currently lodged in Svadhisthana. The time of its opening is near. Now is the right time to start your practice. This would open up the chakra completely. You will see many changes take place in your body. Don't be afraid. In activating these chakras your body shall smell foul, you shall have constipation, and you shall urinate often. The Agathiyar Kuzhambu you consumed earlier (on 27 June 2022) helped stabilize your Vata, Kapha, and Pitta. Yet these Dosas need to be expelled further. Your journey till this day was external and was for worldly existence. Now you shall tread a journey that takes you within. You will come to understand the reason you were born. When your breath touches the Suzhimunai (சுழுமுனை) and travels, engaging with the chakras, upon reaching the seventh chakra, you shall get the answer. At that moment a Sakti will come within. That is சுழுமுனை or Suzhimunai. In traveling within when everything becomes clear that is Gnanam. Agathiyar continued on the changes to be expected, "You shall witness many changes taking place within you. Do not fear. Due to the activation of the chakras, your body shall emit a foul smell. You shall have constipation. You shall urinate often. Take lots of warm water.  The Agathiyar Kuzhambu you took did help in expelling the 3 dosas. But there still is. It shall be expelled in due time. Carry out the said practice."

On 22.8.2020 Ramalinga Adigal tells me to use my breath to fan the Jothi. He adds that, "It shall travel through Sushumna and touch Ajna. Then the Jothi is seen. Carry out Nadi Sudhi to raise the Prana. Now it does not move in both nostrils. When it travels in both nostrils, you shall then rest in perfection or Sudha Paripuranam. Dhyana will be yours then. You are one with the Prana. Pay attention to it. The changes in you are but discharges. It shall leave your body. Do not worry. What you are doing is tavam."

The Kundalini that was raised unknowingly in me in 2007, laid low to enable me to carry on my daily obligations and responsibilities. When the Muladhara chakra gained heat in 2010, there was no way to hold back this energy further. It began to move in the region of my pelvis, lower back and abdomen. I suffered for some 2 - 3 years. After the doctors gave me a clean sheet and Agathiyar told me it was due to the heat from the Muladhara chakra, I never visited the doctors unless he tells me, as I knew it was all Agathiyar's doing in cleansing my body. Along the way, till the present times, I saw numerous changes take place within that I could not comprehend. There were traces of blood in the sputum. The feces were changing from day to day in form, color and consistencies. It came in the shape of spirals, pellets, cones, and strings, and were soft, or hard at other times. The urine and motion were smelly. I asked myself if my body was decaying within as my body smelt like that of a corpse. At times it was clear and at other times discolored. There were what I thought traces of semen in the urine too. My body would be hot one moment and cold another moment. I had the wind travel in my abdomen causing pain in my groins and testes, in various other places too reaching to the head where it brought on headaches. I had piles all of a sudden that went away just as it had come on. I had boils appear on my skin. I understood it to be the result of excessive heat in me due to my practices. And I understood it to be a cleansing process going on within. I then understood what was going on within me. Though they had assured me, I had feared if these signs meant that there was a medical problem in me or it comes with old age, but Agathiyar and Ramalinga Adigal cleared the air and assured me that it was the work of Kundalini. Upon asking what I should do further Agathiyar replied "Nothing. It shall do its work."

On 22 August 2022, I felt an "explosion of energy" in my belly as I woke up and stretched in bed. It felt like I had stretched a nerve below my belly button. A sudden swirl of energy was released in my abdomen. A chill came over the region of my chest and heart. My whole body became numb to its very tips and core. I felt nauseous and wanted to throw up. I had the sudden urge to pee and ease myself. For fear that I would pee in bed, I got up to go to the toilet. I fell twice but picked myself up. It soon subsided. Towards night the top of my head was cool.

The next day, I woke up to go to the loo, but I could not piss. I fainted again. I called my wife asking her to bring the peacock feathers over and brush my body. My body became numb from the shoulders down. I had no feeling at all in my torso as I lay like a log on my bed. I could not move an inch of my body. But I was aware of what was happening to me. I asked myself if this was what a dead body would feel like. Was I experiencing death? Was this another way to experience one's death besides the commonly spoken about out of body experiences? Seeking answers to what had taken place, we placed a request before Agathiyar to clear the air. And he did. He told me the following. There was nothing to worry about. Previously he had told me that energy had stagnated what I understood to be at Svathisthana. Tavayogi too told me that our effort is only till this chakra. They have to come and lead us on from there. It was released now. He gives a warning to all of us. When the chakras are activated late in life it would have some adverse results on our bodies. Since the chakra was activated late in life the blood is affected. The blood count will tip the scale. When the heat of tapas increases in our body, blood flow will be less bringing on numbness. This would result in urinary and excretary problems. He did treat me too by dipping my hands into a bowl of lukewarm water to the accompaniment of my family chanting the Arutperunjothi mantra. He ran his hands along my back and spine and placed his hands on my head and applied the sacred ash over my body. As it worried my wife much, to pacify her Agathiyar asked to seek the allopathy doctor.

Agathiyar even spoke of death in the event it happens. Death is another doorway to another journey says Agathiyar. "Do not be afraid of death. It is but another door to another journey. One who invites death is a Siddha. There is much I need to carry out through you."

In telling me that "There is much I need to carry out through you," I understood that Agathiyar had assured me that my purpose is not over and done with. He tells me further, "Enough of writing my praise. Write about your internal changes in you and your bodily experiences. Let your writings be about the changes taking place in your body. Let your readers know the changes that take place in the body if they come to worship the light and seek to merge with it. My wisdom shall come as your experience. Experience first and I shall clarify them later. Experience is knowledge to you. Nothing is beyond experience."

And so, he gave me the experiences first and later came to clarify on it. The swirling sensation that was felt in my abdomen to my surprise was felt in the crown of my head the next day but to a lesser extent and intensity. Though lesser in intensity it was equally blissful just as it felt in my abdomen a day earlier. It stays "stuck" you can say in the crown of my head. Later I thought it was more of a blooming of a flower slowly opening up. The chillness that follows made me ask if it was the much spoken about ambrosia that was dripping from this spot. I had always lamented and voiced out to Agathiyar and Ramalinga Adigal that I could not fulfill their directive to go within and meditate as it just doesn't happen. There were to many noises and din around in my neighborhood and from my neighbors that I would give up my attempt in sitting still and taming my mind. Now he has this throbbing sensation go on in my crown that automatically draws me to the spot, and I can quieten down at least for some moment. I could also in bringing my attention to it connect and bring on this bliss voluntarily. As Agathiyar always says that he goes easy on my knowing that I cannot withstand pain, I am glad I did not have to go through what Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa had to go through.

"Ramakrishna struggled mightily", Richard Schiffman writes in ‘SRI RAMAKRISHNA – A PROPHET FOR THE NEW AGE’, Paragon House, 1989, "to follow Totapuri’s instruction on meditation."

"It was no use; the last and most subtle barrier, the golden chain of his devotion, barred the path. The personal God who had lighted his way and guided his steps now stood as a barrier to the realization of the impersonal reality."

Richard Schiffman conveys Ramakrishna’s own electrifying description,

“I tried on several occasions to concentrate my mind on the truth of Advaita Vedanta; but each time the form of the Mother intervened. I said to Totapuri in despair, “It’s no good. I will never be able to lift my spirit to the unconditioned state and find myself face to face with the Atman!”

"He replied severely, “What do you mean you can’t? You must!”

"Looking about him, he found a shard of glass. He took it and struck the point between my eyes, saying, and “Concentrate your mind on that point.”

"Then I began to meditate with all my might, and soon the gracious form of the Divine Mother appeared. I used my discrimination as a sword and cut her in two. The last barrier vanished, and my spirit immediately precipitated itself beyond the plane of the conditioned. I lost myself in Samadhi.”

That would be a torture I thought. I am glad Agathiyar's approach is much gentler.

KNOWING EACH'S INTENT

I am not a Nadi reader, nor do I have any Nadi in my possession, but I am passionate about it for it has always intrigued me. There is a mystical flair to it. Anyway, a new phase of my journey and life came with the coming of the Nadi and its authors the Siddhas into my life at 43. They have guided me well. Hence the reason for me to share and write much about it. If many come to it as and when they need guidance or are in trouble or in misery, others become dependent on to the extend they consult the Siddhas for every single thing, desire or venture of theirs. As for me the calling came in 2002 after some six years after I came to know of the existence of the Nadi and its authors in 1996. Agathiyar then told me that he would see me when I was 45-46 years old. That is when Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal comes to our shore, and I meet him. He tells me to see my Jnana Kaandam. Agathiyar points me to him as my guru. The said journey started under Tavayogi's guidance and the many Aasi readings where the Siddhas call us up to update us on what to do. I guess the reason this happened was I had surrendered to them for better or for worst.

A story is told about the nature of seekers, devotees, followers and disciples and the reason they arrive. I see a similarity with those who come seeking the Nadi too.

Narrenaditya Komaragiri writes a fictitious story on "Who A True Devotee Is" "that was inspired by a small but an amazing one-page story that he read in a Telugu book", at http://www.tirumalesa.com/a-thought-provoking-powerful-story-that-will-tell-you-who-a-true-devotee-is/

A saint who attained the gift of seeing God whenever he chooses asked God what are the qualities of a true devotee?

God takes his devotees as an example to explain. He tells him there were currently 10 devotees suffering from different ailments currently in his ashram. "You and your assistants are doing great service. However, neither your Tava Sakthi nor the care by your assistants can completely cure them." So, God says, "Therefore, I will come to your Ashram tomorrow, in my original form, and cure their disease. See what happens."

When God arrives, the saint pleads to God on their behalf again to cure them. God's gaze fell on all the ten inmates of the ashram.

God told them, “Okay. I accept your prayers and requests. Now go to your rooms. In about a week’s time all your diseases will be cured and all of you can then go home and live happily thereafter. As said by God, all the incurable diseases of all these devotees, in the holy Saint’s Ashram, were completely cured within a week.

However, only one of them immediately went to the Saint; prostrated before his feet; and with tears in his eyes said, “Swamy, I am not a great devotee like all others here nor offer any big prayers to God. However, I strongly believe that whatever is coming and going from my life; whatever is happening or not happening in my life; and whatever I am gaining or losing in my life are due to His divine grace. Therefore, with immense faith in Him, I was always confident that He who had given me the disease will also give me the cure. And today I am cured completely from my disease, which everyone thought is incurable, and attained absolute normalcy. This wouldn’t have been possible without your grace and guidance Swamy. Today, you have not only helped me but also my poor family that is surviving solely on my earnings. I don’t know how to offer my thanks to you. Please bless me Swamy. And please permit me to visit your Ashram once again with my family.” Saying so, that follower of the holy Saint took leave from him. The Saint blessed him and felt immensely happy with the humility he had spoken.

But the saint thought, “Why is that only this follower of mine had come to me and offered me thanks and why is that others have not come and offered their thanks to me when I did so much selfless service to them and helped them get their disease cured by God." In a way he was deeply hurt too by the behavior of those patients.

A couple of days later, God came to inquired about the health condition of the devotees. The Saint explained everything to God in detail and finally expressed his unhappiness saying, “Swamy, although I did everything that I can do to help these devotees overcome their illnesses, I have in the end expected a small thanks from them as a mark of gratitude for praying for their cure. Surprisingly, only one of the ten patients had come to me and offered me his thanks but the rest of the nine did not even inform me and left the Ashram. I really felt sad Swamy. I am a human too. They are all great devotees and were very devoted to me when in Ashram. How can they do this to me Swamy?”

God gave a loud laugh and said there is more to come. "Very shortly you are going to hear about some bad stories circulating all over the world about you. These nine people who used you in the Ashram are now going to tell the world some cooked up stories about you in defense of what they have done to you and why they have done that to you. However, what is more surprising here is, the world too believes only in their unscrupulous loudness than in your noble silence."

"But you should always be like a lamp and be doing your best to give light to the world without worrying about what people are doing in the darkness behind you.”

God reveals their thoughts to the saint upon been cured completely cured from the disease by His divine intervention on the request of the Saint.

The 1st patient had a doubt if he was truly cured as the doctors had given up on him. "So let me check up with them once and get back to this Saint again." He just doesn’t need the Saint anymore because his devotion towards the Saint is need based.

The second devotee thought, “Is this cure really complete? Or is this just temporary. Let me be fully assured and then come back to this Saint and thank him for what he had done to me.” He hesitates to completely trust God.

The third devotee thought, “I think I never had any disease. This Saint and his assistants have made me feel sick just for their benefit and forcibly kept me here. Maybe they have some expectation from me in future. This is all drama." In fact, it is this devotee who had actually spread many false stories about the Saint in defense of his stupid claims. So, there’s no way he would visit the Saint again.

The fourth devotee thought, “Yeah. The Saint had certainly helped me cure my disease. But it’s okay. I can come to him again some other time and thank him. Where’s the need to do that immediately. Even otherwise where will the Saint go from here." Do you think he is going to do that? Maybe he will but only when another such need arises.

The fifth devotee thought, "It would have on its own got cured in course of time anyway. I have unnecessarily wasted my time by coming to this Saint and staying in his Ashram for so long.” This man too had spread false stories about the Saint and prevented many from going to the Saint for cure.

The sixth devotee thought. "What is that the Saint had done to me except giving lengthy discourses every morning and evening. Whatever little that was done to me was done by his assistants. However, that doesn’t mean I should be thankful to them all for what they have done to me. They have just done their duty. So, there’s no need for me to either thank the Saint or his devotees. In fact, the Saint should be thankful to me for giving him a chance to serve a great devotee like me.”

The seventh devotee thought, “Any small Doctor in my town would have cured my disease. This Saint had unnecessarily said that it is an incurable disease and wasted my time here in this Ashram."

The eighth devotee thought, "My disease is half cured and would have any how cured in another week. So, what is that either the God or the saint had done to me to be thankful to them. Not necessary.”

The ninth devotee thought, “What is that the Saint had specially done to me. I am destined to have the darshan of God and get my disease cured by Him. So got it cured now. The saint had just played his role in the whole drama. So, the question of thanking him doesn’t arise at all.”

Finally, God comes around to the man who came forward to thank the saint and reveals his thoughts to the saint. “How many efforts the holy Saint had really put to get us cured from our disease. He’s really God in human form. He had also on our behalf prayed to God and requested Him to cure our disease. What is that we have paid him for all that he had done to us. In fact, he had spent his own money on us and served us without expecting anything in return from us. What is that we can in return offer him to show our gratitude. I have done something good in my past life therefore I had the good fortune of meeting such noble Saints in this life. All this had happened entirely due to the grace of God. As long as we all are alive, me and my family should be thankful to this great noble saint. God, please give me an opportunity in future to do something in return to show my gratitude to this holy Saint. My sincere thanks to you both for being so merciful towards this poor soul.”

God continued, "You once asked me who is a true devotee and what are the qualities of true devotion. I could have given you an elaborate explanation but wanted to give you a real-life experience so that you will be able to understand the world and people around you in a better way. I think you now know who a true devotee is and what are the qualities of true devotion."

Do we see a similarity between those above who sought a cure for their diseases and those who seek the Nadi? I sure do.

NEED FOR COMPASSION

I was walking at the park this morning when a senior man about my age ran past me. Moments later I heard a cry. I stopped and turned back to look. He apparently had fallen as he was sitting on his buttocks. I turned back and approached him asking if he was fine. Luckily, he seemed to be all right except for bruises on his palm having hit the tarmac face down. After some moments and some small talk, he picked himself up and bid me bye-bye to continue his activity. That is when I saw a group of people peering over the bush fence just some meters away. They had apparently completed their morning exercise and meditation and were chatting on the grass as I arrived some time ago. But none came to enquire if everything was alright. It made me wonder what has become of society these days. Has this renown exercise and meditation that takes its roots from Buddhism lost its element of compassion among modern day practitioners?

I remember watching the opening credit sequence in the movie "Unnal Mudiyum Thambi", where a blind old lady struggles to pick up a banana thrown by a passerby at the ghats. A kid sitting just meters away is indifferent and keeps singing a hymn. An old man comes to her aid. He later turns to the boy and dress him down asking how it never crossed to his mind to come to her aid. We fail to see God in everyone and everywhere. Apparently, we have locked God behind the temple walls and his sannadhi. In fact, literally speaking that is what we have done. We let him out at specific times. A priest told us to pass food parcel after the Nitya puja for then God shall see what we are doing. This is ridiculous I told myself. Though I wanted to speak my mind, I refrained from arguing with him.

A story is told of a lad who stopped a devotee on his way to the temple with offerings to the Lord in the form of fruits. He was hungry and wanted some. The devotee gave him some fruits. Later God came before the devotee as he invited him to partake the fruits. God told him that he had already taken and was quite full. But how and when the devotee asked. God replied that he came as the lad earlier.

When our ego became inflated as we made our rounds helping the needy and hungry giving them provisions and cooked food, what my wife described as getting high in doing this work, Agathiyar in a timely manner brought it all to a standstill and asked us to go within. If we were contented that we have done our part and moved away, a youngster among our group went a step further and married someone from this lower income group wanting to bring her out of her plight. I told him that I see him in a different light and have very high regards for him.

Compassion is lacking these days. I guess we too needed to by schooled or rather have it bloom from within us through certain acts. That is the reason Tavayogi started me with charity at his ashram that soon Agathiyar expanded with the coming of several youths to my home. We engaged in starting to feed the young and old at the orphanages and old folks' homes. Later through Sri Krishna who was already doing it, and his Agathiyar Universal Mission, we started to feed the homeless too. Later Agathiyar introduced us to the unfortunate few who were struggling to work and feed their family at the same time. We took over from an individual who was doing it after Agathiyar told her to do so in the Nadi as an alternative remedy since she was in no position to travel to India then. Grandmas trying to make a living and raising small kids at the same time, grandmas trying to make a living and looking after special child at the same time, single parents who juggled between work and home, and those looking after bedridden and sickly family members, were shown to us as we went knocking door to door to enquire if they needed food and provisions. But what surprised me was that instead of getting caught in another web of responsibility and relationships, besides the role of a householder that we are in, Agathiyar cut us off asking us to move on or rather move within consoling us that others will come by and continue the charity work we did earlier.

The world's religions seemed to me to dish out regimes of do's and don'ts and seem to groom one to become self-centered and possessive. Where have the good values gone? Agathiyar in revealing the purpose of man's birth states compassion and service to others right down to the animal, plant and even mineral kingdom in his 5 tenets for man. Ramalinga Adigal wept at seeing the crops wither. That was the immense state of compassion he had towards all of live. He respected all live as Agathiyar asks us too.

We cannot possibly separate God and his creation. He is in every one of his creations. Feed his subjects and it is equivalent to serving him. Similarly, God sends help in moments of our need. He need not necessarily come in the form that we are accustomed to seeing him in paintings, statues or even the movies. He can come as the pauper, an animal, the hungry, the desolate, the homeless, the unfortunate, and in many other ways. Next time someone steps up to you for help tell yourself it is God who has come to test you.

SEEKING TO DISSOLVE IN LIGHT

The Abbess at an Abbey of Nuns in Tibet is seen dissolving into light. Her younger sister also a nun narrates the last moments of her departure. Here we have a first-hand account of a witness to this marvel. She had asked her if she was in pain, but she started laughing. "She died sitting in a meditation posture. Lights appeared all around her as her body began to dissolve. At the end I was able to lift her shrunken body with just one hand like a doll."

I shared the article "A VISION OF DEMATERIALIZATION OF RAMALINGA'S LIVING BODY" by Gangadharan, a disciple of Mother Mira Alfassa at https://agathiyarvanam.blogspot.com/2019/03/the-final-transformation.html some time back. This article on the website http://www.ramalinga.com states that Mother Mira Alfassa (aid of Sri Aurobindo of Pondicherry) had seen, during her meditation, the happenings that took place on that Friday night when Ramalinga Adigal attained the Jothi in Sidhivalagam. This is indeed a rare account of the mystery behind Ramalinga Adigal’s disappearance. We are blessed to come across this wonderful revelation that brings to light the process that is much talked about becoming light.

Hearing Ramalinga Adigal becoming light and later when Tavayogi told us that Ramalinga Adigal's devotee Sri Jeganatha Swamigal's body emitted light as he was laid in Samadhi in 1959 at Tapah, Perak, Malaysia, I told Tavayogi that I wanted to see him perform the same feat. He replied that he had missed the boat as the transformation has to happen before the age of 60. Tavayogi was 69 when I met him in Malaysia in 2005. However, he told me his end would be in the form of Sahaja Samadhi.

Sahaj samadhi is a type of samadhi, or "deep spiritual bliss," which yogis believe to be their natural state. Many consider Sahaj samadhi to be the highest or the most complete level of samadhi. It is said to be unconditioned, non-dualistic, and uncontrived; and, as a state, it is always accessible to the wise and those who have burned their past karma. (Source: https://www.yogapedia.com/definition/6224/sahaj-samadhi)

But I am consoled by Supramania Swami who told me that he had seen the light or Jothi days before he passed on, on 7 February 2007. Agathiyar came in the Nadi that weekend and told me that it was true that Supramania Swami had gone into Samadhi.

Dhavantri came after Tavayogi's demise in 2018 and told us that Tavayogi would guide us further in the light form. I was overjoyed that he did attain that state after all. Later Dhanvantri told us that our tapas helped to bring him to the state which proved Supramania Swami right when he used to remind me to carry out my tapas diligently so that he shall rise in stature. I guess we help each other achieve his/her objectives. We are glad that we had unknowingly contributed to the well-being of our gurus.

Then when Jnana Jothiamma came along I was eagerly waiting for her to achieve that state. Agathiyar was carefully molding her behind closed doors in Chennai. But to our disbelief, he took her with him abruptly putting an end to all the plans he had laid out for her upon coming out of her isolation and solitude. I believe her love for him overshadowed all the gifts and treasures that awaited her, all the adoration and respect that was due to come her way, and all the power and authority that came with it. She opted to have Agathiyar instead.

We come across (Siva) Jyoti mentioned in The Gurbani - Sri Guru Granth Sahib, SGGS 1238) quoted in http://www.gurbani.org/articles/webart147.php

Upon awakening to the Divine Light within (Siva Joti), Maya banishes, and doubts are eradicated (The Gurbani - Sri Guru Granth Sahib, SGGS 1238).

Those who become the Gurmukhs are blessed with the Divine Light of the Lord (Siva Joti); Maya comes to serve them (The Gurbani - Sri Guru Granth Sahib, SGGS 1324).

When the Satguru (Self, God, etc., is awakened within), He becomes our Protector; through His Divine Light, the Wisdom is attained (The Gurbani - Sri Guru Granth Sahib, SGGS 1328).

And it all starts with their worship. Ramalinga Adigal started worshiping Lord Murugan in Chennai and Thirutani, Lord Siva and Vadivudai Ambigai in Otriyore, and Lord Nadarajah in Chidambaram. Supramania Swami worshipped Lord Murugan of Tiritani and Tiruchendur, Annamalaiyar at Tiruvannamalai, and Lord Vishnu. Tavayogi started a Thaiveedu at Tirupur after coming to know his guru Chitramuthu Adigal. Chitramuthu Adigal himself was a disciple of Sri Jeganatha Swamigal. He spread the teachings of Ramalinga Adigal. Jeganathar was a follower of Ramalinga Adigal's teachings. Ramalinga Adigal follows Agathiyar when he visits our home.

"All the nuns hope to achieve the body of light for it signifies the end to the cycle of reincarnation", adds the narrator. Much has been said about Ramalinga Adigal's mission to dissolve in light. But we fail to realize that many others have attempted and succeeded as this Abbess did. This state is available to all who desire or rather surrender to the will of the divine. By his grace, their wish to dematerialize shall materialize.

TAKING SMALL PRACTICAL STEPS TOWARDS SIDDHAHOOD

I think if Agathiyar and Tavayogi had brought me the hard and difficult way that they went through to arrive at where they are today, I would have given up. I cannot stomach pain. A small headache gives me the intensity of migraine in me. A common cold that most people brush off and go on doing their work gets me laid down for several days. Imagine how am I going to survive the wilderness and the extreme climate that they saw in their ventures. It is true what Jnana Jothiamma said of me that I would not survive what she had to go through in her quest to Siddahood. Agathiyar has at numerous times told me the same and conducted things in such a way that I do not feel pain or it is minimum. I guess I am a spoilt brat.

I am more determined to see it through all the more now. Agathiyar led me to take tiny steps to arrive here now. I guess he had monitored me all the while even before I heard his name mentioned the first time in 1996. Or rather he had monitored me even in my many pasts lives. Looking back now I see his hand in every moment of my life. I dread to think how my life would have ended up if not for his unseen timely intervention in all scopes of my life.

The late Dr. Krishnan told me that only the Siddhas' Nadi can reveal if I was cursed in the past when I put the question to him if his predictions had ever gone wrong. He admitted it could as was in my case. He was a very well-renowned astrologer and Siddha physician whose predictions came through for others but not me. But back then I never was moved to seek the Nadi. In 2001 Agathiyar in a mysterious manner came to claim me. It was only revealed after several years that the surprise initiation that came through my nephew was initiated by Agathiyar through his Paramaguru Gopal Pillai.

In 2002 my colleague rather out of the blue spoke of his experience in seeing his Nadi in 2000. That set the ball rolling. I began to collect moss and some jewels too.

Agathiyar in the Nadi reading laid out several small steps to take as they are the best way to tackle the big goals that he had for me. If he had laid the entire blueprint of my life before me I would have backed off looking at the immense journey to be accomplished. I did not need to start from zero then as I had done some work in carrying out home puja to the deities and practiced Yoga after having done much reading on religion and the Agamas, customs and tradition, and Yoga practices between the years 1980 to 1988. It was all brought to a stop by Lord Shiva who appeared in a dream asking me to take a break from all the questions that rained on me like bullets then. This break saw me married and have children.

So when Agathiyar started me off on puja and yoga again in the Nadi reading, it came easy. The only addition was the recitation of the names of Siddhas which were new. Wanting to know more about their worship brought me to numerous Peedhams, ashrams, movements, societies, and organizations. Though they were engaged in many things puja was not one of them. I carried on with my home puja and Yoga. Agathiyar showed me to my first guru Supramania Swami of Tiruvannamalai the following year and Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal in 2005. Each guru led me by taking small accommodating steps toward Agathiyar's goal and purpose for me.

Though Agathiyar did not mention my purpose in coming to my Nadi, he had many seekers and aspirants come and join my home puja. I began to figure out that we were brought together to carry out puja and charity. The home puja extended to the confines of temples with invitations extended to us and the wishes of these engaging youths. After my return from my maiden pilgrimage to India in 2003 I began to share my journey on my websites and wrote about my gurus and their ashram activities sharing them on YouTube too. When I chose to close them all after reading an insulting comment by a friend of a friend who shared my gurus' photo on Facebook, I informed Tavayogi who asked "Why did you do that son? Let that be. It will benefit many." I started from scratch again uploading the articles and videos on YouTube. I figured that I was meant to write about them just as Tavayogi had asked me to speak about the Siddhas during his visit and opening of a Peedham in Banting, Malaysia in 2010. Agathiyar too in many Nadi readings encouraged me to write. Lately, he told me enough of writing about him and instead write about the internal changes and experiences I was going through now. I guess this is my journey and purpose as for now.

We are glad that we involved the children too in our puja for now since the adults have been asked to go within these children can carry on the Siddha tradition.

KUNDALI PAAL

It is the same world. Nothing has changed. What has changed is our standing. What has changed is our understanding.

So too it is that the moon is the same. To lovers of yore, the moon came as a messenger bringing messages to each other. Sadly in present times we hardly look up at the sky. We are bogged with social media.

The moon is the same. But the soul has elevated to its highest expression. Just as we are always told to aim for the highest, Tavayogi asked us to worship Agathiyar. Agathiyar asked to worship Ma. Today she has shown us to Father Siva. A divine being like Ramalinga Adigal who sees God as his beloved looks up to the moon too. But his quest is to know the self. It is said that Erai is a thief; he steals your heart; he comes in the middle or dead of night; he comes without announcing; he comes when least expected; he consumes you; he leaves you desperate and yearning for him; his thought never leaves us after that. Siva has stolen Ramalinga Adigal's heart too. Ramalinga Adigal did not settle for a place at the feet of Siva but instead asked to be placed with the new moon or crescent that adorns his tresses. He believes since the Lord adorns the crescent moon it could share the secret. Show me a way to know myself and immerse in its bliss he asks of it. I would like to join you up there in the tresses of my Lord. I would love to immerse myself in the sea of Satchit Ananda. I yearn to be in a place void of day and night. Oh, Moon, who is full of Tejas I wish to become Shivam. I wish to drop all Mala or impurities. Will the Lord secretly come to me? Will he give me an opportunity to serve him secretly? Oh, Moon fill me in on the Mala. I yearn for the Kundalini. What is it like to be beginningless and endless? How did you come about without a seed? Teach me a way to attain the state where My Lord and I are one. Teach me so that I realize myself. So much is said about the Vaasi (Breath). Please enlighten me on it? Why does my Lord choose to dance in Ambalam? How does my Lord dance in levitation? How is he in all atoms? Just like we get to know the owner through the watchman Ramalinga Adigal through his song, entices the Moon to reveal more about his Lord and the secrets kept close to his heart.

Many saints realized their devotion or bakti slowly evolve or grow to that of love or kadhal for Erai. Swami Saravanananda describes devotion as the thawing and melting of the mind (intellect) while love means the thawing and melting of the soul (heart). So too my heart yearns for him.

We have either read or heard stories about how the Siddhas attained the state of Jothi. In recent times, Ramalinga Adigal attained this state in 1874 followed by Jeganatha Swamigal in 1959. Supramania Swami told me he saw the Jothi just days before his samadhi. When Tavayogi used to frequent Malaysia, I posed my desire to see him attain the state too. But he replied that he would have to come back. He told me that that state is only possible if we worked towards it and attained it before we reach the age of 60. Agathiyar (before he took on this name) had to come back in another birth and attain this state through the grace of Lord Murugan. Agathiyar monitored Jnana Jothiamma closely as she embarked on this journey too. She was 60 and above too. But it is still a mystery to us whether she attained the state as Agathiyar has not revealed. As I step into my 63rd year, Agathiyar tells me that we shall go through much misery if it is attempted after 60. But the most compassionate father and guru did give it a try. He comforted me that I did try, though I faced disappointments in the practices that were given to me. Unknown to me he triggered the sleeping serpent and monitored my progress, only revealing it to me in 2007. Only recently did he open up the gates to the Sushumna Nadi and allowed the serpent access to the higher chakras. I now bathe in bliss in the crown of my head. It was not my effort at all but his beneficence. He has given me an opportunity to achieve this high state. I am grateful to him for another chance. I am grateful to him for closing an eye on all my sins and allowing this sinner to participate in the race too. I pray that I shall succeed with his grace and make my gurus proud. I too would like to join their ranks and be one with them again.

MORE FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Agathiyar told us each shall realize his center சுழிமுனை (Suzhimunai). It is the place where arises energy and vibration or உணர்வு that comes with it. "Know it to be your Suzhimunai," he says. As their grace deepens, a slight throb is felt at this spot on the head at exactly the anterior fontanel or the soft spot located in newborns. This throb nudges us to take notice of it and become aware. One who arrives at his center becomes total says Agathiyar. He calls this the state of பரிபூரணம் (Paripuranam).

Tavayogi explains that the breath that flows through the left nostril is known as Akaaram and that running through the right nostril is Ukaaram, creating vibrations in Edakala and Pingala respectively. This vibration creates further ripples in the midst of the head and is called Maakaaram, The spot where these three sounds and their related vibrations congregate is known as Suzhumunai.

In "God Talks With Arjuna: The Bhagavad Gita", published byYogoda Satsanga Society of India", 1999, we learn from Sri Paramahansa Yogananda that "The body is not at all what it appears to be. It is a complicated result of the combination of six currents that emanate from six astral centers. And these currents are in turn emanations of the spherical cosmic energy of the creative AUM vibrations. The AUM or cosmic intelligent vibration is the first manifestation of God in creation."

"One's body is produced by an earth current in the coccyx, a water vibration in the sacral, a fire vibration in the lumbar, an air vibration in the dorsal, an ether vibration in the cervical, and a consciousness and life force vibration in the medulla and christ centers. These are the vibrations of the 5 elements or tattvas in nature, macro cosmically present in the universe, and micro cosmically operative in the body of man. Man being a microcosm of the universe has within him all five sheaths: matter, life, mind, intellect, and bliss. He alone of all forms of creation has the ability to unfold all of these sheaths and free his soul to become one with God."

When Agathiyar followed by Ramalinga Adigal told us to read and know about the tattvas first as a preliminary lesson towards understanding the rest of the experience that was to come, we never actually understood but followed the instruction though we could not understand the matter of it. Even the instruction to go within did not come easy. But we tried. Then the most compassionate Siddhas took pity on us and lifted us up by giving us a nudge, in the energy centers. We came to experience these energy centers. Sri Paramahansa Yogananda writes, "The spiritual aspirant eager to solve the mystery of the body only understands it when his attention is withdrawn from the body to the six inner booths which throwing out six currents are responsible for producing the picture of the body. By knowledge of these six currents and by years of meditation the yogi learns to know the body not as a solid mass but as a manifestation of vibratory light."

He adds, that while "the physical body is made principally of flesh, the astral body is that of prana while the causal body is made specifically of consciousness, ideas making man a conscious sentient being."

"Life current present in the united sperm and ovum cell develops that primal cell into an embryo and ultimately into a full-grown human being. The creative life energy of the astral body descends into the physical body through seven subtle centers in the spine and brain within only days after conception. From this first developmental phase formed the spine, brain, and nervous system, and from these developing parts, the rest of the human organism evolves all the work of the forces of the astral body."

In "Anaivarukkum Uganda Pranayama Payirchigal" by Sri Sri Yogi Shivananda Paramahamsa" published by Viswa Yoga Kendra Trust, 2001, we learn that the chakras in the causal body that is subtle are very much connected with the physical body. The chakras access the Prana from the Pranamaya Kosa and deliver it through its massive network of 72,000 Nadis to the physical body. It is akin to the transformers delivering electricity from the main lines to light up our homes. When the chakras efficiency is disrupted, the physical body and its components are affected too.

He list down the connection between the chakras, and the kosas, the elements or tattvas and the vayus.

Generally, in man, the Ida and Pingala work in tandem. Shushumna is dormant. Through the advanced stages of Pranayama the Shushumna gives way and opens. Kundalini arises from the Muladhara and makes its way to Sahasrara. He then transcends the Physical, Subtle, and Causal bodies and comes to know his Atma. Prana that is akin to the shadow of the Atma shadows and works in all three bodies.

The Causal Prana residing in the sperm and ovum paves the way for the development of an embryo according to its baggage of karma.

In the fetus that was formed in the womb, upon delivery the subtle Prana transcends from the crown to the forehead and initiates the first breath. The child then takes in the Prana from the air around us. Henceforth it depends on this air to survive.

Then if man is commonly said to possess 5 kosas, Agathiyar threw in a surprise saying that the Siddhas acknowledge seven. In speaking about diseases and illnesses Agathiyar mentions that the Siddhas consider the body as having 7 parts. Diseases appear in the Vayu Degam. Looking to see if anybody has spoken about the seven, I came across publications by the Theosophical Publishing House, Adyar. In "Man and his Bodies" by Annie Besant, we are introduced to the physical body, the etheric double, the astral or desire body, the mind bodies, and other vehicles. She considers the physical, astral, and mental worlds respectively as our globe and the two spheres surrounding it. "Beyond this triple region, he may not consciously pass until the gateway of initiation has opened before him." Is this then the doorway that Ramalinga Adigal pleads to Lord Shiva to let him have access through in his early days? We are used to hearing that there are 2x7 worlds, Is this the same as Besant subdivides the worlds? she writes like the other regions the mind world is divided into 7 subplanes. When she speaks about the 'Other Vehicles" she calls it Turiya. Ramalinga Adigal is known to have mentioned this. She equates this to anandamayakosa or body of bliss. CW Leadbeater in his "Man - Visible and Invisible" writes "It will be noticed that the number of planes is seven and that each of them, in turn, is divided into seven subplanes." If there are indeed that number of worlds we should equally be having that number of bodies to adapt to each world, right? We have heard of ஏழேழு பிறவி too. That is taken as 7 + 7. We have to wait for Agathiyar to go into the details of what he said.
