COMING TO THE SIDDHAS

The history of the Siddhas has been shrouded in mystery. There are many accounts of their lives and accomplishment written by numerous authors. Their stories are told in the ancient Nadi leaves, that has come out in print. These stories carry their life achievements and accomplishments but very little is known about their personal lives, families, and the society at that period of time. They were gurus or masters in the true sense for they revealed the mystery of life and creation to their students, who carried on the tradition. Although some of these stories sound ridiculous and beyond logic and our comprehension, we prefer not to dwell into it but pick up their messages for humanity.

So are the Siddhas our ancestors? It definitely looks like it.

Imagine you are speaking to someone from the past. Imagine he is guiding you in the present. Who are they who come to your aid the very moment you call them? It is happening, right now and here in the present. The Siddhas are making known of their presence in many unique ways. They come in the form of the nadi, or oracles. They come through people we know. They come as total strangers. All for the sole purpose of delivering messages and most importantly to deliver us from the mortal state into becoming immortals.

A true master would not keep their disciples as subordinates to serve them forever but to raise them too to the stature of theirs. This is what the Siddhas do. They shall raise us to their stature, provided we heed their words. They will await and rejoice as we join them in the state of light. Every man following the path of the Siddhas can be assured to become a Siddha too. Ramalinga Adigal had achieve the state of a Siddha equal to the Adhi Siddha Shiva. He attained the state of Erai too. Erai stepped aside and gave him the staff of authority to carry out his five divine tasks that of creation, sustaining, destroying, veiling and showering of grace.

The Siddhas had an upper hand in nature. Nature submitted to them. They are known to manipulate and change the acts of nature and fate not for individual gains but for the betterment of, be it an individual or people at large. Here is a lesson for us too. The moment we do an act not for ourselves but for the good of another nature comes to our aid. In these acts no karma is attached too.

Supramania Swami a year before he went into samadhi, gave me the fruits and merits of his 40 years of austerities or tapas saying that you can't even take that with you and hence the need and reason to leave it behind.

Tavayogi gave his authority to Mataji before his samadhi. Speaking to me a couple of days earlier to his samadhi, he told me Mataji will take care of the running of his ashram. He had initiated her into reading the Jeeva Nadi, once read by him, now in her possession prior to his demise. Today Mataji runs the Ashram with Tavayogi present in the subtle form, still guiding her.

Mataji will host the 16th Guru Puja celebrations at Kallar Ashram beginning on 26 December 2018.

Unlike us who are fully captivated by the material world, the soul that is trained in yoga will continue its tavam even after it has left the physical body. These highly evolved souls will continue leading its disciples even after death of their physical body. If there is a very strong reason, they make themselves apparent to their disciples.

While the souls of ordinary people, who are lured to the pleasures of the world continue to reach out to these pleasures even after death, the trained soul of a yogi who has shunned the material gains continues to be in a state of peace and samadhi or one with the source forever. While the soul of one who was immersed in the pleasures of the world comes back to take another physical body to work out its remaining desires, the soul of these yogis continue guiding their disciples after their samadhi and eventually merges with the spirit (of erai) after a certain period in time. Though some chose to come back for the sake of humanity, most of these saints remain in their realm but extend help and guidance to their followers in many subtle ways.

Once we have gained and earned the respect of a guru be assured that you are within their grasp henceforth. They shall continue to guide you and shall care for your needs. They shall stand guard over you from all forms of danger. They shall forewarn you of dangers. They stand guard over you, becoming a beacon of light in this vast ocean of live, steering you across the open sea of pleasures and resistance.

When we die, we are met by our family members, relatives, friends and those who we had come into contact in our lives. They usher us into that realm. For those who eventually make it to the kingdom of Erai, the whole lineage of gurus shall await to usher us in and place us in a seat in their divine kingdom.

When Ramalinga Adigal finally made it to Erai's kingdom, winding his way through 1. a jhoti malai or luminous mountain, 2. a veethi or street, 3. medai or platform, 4. kudam or room, and arriving at 5. a yezh nilai maadam or seven tier hall, he stops to explain the states of each nilai or level. Carrying on further he comes to 6. a tambam or staff or post. Climbing it, he explains what he saw thence: sakthigal in thousands, 7. a manimudi, then 8. kodu mudi or a peak and 9. a 1008 koyil. Heading now for the entrance or kopura vayil he saw kodi sathargal, sathigal or sathargal and sathigal in crores, ten million, questioning him as to who he was who had made it this far.

At another entrance stood 5 who showed him to a mani vayil, another entrance where he saw a couple. They showed him to another door, where stood Mother Goddess in all her majesty. Receiving her arul or grace and amudham or divine nectar, he is shown Lord Nadaraja's sannadhi. Adigal does not elaborate futher on what he saw or gained here but only could utter that "Only God will know what I received therein in the Lord's presence." He hints in another song of this though: that the Mayil or peacock became a kuyil or cuckoo; seeing Vallal (Erai), having left behind Jati or caste, and samayam or traditions, he then saw Arul Jhoti; and leaving behind all the lies he saw Aiyar (his Lord).

It is said that Bhagawan Ramana came across a similar entrance in the Holy hill of Arunachala. Upon entering it he was surprised to see it was hollow. Journeying inside he saw sights that were closely depicted in Rajnikant's movie "Baba" where a mystery man leads him into a portal and traversing green meadows and snow clad mountains he finally appears at Baba's camp.

The spark that came from the source, the spirit of Erai, took on a soul and a body, where all it's life's experience are recorded and retained in the soul, merges with the source eventually after many births of perfecting and purifying. That moment of union back to the source is sama + adhi, samadhi, one with the source.

Immaterial how the yogis drop their physical bodies, the soul merges in samadhi. The yogi can succumb to an illness, an attack, or any other means of death, the soul that has evolved to a high spiritual state, through a period of continued tapas and further purification, shall enter the kingdom of Erai.

For a man who has much desires he comes back to take on another physical body to exhaust his desires. The soul that carries much desires for worldly things chooses its next birth where it can come again and fulfill its desires. A soul that had loved to rule over others would come again to rule. A soul that served others comes again to serve. The soul that yearns for the kingdom of Erai, comes again to continue its journey towards Erai, that was suspended midway due to various reasons.

Hence it is of utmost importance that we are careful with our wishes and desires for what we desire now shall determine our future births. When man has exhausted all his material desires and turns towards his creator that new desire now will take a new form, relevant to his new found desire.

A man who had succumbed to an illness, fought for 5 years, finally giving up decided to let go. Agathiyar had recommended several remedies and most importantly ask that he not give up. But yet after all the remedies were done on behalf of him by a close relative of his he could not be saved. People around the relative who went all the way to help his disabled relative, chided him of what is the point of him spending so much time and money to consult the Nadi and seek out remedies. In the end he died too like others. There is never a Nadi reading for a death man. But Agathiyar called in his close relative and asked him what was he to do when even after he had done all the remedies given so that his bedridden relative could live, the crying soul decided it was enough. He had given up the battle even after the numerous reminders not to surrender to death.

When Tavayogi seeked medical attention when his fever did not stop, the doctors discovered he had a health problem. He underwent several procedures and recovered sufficiently to return to his ashram. Agathiyar says he heard our prayer and sat with the other Siddhas to perform a yagam so that Tavayogi could live.

After some time Tavayogi succumbed to the same symptoms and was warded again in ICU. This time around he wanted to go, for it had been far too long that he had postponed his desire of going into samadhi, all for the sake of ours. When he was re-admitted he called me to say that in event he did not return to his ashram, Mataji shall take care of the ashram. Tavayogi was treated, discharged and brought back to the ashram. He passed away peacefully within a couple of hours after arriving at the Kallar Ashram grounds.

When I succumbed to sciatica Lord Muruga after healing me, told me the importance of taking care of the body to attain higher states. Let us not invite death he told. Both Lord Muruga and Agathiyar sent the message loud and clear that one should strive to survive, given all the medical facilities made available in modern times, be it alopathy or siddha. If he is willing to fight, and not give up, he would come through fine. The Siddhas want us to fight in the face of illness and not succumb to it. Only then can remedies work for our betterment. The surgeon or doctor only administers and treats or operates on us. Remember it is the divine that heals from within.

My mother fought her illness when she was warded some years back. The doctors told us she was a strong lady. We did pray too. She survived. Similarly many who were given hours or days, survived because of the medical attention given and their spirit to fight off the illness. We need not fight the battle alone. Take the hands of Erai and face the facts of life with renewed strength. Join the support groups where you will find strength and motivation to combat your illness. Never give up in all circumstances for there is yet a silver lining and hope. Walk in on a Nadi reading by Agathiyar, and you would be amazed at the amount of motivation he gives us. Erai is just a stone throw away. Erai and his apostles, and our guardian angels, are waiting to guide and help. All we need is to ask, not to remove the problem but to give us inner strength to shoulder it, to give us a solution to overcome it.

Our ancestors have a wonderful system in place. In times of need who do we turn too? We have Lord Ganapathy placed in every temple and street. Lord Ganapathy who resides in the very first chakra of the Sukma Degam, also resides alongside roads and at the entrance of the temples our ancestors built. He is known to ward off danger and to remove obstacles. We approach him at the start of any new venture.

Agathiyar does not interfere in the workings of natural law unless there is absolute need for it. Although he would just remain the watcher, he will give hope even till the last breath leaves the mortal body. So it is only fair that we fight till the end. The irony is that we tend to fight for all the other reasons, fighting to upkeep our properties and post, fighting for certain causes, fighting to defend our opinions but give up when the body begins to ail.

Although everything is in its place, if we desire for something and pray for it, the divine accommodates our wishes too. But then remember that he will have to move the chess pieces carefully for all action produces a domino effect. But nothing comes without a price. We still have to face the repercussions. So we should wish carefully. A better option would be to leave everything in the hands of the divine rather then push our personal desires to the edge, to the extent of harming others. The moment we drop our desires, Erai moves in and moves us. Then it is purely his desire and wish and you can be assured of success.
