THE NADI

Over the past few days, I have had readers message/call me to ask if I knew any Nadi readers. The ones they frequented were either not available or never responded, nor gave them a date, or were not accessible. I told them to stop depending on these Nadi readings each time they take another step forward. I had to be cruel, dashing their hopes of having a reading. I pray that Agathiyar does not send me to the dungeons or hell or curse me.

I myself have had close to sixty Nadi readings, but I only went seeking on my own once in 2002, to find out if at all I was cursed in a previous birth. Dr Krishnan, astrologer and Siddha physician, in replying to me as to why his predictions that went well with others did not materialize for me, spoke about the Siddhas and their Nadi that was news to me, for it was the very first time I came to know of their existence. He suggested I seek a Nadi reader to know if I was cursed, stating that the horoscopes cannot reveal this and that only the Siddhas could. This was in 1996. As I knew no Nadi reader, I left it at that.

In 2002, my colleague shared his experience of reading his Nadi in 2000. This got me excited, and I remembered what Dr. Krishnan had said earlier. My colleague managed to make an appointment for me to see the Nadi, and true enough, Agathiyar said that I had been cursed. What surprised me was that the birth chart that Agathiyar revealed in my first Nadi reading did not tally with what was charted based on my date of birth and time, which I had followed till then. No wonder the predictions based on my horoscope never came true. Agathiyar told me that he would see me again in 2005 when I was 43 then. He gave me remedies, sending me to carry out rituals locally and on a pilgrimage to India. I did as told. The following year, I landed at the doorstep of my very first guru, Supramania Swami of Tiruvannamalai.

In 2005, Agathiyar prompted me to meet Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal of Kallar Ashram, who was here to officiate a local Peedham of Agathiyar. Wanting to verify if the pamphlet that was passed on to me in 2002 by the Nadi reader, regarding one Thaai Veedu Thangarasan sourcing funds to build a temple for Agathiyar in Kallar, was of the visiting Adigal, I knocked on the door of the Peedham where he was putting up. It was he indeed, and a guru-disciple relationship blossomed. Frequenting the Peedham during his stay, I mentioned to him that Agathiyar had asked that I come back for another reading at the age of 43. I was 43 then, but did not know of any Nadi reader. Tavayogi gave me the number of a Nadi reader. In the reading, Agathiyar told me to get initiated the same night. I did as told, and Agathiyar rerouted me to Kallar and had me come directly under the wings and shadow of Tavayogi, instead of having me visit the local Peedham to appease my spiritual hunger as Tavayogi had suggested earlier. Following Tavayogi a month later, after his departure to India, I stayed and traveled with him as Agathiyar had directed in the Nadi. Returning home, Agathiyar and the other Siddhas began to call me over for regular Nadi readings. There were days when I used to have weekly readings. And so Agathiyar and the Siddhas guided me spiritually. I did not seek anything material. Neither did they speak about my wants and desires. They revealed their desires for me instead. They began to chart my destiny, altering my fate and helping me burn my Karma.

When I was content with some sixty readings, and laid off seeing the Nadi, a devotee and friend, without my knowledge, made an appointment for me with another Nadi reader in 2018, where Lord Muruga began to address me. He told me that henceforth he had changed my fate. He came to my aid later in 2019, coming through a devotee and the Nadi simultaneously and in real time to heal the pain I was going through as a result of the internal transformation that was taking place under the watchful eyes of the Siddhas.

The Nadi readings stopped in the wake of the pandemic, with the last Nadi read in September of 2019, when the Nadi readers took flight back to India to care for their families. In their absence, Agathiyar and the other Siddhas and the deities addressed our spiritual needs, coming through devotees. Post pandemic, when the Nadi readers returned, to my surprise, Agathiyar, coming through a devotee, sent me for a Nadi reading. Why would he do that when he could have told me what I needed to know through these devotees? He wanted to reveal to me the play of Maya. He came through a devotee later and spoke further on it.

Then, a Nadi reader messaged me just this month that Agathiyar had a message for me. He has yet to read it to me.

Though I had personally sought a Nadi reading the first time in 2002, I was called to read the Nadi the rest of the time. It was their call that I heeded.

I have come to realize that what started as a revelation of a road map for us to begin our return journey back to the kingdom of God, as the Siddhas intended, over time has deviated into addressing our wants and fulfilling our desires in the material world for many. Many seek the Nadi, wanting to fulfill their immediate needs. Others want reassurance from the Siddhas for decisions and investments that they had already made. Still others seek to know what was in store for the world at large and the politics of their countries. Very few wanted to hear about Gnanam and the means to attain it.

Just as Tavayogi at one stage asked us why we needed the Nadi when Agathiyar had already come into our lives, guiding, overlooking, running, and sustaining us for life, I, too, have come to believe one should not rely on the Nadi forever. My wife, too, in believing so, asked, since he is talking to us, why the need for a Nadi reading?

Agathiyar, as usual, goes further, in addressing our disappointment in not speaking to us at times, for days, weeks, and months, says that there was no need to come through others, since he was in us and talking to us. He says that he has been talking to us, since day one, but we were not listening.

The Nadi is a starter kit designed to help you begin our spiritual journey and progress smoothly. Once we board the train, let us now have faith in Agathiyar and surrender to his will and wishes, rather than setting individual goals and seeking his blessings through Nadi readings. Let us do his work here rather than figure out and plan what we need to do further to achieve our goals. Let us leave things in his hands. By doing so, we would not burn our fingers. We would not be frustrated. We would not lose faith in the Siddha's words and their Nadi. Let us save ourselves and not blame the Siddhas later. As a reader and friend said, "I will now focus more on inner power and find Agastya and Shiva there," let us do just that. And as Thavathiru Kumarsamy Aiya of Agathiyar Ashram in Anuvavi, Coimbatore, who started his journey with Agathiyar at the age of eight, told me, we shall Hold on to One, Hold on To It Tight, Hold on To It Till the End, let us just do that ஒன்றை பிடி, இருகப்பிடி, இறுதிவரை பிடி.
