AGATHIYAR'S JAYANTHI & GURU PUJA

The year is coming to an end. In a number of days, we will be stepping into a new year. I take a moment now to reminiscent the year. I have grown a year older. Have I grown wiser?

I started this blog which has a small but dedicated following, on a Saturday, 27 July.  I wrote in my first post, "Here we will showcase all about the ever evasive, mysterious and incomprehensible higher intelligence known as Sidhas. We shall try to comprehend the workings of the Sidhas too" and started off by posting miracles performed by the Sidhas that were caught on film. I invited all to step into the world of the Sidhas. After 146 published posts I am nowhere nearer to realizing this intelligence. Only time and Agathiyar shall reveal this mystery. So much has taken place around us and in the people around us. So many miracles. So many revelations. To piece all these together will need wisdom (Gnanam) and only the Siddhas can grant that. That too is only possible if they grant their grace (Arul) first.

Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal and other saints reveal that this is the period of Gnana Sidhar Kaalam. He says this is the Dawn of Revelations by the Wise Sidhas. I believe the Sidhas will arrive to make good the wrong and save mankind from slipping further into turmoil. But this is an ongoing battle - to right the wrong.

Tiruvalluvar gave mankind, irrespective of race and religion, the Tirukkural, a guide to righteous living besides giving us his book of Wisdom, Gnana Vettiyan and Pancharathnam. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thiruvalluvar)

Avvai gave us the Konrai Venthan, Aathicudi, Mooturai and Nalvali (basic wisdom that should govern mundane life, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avvaiyar), her book of wisdom being the Vinayagar Agaval.

Ramalinga Adigal, a Siddha of recent times, gave us the Tiruarutpa, a gem, a treasure or pokkisham. One can follow Adigal's move up the rung from devotion to God in the form to formless and light or Jhoti eventually, through his renditions, arranged chronologically in Ooran Adigal's publication. In his Manumurai Kanda Vaasagam, Adigal has included a rendition explaining the possible reasons for taking birth again and again.

Manickavasagar came much earlier before Adigal, giving us the nectar, Tiruvasagam. Ramalinga Adigal read his works immensely. One can see similarities between these two Divine births or Avatars.

It is said that to a wise man the world is the same but he sees it from a different perspective. Many such Avatars did come to preach and change our mindset but we were an adamant lot not wanting to change our perspective of life and death. One thing for sure we cannot change the world but we can surely change ourselves and our outlook.

On a lighter note, my friend Harsha Vardhan of Bangalore shared the following posts on FB.

All the rituals and teachings and practices given my Spiritual Gurus were directed towards bringing positive change in mankind. By faithfully upholding these transfer of spiritual knowledge or upadesa one can most definitely progress on this path that is most commonly identified to walking on Razor's Edge. If we slip there is always the Guru to catch us or break our fall. Under Supramania Swami's and later Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal's tutelage we have gathered sufficient knowledge to bring a start to this wonderful and blissful journey aided by Agathiyar and the Siddhas. Let us then participate and celebrate this union or joint venture between man and the divine on our journey towards self-realization. Towards this Tavayogi will be holding a two-day celebration at his Ashram grounds in Kallar to commemorate Agathiya's Jayanthi and Guru Puja with the highlight being the lighting of the sacrificial fire - the Sarva Dosa Nivaarana Maha Yagam at 2pm on 22 December 2013.

We in Malaysia shall conduct prayers simultaneously. All Devotees of Agathiyar are cordially invited to witness, participate and receive the grace (Arul) of Agathiyar in conjunction with Agathiyar's Jayanthi and Guru Puja on 22 December 2013 between 10am and 12noon at Agathiyar Vanam.

We shall start with lighting the sacrificial fire or Homam, continued by the bathing ritual or Abhisegam and end with a Bhajan or Kootu Prathanai.

Please confirm to attend.
