SAMADHI

Life starts with the first breath and ends with the last. Along the way, we forget the breath as it comes and leaves without our effort. But one day we find difficulty in breathing and fear sets in. The fear of death. At that moment we begin to associate breath with life and living. Returning from the moment of horror we begin to pay attention to our body. Then we are introduced to Yoga which is a comprehensive practice that revitalizes the body, breath, and soul, we are told. As a Sadhaka on the path of Yoga, through certain practices, we begin to enhance, improve, and increase our breathing capacity and quality. We begin to gain control of the breath, switch it, and stop it momentarily. We notice a great change go through us and an internal transformation takes place. Soon we are asked to go within and observe it. Finally, we are told to observe the silence, quietitude, and peace within the breath. We settle in it. That is Samadhi, the state of being one with the source. Life sustains in the body as long as we choose then. The soul that engineered the body and brought in the breath and life within, rejoices within, glows, and illuminates as the Jothi or Effulgence in us.
