I think I have found the solution to end this cycle of birth and death. Acceptance. Yes acceptance of all that happens to us and around us. Both Bhagawan Ramana and Yogi Ramsuratkumar accepted their fate when robbers entered the former's ashram and bashed him up and when the public bashed up the latter in the streets in broad daylight solely for the reason he was from the north. While Bhagawan said “If you are not satisfied yet, you may strike the other leg also”1, the Yogi told some later that they had come to do their work and let us do ours. Apparently, Bhagawan is said to have said the same too.
When both these saints were not spared by the dreaded cancer cells they took it in their stride. Bhagawan Ramana told his devotees "Why are you so attached to this body? Let it go", and "Where can I go? I am here."2
The Yogi is said to have never complained though he was in extreme pain. "Even in his sufferings, Yogi never complained. He bore all the sufferings of the ailments."3
When Pattinathar was accused of stealing the temple jewelry and tied up to a staff and a fire lit below him, he kept his cool neither fighting his case nor pleading for mercy. The robbers who had stolen it threw the evidence into a dark chamber of a shrine they passed by while running away from the palace guards and the jewelry landed around Pattinathar's neck who was taking refuge in the temple.
When we are taught to let go of our desires, attachments, and material possessions, these saints teach us to even let go of this body willingly.
When Tavayogi was hit by a bus as he rode a bike from his ashram into town he was treated for injuries for close to a month. He told me that it was his Karma. He accepted it without finding faults with the stars or others.
If we accept we will not retaliate nor will we dwell into the cause and seek solutions. Acceptance ends all our interactions. Hence it ends the making of new Karma. Whatever Karma we brought with us is exhausted by others pounding us.
