Tavayogi Thangarasan Adigal has finally had his wish fulfilled. He is in the midst of building a magnificient complex for Agathiyar. The design and conceptual drawings of the temple complex are in the making with the architects and engineers having a series of discussions with Tavayogi trying to bring Tavayogi's vision to reality. Tavayogi has envisioned several facilities including a meditation hall that would house 500 people with Thava Murugan, Agathiyar and the 18 Siddhas in their midst; a temple to house the Agathiyalingam; a dining hall and kitchen; 5 units of accommodation for devotees; a garden; a kosalai to house the cows; and planting 27 trees or vritcham for the 27 stars or natchathiram. Meanwhile clearing, earthwork, excavation of rocks and leveling of the two acre piece of land has commenced on the ground.
Tavayogi, a disciple of Chitramuthu Adigal, came to Kallar after Agathiyar asked him to seek out a place called Agathiyar Vanam and set up an ashram. The present Kallar Ashram had seen many amazing miracles take place including the arrival of the mystical rudraksham and the mysterious Jeeva Nadi. It has seen many devotees coming in search of answers to their queries, problems and sorrows and many others in search of guidance on spiritual matters. The Kallar Ashram saw the annual lighting of the sacrificial fire or Yagam that brought in devotees from all over India, Malaysia and other countries. Having served its purpose well and struggling to accommodate the growing crowd, it is only timely that the Ashram is moving to a bigger campus with better facilities.
