THANKSGIVING PART 2

Harimanikandan Chamundi posted a beautiful note on fb and in our group too. The translation goes as follows:

The act of performing Dharmam or charity is not a simple thing. First, you will need to own or have something in your possession before you can give it away. The thought should then arise to give away one's possession. You might have the thing and the thought but if no one comes along to beg or ask for your help, the opportunity for you to do charity or Dharmam would not arise. It is only with Erai's grace that one has something in his possession that he would want to share or give away as alms and again Erai creates the opportunity for one to perform charity and the other to receive. This blessing is only for those who pray to be given an opportunity to do charity. If you think you want a companion at the time of your demise from this physical world, do charity for it will follow you.

When S.Ganesan who was a regular face at Ongkarakudil returned to Malaysia, he too wanted to do his part in feeding the poor just as is done at Thuraiyur under the watchful eyes of Thavathiru Rengaraja Desigar. The Lord granted his wish to feed the hungry. Each day someone will turn up to him and ask that he buy food for them. Surprisingly they would ask for food and not cash and insist on vegetarian food.

Agathiyar says one should go out to find someone to help each day. Yogi Ramsuratkumar when asked why India has so many beggars, replied that India needs beggars. When tea was served to the Yogi and his visitor, the visitor moved the glass. Immediately the Yogi returned it to its original position. All is perfect and in its place.
