In speaking to us about our karma the Siddhas I guess are telling us about the Domino effect and the larger Butterfly effect that we have all brought onto ourselves and the world around us through the ages and through the thousands of births we might have taken in the past. Nay it could even be in the several past Yugas as Agathiyar made us aware of the extent of karma that goes back yugas through a couple.
If the Domino effect "typically refers to a linked sequence of events where the time between successive events is relatively small", the Butterfly effect is said to be "any situation where a small change is supposed to be the cause of larger consequences."
Something I did in the way past or maybe in a previous birth (or several) or maybe in another Yuga has determined this day in my life. So, it seems that we come or rather are placed in an awkward position where there is no escape. Life was not a choice. It seems so. But the Siddhas who prefer to see and speak to our souls say we have had a choice right from day one. The journey according to them starts not on this earth but a different plane where we are with God. Neale Donald Walsch in his series of books, "Conversation with God" shares a children's parable titled "The Little Soul and the Sun", adapted from his book 1 in the series, where a young soul who knew he was light wanted to experience it. He asks God to experience light. So, he is given a choice to pick the desired action that he would like to do, from a list of many, once he is on earth. He chooses the act of forgiving. Another soul immediately steps up to join the soul in fulfilling its wish by being the perpetrator so that the young soul can then forgive him. They both come down to earth to live out their desire.
As Neale wrote, knowing who we are was not enough; we needed to become "it", this desire triggers a chain of events. A learning process takes place, and several experiences are recorded, whereby the soul becomes enriched through these experiences. We, being light in essence, for want of experiencing it, had darkness and all opposites created for us. As all the souls are perfect, many wanted and volunteered to come down to help us gain the experience. Thus, we had all known each other earlier. We had planned to be together here. Those who needed a particular experience chose to come early while others remained behind to join later.
But as we are governed by the 96 tattvas, we fail to see through the screen held up by Maya, the illusionist. I guess if we start to see the soul, we might recognize it and come to terms or come to a compromise. The reason we clash head-on is because of the existence of ego or a self, identity and individuality that differentiates us in all manner.
