ATTAINING GNANAM

It is nice to see devotees of Agathiyar who frequented AVM in the past turn up and spill pearls of wisdom. True to what Agathiyar named AVM as Gnanakottam earlier and Ramalinga Adigal recently called it Gnanapeedham, words of wisdom slip through the lips of these devotees. Time had tutored them well, learning lessons from numerous experiences in both the material and spiritual world. Going by their experiences we see that the Siddhas are with them in every step they take. They have matured into a Gnana Palam or Fruit of Wisdom, and as Agathiyar says they have gained Atma Balam of Soul Power. As my gurus say nothing is wasted, life has given them valuable lessons. True to the definition of what Gnanam was as given by Agathiyar, the beatings, and the thrashings, that one takes as he walks through life and the numerous other experiences that come with the responsibilities in life, in molding him, sets him to question life itself and its purpose. He then embarks on a quest to know his true purpose. This at one time in his life shall moot him to look within for the answers. Traveling within and traveling the many chakras, he gains insight and he lays sight of the wonder that is the Prapanjam. He settles in contentment and bliss finally, zipping up and sitting in silence, henceforth only listening and watching. He is then a Gnani. Contrary to the expectation that a Gnani talks much he withholds his speech unless called for. He is the Mouna Guru, the Prapanjam that abstains from speaking unless called for. This was hilariously portrayed in a scene from the movie "Saguni". When the master spoke everyone else too spoke among themselves. But when two chaps confront him and teach him the tricks of Marketing and Packaging, he now zips up and everyone is looking forward to the moment when he would open his mouth to speak.
